Exams and Peatys Party - Chapter 15
I wake up sweating, my sheets soaked, I shower and change them. Heck it's early. I've woken Mom,
`You OK honey?' She says outside my door, I put on boxers and open it,
`Sorry for waking you Mom, I couldn't sleep', not telling her about the sweating.
`I wasn't asleep dear, let me get you a hot breakfast today to sustain you. I'll cook whilst you go over your papers'.
`Deal' I say. I dress leisurely and Mom shouts up.
I eat and Woody texts, `Cant sleep, u ready?'
I txt `Yes',
I hear his truck pull up,
`Morning Mrs Mason, morning brainbox',
he beckons me for a hug, the big guy holds me tight, his dick grinding into mine, his breath hot on my neck, his paws pressing into my back. I tap for release.
`Woody, please, won't you have some breakfast with us, we got all the usuals and I'm doing a hot grill',
`Thanks Mrs Mason, just the grill please, I had toast and juice at home'.
We eat everything on the plate and Woody stands, thanks Mrs Mason hugging her, I see Moms foot lift off the floor and push back As they embrace m. Woodys sure got a thing with the ladies. My mind pictures him flexing for me, erect, proud. I leak a little.
`Come on, let's get this party started',
says Woody and I kiss Mom who wishes me well and I check my bag for the fourth time and we are off.
I can't recall much else really, I remember the snell of sweaty trainers in the gym converted to an exam hall, I answer all the questions, I see guys constantly asking for more paper, I'm not phased by that, often it's the art of a good précis that's better, its efficient and conveys the facts succinctly, less time, more marks.
That sums up the whole week. We are all exhausted, except Woody who is so relaxed about his exams, he breezes through them as he breezes through life, he's counting down the days to the end of term and our summer in Canada.
I think I've got enough cash providing we can free camp some nights or maybe get a job to earn a little.
The university visits cost me some, but Tonks, dear Tonks, put a cheque in my pay to cover them. He says he can set it against tax and not to worry, with all the work I do for him for free.
I go down to the bank with my passbook and the ladies smile and chatter, pleased to see me. They ask about college, I tell them nothing really, I'm getting better at evading politely. I look at the balance, I've quite a healthy sum building.
I go with Woody to an end of exams party that Johnny Staten is hosting. It's ok and good to see the guys from swim team, we keep in a huddle, avoiding the fruit punch and trying not to get dragged off to the illicit joint smoking and liquor swilling going on in various parts of Mr Statens garden, freshly mown by yours truly.
I leave with Woody who's reluctant to go. `You go back to the party Woody, you looked to be having a good time. I'm just drained of conversation my brain is like mush',
`You sure?' I nod and he runs back in,
I see him pull off his T and open the front door he shouts `I'm back' like Arnie and I hear laughter as the door closes.
I mooch along, feeling a bit lost, like an outcast, is this what college will be like? My stomach turns, I pray to the God of Examiners that they look favourably on my answers, looking back a few of them were remarkably short and hope I've not misjudged the line between efficiency and inefficient verbosity.
Moms out with Frank, I see the note,
`I hope the party was fun, I'm staying at Franks tonight after the show X',
I'm tired and a bit drunk, someone must've spiked one of my drinks, yea Johnny Staten brought me a drink out, not one from a bottle. I'll bet that was it.
I sat on the couch and was going to put the TV on, the next thing I hear is Woodys voice.
`Hey Rusty, I saw the light on and looked through the window so I came in, hope ya don't mind?',
`No, I'm glad, I must've nodded off',
`Yeah the door was open, you better lock it, you got any beers?',
He was happy drunk, all touchy feely, the right side of horny,
`No beers but we can still have fun',
I started to strip,
Oh fuck yeah' he started to sing get down on it' bumping at my hips as I strip teased,
`You gotta join in' I say and I dance and sing bumping Woodys ass as he gets naked, fuck what a sight, we hug and kiss, our cocks responding. Woody pulls me upstairs our clothes strewn where we threw them.
I watched as Woody pee'd and I did my teeth, sharing the brush with Woody, watching each other in the bathroom mirror, lips white with foam, eyes sparkling, touching shoulders, warm, we spat and dried faces. We fell into bed and cuddled, making out, rolling on the bed, the clock said 2:35 am.
I felt Woodys body relax completely as he slept and snored and farted and turned over. My mind went to the exams, the doubts whirled around. I was dozing off when he let rip a stinker, I wafted the sheets and eventually fell asleep next to the radiant heater aka Woody.
I woke, Woody was trying to tame his dick leant right over the pan pressing it down so he could pee, morning Rusty', oh my head' he moaned. He managed a thin powerful noisy stream. The smell drifted through.
