Here is a little preview of Part 9 of "Relationships"
*AFTER A NIGHT THAT WILL HAUNT HIM FOREVER
"Ray get off of me." Alex said
"I know you want it. Just admit it." Ray said in the same manner in which Taylor told him in his dream.
"Oh God." Alex said worried
Ray then grabbed Alex and dragged him into his bedroom. Alex tried to punch Ray, but that only made Ray angrier and Ray punched Alex in the stomach causing Alex to fall over. Ray then through Alex on the bed and slammed the door to his bedroom shut.
"No!" Alex shouted in horror.
ONE RELATIONSHIP MAY BE ENDING
Maybe we should just break-" Alex began, but Ray cut him off.
"Don't finish that sentence." Ray said "There has to be another way."
AS ANOTHER MAY BE BEGINNING
"I'm just being paid to do what you want me to do. Do you think I want to be spending my time flirting with Alex, when all I want to do is be with you?" Taylor said to Jeff
"Excuse me?" Jeff asked shocked to what Taylor revealed to him.
AND NOW A NEW "RELATIONSHIPS" Previously on "Relationships"
"Well, I was wondering. Tonight, do you think tonight might be...the night?" Ray asked
"What do you mean?" Alex asked a little confused.
"I mean that you and I have never consemated this relationship." Ray said
"Oh." Alex replied a little suprised that Ray was suggesting this.
"Do you want to?" Ray asked
Alex hesitated for a minute thinking of a good answer, but couldn't...
Ray poured himself a glass of vodka and sat back and watched TV. However his mind was focussing more on thefact that Alex seemed so evasive about having sex. He thought that Alex would want that to happen. To Ray, this seemed like the next step in their relationship. But he didn't want to pressure Alex into doing something he didn't want to do, so he decided that whether Alex wanted to have sex or not, he would be understanding about it.
"So did you think anymore about what I asked earlier?" Ray asked curiously
"I don't know Ray." Alex said turning to face him.
"Why not?" Ray asked "Do you not trust me yet?"
"No, it's not that. Alex began. "It's just that, I don't know if I'm really ready for that yet."
"I understand." Ray said a little dissapointed
"You want a drink?" Ray asked Alex, who was sitting on the couch watching tv.
"No thanks." Alex replied
Ray went into the kitchen and brought out a bottle of vodka and poured himself a glass. After that he went back into the living room and sat down with Alex.
**************************************************************************************************************************** Ray woke up at about 8:00 AM Sunday morning. He looked over and saw Alex still asleep next to him. Not wanting to disturb him, Ray got up and went into the kitchen for something to eat. There was nothing in the kitchen that Ray wanted to eat and he didn't want to take the time to make coffee, he saw the vodka he had out from the night before and poured himself a glass. After that he went out and got a newspaper, came back to his apartment and read in the living room and waited for Alex to wake up.
"Morning." Ray replied giving Alex a kiss. Alex could taste the vodka on Ray's lips and pulled away from the kiss.
"Drink so soon Ray, you won't make it through the day." Alex said
"You're not an interesting enough person to answer to." Jeff said
"That's one." Alex said
"Alex, go run off and get your stupid boyfriend his food." Jeff replied
"That's two." Alex said
"Leave, you annoying fag." Jeff snarled
"That's three." Alex said then he gave Jeff a right hook.
Alex fell back a little, rubbing his jaw.
"You son-of-a-bitch!" Jeff replied and punched Alex in the stomach.
Alex curled over holding his stomach. Jeff wasted no time waiting for Alex to fight back, he then pushed Jeff on the ground, leaned over him and punched him again.
"Get off of me!" Alex shouted and kicked Jeff in the stomach.
"Break it up!" Ray shouted pulling the two apart. "Come on Alex, you don't want to waste your time on trash."
Ray gave Jeff a look of disgust.
"Yea run off like a wuss." Jeff said
"Go to hell Jeff." Ray said
"You think it will end this easily Ray? Just wait, you'll be going through a hell of a lot more trouble." Jeff said
"Alex, don't waste your time on Jeff. He's not worth it." Ray said frustrated, taking a big gulp of vodka.
"I'm sorry, but he just pushed me too far." Alex said
"Alex, I don't want you getting involved with Jeff. Just stay away from him. He's bad news." Ray said
"I know that, but if he thinks he can just say crap to me and get away with it, then he's wrong." Alex replied
"Alex, leave Jeff to me. I can handle him." Ray said
"You can handle him? Ray, didn't you get into a fight with Jeff a couple of weeks ago?" Alex asked
"That's not really the point." Ray said
"Yea, it is Ray. You think that you can handle Jeff and I can't, but the truth is you can't handle him either." Alex rotorted.
