A weekend alone

"I want you" I thought as I stared at my girlfriend sitting across from me in my backyard. She was sitting with her legs stretched out, the end-of-the-day sun hitting her at just the right angle, running her fingers through blades of grass and pulling them up.

"Oh really?" she said, one eyebrow raised, a crooked smile playing across her lips.

"Shit! Did I say that out loud?" I asked her, blushing furiously and deeper still as her smile got bigger.

"Yup, you did. Getting braver, are we?" she smirked. I couldn't help but smile at my mistake, now. "It was a slip, and you know it." I retorted.

"Well, now I know what you're thinking about, and that I'm not the sex-addict I come off to be." she laughed, referring to a discussion we'd had in the first week of our relationship.

"Oh, shut up!" I said. "I didn't know you well back then."

"Back then!" she exclaimed, "it was only a month ago! You make it seem like we've been together for a few years." I smiled softly, really looking at her.

"That's what it feels like to me sometimes."

"Yeah, I'll admit it, I feel the same way." she said.

"Big tough butch!" I joked and ducked as she reached out to swat at me with her hand, catching it in mid-air and kissing her fingers.

"My parents are going away this weekend, Grace, from tonight until Sunday morning." I said in a low voice. "This is an oppritunity for us."

"Oh, Aim, do you think it'd be right?" she questioned, insecure.

"Yes, I do. I want to make love to you more than anything right now." I said seriously, briefly making eye contact with her. She grinned, and the next thing I knew, she was on top of me, and we were wrestling playfully, loving every second, completely enjoying eachother.

"Girls," my mother called, "Dinner's ready!" I sighed, got up, and helped Grace to her feet. Smiling at her, I bent my elbow, she put her arm through mine, and we walked inside. Supper passed quietly, with the occasional compliment to my mother about the meal. It was just as everyone liked it. Afterwards, Grace and I helped my mother clean up, and soon enough, it was time for my parents to leave. My father grabbed his keys off of the counter, and with a few last minute instructions, they were out the door. I smiled and said, "alone at last."

Grace looked at me with love and shy, subtle lust in her eyes. "Let's go star-gazing, Amy. Please?" In response, I took her hand and we headed for the old swing in the my yard. We sat down, and I gently laid Grace across the swing, her head in my lap. I stroked her hair as we looked up at the sky. I pushed us off with one foot and held Grace as we rocked gently. I felt her sigh and turn slightly to look up at me. "Already, I don't want this night to end." she said softly, revealing her vulnerable side that she rarely shows to anyone except me. "Babe, it hasn't even started yet." I whispered, ruffling her hair. I knew she didn't really like that, and I grinned when she sat up, patting her neckline length soft blonde hair into place.

"Lets head inside." I said, rubbing away goosebumps on my arms.

"Okay." she replied, getting up and starting to walk.

"Oh no," I said mischeviously, "let me." And before she could say anything, I picked her up and carried her across the yard, her arm around my neck for balance. I kicked open the back door, turned around, and kicked it shut again once inside, the two of us laughing like little kids. Only when we reached the foot of the stairs did I put her down. She looked at me as if she was wondering what to do next.

"Wait here." I said. Little did she know what I had planned for that night. Smiling to myself, I went back outside and across the yard to the storm doors that led to the cellar. I opened them, grabbing my materials off of the stairs.

I worked quickly, spreading out the two king-sized comforters on the ground and haphazardly tossing six pillows over them. I turned on the lights lining the backyard, casting a warm glow over my setup. This was going to be a night Grace would never forget. I would make sure of it.
