Carter and the Biker Boy
Chapter 48
"Damn dude, it's so nice out today!" Parker exclaimed as we walked out of the exit doors at school.
It was indeed a beautiful spring day in late May that was more like a summer day in late June. The temperature was close to eighty degrees Fahrenheit, and we all had summer on our minds.
"It's so hard to believe that we've only got one more week of classes and then finals, and then we're done for the year! Our high school years will be half over!" Parker exclaimed as he hugged me tightly and gave me a small kiss on my lips.
"Get a room you two!" Noah shouted as he and Caleb walked out of the same doors, hand in hand.
"Why, you guys want to join us?" I boldly shouted back as several other students walked past us.
"Only if it's in Parker's basement!" Caleb added. Noah nodded and was acting like a little kid who wanted a candy sucker from the candy store.
"Damn, that sounds tempting, but we're planning to go out to Rock Cut to our spot. You guys can join us if you want." Parker offered.
"Are you going to give us a ride?" Noah asked
Parker looked at me and shrugged his shoulders, saying it didn't matter to him.
"Let's go!" they both said.
"Yay!" I exclaimed as we reached the Rav 4. Moments later, we were on our way to Rock Cut to our special place.
Since the end of January everything seemed to fly by quickly.
The rest of winter and early spring went by without incidents.
Caleb's brother Brennan got out of rehab and was doing good so far. He apologized to Noah, Caleb, Parker and me for his actions, telling us that he is not homophobic. He even resumed taking Noah and Caleb to the movies, joining them to watch one show, which is where he met his current girlfriend, Corrine, who was a ticket taker at the theater. His newly found life was suiting him well, evident by him and Corrine now faithfully attending church every Sunday.
John and mom's wedding plans were about finalized, so all we had to do was wait for August to arrive.
On the flip side of relationships, Parker's parent's divorce was proceeding along about as good as can be expected. His mom was quite certain that by early June it would be finalized, and the best news was that Parker and his mom would indeed be staying in their house near us. Parker's dad did invite him to go to Colorado over the spring break. Parker did tell him the only way he would go was if I could go as well, at which his dad's response was very frustrating. I'll just say that Parker refused to go based on his dad's comment. It's so disheartening, but we came to the conclusion that no one will be able to change his mind.
An exciting life event is going to happen very soon, in fact once school is over, we are going to moving into John's house with him and Jake! John and I have been working on a basement bedroom and bathroom for me, and since he has a walkout basement in his lower level, I will have a small private patio to call my own. Since neither Parker nor I have any sports going on this spring, it was a perfect time for us to work on my new room and bathroom. Even LT has come over to help us.
Speaking of LT, his transformation from being overweight, out of breath, out of shape Big Tony has been so incredible, and nothing short of freaking amazing! The dude hit the weight room at school almost every night. If there every was a poster child for dieting and working out, LT would be on the cover and the subject of the feature story on weight loss and body building. He's ripped! The best part of it all is that he's totally cool with us being who we are. In fact, I have to say that he is probably my best (straight) friend.
Once we move out of our house, John and mom have agreed that we will rehab the house over the summer. We're all totally stoked to start the rehab. Parker and LT have both offered to help, and even Caleb has offered. Noah said he'd offer his assistance with the interior decorating part, so of course Mom and John said that they'd listen to his ideas. And they are good ideas!
As for our relationship, it is still going strong. In fact, as we are now almost a year and a half into our relationship, it couldn't be better. We're going to have our birthdays again soon and John has promised that I'll love my birthday present from him and mom this year.
Something really crazy that I never thought would happen did indeed happen.
Back in early February just before Valentine's Day, the student council at school had a fundraiser selling roses. Of course, I bought a dozen for Mom which would be sent to her work. I also bought a dozen to send to Parker. Little did I know that he bought me a dozen as well. Same scenario for Caleb and Noah.
It all unfolded with the roses being delivered at school on the fourteenth, a Wednesday. They would be available to be picked up during the last hour of the day, from the student council office. The recipient of the bouquet would get a text message to come to the SC office.
So, both Parker and I were in seventh hour when our phones buzzed during the last fifteen minutes of class. The message was to go to the SC office, as there was a delivery for you. Of course, we knew what it meant. Neither of us knew that the other was going to buy for the other, as I stated earlier.
