I remember sitting by the riverside seeing trees around me. The place around me was very free. I couldn't see one building around me. This was my place of escape. I don't know much people that know about it. Maybe some friends from school. There are so many memories that happened to me this summer. Geez, it seemed to past by so fast. To tell you the truth, out of all my summers, this was one I would remember.

The story really began near Arkansas. The countryside I call it. You could even get your license earlier than most states, which was a good thing for me I guess. "Dave!" Rory called.

"Hey, how yah doing?" I asked

"Where have you been? I haven't seen you in awhile." She took a seat by my side. "I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I responded.

We were both laying back on this big oak tree, me and my friends grew up playing with. It was really decaying badly at the time, but we didn't mind.

"Sigh . . . a lot have happened huh? This summer I mean." She broke the ice.

"Yeah, I can't believe Brian left."

"He's a big boy now. He needs to live his own life." Rory comforted me.

"I guess." I went back dazing off. I wasn't always like this, dazy and all. What I was before was more `active' you can say. Rory and I grew up with each other. Brian was her boyfriend. Well actually her ex now. They seemed to be a very cute couple.

You know, the kind that you would stick together like glue. The lovey dovey type. The kind you would get sick of. But they were my friends. That's how I actually met Brian hehe. I kinda caught them in the act. Which I think was very funny.

"Hey." I said watching them doing their thing.

"OMG!" Both were shocked that I found them there.

"So . . . you going to introduce me to this fella?"

"OO um, this is Brian." Rory said.

"Hey Brian." I said extended my hand in gratitude. The problem was Rory was kinda on top of Brian while I was trying to talk to him.

"Hey uumm dude could you like give us a few more minutes?" Brian pleaded.

"Sure." Haha that's how I met Brian. Weird huh? After that, we grew a bond. Me and the couples were always hanging out at this one place. It's a small town restaurant with lots of business all the time. In the afternoon, kids were always there, probably because they've just finished school and came down for lunch. But for us, we went there to hang out. Our little meeting area, "The Dinner."

"What you want to eat?" Rory asked.

"Hhmm I'm in the mood for some burgers." I suggested

"I want some icecream. Sweetie you want to share?" Brian suggested.

"Sure Honey." All this cute talk was making me sick. I was just watching them eating their ice cream. I wasn't dumb; I saw what they were doing. Their tongues met as they licking their ice cream. Haha they thought they were pretty slick. But all this sneaking around and kissing kinda got to me. More then usual. I walked out of the table were we sat and I bet they didn't even notice me. But I guess that's ok.

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" I said to no one. "I dunno." "Who the hell are you?" "Oh, sorry I thought you were talking to me." The stranger said. He was just walking out of the bathroom. "I'm sorry, you just caught me off guard." "It's ok." And he walked by me to his table. He was sitting next to a boy that I don't think I saw before. Who knows? Probally some new kid.

I went back to my table feeling kind of dumb yelling at a stranger. "Where have you been?" Rory asked. "I was just about to go to the bathroom, but I ran into someone and yelled at him." "Haha smooth." "I didn't mean to." "Faggots." Brian hissed at the stranger that I just saw. "What?" "Those faggots over there. They're dating. Look, they are holding hands under the table like no one notices them." "Brian, cool it." Rory getting angry. "Sorry sweetie." And they went back to eating their icecream.

I noticed though that Brian was looking at those boys sitting at that table. He was full of hate and it bothered me. ***

God, it was hot. The couples and me went to the beach. It was one of those days that we had no choice but go to the beach. So, Rory called me to tag along. Brian drove us their. It wasn't that long of a drive but it took up some time.

"Punch buggy no punch back." Rory said quickly as she punched me on the arm. "OOW! That hurts." I rubbed my arm. "Haha come on, stop being a wussy." "I'll show you wussy." I said with a mischievous grin. My hands went up to her sides and tickled her with my furry. MUHAHAH. "Haha ok . . .ok." Rory gave up. "Hey stop playing around with my girlfriend or else I'm gonna to pull over. You want that?" Brian spoke while driving. "Haha ok sweety. I'll stop flirting with Dave." Rory told Brian. "Real funny." Brian said with sarcasm, but he still had a smile on.

We arrived at the beach. The sand was burning my feet and people were running around in their swimwear. What else could be better then this? A boy ran into me when I was thinking what a beautiful day it was. "Oh, I'm sorry." "Watch where your . . ." I couldn't finish what I was about to say. It was the same boy that I saw at the table in The Dinner. "Well, I gotta go. Sorry again." And he took off with out another word. "Going." I finally managed to finish speaking. "Come on dude, let's go SURFING!" Brian dragged me to the waves.

