"Hey John, Remember me ?"

John Turner was sitting in the 8th row of the Cineplex. He was watching the Latest Summer Sci-Fi blockbuster to come out of Hollywood. But it wasn't the film that had gotten his attention, but one of the actors, Milo Dante. He is Hollywood's new leading heartthrob, their newest golden boy; but most of all, his former high school sweetheart and the boy who shattered his young vulnerable heart.

"He's actually good" Ben said, as they came out of the theatre. Ben is John's younger brother. Ben is now in his final year of high school and a jock and all-round athlete and the girls adore him.

John is now in his senior year at City College, Idaho. "Yeah, he was good" John replied. "I can't believe he was a friend of yours" Ben added.

"Yeah, we hung out some; been a while now, though" John replied as they approached his pride and joy, but remembering the day Milo said goodbye. He promised he would come back, but never did. "When did he move away? Because Bro, I don't even remember him living around here" Ben asked.

"Five years four months ago, his folks moved" he replied, climbing into his mustang and opening the passenger side, so his kid brother could get in. "Was he any more than a friend?" Ben asked, as John had come out to his family just over two years ago.

"Ben, I would rather not talk about it, if you don't mind" John said, sombrely.

"So yes then, something bad or just a bad break up" he asked

"No, just things I don't want to drag up at the moment and some things still sting a bit" John replied, as they pulled out of the parking lot.

"Didn't mean to pick at an old wound, bro" Ben said, dropping the obvious sore subject. His brother smiled. He didn't hate Milo; in fact, he still thinks he loves him. He has seen him on TV, giving interviews. He hasn't said anything about who he is dating; but John hasn't heard if he has come out, either.

"No, you didn't, it's, well...yeah we had history. Now, can we just leave it there, you know, history?" John asked, and Ben nodded in agreement, but looked over at his older brother and saw sadness in his eyes.

They went inside their family home and talked about the movie with their parents, and Ben was still excited about a home town boy being a hotshot in Hollywood. John however was in silent pain. He still had feelings for Milo and every time his name got mentioned his heart hurt. He told his parents a while back that he was gay but never told them the boy's name that had stolen his heart.

"I'm tired, think I'll turn in early" John said standing up and kissing his mother good night. He climbed the steps to his bedroom and lay on his bed reliving the scenes in the movie but replacing the movie star actress and putting himself in Milo's embrace, a tear trailed down his face as he finally drifted off to an uneasy sleep.

The following day, John listened to his peers talking and commenting on the film. Most liked the film, but some preferred the original version. He, being twenty one, couldn't remember the original version, anyway.

"So, what was your opinion?" asked Tony, the Drama professor. "It was okay, I guess" he replied. "And how did you rate Milo Dante, in his role?" he asked. "I thought he was okay" John replied. "What, just okay? John, he nailed it. He stood out. That is what you have to do to make it in Hollywood; you have to get noticed and make a great first impression. Mr Dante did just that" Tony raved.

He couldn't argue; Milo had nailed it. He had to admit it was great to see him; even if it was on a 40ft screen in a Cineplex. Some students were gushing over Milo. Some even claiming that they once dated him in highschool. But John knew the real Milo Dante.

Over the next few days, he couldn't stop thinking about his ex. His mind was swimming, then some news came that made him smile, just a little. Milo's cousin had let it slip that he was coming to present an award at his old high school film club. It was a favour to his former mentor and teacher. Mrs Baxter had inspired him to act and he always mentioned her when giving interviews. He was humbled by her.

John wondered if he would see him, and then brought himself back to Earth. "He walked away from you; have some dignity, Turner" he said to himself. "You still live in the same house. He knows where you live...dignity" he reminded himself. But the pain of rejection still stung a little.

Since there was no fixed date mentioned for Milo to present this film award. He let the matter vanish; he wasn't seeing anyone on a regular basis, just the occasional hook-up, just sex no substance and sometimes no names, just a release.

He then heard that Milo was, indeed, in town. He decided to get away from things. He didn't need to see Milo. Okay yeah he did but he also knew his heart could not withstand Milo walking away again. So he packed up his fishing gear and headed out, rod hanging out of the rear window. He drove just over six miles to the creek; he got his gear out of the car and set up camp, Milo and he came here often, but he put that out of his mind, it wasn't helping.

"Two days should do it. He should be gone in two days" he said to himself, as he set a fire going. He brewed himself some coffee and checked his line. He never could catch anything in this damn creek; despite that he knew for a fact most of his friends fished it successfully.

Every time he came out fishing he liked the idea of sleeping under the stars, it was summer and the nights were warm and sultry. After giving up on catching fish he ate out of his cooler before he lay himself down on a sheet and dozed off. He woke to the feeling of rain drops. "Typical, fucking typical" He cursed to himself. He climbed into his car and tried to doze again, but failed. The sound of rain smashing off the roof of his car was deafening.