We both looked at each other and smiled as we got up to go to the SC office. A couple of guys on the wrestling team were seated by Parker and I heard one ask Parker "who's the lucky girl?" as he walked by. No one said anything to me.
When we got to the office, we were both surprised to read the card attached to the flowers. We then knew it was from the other. Parker was just beaming, and I was surprised too. BUT the most surprising thing of all was that Caleb and Noah were both there as well ahead of us, walking out with their roses in their hands. As we walked out of the office, we entered the hallway in time to see Caleb and Noah hand in hand, as they embraced and gave each other a kiss!
Since some of the girls from our friend group knew, or had a good idea about those two, as we were always hanging around with them. Suddenly the light bulb turned on and the realization that we were like them became crystal clear. Sarah, one of the girls who we think might be gay stopped us and almost daringly prompted us to do the same.
We looked at each other.
A little smirk came across Parker's face.
I felt my knees go a little weak, while at the same time all of the blood rushed to my pants.
He held his hand out to me.
I took it! I held it tight!
He pulled me to him.
And just like so many times before
We embraced, and our lips met.
We kissed, right in the hallway at school!
"YAY for Carter and Parker!" Noah practically shouted out, as other students close by looked at us. We broke our embrace and I went to let go of Parker's hand, but he held it tight and would not let go.
"YAY for Carter and Parker!" Caleb repeated.
"YAY for Carter and Parker!" Sarah almost sang.
We did it, we came out at school!
One of the guys on the wrestling team walked by, as did Angelo and another guy from the swim team. I feared the worst, but about laughed out loud when Angelo told the other guy "I told you! You owe me twenty bucks!" and then, "Congrats, guys. I'm happy for you both. You too, Caleb, Noah! No more cold showers for you Caleb!"
It was a great day and all my fears about coming out and being harassed at school could now be laid to rest.
Mom and John were both happy for me. Parker's mom was happy for him. Caleb and Noah were just happy.
Honestly, it felt so good to be ourselves at school. We did both decide to attend the gay/straight alliance meetings since there were activities and meetings that helped other students survive the same things that we've gone through. It really didn't change who we were at school, but it did make us feel more comfortable being who we wanted to be.
And so it went the remainder of the school year. We actually went to a couple of dances with Caleb and Noah, and afterwards the same things happened as they did that night in January. Let's just say that hot tub was part of our Saturday night ritual, and some weeknights too. When Caleb and Noah were over, we were past the stage where we needed to put our suits on before getting in. We were now comfortable being naked in front of them as we had an unwritten or unspoken rule that we'd never cross the line with each other's boyfriend.
And so far, that worked quite well.
I am sure there are those people, especially some of our friends, or even some of the people we met in the gay/straight alliance who really didn't know the four of us well enough that might surmise that we're four guys that are totally involved with each other. There were a couple of guys who were seniors this year who were convinced that Noah, Caleb, Parker and I were all involved together sexually.
Jaxon and Jason were convinced that due to the amount of time the four of us spent together we definitely were all up to something sexual. Jaxon is a total butch, tall, thin, and straight acting/appearing light skinned African American, whereas Jason reminds me more of a guy our age that's shorter than Jaxon by about four inches. He's also barely one hundred and ten pounds. He's openly gay, where Jaxon is not, but they do make a cute couple.
There are a couple of juniors and one or two freshmen that are part of the group, so it is kind of cool to get together with them once a week after school and talk about current issues that we face. With John as the sponsor/counselor of our group, it was reassuring that it would be a good group of students who were focused on whatever topic or cause we wanted to pursue.
It was liberating, which would probably be the best way to describe how we felt. We didn't flaunt it; it's not like we'd become the couple that were all over each other in the hallway like some of the slutty girls were with their equally as slutty boyfriends, but it still great to give each other a hug or a quick peck on the cheek as we went on our way to our next class. It was just funny to wonder about how many people thought that the four of us -- best friends by definition -- were something more that best friends.
"Tell us about this place at Rock Cut that's supposed to be so special, a place that's just for you guys." Noah seemed interested in figuring out just where our place was at.
