Lets get this over with now: I own "Life's Expectations" and every character in the story. There are some events that have actually happened to me, but all the characters are fictional. If it is illegal for you to to view this in your location, then GTFO. You're probably gonna ignore that so have fun. Boy on boy happens in this story so if your not a fan of that, what are you doing here? Donate to Nifty, cause they give you awesome stories and you love them for it.
So it appears like I'm gonna be releasing chapters every week or so. I get bored start writing, get not bored. And so far no writers block! Mostly cause I send like every waking moment with this story in my head.
Last chapter was based more on meeting other people. I promise the "intro" or characters will be over soon, like this chapter most likely. You met Shira, Quin, Kyle, and Issac. Leaving out Gabe for the characters that have been mentioned. There has also been no mention of anything theater other than where it is in the school. Next chapter maybe, so intro's might be done next chapter.
This chapter will be about meeting more of the character that are in the grade 9 class. We've met all but Gabe in the grade 10 class, and we everyone in the grade 8 except Anthony, who you'll also meet. There's a few people I the grade 11 or 12 class that will be introduced later, but they are minor or not important really. So your gonna meet Anthony, Lucas, Shane and Chester this chapter. I'm not gonna say how, just to add suspense.
Zach's POV
It's now the first official day of school. We have to go back to homeroom for the kids that didn't bother to show up yesterday. I think there was only one or two from our homeroom that weren't here yesterday.
So Gage is in all of my classes except Cooking, but Sam is in that so I should be fine. My schedule looks like this: A: English 10, B: Science 10, C: Cooking 10, D: Math 10. So I'm in for a hard semester, Sam said yesterday though that if needed he'd let me work on some stuff while in cooking class.
English and Science were uneventful really, typical first day introductions. In Science we had a seating plan, but I got to sit beside Gage and Kyle is right behind us. For English though, the teacher said to sit anywhere, but if we were noisy he's move us.
It wasn't until lunch that something actually happened. I finally met Gabe, He's rather interesting, standing at like 6 foot tall. I got told he's 5 foot 11, but that's to fucking close to say he's not. He's got natural tanned skin with brown eyes. His medium long brown hair looked a little greasy though.
"So your Zach, your Aunt's kinda hot."
"Thanks, I think."
Gage laughed a little, "Don't mind Gabe, his mind is in the gutter most of the time."
"Do not!"
"Lady..." Gabe giggled a bit, I'm not sure what the reference was though, "He also likes to argue."
"Eh, Do not!"
I laughed a bit, "Point proven." Everyone but Gabe laughed at that.
"Even the new kid picks on me! God, why do you hate me so?" He puts his forehead into his palm.
"We don't hate you, per say," Coming from Shira this next part has got to be good. "You just like to be thwarting."
"Like to be what!?"
It seams like Gabe is the clown of the group cause everyone just keeps laughing. "It means defensive." Okay I gotta admit, without Quin's explanation I would have been lost.
For the rest of lunch it went on in a casual conversation. With me saying some more stuff about me. Sam seams the most interested, but Gage is always paying attention too. I threw in a couple of stories about my friends from down south and they would respond with another story about something that they had done. It was lots of fun and over far to soon.
When the warning bell went, we went our own ways. Me and Sam heading to the cooking room, while allot of the other went to the Drama room. We arrived and sat down is the kitchen closest to the front of the room. Mrs. Little comes into the room with a smile. I still can believe that they have Mrs. Little teaching Sam.
Mrs. Little is about 5 feet tall, with dirty blonde hair just a bit longer than Sam's. She's got the same gray eyes Sam has. You can clearly see how they are related that's all I'm saying.
As we settle down a bit I look over at Sam, "So how long have you and Gage known each other?"
"Since he was born. I was born in April, he's born in July."
"So you know like everything about him?"
Sam had a confused look on his face, "I'd like to think so. What are you getting at."
"His mom mentioned he was bi yesterday and that he'd think she was setting him up with me for the show and tell of the school."
Sam got a serious look on his face, "Ya he is, he told the school last year. Is that a problem?"
"No not at all!" I knew it would be like this but I still had to ask, "Mind if I ask you a personal question?"
"Only one."
"Are you... you know."