Then, he decided, because of the heavy rain, he better head back to town before the road washed out; as had been known to happen in heavy rain, and this was most definitely heavy.

He took his time and drove back, he drove past his old high school and pulled into an old layby, he looked and remembered some good times, he loved this place, and this was the place that Milo first kissed him.

"Pull yourself together. It was old news, history; move on. He probably doesn't even remember you" He said to himself. He started the engine, pulled out, and drove home.

A car he didn't recognize was parked in the street; a young lady sat in the passenger side. He didn't recognize her. He didn't say anything to her, just walked up the drive and opened the front door.

"Mom, Dad, I'm home. Just going to get out of these wet clothes" he said, and hung up his coat.

"Hey John, remember me?" a voice from his past asked. He turned around, and, standing in the living room doorway was one Milo Dante.

"Five years, not bad Milo" He said with no small amount of distain. "Can we talk?" Milo asked.

"Don't worry Milo, your secret is safe. I am not running to the papers to spill all, if that is what you have come to find out" He added, all the bitterness he felt, now pouring out and the anger and resentment building.

"John, I just want to talk...please" he asks.

"Who's the girl...your beard?" John snaps back.

"My P.A" He replies.

"John, be civil" His mother said, walking to the kitchen. "Mom, please let me handle this situation" John replied.

"Situation; is that what I am?" Milo replies, with a bit of sadness, and bitterness of his own.

"No, you were more than that; but that was five years ago. You left and never came back; never called. You dumped me with no explanation; so, no, Milo, we cannot talk. It's too late for talking. Now, thank you for visiting...five years too fucking late; but thank you, anyway. Don't let the door hit your ass when you leave" John replied, with some grim satisfaction but he wanted to turn around and pull Milo into his arms...but he couldn't.

John climbed the stairs and went to his bedroom. He dropped onto his bed shaking and just sobbed. The realization was, that, he knew he still harboured very strong feelings for Milo; but cursed him for dragging up those unfinished feelings he had buried, for such a long time.

Knock!! Knock!!

"Mom, please, just leave me alone I'm fine" he said, not lifting his head off of his pillow.

"Still have that over dramatic streak" Milo said walking in and sitting himself down on John's bed.

"What are you doing here, Milo? You broke my fucking heart, you know that? Is that what you wanted to hear? You broke me. I waited, and you couldn't even give me the courtesy of a call or a letter: a text would have done, but nothing! You left me hanging" John said in a tirade of emotion. It was therapy.

"John I don't know what to say. I fucked up. I was moving away. You told me you loved me, and, well, I didn't know what I felt... You freaked me out...so, yeah, I took the easy option and I bailed on you...and for that, I am sorry" Milo responded.

"Oh, fucking acting classes have worked out; great speech Mrs Baxter taught you well but I am not buying it, but great speech; now, can you leave, PLEASE?" John insisted.

Nothing was said, no words, for almost twenty minutes. Milo sat still and quiet at the foot of John's bed. John just laid there, legs crossed, and stared at the ceiling his heart beating faster by the second.

"So, are you still in the closet?" John asked, after a period of very awkward silence.

"What?" Milo asked.

"Well, you were scared shitless of anyone finding out about us. And let's face it you couldn't wait to get away from me. So, are you still a closet case?" John asked again.

"At the moment, yeah; but I want that to change" Milo replied in a solemn tone.

"I just wanted to make a name for myself, get some work behind me you know. The daytime soap opera was good. The three films I have done have built my reputation, so, now, I want to be me" he added.

"Well, good luck with that" John replied, again with more than a little amount of bitterness.

"How do you feel about me, John?" he asked.

"John" he repeated.

"I hate you, and I need you to leave" he replied, but not too convincing.

"I love you, John" he said with feeling.

Silence!

"John, did you hear what I said?" He asked.

"What do you want from me, Milo? You want the blood from my body, my lungs, my kidneys, liver? You already had my heart; but you stomped on that. Do you expect me to drop everything and fall back into your arms? You hurt me, so fuck you" John yelled as tears broke though.

"I told you five years ago that I loved you, but you walked out of my life; and now you expect to just waltz back into where you left off? Well, sorry, Mr ACTOR GUY, it does not work like that. Did you expect me to fawn all over you because you are some big Hollywood hot shot?" John asked, but not requiring an answer.

"Shit, you really do hate me" Milo replied.

"You fucking hurt me" John repeated.

"I am so sorry, John. Look, I won't bother you anymore. Since you have made your feelings clear and I know it is my own fault but do me a favour. Watch dateline tomorrow. I am giving an interview; mostly about the movie, but John, please watch" Milo pleaded, before leaving John's bedroom.