"It's the neatest places in one of the most remote places of the park. Actually, we have two. The one that's remote actually is like an eagle's nest on top of a rock outcropping. The other one is in the middle of a field of tall grasses and bushes. No one, and I mean no one can see anything that's going on there. Which place sounds the coolest?" I asked. Caleb responded first.
"Oh, the eagle's nest place sounds the neatest. What do you think, hun?" He asked Noah for his thoughts.
"Hmm, I'm not much on climbing and you know I'm kind of afraid of heights, so why don't we go to the tall grass place?" he offered.
"That works," I replied. "We can point you in the right direction to the tall grass place and then Parker and I can go to the eagle's nest, how does that sound?"
"Perfect to me." Parker chimed in, once again preferring to spend some alone time with me.
"Works for me too then." Caleb agreed.
We parked in the closest parking lot to the two places and began our short hike. Wearing Hollister t-shirts and khaki shorts that barely clung to their waists, Caleb and Noah walked hand in hand behind us. Parker and I were wearing Cubs t-shirts and basketball shorts. I glanced over to see that he was definitely tenting in his shorts. It had been awhile since we'd been together.
We got to the fork in the trail where Caleb and Noah would have to walk about a hundred yards to reach the spot in the tall grass. They weren't quite certain that they'd be able to find it, so Parker and I agreed to take them there. We then told them to text us when they were ready to go.
When we reached the spot, they were surprised at how remote and secluded the area was. Some of the grass had been trampled down and Noah commented on how others had been there before.
"Oh my god there's a used condom over there in the weeds." He commented with disgust in his voice.
"Holy crap, you're right. That's new, it wasn't here in the fall." I realized that someone else found our spot.
"Yeah, well it is a secluded place for some hot young stud to get off on his little slutty bitch." Noah offered. We just laughed. "So guess who I get to be babe?" Caleb just laughed and told him "Come on over here, you little slutty bitch."
"Well, I guess you guys can add yours to the collection when you're done, you know just like leaving your initials in the bark of a tree." Parker laughed as he made his suggestion to Noah and Caleb.
"Oh honey, you know we don't use those things. I like to feel my man just as natural as he is." Noah and Caleb now embraced, kissing each other deeply.
"TMI" I laughed as we left them at their spot, eager to get to ours. I now know who would be on the receiving end when we reached the eagle's nest. It wouldn't be Parker. And it wasn't.
As soon as we made the short climb to our nest, our shirts came off. We immediately embraced and began to kiss. I was so horny for him, so I broke our kiss and began kissing his cheek, then his neck. Next was his upper chest and nipples. I sucked each of them, biting gently. He'd been sweating and I could smell the odor from his pits that was so intoxicating. I resumed kissing down to his treasure trail that was now pronounced as it had been slowly creeping up from his belly button since we first met. I licked it all the way to his waist band.
With ease and in one motion, I pulled his shorts and black CK boxer briefs down, and his dripping erection slapped back on his groin, pointing upwards, a stream dripped out on to his fine brown pubes of the trail.
Resisting the urge to swallow him to his root, instead I licked and kissed down to his hairy sack, taking in the musk that about drove me over the edge. I could feel my own leaking and knew it wouldn't be long.
Since it had been almost a week since the last time we were together, neither of us would last. No sooner had that notion entered into my mind and I took him all the way in my throat did he grab my head to hold my me down while his massive load went non-stop into my belly. He let go of my head just in time for me to breathe.
We kissed again for a moment when he quickly turned me around and pulled my shorts and briefs down. Without hesitating, his mouth found me, and when I felt his tongue inside I thought was going to blow my own load, especially when he grabbed me and started stroking it.
Never losing his erection, he got me wet enough to give me what I lusted after.
Damn, he felt so good.
I didn't last but two minutes before I exploded, shooting my load all over the rock, some of it flying past my face landing about a foot in front of me. It lasted in what felt like forever, and the spasms were enough that they triggered Parker's second load, which he deposited deep inside me.
Since he stayed hard, in one motion he pulled me onto his lap as we sat back on the rock. This time it took about five minutes or so, that felt more like fifteen, but as he moved inside hitting my spot more than once, his hand stroked me until I shot my second load, this time on my chest, my mouth and abs. Once again mine triggered his, and his third load mixed with the second.