"I know him better than you." Ray said
"Doesn't mean you're any better at keeping your cool around him then I am." Alex said
With that Alex went up to Ray and gave him a hug.
"I know you're upset now. Just calm down a little okay? Don't let Jeff spoil this weekend for us." Alex said comfortingly
"All right. Thanks." Ray replied giving Alex a quick kiss.
"Just relax, I'm going to go get some food." Alex said and then headed out.
Ray still really stressed out took the whole bottle of vodka with him to the living room and poured himself some more.
"Alex, I need to talk to you." Jeff said
"Whatever it is Jeff, I don't care. Just get away from me." Alex said as the elevator door opened. Alex went in the elevator, but Jeff stood in the doorway to the elevator and held the door open.
"I just wanted to warn you. Ray can get very rough, especially when he's been drinking." Jeff said
Jeff sat back on his couch smiling to himself.
'The fight Alex and I had was the pefect way to get Ray to drink.' Jeff thought to himself 'And I know what Ray gets like when he drinks. If Alex is around Ray at the time, poor Alex will be in for one hell of a ride.'
Alex just got back from getting food, he was gone for a couple hours since he walked around thinking for a little bit first about what Jeff had told him. He put the food in the kitchen and went into the living room to find Ray sitting on the couch. On the groud was the bottle of vodka...empty.
"Ray did you finish all that vodka?" Alex asked concerned
Ray looked down at the empty bottle.
"I guess I did." Ray replied laughing.
"Okay, well I think you had enough excitement for one day-" Alex began but Ray cut him off.
"Enough excitement? You aint seen nothing yet." Ray replied
"No way." Ray said "You're not going anywhere."
Ray began to kiss Alex's neck. Alex was not in the mood for this pushed Ray off.
"Ray, your drunk. Just go to bed and get some rest." Alex said
"I know you want it." Ray replied
"Ray get off of me." Alex said
"I know you want it. Just admit it." Ray said
"Oh God." Alex said worried
Ray then grabbed Alex and dragged him into his bedroom. Alex tried to punch Ray, but that only made Ray angrier and Ray punched Alex in the stomach causing Alex to fall over. Ray then through Alex on the bed and slammed the door to his bedroom shut.
With that here is part 9 of "Relationships" entitled "The Next Morning"
Alex was sitting on the couch the next morning. His sweatshirt he is wearing has a pocket torn and he has a bruise on arm from the night before. He had been debating whether to stay or leave, but decided he needs to wait for Ray to get up to discuss what the future holds for their relationship. He looked down at his watch and see's it's 11:30 AM.
"Get up you son-of-a-bitch." Alex whispered to himself.
Alex, getting tired of just sitting, got up and went to the window and looked outside. Everybody was walking in the streets, having a good time. Meanwhile, Alex was up in the apartment of his boyfriend and rapist.
"I have such a hang over." Ray said groggily as he walked into the living room. He had on a sweatshirt and sweatpants.
"I bet." Alex harshly replied
"Weird thing. I woke up naked." Ray said sitting on the couch.
"Obviously." Alex whispered to himself
"Can you get me a glass of orange juice please?" Ray asked as he sat down on the couch, and rubbed his head.
"Are you kidding?" Alex asked disgusted
"Why would I be kidding?" Ray asked "I feel like crap."
"Yea, well you deserve it." Alex said
"What are you talking about?" Ray asked
"Don't you remember what happened last night?" Alex asked
Ray sat there thinking for a minute. Then his tired, hung over look turned to a worried, pained look.
"Oh my God." Ray said standing up and walking towards Alex. "Alex."
"Stay away from me." Alex said
"Alex, I don't...I mean...I'm so-" Ray began but Alex cut him off
"Save it." Alex replied "I have been through crap before in my life, but this really tops it all."
"I was drunk, I was-" Ray tried to say, but Alex cut him off again.
"No! You know, It's hard enough to imagine some stranger doing this to me, but it was you, my boyfriend." Alex said
Ray's eyes began to tear up.
"Alex, just let me talk okay, please?" Ray asked, his voice quivering.
"Fine." Alex said "Talk."
"I'm so sorry. To think that I..." Ray said but couldn't finish the sentence. Tears were streaming down his face. He sat back down on the couch and started crying into his hands.
Alex stood there looking at Ray, he had mixed emotions; anger, sadness, pity. So much was going through his head and he didn't know what to do.
JEFF'S APARTMENT
Jeff was sitting down, eating breakfast when there was a knock on his door.
"Harvy?" Jeff asked opening the door "What are you doing here?"