I got up and ran downstairs and fixed two Alka-Seltzer for him, I gathered up the scattered clothes from the living room and took them upstairs. Woody balked at the noise the fizz was making and then downed the potion in one and groaned some more.
We dozed again, I felt his warm, hard shaft at my gate, I pushed back and his spit loaded pole slid up in one movement, I wiggled back onto his pubes as Woody took me, quickly and passionately, holding my shoulders lightly and kissing my nape, his thrusting body wafting cool air on my back as beads of sweat trickled down to my ass crack.
I shot into my cupped hands and lifted them for Woody to lick as he pounded me, I heard the click noise in his throat, he paused, tensed now as his glans was excited enough and like a hair trigger, tipped him over, I felt the throb as his shaft expanded and he exploded his cum into me. Instantly collapsing as he thrust up and down into me, moaning into my ear as he shot his nut, on and on, I can hear the squish of his cum as he fills me, his nuts tight up, pressing, pulsing hot on my ass cheeks.
We lay, him recovering, his weight all on me, heavenly, I'm pressed into the mattress. I wriggled free and teasing him I lay flat on his back, kissing his ear lobes, licking out his ears, kissing his neck all down his spine, into his ass crack and his smelly, sticky musk. I spat bullseye and fingered the spit into his hole, he moaned. I rise up on my arms, hard now, and my cock slid to the softness, yielding, as I pushed and falling in heavily, up to my hilt, he moaned and his arms lifted his chest up off the bed in the agony and ecstasy, my holding tight to him, retaining the contact and the pressure as he adjusted to my girth.
He exhaled and said `fuck me Rusty'. I obliged, taking him as I know he likes it, no shenanigans, just a simple build up to my crescendo and a release.
We were nearly busted. We heard Franks car pull into the drive, but no doors slam, Mom was thankfully chatting about something with Frank in the car, enough time for us to run the shower decoy and tidy up the bedroom, quickly hiding spunky towels.
Mom called behind the door, `is that Woody I hear singing?' Yes Mom, he stayed over',
`That's nice, some company for you',
I said `yeah',
`I'll get breakfast on or should I say Brunch!',
`That's OK mom we're heading to Picks Cafe for a treat, on Woody',
`Oh Ok, just coffee then?',
`Thanks Mom',
Woody was by my side kissing me and beating off my dick all the time Mom was talking. He pulled my dick and lead me to the shower, he bent over and I fucked him in the shower, cumming in a flurry on the tiled wall, Woody licking up the spurts up as they ran down. We soaped each other up, rinsed dried and dressed.
We walked to Woodys and his Pa came to the door in pyjamas, he gave him $40 for brunch plus $10 for drinks and said `er take your time boys' and he winked.
Woody says `Pa, that's too much information',
and laughed, `gross'.
Pa called out `coming honey' as he closed the door.
We jumped in his truck and drove to Picks. It was packed with juniors from school. Noisy.
Woody says `come on we'll try Paul's Kitchen in Geyser, I've heard they serve, maybe we can get a lunchtime burger and a couple of cool ones?',
He was right, we weren't known and looking at Woodys frame, his need to shave. The barman barely registered us and well, he just set them up on the counter and called through the food order. We sat facing away from the bar and supped the beers and ate the burgers and fries. We kicked back and relaxed. So this is what being a grown up is like I thought.
We talked about Canada what to do, where to go.
Still no news. Its been weeks now.
I'm checking the mailbox from my window, no flag. I saw the guy was trying to push a thick envelope into the box. I threw on my boxers and ran to meet him. He looked a little surprised at a barefoot fit 17 year old running at him. He looked at the postmark and smiled,
ah that figures' he said, then good luck',
as he left for Abes house. I saw the curtain twitch, Abe, my estranged Abe, must've seen me.
I undid the string from around the seal on the heavy envelope and took out the pack of forms and leaflets. I turned the top sheet 3 fold letter open and scanned, then again, then slowly read it line by line.
My heart almost stopped, I breathed in and again and again, my body forgetting to breath out, I hollered `Mom',
`I've got in'.
She flew down the stairs and shut the front door, then read it too, we hugged and hugged, I wept continuously for oh must've been 3 or 4 minutes. All that stress and anxiety just poured out of me.
I heard a car door slam and Abes car sped off with a screech of tires. He must've heard my yelling.
The date, 13th May etched in my memory.
I walked to Woodys, well I floated is more like it. He saw me and he knew,
He ran out and flung his arms around me, `you fucking genius' he whispered and gave me a big hug and a slobbery wet kiss on my neck.
