Pains of Forgetfulness

Welcome to the seventh installment of POF. I hope you like this story because I've had a blast writing it. You know the rules. If you're not supposed to read this, then don't. It's that simple. This story is about the pains of forgetting your true love.

I have no idea whether any members of *NSYNC are gay, but hey, I can dream. :) Any similarities to real people in this story are purely coincidental. Well, enough warnings, I hope you truly enjoy this story.

Comments are welcome at: mikeyboyz1029@hotmail.com. I would love it if you dropped me a line. Ok, now to the story.

Chapter 7: The New Adventure

Lance stood in the lobby of the hotel waiting for Michael. Just then his cell phone rang.

"Hello? Hi, Justin, did you get my message?" A pause for Justin's response.

"Well, just tell management to calm down. I'm going on this trip to sort a few things out. They can reschedule the next concert or so. I shouldn't be gone long, a few days at most." Another pause.

"I can't tell you where I'm going, but if you need me, just call me. Michael and I need a little rest. Things have been rough for us lately, you know?" Another pause.

"I'll be careful, Justin. Hey, I gotta go. Mike's coming down. Talk to you later."

Lance put away his phone as his boyfriend walked up to him.

"Ready for lunch?" Lance beamed at Michael.

"Hey, what's my surprise, first?"

"Later, we're going to lunch first."

"Ok, that's cool."

"I'll give you our surprise after lunch, I promise."

"Ok," Michael said as he bobbed his eyebrows. "Just make sure you do." He laughed.

Lance stood outside the hotel waiting on a cab. What would he do without Michael? He didn't want to find out.

After finally flagging down a cab, Lance and Michael were on their way. They ended up at a cozy little Italian restaurant. Both Lance and Michael loved Italian food, and they had gone to an Italian restaurant on their first date.

"Michael, do you remember our first date?" Lance asked.

"Yeah, I remember how nervous I was about the whole date idea. I was a wreck, especially because I realized I was with Lance Bass, the man of a girl's dream."

"Hey, I didn't realize you were a girl."

"Hey, watch it Mister, or you might not get any nookie." Michael laughed. Lance blushed, but then he laughed.

Oh my, I love it when he does that, Michael thought. He's so cute!

TALK ABOUT LOVESICK TEENAGERS! [sorry, the writer just had to say something there! :)]

"But after the first date, I realized you were just a normal guy, and the 'celebrity' feelings wore off."

"Hey. . . I thought you loved me because of my popularity. Well!" he said in mock anger, "I'll go find someone who wants to mooch off my popularity!" Michael started to laugh, and Lance joined in with him.

They both enjoyed their meal, and it was almost like a celebration, or actually a reenacting of their very first date.

Nothing is stronger than teenage love, and after their meal, Lance flagged another cab.

"Ok, Michael, I know you're going to hate me for this, but it's part of the surprise. I'm going to blindfold you until we get to where we're going."

"Oh, man. I hate blindfolds. I wanna see some action."

"I know you do, baby, but it'll be more of a surprise that way." Lance talked to the cab driver and Michael couldn't hear what was being said. When Lance and Michael got in the cab, on went the blindfold, despite Michael's protests. The cab started on its journey.

"I'll be by your side the whole time, so just listen to my voice."

"Oh, I'll be sure to listen to your sexy voice. Hey, this is fun. I get to learn to appreciate how sexy your voice sounds, instead of looking at your hot body."

"Awwwwww!" Lance leaned in a gave Michael a peck on the cheek. Michael turned toward Lance and pulled his guy into a soft and loving hug with his blindfold on.

"We're here." The cabdriver said, ignoring the couple's affections for each other. Nothing new to him in a big town like Charlotte.

"You need to take your blindfold off. We've got some walking to do, and I don't want you to fall."

"Oh, we're at the airport."

"Where did you expect our excursion to go?"

"I didn't have a clue. Where are we flying from here?"

"I can't tell you that. That's the surprise. Our bags have already been put on the plane, so all I have to do is grab our tickets and board the plane."

"Wow, it sounds like you've been busy." Michael said.

"Yep, I've been busy all morning." Lance said as he walked up to the ticket counter. He came back moments later with the tickets and they made their way to their terminal.

Fifteen minutes later, they were in their seats in first class. The thing about Lance was that he hadn't let all the fame from N*SYNC get to his head.

He still was a very humble person, even with all the fame. He didn't gloat that he had money, and that was a good quality.

"I'm so glad I'm getting to spend some quality time with you. We don't get to spend much time with each other. I love you, Michael."

"Awwww. . . I love you too, James. You mean-"

Just then, the Fasten Seat Belts light came on.

"Umm, Michael, time for the blindfold again. We're almost here."

"That was a short flight. We hardly got in the air but a few minutes ago. Do we have to change planes?"

"No, we're here. Put the blindfold on."

"You love teasing me, don't you?" Michael said as he put on the blindfold.

"As a matter of fact, I do." Lance said.

He grabbed Michael's hand, put on the disguise, and exited the plane.

To everyone this sight looked strange to say the least. There were two teenagers holding hands, one with a blindfold, and one with a floppy hat and dark glasses. So much for subtlety. Not one of their strong points. Lance flagged down yet another cab. Lance secretly gave the cab driver directions as they got into the car.

"What about our luggage?" Michael asked.

"Already routed to our motel room. I've made reservations already at- oops. . . I can't tell you yet. The name of the motel would give it away."

"Lance! Tell me!"

"No yet, kiddo. We'll be there soon, and then I won't have to tell you. The scenery will tell you where you are."

"Well, I hope this is a nice place. I don't want the surprise to end up being some sleazy gay porn theater."

"Oh believe me. I'll tell you this much, it's nothing close to that. Can you imagine the news headlines? 'Lance Bass of N*SYNC frequents gay porn theaters with his lover.' No, we aren't going to one of those. I can't imagine ever going to one of those. That would not be the place to take your boyfriend for a romantic evening."

"Oh, so we're having a romantic evening. Oh, I forgot my evening dress."

"Not to worry. I packed it already." Lance laughed. "Oh well. . . it looks like we made it, and in perfect time. The sun isn't close to setting.

How perfect!"

"I wish I could agree with you, but I don't know where we are, yet."

"You will, in good time, young man." Lance said in his awful adult-like impression. He paid the cabdriver. "Thanks so much. Ok, now, grab my hand, and I'll let you remove the mask in a minute."

Lance and Michael walked along for a moment. "Wait, earmuffs. Forgot the earmuffs."

"Oh, well it's ok. I'll just ignore the background noise."

"Ok, remove the mask."

"And the imaginary earmuffs?"

"Yes, you can take your fingers out of your ears."

Michael looked around. "Oh, Lance, I can't believe it. You brought me here! How romantic!

To Be Continued. . .

Well, what did you think? Was it garbage and not worth the time of day to read it? Or was it so engrossing you couldn't stop reading it until the deadly words, To Be Continued. . . were placed at the end? Email me and tell me what you thought. My address is: mikeyboyz1029@hotmail.com . I've got the next chapter written, so it will be posted this week, I hope. Well, I've pretty much planned out the whole story very vaguely (although the story has changed significantly since I started it), so if you want to tell me how you think the story should go, then drop me a note. I love email!!! Until next time, Michael. :)
