Caleb
That Saturday was setting out to be cold and snowy like the day before. It wasn't enough snow for us to be on any one of the varying degrees of snow emergencies though, so that was definitely good news. I had been thinking about Nathan and I taking the boys out for the day. On Saturdays, we'd all usually go out for lunch, then out to visit Kevin and Cody. We'd also go and see Alicia and her husband or over to visit our parents. Sundays though, were our day to just stay home and do nothing. Sometimes people would come over, but not usually.
Once breakfast was finished, Greyson and Daniel got ready. Nathan was already dressed as I was, then once the boys were ready, we all left.
Since we left early, we went around town looking in different stores in the mall. We decided to do some Christmas shopping early and finish it after the end of the month. I was in one store looking at different crafts and other things that I thought Cody might enjoy. I pictured him in my mind's eye for a moment and smiled. He was the best person I've ever known and he always kept us all together when we had our dark times as kids. I truly loved him. I loved his kindness and caring for others. I was then snapped back to reality by Nathan putting a hand on my arm. I turned to my left where he was parked and he had me hold out my hands.
"This is something I figured that Cody would like," he said. I took it. It was a box that was hard and felt like crystal. Nathan told me as much when he began describing it.
"It's a crystal box and it has on the four corners of the lid a stone," he said. "On the top right-hand corner, there's a sapphire, on the bottom right-hand side there's a diamond, on the top left-hand side there's a ruby and on the bottom left-hand corner there's an emerald. It's lid has hinges and inside, it's all roil-blue satin."
I felt all of its outsides, then examined the inside. He was right, it was beautiful.
"Were you thinking of getting this for Cody?" I asked.
"Yeah," he replied.
"He'll love it," I said. "I know he will!"
"I think so too," Nathan agreed. Once we all four met up at the fountain, we talked about where to go for lunch. Once we agreed on our favorite café, we left.
I sat at the table waiting for the waiter to finish writing down the last of my order. The boys ordered, then Nathan, then I went after him. When the waiter left, Nathan turned to me and leaned in for a tender kiss.
"Aww," Greyson said in a sickeningly sweet voice. "Look, they're kissing."
"Of course we are," I shot back giving him a smart-ass smile. "What's it to you?"
"Nothing, just had to let you know that my need to be sarcastic is still here."
"Noted," I said.
"You might not get away with much of that in school," Nathan said smiling.
"Maybe not," Greyson replied. "Teachers need to learn to lighten up though."
"I smiled and then Daniel spoke up.
"Did you guys find everything you were looking for?"
"Yeah, we did," I said. "Nathan and I found all of what we need. Did you guys have any luck finding your gifts?"
"Yeah," Daniel said. "We found what we needed too and I'm sure everyone's going to like what we got them."
"You'd think that Christmas is tomorrow," Greyson laughed.
"It'll be here before we know it," I said. "Thanks Giving will be here, but it seems like it's going fast, time I mean."
"Yeah," Nathan added. "It seems like today has gone pretty fast as well."
We ate our food once it came, and after a little more talking when the dishes were taken away, I got out money to pay, then we left to go back home.
Once at the house, Greyson and Daniel went to their room and Nathan and I cuddled on the couch. Nathan took my face in his hands and pressed his lips tenderly to mine. We kissed slow and deep for a few minutes, then he ended the kiss softly and rested his cheek against mine while he spoke.
"I love you more than anything Caleb," he said softly, but with his voice thick with emotion.
"I love you too Nathan," I replied. "More than anything in this world. You've made my life complete and you make it better and better every day."
"You do the same for my life as well sweet heart," he said. "Even when I'm in pain from day to day, thinking of you helps me get through it and your faithfulness to me means everything."
"It means a lot to me too," I responded. "You've stuck by me all these years and I love you for that and will always love you."
"I'll always love you too," he said and we kissed again.
Leaning back on the couch with Nathan in my arms, we just sat there in the silence enjoying the feel of our arms wrapped around one another. I began to think of us and how it went for us when we were first getting to know one another.
Chapter 2
Caleb
Once at Nathan's house that first day of school, I let him show me around. He showed me the living room, the kitchen, where the bathroom was, then he lead me in to his room. It was large and as we stood in the doorway, along-side the opposite wall, was the bed. Against the wall to our right was a dresser, computer desk to the right of the dresser, and to our left, there was a bed-side table and next to that to its left, was a closet.
