I got ready for work, I was thinking about Mack; what I thought about him, how I felt about the time we had spent together, what he had said last night, the fact that he was still holding the key, and him just getting up and leaving at 5:30 in the morning without so much as a goodbye. What bothered me most was what he had told me the night before. He told me that he was married to hid high school sweet heart and that they has a 15 year old son. He said that she was the only woman that he had ever been with, and the only woman that he had ever wanted to be with. Things between them had changed though, she was a different person now. He didn't even know who she was anymore, and was questioning who he was. I really did like Mack,; he was a cool guy. He was always calm, cool, and collected. He was handsome and there was never any doubt that he was all man. He had a lot on his side.

However, I was too old and too smart to get involved with a married straight man. Nothing good ever comes from that.

When I got to work I saw Mack sitting in his truck. I got out and headed towards the office; ignoring Mack. He got out and jogged up to me. He said wassup, I said morning. He told me thanked for listening to him the night before and for rubbing his head. He said he really felt better. I said that was good, I was trying to be cold and uninterested; he picked up on it. He ask what was wrong with me. That was my invitation so I told him. I told him that I didn't appreciate him just getting up and leaving without saying anything, thats how you treat a hoe and I aint a hoe. I wasn't going to be somebody's experiment to see what they really wanted. I wasn't going to be a booty call. He kind of chuckled and said man I got up and went to the gym, I go to the gym at 6:00 everyday, I've been doin that for years, it helps me to clear my head. I apologize for not saying anything, but you were asleep. I wasn't trying to treat you like a hoe. I jus didn't want to wake you up. He said for me not to make up my mind so quick, and that we would talk about it later. I told him I guessed that would be ok.