Fortunately, I'd brought a couple of those guy wipes or whatever they're called, and as he pulled out, I used a couple to carefully wipe him off. Still hard and horny, we took each other in our mouths and settled in for a nice session, with the mid-afternoon sun warming our bodies.
Parker's fourth and my third took a little longer, but after doing some sack sucking and jacking with our hands, we both got close at the same time, so we resumed using our mouths and before long we both came at the same time, our bodies writhing in pleasure. Thank goodness the nest is large enough, otherwise we might have rolled off the rock. Pretty well satiated now, we pulled off and met in a massive kiss, our tongues probing deeply into each other's mouths as our juices mixed together, the taste causing our cocks to jump to action again.
So of course we went another round, with the same result.
Finally, after tasting each other in our deep kisses, we felt completely satisfied and drained.
With just our shorts and shoes on, we now laid back on the rock, gazing up into the sky above.
"Damn babe, that was...freaking amazing. I needed you so bad." Parker exclaimed.
"Thanks, mi amor, I needed you badly too! I thought I was going to start leaking out if I didn't get some action soon. I'm surprised I didn't have a massive wet dream last night." I laughed.
"That's crazy. Well yeah, I had one of those the other night." He confessed.
"No way, really?" I replied in disbelief.
"Um, yeah...why do you think I suggested we come here?" He smiled, alluding to what the content of the dream was.
"So, I take it we were up here when you came in your dream." I almost laughed but couldn't wait to hear the details.
"Yup, pretty much to script, at least for the first round. Thanks for making my dreams come true babe." We kissed again and probably would have gone again, but my phone buzzed.
"It's Noah. They're ready." I told Parker.
"Damn, already?" Parker responded.
"Yup."
And so, we climbed down and meandered back along the trail to the fork where they were just walking back, hand in hand, kissing. When they saw us they both smiled, obviously just as relieved sexually as we were.
"I LOVE this spot, Carter!" Noah exclaimed. "We've got to come back here again, right babe?"
Caleb nodded. "Yup. I need to break my record number in an hour!" he laughed as Noah slapped him on chest.
"Oh stop, you studmuffin! They don't want to know that!" Noah replied, laughing though as Caleb held up six fingers, a devilish grin on his face.
"Damn Caleb, you studmuffin!" We both laughed now as we reached the Rav 4.
It became our haven on several other afternoons during the last few weeks of school, including after finals. It turned out that all four of us had the same finals schedule, so it made perfect sense to head off to our spots after finals, which then helped us focus on studying for the next day's finals.
We must have found a secret formula for finals, as oddly enough the four of us aced all of our finals -- straight A's.
Finally, all the studying and preparing for final exams as well as the post-exam fun at Rock Cut came to an end. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to some of our friends for the summer, but for those close friends like Caleb, Noah, LT, and even Jaxon and Jason, the summer of fun was just beginning.
We had a couple of days before we had to resume working on my room in the basement at John's house, so at the urging of Michael, Parker and I decided to take him up on his offer to visit him in Chicago. Since it was easier to take the train from Harvard, a town about forty-five minutes east of here, we left the Rav 4 in a twenty-four hour parking lot and rode the train downtown, then hopped on the red line "L" train north bound for the Belmont Street stop. Michael met us at the station with Monty of course. He gave us both huge hugs.
"It's so great to see you guys!" I'm so happy that you can spend a couple of days with me! Are you boys ready to have some fun?"
We both replied that we were. As we walked east of the train station, I could tell that we were getting closer to Boystown, as they called the gay area where Michael lived. When we crossed the rainbow colored walkway at the intersection of North Halsted Street and Roscoe Avenue, our eyes lit up like we were little kids on Christmas morning. Along with the rainbow flags everywhere, there were guys holding hands, as well as girls holding hands too.
"Welcome home, boys!" Michael exclaimed, and we were both thinking that we were at his apartment. Not yet, but instead he was welcoming us to a safe neighborhood where we could be ourselves.
Michael's two bedroom apartment was located on the west side of Halsted on the fourth floor of a newer brown brick building that had not only a Starbucks in it on the ground floor, but also a Raising Cane's chicken restaurant and what appeared to be a gay bar as well!