John eventually fell into a very troubled and uneasy sleep...

The following day found John sitting in the living room. His dad was at work and his mother, out shopping. Ben was in high school, and he himself was skipping an afternoon class.

The weather had been read, and the newscaster introduced the movie segment.

"Welcome, Welcome. Now, my guest, at this time, is the starring actor of the Sci-Fi blockbuster `Forbidden Planet', a remake of the 1950's classic. It has gained much critical acclaim; and many say the reason for the acclaim is the performance of Milo Dante. Milo, welcome" the presenter went on.

"Thank you Rob, it's great to be here" Milo replied, looking a little nervous.

They talked a bit about the movie and how it was to work with such a great cast, and an award winning director.

"Well, Rob, I had the drive and determination to succeed. I had a goal to be recognized as an accomplished actor, and get a good footing in the acting community. But right now I have to be me while I do this. Rob there is too many actors working and not being honest with themselves or their fan base. I for one will correct that misconception regarding myself" he started and again took a deep breath.

"What exactly do you mean by misconception Milo and can you name names about these other actors" he asked

"Rob, No I will not name names, they have to handle their own demons. But for myself however I made a foolish and somewhat cowardly decision some time ago. I walked out on the one good thing in my life" he went on. Rob looking very pleased with himself, as he thought that he was going to get some breaking news; an unwanted child, or an affair with a married woman. Or more.

"I lived in a small town, just outside Boise, Idaho. You know that, it's in my bio. But, what is not in my bio, is I walked out on my soul mate and the one" he went on, John now holding his chest, his heart pounding trying to escape via his mouth.

"When I left I had no idea really what I was leaving behind, I do now" Milo added

"Do we know who this girl is?" Rob asked, staring intently at Milo.

"Don't do it Milo, please you'll wreck your career" John yelled at the TV

"No, you don't, but I will tell you; because I want him back I need him back" he added.

"Him? You said him! Are you pulling a practical joke on me, Milo" Rob asked, with a smile and a little nervous snicker.

"No, Rob. For once in my life this is no joke. As I said I need to be me. I went to see him last night. I told him how I felt and what an idiot I was five years ago. I love him and I pleaded with him but I knew I had fucked up" he went on.

"Whoops! Here's hoping the censor caught that, and edited it out. Go on, Milo" he added stunned at this breaking story.

"Sorry, Rob" he replied, and turned and looked directly into the camera.

"John, I am laying my heart out on national TV; please, talk to me, please" Milo ended and stood up removing the small mic and walked off.

"Well, thank you, Milo" he said as he watched Milo walk off.

"Do you know this John? If you have information, contact us via the usual methods and Forbidden Planet in theatres near you now, back to the studio" Rob ended.

"Wow! Quite a revelation" The newscaster started, and John turned off the TV.

"Milo, what have you done?" he said to himself, with shock and a bit of panic on his face. He sat in the living room watching the re-run of the interview and the ticker banner scrolling in black writing on a yellow background

  • Breaking News Breaking News Hollywood Mega Star comes out on Live TV Breaking News Breaking News Milo Dante comes out live on Dateline. There for the world to see.

An hour later, a knock at the door woke him from his daydreams and fears. He walked over to the door, glancing at the clock. He had slept almost an hour. He opened the door and there stood Milo.

"Can I come in?" Milo asked looking like he had been fighting the world on his own.

John stood to one side, and let him pass. He looked somewhat exhausted. "Milo, why did you do that? It might just wreck your career" John said, in a softer tone than the night before. "John, all this is meaningless without you to share it" he replied, with tears forming in his eyes.

"I have loved you from the first time I saw you" replied John. "I was so hurt when you abandoned me; but I still loved you" he added.

"It took me a little longer, I admit; but, John, I do love you. As you saw, I don't give a fuck who knows. I want you in my life; as my lover, my partner, my husband, if you would have me" Milo said, with sincerity.

"Whoa, calm down, Milo; I am barely talking to you" John replied, shocked at what Milo had just declared. John was still torn on what to do.

"Honestly, John, I asked you how you felt about me; and I sort of ambushed you with that question. Now, please, how do you feel about me? You said that you loved me; is it love, or loved?" Milo asked, with apprehension in his voice.

John did not reply.

Milo's cell vibrated in his pocket like it had done since the interview, he looked at John who still looked like a rabbit in headlights.

"You know where I am, you know how I feel. Now, I better go calm my agent down, somewhat" Milo said, trying to save face.

"Milo...Milo...I still love you very much, but I need some time to think" John replied, and Milo walked over to him slowly. He leaned in and lifted John's chin and planted a soft, sensual kiss.