"Would you like to sit on the bed?" Nathan asked.
"Yeah," I replied. "I'd like that."
I sat down on the edge of the bed and Nathan transferred himself out of his chair and on to the bed beside me. He moved close to me and I could feel his arm brush lightly against mine. We were both wearing short-sleeved t-shirts so the contact was definitely noticeable and I felt an electric current rush through me. Nathan must have felt it too, because he gasped. It was soft, but I could hear it. I didn't say anything about it to him though. Something told me not to, so I just sat there waiting to see what would happen.
"So do you want to listen to some music while we talk?" he asked.
"I'd like that," I replied.
He told me where his Ipod was and he said that it was plugged in to a set of external speakers. I went over and turned it on. He said that I could just press play and the music came on. I recognized it as the album Once by the group Nightwish. I smiled.
"How's this?" I asked.
"That's good!" he said excitedly.
I went back over to the bed and sat down beside him. He moved a little closer to me and this time, his left leg was pressed against my right leg. I began to get hard and I did what I could to hide it. Nathan was breathing a little heavier, and he left his leg there for a moment, then moved it away. I immediately missed the contact, and when I thought about the feeling of his leg against mine, I also noticed the trimmers going through it. My thoughts were interrupted when Nathan spoke again.
"I need to lay down and get my legs straight out."
"I can stand up for a moment," I responded.
"Yeah, that's fine," he said.
Once lying full-length on the bed, he let me know that I could sit down again.
"Are your legs okay?" I asked.
"They're jerking and tightening up," he replied. "I'll be fine until my mom gets home though.
I could tell by the sound of his voice that it was hurting bad.
"I have Cerebral Palsy in my legs," he said.
cerebral Palsy is a neurological condition in which the brain has trouble communicating with parts of the body, and it can affect the legs, or the whole body. When it's in the legs in this case, it can cause an inability to control the movement of the legs which can cause a person to not be able to move their legs sufficiently enough for walking. There can also be muscle spasms as well as weakness which can add to the problems with walking.
"I can try to massage your legs for you," I said.
"That's okay," he said. "You don't have to do that. I'm surprised you'd want to."
"You're my friend," I responded. "I'd do anything for you."
"I'm sure I'll be fine," he said.
I moved closer to his legs and held out my hand for him to take. He took it and I held on.
"Nathan," I began. "If you're in pain, I want to help. I won't get mad or reject you because of what you have. I want to help and make you feel better if I can, okay?"
"Okay," he said unsure. "I'll let you do it, but again, if you change your mind, I'll understand."
"I won't change my mind," I said. "So what do I have to do?"
His shoes and socks were off already. He took them off right when we entered his room so I wouldn't have to worry about that.
"Just press in and rub up and down the back and front of my legs, then do the same on the tops and bottoms of my feet," he explained.
"Okay," I replied.
I began with his right leg and I noticed quickly, the tightened up muscles which were also spasming badly. I massaged and after a few minutes, the muscles began to relax. I did the same for the left leg, then I did the same for both feet. His feet were smooth to the touch and I was even more aroused at this point at the feeling of his skin. I wished I wasn't feeling this way, only because of the context of the situation.
"How does that feel?" I asked as I started on his left foot.
"Good," he said softly.
A few more minutes went by, then he spoke again. When he did, I could hear the smile in his voice.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you that you might want to be careful. I might start enjoying this too much."
I laughed and swatted him playfully on his foot.
"Smart Ass," I said.
"Yeah," he continued. "I kind of get off on thinking of a guy playing with my feet."
"Okay, that's sick," I said laughing. "I see how it is, now I know why you wanted me to do this."
"Yeah," he said laughing. "I'm a total fucking fetish freak."
"Oh god," I said. "What the hell did I get myself in to when I met you?"
"Oh, I'll teach you all kinds of dirty things," he said smiling.
We laughed at that, then the muscles in his foot were relaxed completely now.
"Are you okay now?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said. "Seriously though, thanks for that. I think you're going to be a really good friend."
"I feel the same about you too," I replied.