"What are you asking?" Shit, which one do I want to ask!? Should I ask if he and Gage are together? But his mom's in the room. Is he even out to his parents? Is he even out? Should I ask if he's bi too? God Dammit!
Just as I was about to actually ask the question someone walks up behind me, "Sorry to disturb you, but all the other table's are full, mind if I join you?"
"No worries, we were pretty sure someone would end up joining us."
So I turn around to see a 9th grader behind me. So Sam had explained that a lot of the Non-mandatory classes were split, but I guess I didn't believe him. This 9th grader was cute though. He had a little bit tanner skin than Gabe, and had chocolate brown hair to boot. His blue eyes showed through his glasses, which made him even cuter. Dammit, now I'm caught up on this guy. I think I started to blush cause Sam and this kid giggled a bit.
"I'm Shane, and your Sam right?"
"Yes sir! This is Zach, he started school with us this year."
That made me blush even more, I don't even know why. "Well, hi Zach. Has he hung out with you guys?"
"There aren't any worries about Zach. Oh, send me a text latter so we can continue our conversation, okay Zach?"
"Ya sure thing. What did you mean by 'there aren't any worries'?"
"A ex-friend outed me as gay last year. Gage helped me through it and Sam was there every once in a while." From the looks on his face he really liked this 'ex-friend'. Lets just hope I can work my magic.
"If that were me, I'd prob beat the shit out of him."
"Zach language!" It was Mrs. Little siting like 5 feet away, had she been listening the entire time?
"Sorry, Mrs. Little, it wont happen again."
"Well now that I have the attention of the class lets start today off." And true to her word the entire class was in full attention, more so on me than her. So she starts the class and has all this boring first day of classes talk. At least by Thursday we're gonna be actually cooking something.
What got me the most was Sam's looking at me from time to time when he thought I wasn't looking. I hope Gage and him don't have a thing, but I know I gotta respect it 1st and foremost. To bad, maybe I'll go for Shane...
Nick's POV – Earlier that day.
First official day of grade 8, lets do this! I got my favorite new cloths on and everything! I got a plain white t-shirt on, with a plaid button up over top. I only did you 2 of the middle buttons, but that's my favorite way of wearing button shirts. To top it all off I have my darkest pair of new jeans on. They are a little faded around the knee but I like them.
The worst part of all this is, Issac and Tanis aren't in my first class and I arrived like 2 seconds before the warning bell! So I have to rush through the hallways to my locker and then to the sewing room. Sure I saw them as we past each other in the hallways, them giggling at my tardiness but I have to show off my new cloths to them.
So got to my locker, got it opened, threw stuff in there, grabbed a binder, and closed it and booked it to the sewing room. Being late on the first day of school, Gage says it's normal, but I find it embarrassing. "Nickolas Bells..." There stood Mr. Knotts with his hands on the hips. "Where were you for homeroom before classes."
"Sorry Mr. Knotts, I'm still getting used getting up earlier than normal. I don't wanna be late for my first class though excuse me." Before he could say anything I was off and past the cafeteria entrance. I made it to the sewing room just as Mrs. Little was unlocking the door, good not late!
"Sit down at one of the sewing machines and face the board class." Was all she said. I was one of the last to enter so I had to see my options. Almost everyone in my grade had heard of 'Nick the gay boy' and a lot don't like me cause of it. "Nick why don't you sit down."
Still scanning my options around the room, I didn't really hear her. There was almost no safe zone in this class. Almost everyone was giving me the death glare. I started biting my lip and looking for the best option when someone coughed, "fagot" quite audibly.
I felt like running out of the room and hiding. But before I could do anything Mrs. Little spoke up, "Hallway now!"
I looked at her in shock, thinking it was me she was talking to, but she was staring right past me. "Who me!?" the voice came from behind me, it was the same boy that coughed.
"I will not tolerate any prejudice actions in my classroom. Now out in the hall now or office your choice." He just growled and walked out into the hall. "Now Nick if you could find a seat I'll begin the lesson."
"I would, but I'm not sure where to sit down." I went back to biting my lip and had a saddened look on my face. This was gonna be a living hell of a class.
"You can sit by me!" It was from the far back corner of the room. So I turned around. He had his hand up in the air to make sure I could see him, "Come on, I wont bite."