"Well, I did a certain job for you. I am here to collect my payment." Harvy replied
"Of course." Jeff said "Come in."
"Sorry for interrupting you during breakfast." Harvy said seeing the plate of food on the table.
"Not a problem. Forgive me for not asking you to join me, but I have some place to be in a little bit." Jeff said
"It's quite all right." Harvy said
Jeff went to a drawer on his desk and pulled out his check book and proceeded to write out a check for Harvy.
"So, what do you plan to do with that Dean Horowitz?" Harvy asked
"You get paid to find out information Harvy, not ask questions." Jeff replied handing Harvy the check. Harvy looked at the check with a smile.
"I see you added another thousand. Is that to keep me quiet?" Harvy asked
"What did I say about questions?" Jeff asked "Good day Harvy."
"Bye." Harvy replied then left.
"Now that he's gone. I need to go see Taylor." Jeff said to himself, then headed to his room.
RAY'S APARTMENT
Ray was still sitting on the couch with tears in his eyes.
"Why are you still here? How can you even stand to be here and look at me?" Ray asked confused
"Because, if I leave then it will just leave me more confused then ever. We need to talk about this and try to make some sense out of what happened. Because I sure as hell don't understand anything anymore." Alex explained
"I don't know what I can do or say to try and fix this." Ray said
"This isn't something you can just put a band-aid on and expect everything to be okay." Alex said
"I know." Ray replied
Alex looked at Ray and was unable to think. So he headed to the door.
"I'll be back later. We still have a lot to talk about before I go." Alex said as he left.
Alex went to the elevator and waited for it to arrive.
As he was waiting Jeff came out of his apartment.
"Oh, Alex. What a suprise. I won't say a pleasant suprise, because it's never really pleasant to see you." Jeff said amusing himself.
"Not now Jeff. I'm not in the mood." Alex replied
"Oh, something wrong between you and Ray?" Jeff asked
Alex didn't reply, he just stood there silently until finally the elevator arrived and him and Jeff both stepped inside.
"He did something to you last night, didn't he?" Jeff asked
"What?" Alex asked
"I heard last night. I heard shouting coming from Ray's apartment last night. It was you that was shouting wasn't it?" Jeff asked
Again, Alex stood silent. He didn't want Jeff of all people to find out.
"I know that shouting. It happened one night when Ray drank too much. He has a tendency to drink often. Anyway, after he drank too much, he attacked me." Jeff revealed to Alex.
"Who said he attacked me?" Alex snapped
"No one. But let me just say this, if he did, don't make the mistake I did and go back to him. It will only set you up for more hurt." Jeff said
"Why is me being hurt any concern to you? I would think you'd want that." Alex said curious as to why Jeff is being so "nice".
"I'm only trying to protect the fellow man." Jeff replied simply
"Well save it." Alex snapped as the elevator opened to the lobby. Then Alex stormed out of the elevator and outside.
"Whatever you say." Jeff said smiling to himself.
Alex walked around just trying to peice together all that has happened to him. A part of him wants to just forgive Ray and move on, after all Ray was drunk and out of character, but at the same time, Alex was having trouble dealing with the idea of being with someone who did that to him.
As he was walking along he bumped into Taylor.
"Alex." Taylor said smiling
"Taylor, I really don't feel like talking right now." Alex replied
"What's wrong?" Taylor asked looking genuinely concerned
"I just don't feel like talking." Alex said
"Come with me." Taylor said
"What?" Alex asked
"Come with me to get a bite to eat." Taylor replied
"I'm not real hungry." Alex said
"That's okay, just sit with me. I know you don't feel like talking, but in case you do, I'll be there." Taylor said
Alex hesitated, not sure what to do, but finally gave in to the offer and went with Taylor to a small diner.
The two of them sat at an outside table.
"Something wrong with you and you're boyfriend?" Taylor asked
Alex didn't say anything, he just nodded.
"You two have a fight?" Taylor asked
"It's not the fight that I'm upset about, it's the reason for the fight." Alex replied
"Something stupid happen?" Taylor asked
Alex nodded. "Something very stupid."
"Care to elaborate?" Taylor asked
"Not really." Alex replied
"I see." Taylor said
While the two of them were sitting, Jeff was walking down the street and spotted Alex and Taylor at the diner, so he decided to go up to them so he could talk to Taylor.
"Alex. Well, funny running into you like this." Jeff said walking up to Alex and Taylor.
"Hey Je-" Taylor began, but Jeff cut him off.
"Hi, I'm Jeff." Jeff said holding his hand out to Jeff.
"Taylor." Taylor replied shaking Jeff's hand. Jeff was mad that Taylor almost blew it so he squeezed Taylor's hand tight as they shook.