"Come on in, guys, make yourselves at home, okay? Here's your room in here, and yes you guys are going to have to share a bed. That won't be a problem now, will it?" We both laughed and shook our heads no, which prompted Michael to say, "I didn't think so!"
His apartment was immaculate, was decorated impeccably, with a modern flair. What intrigued us the most were the black and white pictures of naked muscular guys, gorgeous guys at that in poses where everything but their genitals was visible. It was so hot, and neither of us could stop staring at them.
"So, you like my artwork, huh?" Michael caught us ogling at the photos.
"Yeah, I mean like wow." I stammered in my response. He just laughed. "Well now you know why I like it here, and of course having my own place. But hey, we should probably head out and do the tourist thing here if you boys want we can head downtown."
"Sure, that's fine." We both replied.
We took the redline back downtown and headed to Millenium Park to see the big, mirrored bean thing, then we walked to Navy Pier via the Riverwalk. We then hopped on a city bus that took us to the Willis Tower, where we went up to the observation deck. The view of the city was beyond amazing! When we looked at Lake Michigan, we could see how it curved to the east, and probably could see Indiana as well.
When we left the Willis Tower, we were getting hungry so we ate at an upscale outdoor Café that served Thai food. We each ordered Pad Thai and Tom Kar, which was amazing. It was cool to sit outside and watch people go by, and it was just cool to have a conversation with Michael as he told us more about his life in Chicago and living where he lives in Boystown. He told us more about his job at the hospital, and how he's much happier being back downtown than he was living out in the suburbs.
"I thought I'd like it out and away from everything, you know the hustle and bustle of it all. But when it came down to it, I really missed the neighborhood and seeing some of my friends here. After Tyler and I broke up, it was like I needed to get out of here, away from his memory. It worked for a little while, but then I missed all that the city has to offer, and yeah, I had a bigger place in the `burbs, but this is where my home is. I have everything close to my apartment, and until I meet Mr. Right, then this is where I'm going to stay."
It made sense what he said. I could see how having everything so close and being so close to the action that took place at the scene in Boystown. It would be so nice to live my life being who I am rather than be afraid of being hassled just for being gay.
When lunch was over we decided to take a taxi up to the shopping area on North Michigan Avenue. Wow was it ever amazing! The people were all dressed so well, and there were cute hot guys everywhere. And of course, when they noticed us with Michael, who is pretty hot himself, they would just stare at the three of us even though to us we didn't think we were that obvious.
We checked out Under Armor, Nike, Lego's (we had to check that store out!) and several other stores like the Levi store and a super cool place called Colores Mexicanos. I bought my mom a really colorful alebrije, which was made out of Paper Mache. The best way to describe it is that it sort of resembled a hummingbird but had all of the colors of the rainbow flag. So, I thought it really represented my spirit. My only hope is that she'd like it.
Of course we had to check out Bloomingdales, J Crew, and other stores at a place called 900 North Michigan Avenue. It's located just across the street from the Hancock Building and is full of upscale stores. Michael did by a few new outfits, mainly a couple of Armani shirts, and two pairs of Polo Ralph Lauren cotton shorts. He also bought a pack of three 2(X)ist no show black briefs, Medium size. The sales guy, Nico, was a slender guy who looked like he was in his early twenties or something like that who was helping him pick out the shorts and shirts. He was obviously gay and picked up on us as were practically drooling over the immense selection of underwear.
I think he heard Parker tell me that I'd look good in a pair of black CK ultra soft modern boxer briefs, while I told him that he'd look hot in the black CK intense power jock straps. We were having a fun time, almost too fun looking at the underwear when the sales guy commented that he agreed with both of us that either selection would look incredibly hot on either of us. We just blushed then laughed. Michael heard our conversation and did say that since he had a coupon for thirty percent off the entire purchase, if we wanted to throw the underwear in with his purchase, we could pay him back.
Since the idea of having the sexy underwear got both of us hard, which by the way the sales guy, noticed, so he was more than willing to give us another ten percent discount just for "making his day". We had to buy the underwear, especially since he and Michael were having a really good conversation about clothes and other things. Apparently his sister was a nurse at the hospital where Michael worked. It was becoming quite obvious to us that they were actually hitting it off, or was Nico just being a great salesperson?