He smelt of grease and rubber. `Come on' he says and we go to the garage. The truck hood is up and the engine looks to be in bits.
`I'm just servicing the old girl before we set off, and look what's Pa bought for her',
He showed me a fold down frame that fit into pipes newly welded to the rear deck which now had a plywood base, covering the ridged metal. Woody unfolded three metal rods which dropped into the pipes and formed a support for a tarp which he through over and tied the frame.
`He's only gone and made it into a camping truck, we can sleep in the back and cook on the drop down loading side. He was chatting to a guy in the surplus store in Cotati explaining we was going summer camping in a truck and did he have any tents. The guy aksed'
`it's asked' I thought,
`and he said how about a truck awning? So he bought it. Uncle Wayne welded the pipes and cut out the ply floor and made it fit. He even found a cooking stove and tin cups and plates and gear for us and two sleeping bags. Pa says it will be warm enough for summer camping'.
We climbed in, it's only low so you can't stand up, just kneel, we lay down, looking at the canvas above us, Woody squeezed my hand and looked across at me
`Well done pardner',
he said in his mock drawl, and gently kissed my lips, his hand on my neck, his fingers brushing my nape, pulling back he says,
Well I'd better put this ol girl back together again and see if she runs any better. Woody said he'd supervise me doing a full oil change and lube service and brakes pads replacement next week'. Mmm lube service sounds good' I said, he batted me a `shush' in case his Mom heard.
`Just think 6 whole weeks with you' he said and he clutched his shaft quickly like excited boys do.
I ran back, I've been letting my running down. Time to start it up again. I passed the house, Abes car was back, Mom was talking to Mary, Abes Mom, no doubt telling her the news.
I put my hand up and waved as I sped past my house and up the lane, and the hill to the bluff. Fuck you Abe. What you gotta say about that?
I stood on the peak, Cloverdale in the valley to my right and the hills to my left, in the haze I imagined the Pacific Ocean stretching out. I turned a 360 and for some reason I yelled `yes, fucking, yes' over and over and beat my chest like Tarzan, I am king of the fucking hill.
I ran back home. Showered and dressed for school.
I walked in to school, the place was busy with students picking up their exam grades. I was congratulated at every turn, good news travels fast in a small town.
I felt great, the best I've ever felt at the school, no longer this weirdo half Brit outsider with his fucking metric measures and strange words and sayings, with an equally weird dick and his Mom who you had to `tune into', only getting every third word.
I saw Coach. `Attaboy' he said and opened his arms, we hugged, a manly hug, he pushed me back stretching out his arms, still gripping my shoulders.
Well done Chris', he said, fixing me with his eyes, penetrating my soul. You certainly impressed Tony Riviera with your nonchalant attitude, not even took a suit, then you tore up the pool, naked. Tony phoned me and said had you worn a suit that rudder between your legs wouldn't have slowed you down so'.
I blushed, he pulled me in for a hug. `I'll be following your progress, don't be a stranger, call in when you're home, you know when the practices are by now, we'll be glad to see you, you can help out, spur on the younger ones',
`Thanks Coach, I will and thanks for everything you've done for me, I stroked my chin',
Oh yeh, shaving he tapped his nose and now it's his turn to water up as we shook hands as equals. Man to man.
After school I went to Tonks to do my shift as usual, regular as clockwork. Tonks was thrilled at my news and we hugged, then he called me into his office, Mom was their, I could see she was emotional.
`Mom what's up?',
`I can't believe it Chris, it hasn't sunk in yet',
`What hasn't?',
Tonks coughed and handed me a letter.
It was headed `The Marjorie Tonks Foundation'. I read it and my heart stopped. I read it again.
The Marjorie Tonks Foundation, hereafter known as the Foundation' awards Christopher Robert Mason a sum equalling but not exceeding the tuition fees for his chosen college and on receipt of an unconditional offer or a conditional offer where the conditions are later met.
Furthermore a sum of 20% of the tuition fee shall be awarded to be spent on academic and living expenses at said institution.
The total sum not to exceed $100,000 per annum until the course or courses of study are completed.'.
I hugged Tonks, he pushed me off embarrassed.
`My wife Marg would have loved to have known you Rusty er Chris. Don't be thinking this is my doing though of course I support it but its independent of me, made by the trustees of the Foundation set up after she died to make good use of her inheritance, her Pa was something in the city, what she saw in me I'll never know',
Mom started to cry again. I hugged her.
`I'll drive your Mom home Chris, you look after the store, keep out front till I get back'.