"I can wait, and John...I have missed this...US" he added.

"Me, too" he replies.

John watched as Milo drove away. "Shit, I don't have his phone number" he bemoaned. "Marriage; was he serious?" he said to himself.

His cell vibrated; he was receiving a text.

He flipped it open, My Cell, for when you have had time to think. Love, Milo XXX it read, and a big smile spread across John's face.

Only a couple of hours lapsed when John asked Milo in a text to come back to see him. It only took Milo ten minutes to get back.

"Hey" Milo said when John opened the door.

"How's your agent" John asked

"Pissed at me" Milo replied.

John's eyes were fixed on Milo's and his heart began to melt. He wanted to let him back into his life and Milo's revelation on live TV told him that he was also serious about his true feelings. Those other girls in class that were claiming to have dated Milo now looking somewhat stupid right now.

"John?" Milo asked while a tear flowed down John's face.

"I love you so much Milo, but my heart couldn't take it again if you left me" he cried a little his heart laid bare once again.

Milo pulled him into his chest. "John, I would rather die than do that to you again, you are a part of me" he said whispering into John's ear.

"Yeah acting classes" John replied.

"I'm not that good John" Milo replied.

"Are your folk's home" Milo asked.

"Bridge club, why" John asked

"I need to show you how much I love you" Milo replied with a smirk.

"I'm not that easy Milo Dante" John replied.

"Yes you are" Milo whispered back and moved in for a kiss, that kiss that always melted John's resolve.

Ten minutes later they were both a naked mass of humanity on John's bed, they tasted each other's bodies and John was where he knew he was always meant to be. It took some heartbreak to get there but he was content. For the first time in over five years he was happy.

"Take me Milo...Please" John asked, nay begged.

John opened his bed side cupboard and handed him a condom and lube. And like when back in highschool Milo fell back into the routine they had back when things were not complicated. He slowly and lovingly opened up his lover, readying him for what would be the first time he had mad love to John, yeah they had sex but that was it SEX...Now he was about to make love to his soul mate.

"Please Milo...Now" John moaned out as Milo removed his fingers and pressed in his condom covered erection. Memories of the burn that came filled John with lust and need. "Ohh Fuck, I forgot how good you feel" moaned John as Milo made slow and deep strokes. He also forgot how good John's ass felt around his cock. But all those memories came flooding back for both of them.

"I'm a fucking idiot" moaned Milo as he kissed John as he stroked deep inside him, his fist wrapped around John's length.

"Yes you were" John commented.

"Oh Fuck!!!" Milo picked up the pace both with his strokes on Johns cock and the depth of penetration into John's very soul.

They both soon came as one and collapsed totally sated, Milo pulled John into his body meaning to never let him go ever again.

Six Months later...

"And the nominations for Actor in a leading roll are" The presenter at the Academy awards began.

"Paul Deluca for My own private life" she started

"Mark Topper for Spiderman four" she continued

"Milo Dante for Forbidden Planet" she eventually read

"And Leo Getz for Life Unexpected" she concluded.

"And the Oscar goes to... Milo Dante, for Forbidden Planet. A cheer erupts in the theatre and Milo makes his way to the stage to accept his award, tears were in his eyes when he eventually began to speak.

"WOW WOW WOW, what can I say. So many people to thank. First off Mrs Baxter thank you for pushing me without you I would probably be selling gas. And I'd like to thank my agent. She stuck by me when my world looked like collapsing. I'd like to thank Byer indie films for choosing me in the first place and our amazing cast and an inspirational leader in Ken Branner, a great director. I' would also like to give credit to my Husband. John you are my world I love you and this is for you" he ended and John looked over to him as he had been seated next to him and his heart was bursting with so much love.. and It showed.

A little later...

Leaving along the red carpet John and Milo with statue in hand Ryan Seacrest asked for a few short words. "Frank I have with me now the Best Actor winner and star of the up-coming blockbuster July 4th has more Meaning, Milo Dante, and his Partner John Turner, John how do you feel about your husband's win tonight" he asked

"Proud, he deserves it, he was amazing in the roll, and I love him so much" John replied and kissed Milo and showed no shame.

"Milo congratulations man, you deserve it John is so right" Ryan commented shaking Milo's hand, as established actors walked passed patting him on the back or shaking his hand.

"I just feel so blessed, I have everything I have ever wanted, I have my acting but most of all I have him" he said pulling John to him and kissing him on the lips. Nobody else around them existed. They were both just very happy at that moment with each other.

"Guys...Guys" Ryan tried to get their attention but failing.

"Guys, we are on live TV" he added and still they just stared at each other, very much in love.

"Take me home" John finally said. Milo took his husband by the hand leading down the red carpet and into the waiting Limo.

THE END...????