Either way, both were giving off a vibe like crazy, and I was pretty sure that they would be going on a date soon. What was cool was that as the sale was about wrapping up, Nico asked who we were, and Michael introduced me as his future nephew and Parker as my boyfriend. It felt so cool to be introduced as his future nephew and as Parker being my boyfriend! I love Chicago! And as I had suspected, Nico did write his phone number on the receipt.
Finally, after being at Bloomingdale's for what felt like an hour, we finally decided to head back outside to the street. Michael was quite happy, actually.
"Well, my goodness, I certainly didn't think I'd meet such a cute guy that seemed to be as interested in me as I was in him!" Michael cheerfully stated, as a cute grin came across his face. "And he definitely thought you two make a cute couple! I've had so much fun shopping with you guys today!"
"Thanks Uncle Michael!" I replied, not surprised when Parker replied with the same response
"Thanks Uncle Mike! You're the greatest!"
"Awww, you guys are too much and waay to cute!!!" he replied, a huge smile now formed on his face. "Well guys, how about we head back to my apartment so we can put our purchases there. So I believe the Cubs are in town tonight and I have a friend who just so happens to have a couple of extra bleacher tickets for tonight's game against the Brewers if you guys want to go?"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Of course we wanted to go to the game!
We took the red line L train back to his apartment, and after he got the text from his friend Bruno, who was a fellow nurse at the hospital, the arrangements were made for him to meet us at the entrance to the stadium at six o'clock.
Wrigley Field was only a short four or five block walk, and by the time we got there to meet Bruno, the people were starting to go in and were quite excited about the game. Our seats were in the right field bleachers, right in the front row! We cheered for the Cub's outfielders and booed the Brewer's outfielders. It was a great time, and what made it even cooler was in the seventh inning Parker caught a home run ball off the Cubs center fielder who goes by the initials something like PCA that gave them a two run lead! And it turned out that it was his first major league home run, so when the usher came up to us and asked if Parker would give him the ball back, of course we said we would. He told us to hold on until after the game, and that he would look us up and we would go from there. We didn't know what that really meant, but Michael had already gotten a text from one of his friends who said he'd seen us on TV catching the ball and wanted to know who we were.
After the game, which the Cubs won by four runs, we waited around for the usher. We were about ready to leave but Michael told us to hold on for a few more minutes. Sure enough the usher came to get us and told us to follow him.
The next thing you know we're in the CUBS DUGOUT and out comes PCA, thanking us as Parker gave him the ball! He then gave Parker a new ball with his autograph, an AUTOGRAPHED HOME JERSEY and we got to take our picture with him! He then asked us if we were best friends, to which of course we said we were. He told us to wait a minute. He went back down the stairs, apparently into the clubhouse and came back a few minutes later with a signed jersey for me too! I couldn't believe what was happening! It was amazing as could be!
When we finally left the field and walked out of the ballpark, on the walk back to the apartment, Michael was still in awe over what had just happened.
"I can't believe how cool PCA is! OH my gosh! This is a story my friends at work aren't going to believe! I mean, we've had players that have come down to the hospital to visit the sick kids, but this -- I'm in awe! You guys are so lucky! I'm so happy I got pictures on my phone to prove it. At least the gang at work will believe me!"
We were in awe as well, and Parker was walking on air, being a lifelong Cubs fan. I was so happy for him. He was rattling off statistics about PCA, where the Cubs got him and so on. When we finally got back to Michael's apartment, it was close to midnight. We all took showers, separately of course, and then after Michael fed Monty and took him outside one more time, we all decided to get some sleep.
"Okay boys, have a great night of sleep. Don't stay up took late, okay?" He grinned and laughed as we told him "We won't, Uncle Mike, we promise!"
And we didn't stay up too long. A quick session of 69 and we fell asleep in each other's arms, wearing our new underwear that had us so excited we almost went again. The following morning Michael took us to a small café on Halsted that served light breakfast items and some killer coffees and lattes. From there we hopped on the L and went back downtown, this time hitting up the Field Museum, the Adler Planetarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, and finally had dinner at place called Ed Debevic's. It was a super fun burger joint that looked like it was out of the fifties, and the wait staff were purposely all very rude. There were a bunch of police officers in one of the dining areas and the waitress got on the intercom telling everyone that there was a group of "Chicago's finest" here, and then she made the pig call sound: SOOOOOOOEEEEEEE, and then she snorted a couple of times. It was so hilarious I laughed just after I took a drink of my soda and had it come out of my nose!
