A New Popular Boy in Town, Part V By Pandor Wallace

IN THE LAST EPISODE** Sean just stood dumbfounded while Josh ran to the car and came back, hiding something behind his back. Josh asked Sean to close his eyes. When he opened them, Josh was holding a purple teddy bear that was clutching a purple rose.

"Consider this a peace offering Sean. I like you and I would like to get to know you a little."

Josh leaned in and kissed Sean lightly on the lips, letting his tongue make contact. At first there was some resistance; however, Sean finally relinquished control and fell into the kiss as both boys stumbled into the door way. Gasping for air, Sean lightly pushed Sean away.

"Josh I don't know what to say."

"Just say that you will get to know me, be my friend and support me as I sort things out." ************************************************************************ Sean's mind went blank as he became consumed in a cloud of confusion. His initial plan, was to tell Josh they couldn't fool around anymore. Now...

"Just as I'm about to tell Josh that I can't see him anymore, he puts his heart and soul on a platter for me. Damn, what am I supposed to say now?" Sean thought

"Sean? Are you there? Did I say something wrong?"

"No Josh. You didn't say anything wrong. Ah...everything is fine. I just need a little time to think. Things happened a bit fast with us and I am new to this town. I need to sort some things out before I decide to make any commitments."

Josh grabbed Sean's hand and looked into his eyes. "I understand, but I want you to know that I am willing to back track and take my time with you. Why don't we just start out as friends first. No sex and no expectations. I don't know what it is about you Sean, but I feel like I can really relax when I'm with you."

Sean tensed up a little and slowly pulled his hand away.

"Well, lets talk about this later. Right now, we better leave or be late for school." Sean said

Josh and Sean jumped in the car and sped off for school. They raced into Kennedy High's student parking lot and stole the last parking space from a unsuspecting Freddy Wong, one of the biggest geeks in the school.

"Sorry Freddy. We are running late. I got ya next time."

The two guys jump out of the Beamer and sprint to their first period Bio Class. Just at they are approaching the class room door, Sean realizes that he is still holding the Teddy Bear and Rose that Josh gave him. "Oh shit Josh. I still have the gifts in my hand.

"Screw it!"

"But...."

"We can't worry about that now. We are gonna be late for Glass. You know how she gets" Josh interrupts

Both boys casually walk into the class room and head towards their seats. Sean immediately noticed that Harrison was staring at the stuffed animal and rose in his hand.

"How am I going to explain this to Harrison?" Sean mumbled

"What?" Josh asks

"Nothing." Sean quickly replies

Josh greeted all of the well wishers and gave Brooke, his girlfriend, a soft kiss on the cheek. Merry Cherry, the psycho southern belle turned around in her seat and smiled at Sean. "Hey Seany!" Where did you get the cute little bear and rose? Is it for me, or do I have some competition?"

"Oh Merry Cherry, there is no competition for you. This gift is actually for one of my little sisters. She is getting her braces taken off today, so I thought I would get her a cute little gift."

"My stars. You are a hunk and considerate too!" Merry Cherry reached over pinched both of Sean's cheeks.

Harrison overheard the conversation of his two classmates and became somewhat disappointed because he thought that the bear might be for him. Sam, one of Harrison's best friends, noticed his solemn look and tried to console him."

"Harr? What ever it is it can't be that bad."

"I'm fine. I was just in deep thought."

"About what?"

Harrison stumbled over his words. "Ah...About next weeks English exam?"

"Please. You will do fine. You read 'A Catcher in the Rye' every summer. The exam should be a breeze for you. Besides, I didn't know that the new guy was going to be on the English exam."

"Huh? Wha...what are you talking about?" Harrison stubbled

"Harrison, please! I am not an idiot. I saw you checking him out. I am your best friend. You don't have to hide anything from me."

"Yeah I guess you are right. But you better not breathe a word of what I'm about to tell you to anyone."

"Bet!" Harrison and Sam chatted while Glass jotted notes on the board Mean while, the rest of the afternoon seemed to fly by. Sean eventually was able to put his "gifts" in his locker. He was feeling really guilty about Josh. He liked Harrison, but it was something about Josh that kept him interested. For most of the day, Sean avoided Harrison because he didn't want to deal with the conflictual feelings. This was definitely a case of "To Much To Soon."

Sean was on his way to lunch when someone grabbed him from behind and mumbled "Dinner at my house tonight."

"Who is this?" Sean laughs

The person mumbles into his ear "The person who kissed you this morning."

"Josh stop playing. I have to go to lunch."

Whoever it was let go and Sean turned around to discover it was Sam.

"Hi Sam. Gootcha!" Sean said unconvincingly.

"I am sorry Sean. Harrison wanted me to introduce myself and to bring you to our lunch table."

"Well, it is nice to meet you. I wasn't sure who it was covering my eyes. That's why I said the whole Josh thing. You know I was kidding, right?

"Honestly Sean, if Josh did kiss you this morning, you wouldn't be the first or the last. I bet he would jump a boy in a minute. You are the hottest gay guy in the school.

Sean threw a bewildered and anxious look at Sam. "How did she know I was gay?" He thought.

"I know you are probably thinking, 'How did she know I was gay?' You know, you are totally a muffin and everyone has been checking you out. Also, I'm the only one that knows about Harrison and he is pretty excited about getting to know you."

He was so stunned that he could only muster up a simple, "Oh."

"I didn't freak you out. I mean, you don't have to worry about me saying anything."

"No problem. I was just a bit surprised. So, Harrison likes me?"

"Yeah, he couldn't wait to tell me about you guys doing 'homework.'"

"Ah...cool."

Josh and Sam continued chatting as they strolled to the lunch room. Sean was glad that he and Sam were getting along and that she was cool about his sexuality. As soon as they walked into the lunch room, Harrison and Josh spotted Sean, stood up and yelled "Hey Sean, over here! I saved a seat for you." Both guys turned and glared at each other and then faced Sean's direction, giving him that "Well are you coming?" look.

"Well, Sean. It seems like you are a popular boy." Sam giggled

"Yeah I guess. What am I going to do know?

"You're going to have to pick one or the other."

"Your telling me." Sean thought

******************************************************************** Well that is it guys. I am sorry for the delay. I promise to get the next one out before the end of the week. Rest assured that it is going to be very steamy!!!! As usual, comments and suggestions are always appreciated (pammonds@rocketmail.com) *********************************************************************