The entire class laughed at that, 'Nick the gay boy and his partner', that is what that kid is gonna hear from them now. I just walked over and sat down avoiding eye contact with anyone and anything. "I'm... Nick."
"Anthony, but you can call me Annie." Wait what!
"Annie?" As much as I tried to hide my skeptical look it was all over my face.
"It's usually only girls who call me by that name, but you seam really nice."
"Okay," I don't get this kid at all. "Annie." This kid looks about 5 feet tall, and with nice blue eyes. His hair is in between the length and curliness of our hair. Like it was shorter than mine but wavy. To Tanis it was longer and straighter. He is rather cute but I'm getting mixed messages about him. He's way to friendly to me, unlike everyone else, who thinks I'm gonna hit on them.
"Let me see you schedule so I can check what we got together."
"Uhh, okay." I handed him my schedule and he went to work. It turns out we have this and Science together and he wanted to sit next to me in Science. As the class went on and Mrs. Little gave us a piece of paper to 'sew', or rather poke holes into, he and I talked.
I learned he went to the school down the hill, while I went to one of the schools up the hill. He was one of those kids that everyone liked at school, but was rather a loner away from it. I kinda felt bad for him, even though I was kinda like him. I was a loner at school but had amazing friends away from it. The only person that hung out with me at school was Tanis, and he's my best friend cause of it.
So that class ended and I met up with Tanis and Issac in the hallway and introduced them to Annie. The name kinda stuck with me, although he wanted them to call him Anthony. Me and Tanis had Gym, Issac had Math, and Annie had Socials. Issac was actually in Math 9 cause he took grade 8 math last year in his private school.
Oh I should explain the elementary schools. There's 3 of them up the hill and 1 down the hill. There's a big hill in town that goes right down the middle of townish. So up the hill is a catholic private school, and 2 public schools. The public schools are different neighborhoods, but my old school and the private are semi-near each other.
So we walked around the school till the warning bell went, said our good byes and went to class. Me and Tanis walk into the Gym class and there's Sam sitting in the bleachers. So we walk over to him, "What are you doing here?"
"Oh ya we didn't warn you, grades share gym class, there's always two or three in classes at the same time." Great so I'm gonna have a bunch of grade 10s in the locker room with me. "Don't worry, I'll be around to help you."
So once the class got started the grade 10s went to the other side of the bleachers while the grade 8 girls came to our side. Mr. James Explained how we would be spending a lot of gym classes with the grade 10s and that we'd be sharing the change room with them.
One of the other boys in my class spoke up, "So you don't have another change room for special cases?" I knew he was talking about me.
"What do you mean by 'special cases'?" Mr. James had a very serious look on his face. He is the stereotypical fat, balding gym teacher. The thing is though, he doesn't seam like the creepy kind, that's the grade 10's teacher.
"Boys who like boys."
I avoided eye contact from everything and everyone, and the teacher noticed. "If you feel uncomfortable with changing in a room filled with growing teenage boys than I suggest you find a different place to get changed. I will not exclude anyone because of which gender they prefer. If you are so strongly opposed to it, than talk to your parents about it. That is all that will be said about."
I was dumb founded by the teacher's response and I knew from that moment on I would have nothing to fear. "What if he tries to... you know."
Mr. James was clearly agitated as he called to the grade 10 class. "Grade 10s," He caught all their attentions and their teacher had quite the confused look, "Who of you has had a Gym class with Gage Bells since he came out last year?" About half the class raised their hands. "The boys who have, can I borrow you for a second?" They stood up and walked over, among them was Sam. "Has Gage ever tried anything inappropriate in the change room, ever?"
A simultaneous "No sir" was said.
It was Sam who had something to say more though, "Why are you asking?"
Mr. James smiled, "It seams that one of these grade 8s has a case of homophobia and doesn't want to get changed with any boy who may or may not be gay."
"But Nick is..." I was totally caught off guard when he said my name. For the second time today I wanted to run out of the classroom, at least this time I could get some class credit for it. I just closed my eyes and felt, maybe Tanis', hand rubbing my back.
"Jake Milton, I know for a fact that you and my brother Peter have slept in the very same bed with only boxers on!" The entire class laughed, I could even hear the grade 10s. "So don't even get started on a rumor that has been going around for a few months. Transfer Gym classes if you don't like it!" Sometimes I love Sam, now was one of those times.