After I helped him with his legs, we had some cookies and a few chips. After having a couple of cokes, I threw the paper plates and cans in the trash then came back and sat down on the bed again.
"You can lay down beside me if you want," Nathan said moving over to give me room. "You look kind of tired."
"I am," I told him. I moved and lay down beside him. He moved so that his arm was resting against mine and I tried to keep myself from getting hard again. It wasn't working, and I hoped that Nathan wouldn't see it, and if he did then hopefully he wouldn't say anything.
Nathan
I couldn't keep myself from making some sort of physical contact with Caleb. I lay there with my arm against his and he was laying there with his face turned up the way someone who's sighted does when they're looking up at the ceiling. I could see in his eyes the enjoyment of our arms touching and I looked down and could see the twitching lump in his shorts. He had on black jean shorts and a hunter-green shirt with three buttons at the top of it. He was absolutely breath-taking and I knew that I was falling for him and hard. I somehow moved my eyes from his erection and looked back up at the ceiling. I wondered to myself if he somehow could still detect that people were looking at him, and especially if he could notice me watching the tent in his shorts.
Caleb
I could sense Nathan's eyes on my hardened cock. Of course he could only see the outline of it in my shorts since I was clothed, but he could see it none-the-less. I got a secret enjoyment out of knowing that he was looking at my state of arousal. I figured that he was hard also and I wondered where this would all lead. To something good I hoped.
He then moved his arm so he could scratch the side of his head, then he placed his arm behind his head and he rested his head on his folded arms and we continued talking.
"So would it be too intrusive if I asked what you look like?" I asked turning to look at him.
"No, not at all," he replied. "I have dark-brown hair and dark-brown eyes. I stand 5-3 and am around 130 LBs and I have a little baby fat still staying around, but I'm getting a little more thin as the months go by. As you've noticed when you've touched me, my skin is really smooth. It's kind of creamy, but I'm a bit tanned from being out in the sun."
"Damn, that's sooooo fucking hot!" I thought in my head. What I said was: "Sounds nice."
"Yeah," he replied. "I'm sure there's some people who think so. I'm glad you're one of them."
"Me too," I said. "Do you think any girls would be interested?"
"I'm not really sure," he said. I knew that I went in a direction he didn't want to go. His voice lost some of that happiness and he turned his head away. He spoke again. "I'm sure you'll have a lot of girls running after you though."
I knew he was trying to smile, but the tone in his voice wasn't happy. He wasn't angry, but he sounded kind of sad. It was as if he didn't like the idea of girls being interested in me. I didn't dislike the idea of girls crushing on me and I wasn't too worried about it since I was out to my family so I wouldn't have to cover with dating a girl. However, I didn't want to have to explain to every girl the reason as to why I wasn't interested in them as anything than just friends. I'm gay and knew since I was 12, but at that time, Nathan didn't know that about me. I guessed that his tone was sad, because he was already feeling for me the way I felt about him. I hoped I wasn't wrong about him having feelings for me.
"Have you went out with any girls?" I asked.
"No," he said. "I haven't."
"Neither have I," I said. "I wouldn't be able to do much with taking girls out on dates right now since I'm only 14, but I'd probably have to wait until I'm 16 for that."
"Yeah," he said. "So you're 14? That's cool. So am I!"
"Nice to have that in common," I replied.
My cell phone rang and I answered it. It was my mom letting me know that I'd have to come home early because my dad was working late and she needed help with dinner. I was sad I'd have to leave Nathan, but I kept it hidden and finished the call. I told Nathan what was going on and he sounded sad.
"Hey," he said smiling now. "Maybe you can come over for the weekend if you're parents are cool with it and if my mom doesn't mind!"
"Yeah!" I said smiling myself this time. "I'll let you know."
"I'll do the same."
That evening, I'd be walking home by myself since I had a talking GPS and Nathan told me earlier that day that his house was only a couple of blocks from mine. He knew this after I told him where I lived.
At the door, Nathan stood up and I let him put his hands on my shoulders to balance. He moved his hands and wrapped his arms around me. I hugged back and we stood like that for what seemed like forever. Eventually though, we ended the hug and I told him that I'd call him to let him know I got home safely.
Nathan.