After dinner we took a taxi back up to the Hancock building, where we went up to the observation deck to not only see the sunset in the west, but also to see the lights come in and illuminate the entire city like we'd never imagined possible.
Finally after seeing the city lights seemingly go on forever to the north, west and south, and the outline of the lakeshore, evident by the lack of city lights, we decided to descend back down to the street level where we made our way to the L to go back to Michael's.
Our night ended in the same manner as the night before, other than not going to the Cubs game, but by enjoying a deep dish pizza at an open air restaurant in Michael's neighborhood. It was cool to watch the gay guys walk by. We couldn't stop watching every guy that walked by. It was great to not feel like we were being judged as we sat holding hands after dinner while Michael talked to one of his friends from the hospital that walked past us.
That night was a repeat of the night before, and this time we did go again.
Morning came early and unfortunately it was time for us to leave Michael to head back home. We gave him a huge hug and he gave us both kisses on our cheeks before we had to board our train to go back downtown to meet up with the train that would take us back to Harvard.
"Thanks Uncle Michael for letting us come to stay. We had such a great time!" We both told him.
"Anytime boys! It's my pleasure!" he smiled and replied. "I can't wait to see you boys again soon! Love you!" he smiled and almost yelled as the sound of a train rumbling down the tracks above us almost drowned out his words.
"We love you too!" Parker responded as we waved goodbye to him and went up the stairs to the L platform.
And just like that, we were on the train heading back home after an amazing time spent with our new uncle!
When we returned back home our moms and John wanted to know how our time with Michael went. Neither of them could believe how much fun we had. Of course they were all excited to learn about the home run ball Parker caught at the Cubs game and how we met PCA and got signed jerseys!
Jake was super excited for us getting the signed jerseys and about our experience at the game. He held the signed ball and was amazed at seeing an actual game ball with PCA's autograph. It was definitely a great time, and both Parker and I were excited and looking forward to the next trip we'd take into Chicago to meet up with Michael again.
It took us about ten more days to finish my room in the basement at John's house. Fortunately since the basement has an easy entry and exit through the exposed part of the basement, John did not need to have an escape window installed in my room.
The super cool thing about my new room is that it's easily twice the size of my room in our house. And then there is a family room area that John and Mom said I could use as my own, using the furniture from our house, and the while the shower and bathroom aren't nearly the size of the one Parker has in his basement, it is a private bathroom of my own, so it will be nice to not have to use the one upstairs.
I never thought that Mom and I would be moving from our house. It's quite surreal to think that we would be moving in just a few days. While I am super excited about moving to John's house, it's also quite bittersweet leaving our house. I mean I grew up in this house and have so many happy memories! The strangest thing happened the night before we were scheduled to move.
I was tired from working all day on getting things packed up. Since the next day was going to be the move date as John had rented the moving van and we had everyone lined up to help, Mom and John wanted to make sure everything was boxed up and ready to go. We got up super early like around five o'clock and worked non-stop until close to midnight. Mom had bought some take out chicken enchiladas from the Mazatlan restaurant and they were a little spicy, but I was hungry so of course I had a couple before going to bed.
Talk about a wild dream.
I was maybe nine or ten years old? It was like I hadn't started growing up yet, I was still a small kid. It was Christmas morning and I got up out of bed to run and see what I got for Christmas from Santa Claus. Sure enough, I was completely surprised to find a nice new mountain bike, red in color, with a huge Christmas bow on the handlebars. I was so excited, so I ran into Mom's room to tell her what I got and when she woke up, and much to my surprise, my dad was also in bed with her.
"What did Santa bring you, buddy?" he asked, trying to wake up enough to talk to me.
"He brought me a new bike, Daddy!" was my emphatic response. "It looks so cool!"
"I'll bet it does! That's so cool! I guess you've been a good boy this year, huh?" he said, smiling as he got out of bed and put his robe and slippers on to come out to the living room where the huge, decorated Christmas tree was now all lit up. "Well son, I know you've been a good boy, and you know how much I love you, so I know that Santa knows too. You keep being a good boy and you'll always get nice things for Christmas, okay?"