I had my board with me. It wasn't all that nice, but nice to surf in. Brian was really excited about surfing. He even took off with out me. I was too busy waxing my board though and talking with Rory. Brian was riding those waves like it was nothing. He was really good. The funny thing was I never noticed how good he looked in that surf out fit he had on. How his body fit so well in that out fit. I was shock that I was even drooling.

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" I didn't know what was going on. I'm so confused. Well, fuck this. I'm going to go surfing. ***

Days went by and I was scared. All these new feelings that I've been having were so weird. I couldn't explain it. Brian and me continue to talk along the summer. We chilled at our usual place `The Dinner.' After talking to him and actually get to KNOW him; I found out he was actually a good guy. Behind his bad boy appeal, he was a sweetheart. Did I just say that?

Well, we were at `The Dinner' talking like what we've been doing for the past few weeks. It was getting late and Brian left. But when he left I saw those two boys again. They were talking. It kind of reminded me of Brian. Did Brian and me look like that when we talked? O well. I went up to them and wanted to get to know them since they came by here so often.

"Hey." I greeted them.

"Hi. Umm who are you?" The boy asked me. I felt kind of stupid at the moment.

"Ooo I'm Dave. I bumped into you, not too long ago."

"HHmm sorry I don't remember. Is there something you want?"

"Actually, I just came by and wanted to apologize again. And wonder if I could talk to you for a while."

"Haha sure. You like to apologize a lot." The boy said. I blushed. "I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Homer and this is my . . . best friend, John."

"Hi." I shook their hands. Both of them were really cute. John was asian. He had black hair and brown eyes just like Homer, but Homer wasn't Chinese. He was cute, with an athletic body. "You know, I have been wondering. Are you two going out or anything?" I asked.

"Can't two friends just hang out? Jeez, now we look gay."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean you guys look gay. I was just wondering."

"Yes we are." John said bluntly.

"John, I thought I told you to chill with that." Homer told john.

"I know, but it's no point in lying anymore. I'm so tired of hiding everything."

"I know . . ."

"NO! YOU DON'T KNOW!" John yelled at Homer. He was really upset now and walked out of `The Dinner.' I looked at Homer, who also looked upset. He was sobbing quietly to himself trying not to show how he felt. "Are you ok?" I asked.

"I'm . . . I'm ok." He managed to crack a smile. I knew it was fake though.

"We can talk if you want."

"We've been fighting for a while." He said out of nowhere. I guess he wanted to get this out. "I play baseball. That's actually how we met. Hehe, I remember that day. Sigh . . . he was soo beautiful." He wiped a tear from his cheek but another one came down right after that and it continued like an endless cycle. "Eventually we fell for each other like any other teenager. Except for the fact we were the same sex. I couldn't take the pain. I was so confused." He broke another smile, but this one seemed genuine. "He told me he loved me. And you know how that made me felt?" "How did it make you feel?" I asked. "Great! No, I was freaking floating. I can't explain how I felt." "Then what's the problem with your relationship?" "He just lost someone that he cared about. And it's hurting `us.' I'm so scared. We might be going to break up." "Who died?" I was getting more and more curious with his side of the story. He wiped off the remaining tears and managed a smile. "How bout I'll tell you some other time. I got to go. Talk to you later." He got up and walked out. I didn't even get to say anything back to him. ***

Rory told me to meet her at the Dinner one day. She said it was important. I didn't know what was going on. She seemed upset somehow. It has been a week and I haven't seen Brian and Rory together since. This was a phenomenon. Who would of thought? They would actually be apart for that long.

"Rory, calm down. Tell me, what's wrong?" I asked, but Rory's voice was shaking badly like something BAD has happened.

"It's . . . it's Brian."

"What? Something bad happen to him?" I was scared.

"No." Rory looked down on the coffee table. " We broke up."

"WHAT!" This was crazy.

"I . . .?" She was too choked up to finish.

"What is it?"

"I think Brian is gay." She blurted out. Suddenly I couldn't hear anything. Like everything was blacked out. It was just me, and what I was thinking. `Brian could be gay? How could he? I don't believe it.' He was like the biggest homophobe.

Sorry for a crappy story. I haven't been able to write these past few weeks because of mom. And I was desperate to put something up. So I wrote something as fast as I could. Tell me what you think. Truly I just want to be another legend, you know? Like comicality, Stormnation, Jaxper Finn, John Aterovis. I want to be an author that people tell others to read. It gives me a satisfaction that I done something. Thanks for reading,