Back in my room, I lay on my bed. I felt like crying. That time with Caleb was the best time I've had in a long time. I've had few friends over the years and it's mainly because of my condition. I'd get made fun of a lot for it over the years and it was made even harder when the pain from my spasms would get so bad that sometimes, I'd lose control of my bladder and even rarely I'd lose control of my bowels and when kids would be around, that's when the bullying would get even more hurtful.
Those far more painful attacks would happen when I was 11 and 12, but after we got with a doctor who tried a couple of different meds along with some massage therapy, the pain didn't get that bad anymore. The memories still stayed with me though of the kids and their hurtful taunts. The most difficult thing though was people who would always help me with things even though I would tell them that I could do it on my own. What they really meant, was that they would want to do it for me and just call it helping me. They'd also have the nerve to act pissed when I wouldn't let them do it for me, as if I was doing something wrong by refusing them! Mostly though, the hardest thing to deal with, was the lack of friends. The joking and sarcastic humor that I would use when talking with people were mainly bullshit and a smoke screen. I'm really lonely and feel alone a lot of the time.
I knew I was gay when I turned 11 and even though I wasn't out to kids, they'd always teas me for being gay. They didn't know I was, but I figured they would do it since they knew it hurt me more when they did. I wondered if anyone would ever understand my situation or even care about it. Would anyone ever want to share their life with me as boyfriends in spite of my condition, would Caleb? Would he want me as a friend in the long run, or even a boyfriend?"
That night, my mom had to work late. She called a few minutes after I closed the door once I saw Caleb vanish out of sight. I told her that I'd just order pizza and keep some of it warm for her for when she got home. I told her that she didn't have to worry about working harder when she got home to make something.
She worked as a nurse at the hospital and sometimes she'd have to check in on some of the patients who were in the ICU before going home and sometimes it would take longer, especially with the writing of reports for their charts, which was what happened this particular evening.
I continued to lay there waiting on the pizza to come when my phone rang. I looked at the screen and saw that it was Caleb. I smiled widely and pressed the send button to pick up the call.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey Nathan!" Caleb said and he sounded like he was on Cloud Nine. "I made it home safely. I just wanted to call and let you know like I promised I'd do, and I just wanted to hear your voice again."
"I'm glad to hear that you made it home safe," I said smiling. "I'm also glad to hear your voice too Caleb."
We talked a few more minutes, then we said goodbye and I put my phone back on the table. I hoped that I wasn't wrong about what I thought Caleb felt for me. I hope that my hunch was correct and that he liked me as more than a friend.
Kevin
I finished dinner and after talking with my parents and with Caleb and Alicia like we did for a few minutes after dinner which was one of our family traditions, I went to my room.
I let them all know about the creep who accosted me at my locker that day and they were all concerned, but relieved that I told them.
Once in my room, I sat on my bed feeling somewhat sad. Introducing myself to the kids in each of my classes that day turned up not much in the way of getting to know anyone. They'd say hi, then go back to talking to the other kids who they were getting to know, and others would just ignore me altogether. It wasn't getting off to a good start, but I hoped that it would get better.
Caleb
I sat at my desk reading and missing Nathan badly. It would be heaven to lay beside him again, or even to hear his voice once more that evening. I wasn't completely sure if he was gay, or if he even had feelings that transcended friendship towards me, but I hoped that it would be true and that my feelings about him liking me as more than a friend would be true and not imagined.
As that week progressed, Nathan and I were getting closer and I met his mom that Friday when I stayed over for that weekend. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Nathan came home to do homework with me and for dinner so he got to meet Kevin, Alicia and my parents and they all got along with him grate.
I hadn't gotten a chance to meet his mom until that Friday, because he would wheel himself to my house with me walking behind him and he'd leave my house the same way, but I'd be back at the house and he'd call me when he returned home to let me know he got back safely.
So when I stayed at his house that weekend, that was when things got even closer between he and I. It was the best time of my life.
Author's Notes
I think this is a good place to stop. Chapter Three will be the one where Caleb and Nathan share their first weekend together and they'll definitely get closer. This like my previous story, will be slow in introducing sex, but it'll eventually happen and I hope everyone will enjoy it when it does. So everyone have a good evening, and I'll see everyone in Chapter Three.