"So, what are you two doing?" Jeff asked
"Just talking." Taylor replied
"Jeff, can you just leave?" Alex asked impatiently
"Of course. I'd want to be alone to if my boyfriend attacked me." Jeff said then walked off. Leaving Alex very upset.
"Maybe you do need a little alone time." Taylor said getting up.
"Yea." Alex agreed
"Just remember, I'm here for you if you want me to be." Taylor said smiling handing Alex a card with his phone number on it.
"Thanks." Alex replied giving a half smile.
With that, Taylor ran off and caught up with Jeff.
"You almost blew it." Jeff said
"I know, I'm sorry." Taylor replied
"I'm paying you too much to make mistakes like that." Jeff said cruelly
"I said sorry." Taylor retorted
"Well 'sorry' won't cut it if Alex and Ray catch on to what we're doing." Jeff said
"What you're doing." Taylor corrected "I'm just being paid to do what you want me to do. Do you think I want to be spending my time flirting with Alex, when all I want to do is be with you?"
"Excuse me?" Jeff asked shocked to what Taylor revealed to him.
Meanwhile, Alex got up from the table at the diner and started to head back to Ray's apartment. When he got there Ray ran up to him.
"You came back." Ray said still teary eyed.
"I told you. We still have a lot to talk about before I leave." Alex said
"I'm so sorry." Ray pleaded
"I know you are. I never doubted whether you are sorry or not because I know you are, it's not about that. It's just...how can we go on from here?" Alex asked
"I'll do anything." Ray replied
"But think about where I am Ray, every time I look at you. I'll think about last night. It's not that I want to remember it, but I'm forced to. Maybe we should just break-" Alex began, but Ray cut him off.
"Don't finish that sentence." Ray said "There has to be another way."
"Then tell me, what's another solution? Pretend it never happened?" Alex asked
"No, it's just, we have to come up with a way we can still be together. Because I love you." Ray pleaded
JEFF'S APARTMENT
Jeff still suprised by Taylor's confession, brought him up to his apartment.
"Let me get this straight, you want to be with me?" Jeff asked
"Yes, you are the most amazing person I know." Taylor replied
"Well, I am pretty amazing." Jeff said smiling to himself "But honestly Taylor, do you really see a future with us?"
"I can give you anything you want." Taylor said
"Taylor, I don't need you to get me things, if I want something I'll get it on my own." Jeff replied "Now, what would you bring to the relationship? If I decide to pursue it, that is."
Taylor didn't say anything, he just went up to Jeff and started kissing him. Jeff became very much as into the kiss as Taylor and wrapped his arms around him. Then the two of them headed for Jeff's bedroom.
RAY'S APARTMENT
"I'm so sorry. I'll never say that enough." Ray said sitting on the couch, Alex was standing by the window, looking out and thinking. Ray looked over at Alex, standing there and realized what he would be best for Alex.
"Maybe you're right." Ray began
"What?" Alex asked facing him.
"Maybe we should just break up." Ray said, his eyes filling with tears again.
Alex stood there, taking it in. "Yea, maybe we should."
"I don't want to, but I want to do what's best for you and you wouldn't be happy if every time we were together you had to remember what I did to you." Ray said
"Thanks." Alex replied "I guess I'll get my things."
Alex went to the bedroom and got his bag. When he went back into the living room to say bye to Ray, Ray was sitting on the couch, his right hand covering his eyes and was crying. Alex stood there looking at Ray, he didn't see the man who hurt him, he saw the man he loved, the man he loved very much. He went up to Ray and sat on the couch, then reached out and touched Ray's left hand. Ray looked up and saw Alex looking back at him, Alex wrapped his fingers through Ray's holding his hand. Alex didn't say anything, he just gave a slight smile and then wrapped his arms around Ray. Ray held onto Alex tightly and broke down again.
"I'm so sorry." Ray said
"It's okay. Everything's going to be okay." Alex replied
Ray and Alex sat there for a long time, just holding one another.
JEFF'S APARTMENT
Taylor rolled off of Jeff and they laid there in Jeff's bed.
"Well, what do you say?" Taylor asked
"That wasn't too bad." Jeff replied then gave Taylor a quick kiss "I'll think about it."
Taylor looked a little upset.
"You'll think about it?" Taylor asked frowning a little.
"Yes, you should be grateful. But, before I think about the possibility of us, I still need you to distract Alex for me." Jeff said
"For how long?" Taylor asked upset
"Just until Alex's ex-boyfriend gets out of jail, then when his boyfriend his here, he'll do the rest." Jeff replied