"I think the classes should go down to the gym floor and play around for a bit." It sounded like everyone was about to get up, I still hadn't opened my eyes. "Except for Sam, Jake, and Nick. Everyone else may go."
Sam sat down to my left, Tanis still at my right, and pulled me close, "You okay little guy?"
"I'm not that little, I'm only 2 inches shorter than you." I rested my head against his shoulder, Tanis still rubbing my back.
"Sounds like you're okay, but I'm gonna stay here just incase."
Jake stayed at a distance just glaring at me and Sam. Mr. James had gone to his office on the other side of the gym. It had a window to the gym, so Jake couldn't go anywhere without getting into more trouble.
About 5 mins later Mr. Jame came across the gym and came right to us. "Jake, apologize to Nick, sincerely."
"Why should I?"
"Cause I have phoned your parents, and they are not permitting you to change gym classes cause of your phobia."
"Its not a phobia!?" Jake was clearly upset at what his parents had done.
"If you believe a rumor, and you don't want him in the change room because of that, then I believe you are afraid. The truth of the matter is you stepped over a line by using Nick's name as an example and have visibly hurt his feelings. Now apologize or go to the principal's office."
"I'm sorry Nicolas." I could tell it wasn't sincere as Mr. James had hoped for.
"Now run 2 laps around the track then you may join in the floor." Jake was about to get up, "But first, Sam apologize to Jake for using him as an example."
"Sorry, Jake." It was much more sincere sounding than Jake's was.
"You have to run just 1 lap before you can join in with the class."
"What!? That's not fair at all!" Jake glared at Sam.
Mr. James let out a big breath, probably calming himself down. "If you hadn't verbally attacked Nick, then Sam wouldn't have had to defend him. Sam gets fewer laps because he was helping someone but still crossed a line. Now before I make either of your lap amounts larger, go!"
Jake was up and outside in 10 seconds, Sam gave me a reassuring smile before going outside. The other gym teacher was standing at the doors watching both the track and the class. All that was left was me and Tanis in the bleachers. Tanis was still rubbing my back, he hadn't stopped.
"May I go down and play now?" I didn't want to stay in the bleachers any longer.
"1 second I have something to say." He sounded nice and calm, but I barely looked at him as my face was facing the floor. "I don't need to know if this rumor is true or not, and honestly I don't care. I'd like you to know though, that if anyone in the school bugs you about it, just tell me, and I'll help you solve the problem okay?"
"Okay. I just have one question." He nodded, so I can ask it right? "Why are you so nice to me?"
"I believe that people are equal no matter who you are, or who you like. I also just so happen to have a gay son, who lives with his mother. Now go have fun out there."
"Yes, sir!" Just as me and Tanis got onto the gym floor Sam came back in, sweat running down his face. He just smiled and we started playing basketball just a one on one on one game. Sooner than later the class was over and it was lunch.
Lunch went without incident and then me and Annie got on our way to Science class. We had Miss. Albore, who sat us down alphabetically. The good news was Annie was right behind me, but I was sitting next to some Lucas person. There wasn't even a Lucas in my homeroom. So I'm rather confused.
A minute later a boy walked up to the desk I'm siting at, "So you're Nicolas?"
"I prefer Nick."
"Oh, sorry, Nick. I'm Lucas, we'll be sitting beside one another I guess." He had a nice smile on his face, his blue eyes almost shining. His blond hair was about my length but was going down around his face, not swiped over his eye like mine. He must have been about Sam's height, so 5 foot 2. He seamed like a nice guy.
"This may sound to straightforward but, why aren't you in my homeroom if you are sitting beside me?"
"Hehe, funny story." He sat down and put his backpack to his right. "I actually failed this course last year, I'm in grade 9." His smile never left his face. He is really cute!!
"Oh sorry."
"No worries. So how is your first day going so far?"
I let out a sigh, and laid my head on the desk, "First block Annie, here," I pointed to Annie behind me, "Save me from having to sit beside some assholes. Gym was humiliating cause a kid talked about the rumor I have. He was afraid of getting changed with me in the change room."
"Well that sounds like a crappy day so far. How bought I make your days here better?" Such a beautiful smile on his face, even if he has braces.
"You do that, and I'll make sure you pass this time around."
"Deal!"
