Erase Me

After reading Nifty for the past few years, I decided it?s time for my contribution. This is based on a real relationship I?ve just gotten out of -- and would like to rekindle. I?m keeping this story as close to the facts as possible, but am changing names and places to protect anonymity.

++++++++++

Hi, my name is Nels. For starters, I?m 24 years old, 6?1?, have a lean swimmers build, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Girls and guys have always considered me to be ?cute? and I have done modeling and promotional work. I graduated from college last year ago, and currently work as an analyst, though this job isn?t where my heart lies.

I have been blessed to grow up in a nice suburb north of Chicago. While I moved away for University, I moved back when I found a job located in the same area I grew up in. I have one of the best friends anyone could have ? Evan. Evan and I are extremely close, though he?s straight. We?d take bullets for each other, but this story isn?t about him. He does play a role later on, though.

My story starts one day in June. Despite my looks and having been told by many that I?m ?quite a catch? I?ve stayed away from most relationships, preferring not to date or have a lot of sex until I know and am comfortable with the person. I?ve had a couple girlfriends in the past, and with the exception of one, my heart simply wasn?t in it and I considered them to be mostly ?play dates?.

I was always attracted to guys too, but I simply don?t like most gay guys. I don?t go to the gay bars which seemed more like a meat market filled with shallow folks wearing Abercrombie shirts for self-validation. Nearly everyone I know is straight, so that left me with the world of online dating. Slim pickings no matter where you look.

One day last June, I was using Grindr on my phone. I normally don?t talk with many people, but I got an IM from a guy named Bjorn. He also had a Norwegian name ? wow!

Bjorn: Hey dude, what?s up? Your pic is super cute!

Me: Thanks! Not much, just chillin with my buddy. You?re cute too!

We got to talking and hit it off. We exchanged a few pictures, though nothing dirty. I was intrigued ? he seemed exactly my type. He was 5 years younger than me, had the skater look I liked and dressed in as well, had shaggy hair, about 5?8?, and shared similar interests as me. He was in college, about to enter his sophomore year. Just my type! Despite having graduated, I still missed college immensely.

A few days later we ended up exchanging phone numbers and decided to meet up to watch a movie together.

I got to the movie theater on time and wound up waiting. The film was going to begin soon and I began to wonder if I had been stood up ? no show of Bjorn yet. Minutes passed? and I got a frantic phone call. ?Hey you! I?m stuck in the middle of construction traffic.?

?It?s all good dude. How soon til you think you?re here??

?15 minutes. I?m so fucking pissed off right now, I hate traffic! I can?t drive fast or anything right now, and I?m stuck behind an ugly ass Toyota Corolla?

?Chill out dude? it?s okay. Let me know when you?re here?

The kid had me intrigued. He seemed somewhat high-strung in this conversation. Normally I am a fairly laid-back person. I attribute this to my love of Mary Jane?

A few minutes later I got a call. ?Hey, I?m here. Standing next to the posters, I have a backwards cap on?

I spotted him and approached him. I gave him a handshake, exchanged greetings, then we went to get tickets, and off to the theater. On the way he commented on my clothes, as I was wearing a bright blue Burton shirt with cool design, backwards Nordica cap, jeans, and Osiris shoes.

?You look like a druggy! But I like it.? He said.

?Thanks dude. I like your look too.? He was wearing a black cap turned backwards, black and white checkered shirt, and shorts. Far less color than me ? and super cute.

Throughout the movie he kept bouncing his leg. He seemed high strung. Bounce bounce bounce bounce throughout the movie.

Not a lot happened through the movie, but as we were leaving and exchanged goodbyes, we decided to hang out again

?I had fun. Let?s do this again soon? he said. I looked him in the eyes, and could tell there was intrigue with him as well. He seemed to really like me, and I was intrigued by his funny personality, cute look, and jumpiness.

He hopped into his silver Acura Integra ? with black leather interior. I was even more intrigued ? I drove a silver BMW 3 series ? with black leather interior!

Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a great friendship? and many months on down the road, a relationship. A relationship which split month ago, and I would love nothing more to rekindle.

In the next chapter: another movie, the texting back-and-forth increases, and a random road-trip, including hookup!

++++++++++

Hey guys: thanks for reading. I?m sorry this first part wasn?t very interesting, but it gets much better, as our friendship becomes more intense, and eventually turns into a relationship. For those who are wondering, we broke up a month ago. This is my first true gay relationship, and for some reason I doubt that I?ll ever find someone who is so closely aligned to me, and who I want back. It?s difficult to find someone I truly like, and it takes a long time for me to warm up to a relationship. (I hope I didn?t just give away the ending!)

I look forward to hearing your feedback!