"I will, Daddy. I promise!" was my response.
Then it seemed like the day progressed into Christmas dinner with the family, and while everyone was there it seemed like a normal Christmas like what I was used to, but what made it different was that my dad was there. He was talking to my Tio Javier, my other Tios, and my Abuelito while they were all watching football. And the greatest part of that dream was that we were all happy and I felt like the luckiest boy around to have my parents together in a loving marriage.
When Mom knocked on the door to my room telling me it was time to get up, I woke up happy and she told me I had a huge smile on my face when she woke me up. When I told her about my dream, she just smiled and told me that my dream had a meaning, and maybe it was a sign of great things to come by moving out of this house and moving into John's house. It seemed like a good enough explanation to me, and after breakfast and a shower, I knew it was going to be a positive change for Mom and me to move out of this house and look forward to a new life with my new dad and little brother.
All of the help I had lined up to help us move did show up. Parker, LT, Chase, Noah, Caleb AND Brennan all showed up to help make the move an easy one. It was so nice to see Chase again, and to see Brennan be himself again. We were able to move everything in one truck load and by early afternoon, John took the truck back and I stayed at the house to gather up the things that we had planned to throw out. Since garbage pick up was the next day, I filled can after can with trash and took them out by the road. The last can was now filled and the house was almost completely empty. I pulled the can down by the street and was just turning around to look at the house when I saw a guy on a bike coming up the street. No, it couldn't be, I thought to myself.
"Carter-man! Is that really you?!" the guy on the bike shouted as he got closer. It was Dylan!
I didn't recognize him at first.
With long brown, shoulder length hair and an almost full beard and mustache, it did not look like Dylan. He had clearly been working out, as his muscular legs looked even more muscular. His arms looked like they doubled in size as well. I felt my stomach starting to get butterflies, and my heart rate was increasing by the second. Damn, he looked good.
"Hey Dylan! I didn't recognize you at first!" I replied, surprised because I really was surprised to see him. "How was your first year at UW -- Green Bay?" I asked.
"It was great. Surviving the cold and snow was kind of tough, but it's really not that bad. I had a good school year, met some cool people, even got a new boyfriend. And I got a job working for the Packers!"
"You did?" I responded, in awe.
"Yup. I'm part of the team that shovels the snow from the stadium on game day. I get a check from the team that says Green Bay Packers on the check! It's so cool."
He took out his phone and flipped through the pictures in his gallery to show me a picture of his first check. "Isn't that cool?" He remarked as he lifted his biking shirt up to wipe the sweat off his face. I couldn't help but be so turned on by his very pronounced six pack.
"Yeah, that is! Lucky you! So who's the lucky guy?" I had to ask.
"His name is Seth, he's from Milwaukee. He is a friend of my roommate's and it turns out we hit it off. Man, it's so cool to be out and be comfortable with being who I am. Are you and Parker still..." I nodded my head before he could complete the question.
"Yes, we are. Almost a year and a half, I think."
"Awesome, congrats. Anything else going on?"
I told him about Mom and John getting married in August, and how we were moving into John's house so we could do the rehab on our house starting on Monday. He was happy for Mom and me.
"Well buddy, I hope it all goes well for you. I'm so happy I got a chance to see you again. I've wondered how you were doing, and thought many times about texting you and all, but it seemed like something always got in the way of me texting you. I think about you a lot and do miss you. And now you're going to be a junior next year! Wow! Soon you're going to be a senior and on your way to college! I mean, look at how tall you've gotten! And those muscles! Dang, Carter! Can I have a hug before I get going?" I nodded yes and as he dismounted his bike we embraced. Feeling his muscles envelope me gave me an instant erection. It's funny how the mind remembers something or someone so favorable. I told Dylan that he felt good too.
"Okay Carter-man, I had better get going. I hope to see you around this summer. Maybe we can hang out or something. You still have the same number?" I told him I did. "I'll text you, okay?" I nodded my head and as he hopped on his bright red mountain bike and pedaled off, it only seemed appropriate that I would see Dylan on the last day that I'd be living in the only house I've ever known.