Science will probably be my favorite class, even with Issac and Tanis in my Math next block. I just hope not everyday is gonna be as stressful and this one. The beginning of high school with everyone knowing the rumor that I'm gay. It's so stressful, cause I don't know what to do. But Lucas, Issac, and Annie will make everything better!
Gage's POV
So at lunch I heard about Nick's Gym indecent, and he made me promise to not do anything. I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and I spent most of Drama class grumbling about the promise.
Drama class is not a rumor spreading class, just so you know. It's about acting in a theater, and the techie side if you ask for it. I'm basically a Techtor, a techie actor, So I'm still acting in this class.
I've got Kyle an Gabe in here but it would be better with Sam. Chester is also in our Class, so it's a little better. Chester was in grade 9, but the Drama class is half grade 10s, half grade 9s.
Chester has dirty blond curly hair, and hazel eyes. He's about 5 foot 2, the same height as Sam. His hair was probably half the length of Sam's but stays quite tight on his head.
Drama went by normally, we played 'have you ever'. A game where the person in the middle of a circle of chairs says "Have you ever..." and then something they had done. The people making the circle then have to move at least 2 seats away if they had done it.
After Drama, me, Zach, Kyle, Gabe, and Chester had Math. Chester took math 9 last year thanks to his private school's programs. We got to sit together on the first day and the class went by smoothly. At the last five minutes Zach got a text though.
We just stare at him while he fishes out his cell to check who its from, "Sam." was all he said.
Once the bell ran he read the text, "So what does Sam want?"
"He wants me and Gage to meet him by the theater."
"Just you two, well that's lame." Gabe says many, many things are lame.
So I just smile, "Can't be helped, you know Sam."
We all had a laugh and we made our way to the theater, Zach and me. We see Sam patiently waiting for us. When he sees us coming he heads towards us, "What's up, dude?"
"I thought we'd continue our conversation from cooking."
"What conversation are you guys talking about?" I was very much confused.
Zach blushed the most I've seen him blush, "Well it was more or less about what your mom said when she volunteered you to show me around."
"Oh, okay."
"She mentioned that you were bi." There goes Sam getting straight to the point. "So what were you gonna say before Shane interupted? You know that one personal question."
Why did I have to be here for this? We ended up near the end of the Drama wing. Not many people were here and we could have a semi- confidential conversation. "Well, I was gonna ask you and Gage..."
"Oh... you mean... if me an him..." Sam had a blush going, Zach just nodded his head. "Um" Sam took out his phone, "You are to delete this message after you receive it, in front of me."
Zach nodded again, I am so lost. Sam sent his text and Zach got it a half a minute later, "Same goes for this one."
"Iphone, can't but no one ever looks at my phone don't worry." Zach sent his text, and Sam just smiled, "May I show Gage?" He nodded vigorously with a RED face. Sam showed me his phone, It read:
Sam – Me and Gage have had a thing for each other since we were 12
I'm bi as well.
Zach – I'm gay
"Well that makes 5 boys in school that we know of." That was all I could say. Of course it was quieter than normal though.
"5? You two, Shane, me.... And?"
"Pheonicks have bells you know."
He looked dumbfounded, "Seriously!?"
"And that is equally a secret."
From that we said our good byes and our respectful ways. I left through he Drama wing doors and started heading home. To get 'rape hugged' by Nick, as he calls them. We walked home together, and He starts talking about some Annie kid and Lucas Bear, a 9th grader.
It seams he's having a good time. I just hope it lasts, even after he tells some people he might be gay. Once we got far enough away from everyone, he made me promise that I would share my knowledge of the tech crew with him. So just tell him everything I know, right? Wrong, I gotta give him all that info next Tuesday morning, in the form of cum. Not sure if he understands that sharing my knowledge doesn't come from that head. Oh well to late now, a promise is a promise.
Chapter END
So I finished re-watching Gundam SEED so lets celebrate with a new chapter! I love my Gundam SEED and this is like my third or fourth time watching it. So now I'm gonna watch Gundam SEED Destiny and rage at Shinn while seeing who will email me.
Once again I would like to mention that I am still not decided on the forth boy, and your input would be helpful. I am strongly going towards Issac though. I hope you enjoy the chapter and have an awesome December! I'll try and post a few chapters, but who knows. XD