I put on my Tonks apron, tied the bow and walked out onto the shop floor, the checkouts were busy, people hauling stuff, JoJo beamed and put his hand up, I acknowledged him. I leant on the wall and read the letter again, and right at the bottom in small faint print it said,
Trustees: Robert Peaty, Graham Henderson, Mary Hutchinson, Cecil Driedle.
My heart thumped, that's Abes Mom, Pervy Peaty, Driedle who teaches App Maths and Hendy. All people who know me, see me every day, people I have grown up with.
We walked to Peatys, we were gonna cycle but decided that's a bit lame, anyway it's only a small town, nothings really too far to walk, I'm always amazed how little people actually walk.
Anyway, Woody calls for me,
`Hi Mrs Mason, you look nice',
`Why thank you Woody', she beamed at him, she must've twinkled her eye or done some voodoo witch thing because Woody made a twirl with his fingers and Mom spun around for him,
Woody wolf whistled, he was actually flirting with my Mom,
We heard a toot,
`oh that'll be Frank, were going out for a pre-theatre meal then to The Summerfield in Santa Rosa. Now you two handsome young men enjoy yourselves and don't be foolish, I'm staying over at Franks as it's quite a drive'.
Woody puckered his lips and put his cheek out for a kiss, `oh Woody you're far to old for a kiss' she actually giggled and sashayed out of the door like a bride to be.
`What the fuck was that Woody, with my Mom!',
`Yeah, you'll be gone soon',
`WOODY'! I shouted as he laughed. I locked up and we walked arms over shoulders to Peatys place.
We could hear the music at the end of the street, and the whooping and splashes.
Peaty welcomed us, Wayne shook our hands,
`Great idea of yours Rusty, I ain't seen so much ass about since I don't know when',
Peaty playfully punched Wayne `shhhh, you'll make the boys nervous',
I looked at the scene ahead, there must be 30 to 40 guys already, sat around the pool edge, packed shoulder to shoulder in the shallow end, thinning as it got deeper, guys diving in for a spoon at the very end.
Wayne had set up strings of Chinese lanterns high up zig zagging across the lawn and high over the pool from the house and to the trees at the far end, through the window at the top of the stairs.
Trestle tables with food and drinks on one side. And the steep grass bank to sit on. Perfect.
The music was from the garage, Wayne's nephew Tom was spinning tubes from a laptop, and two speakers. Guys and their girls were already swaying to the music. The pump hose door was ajar and I could see bodies in the cramped space, smoke rising up from behind.
Coach arrived and split the guys into football and Swim team and him and Wayne started the games.
More guys came from Swim Team and a few guys on the fringes of the football squad. Donations of sodas and beers and and home made tray bakes were arranged. Wayne was supposed to separate the soda from the beers but that soon all got mixed up. The fruit punch was surreptitiously being topped up with gawd knows what from pint bottles, Peaty kept tasting it looking puzzled and adding more fruit juice.
The football team were the first to remove their suits, laid on the pool edge mooning at the swim team, their suits falling into the pool to be snatched away by swim team guys who then mooned at the football squad.
Wayne arranged a wrestling match, no holds barred, meaning the dirty tricks ensued.
I laid on the bank watching the spectacle like something from a porno budget Gladiator movie unfold until I recognised that ass being thrust before me here's your loser Brainbox' as the big defender pushed Woody on to me, his ass in my face, Hi Woody' I said, as his attacker pulled him up and Woody ran at him, his head low into his abs and Woody carried him in a fireman's shoulder lift, spinning him around and depositing him in the water.
Woody was the wrestling champ.
Peaty had gotten the suits from the pool with a net and was assisted by Joshy who was diving in for the ones on the pool floor. They were wrung them out and laid to dry on the grass.
Wayne says over the speakers,
`OK guys, there's no food for naked bodies so if you wanna eat put on a suit, preferably your own',
Peaty starts to serve the line of guys with a choice of fried chicken or a hot chilli, then it's serve yourself salads and jeweled rice and dinner rolls.
The music is turned down, darkness invades and it's almost a respectable party now.
Wayne replenished the drinks with sodas, clearing the empty bottles and cans. I topped up the fruit punch with fruit juice and a jug of ice.
We ate and chatted, I went to join the line for more, then relaxed, Joshy came over and japed and chatted trying to get me up for a dance, or a grind as he called it. I had a few dances, being tapped to swap partners, lots of people congratulating me, lots of dicks grinding my thigh.
It turns out I'm the only person from our year the be admitted to Stanford and first for a number of years apparently.
Woody came over as the last dance was announced, we hugged and smooched to `I will always love you' along with others who had paired off with besties, all knowing that this was a momentous year and change for all of us, that fear of the unknown tempered with a longing to escape.
