"Today is Drake's birthday." Joshua said sadly as he rolled on top of Vard. Since the death of so many of his friends by Falcon's followers, there had not been much happiness in Joshua's life.

"I know my love... I know." Vard said as he stroked his husband's back. "I'm sure he is safe. Austin and Tidal will not let anything happen to him."

"I want my son back." Joshua said, as a tear dropped from his face onto Vard's chest.

"We will get him back... when the time is right."

"I just miss him so much."

"I know you do my love... but I will not risk us being found, not after so many have died to keep you safe."

"I should have never let you send me away..."

"Would you have rather gone back to Falcon?" Vard asked in an accusing voice.

"If it would have saved Clive and the others..." Joshua left unfinished.

"It wouldn't have."

"But..."

"Falcon... Gerick, whatever you want to call him... he wants us to suffer. That is what Adam told you. Everyone who is close to us... everyone you ever loved is now in danger."

"That is why we need to go find Drake and the others. They are not safe out there," Joshua insisted.

"That is why we can't. It took all my power to build our hiding place here. I don't know if I have the strength to do it a second time.

Joshua nodded his head... he knew all too well how much power Vard had spent on the exodus. Still, this world had become a prison. Joshua and the rest of the survivors from Aquarius and Wor were unable to leave it without revealing their location to Falcon.

"I know Vard... I am not angry with you," Joshua said as he stroked his lover's face tenderly. "I just wish..."

"You just wish there was something you could do," Vard finished for his husband.

"Yes... I feel so powerless."

"So do I," Vard nodded. "One day Joshua, I will be the husband you deserve. One day I will be strong enough to protect you."

"You have always been what I wanted," Joshua replied, nuzzling his face against Vard's.

Vard rolled both of them over so he was on top of his husband. "I promise you my love... we will get your son back."

Joshua let a weak smile grow on his face. If his husband said they would get Drake back he believed him. "I know we will."

Vard kissed Joshua's face and neck while his hands ran down his sides. He could feel Joshua's chest rise and fall as his breathing picked up, as well as the hardening flesh between their bodies. Joshua let out deep moans as his husband made love to him, taking the root of his sex into his mouth as he pushed fingers inside his lover to stretch him. Vard then pushed his manhood deep inside Joshua, filling him with the long muscular flesh. Joshua responded by raising his legs up, wrapping his ankles around the back of Vard's neck to pull his husband's face down to meet his lips.

Embraced in each other's arms, Vard felt his seed explode inside his lover's body, sending his mind into the clouds of orgasmic bliss. He pulled out, letting Joshua's legs fall back down on the bed. Vard then rolled off his lover and got up on all fours. He felt Joshua move behind him, place his large, strong hands on his ass before Vard, himself, was stretched by his lover's sex entering him.

Vard did not know which he enjoyed more... being inside his lover or have his lover buried deep inside him. In both cases, these acts of lovemaking would leave him feeling complete. As Joshua continued to push in and out of him at a slow and steady rate, Vard felt himself harden again. It was not long until Joshua's hand slid down his husband's thigh to reach between his legs and take hold of the warm flesh, massaging the muscle with his fingers. As Joshua reached his own climax, he collapsed on top of Vard who released his seed for the second time into Joshua's hand.

Turning over to face his husband, Vard looked at his lover's sticky hand and brought it to his mouth to taste his salty flavor before sharing it with Joshua with a deep kiss. Once his hand was licked clean, Vard pulled Joshua down on top of him so his head rested on his chest. Vard held Joshua close to him, feeling the strong beat of his heart against his stomach.

Not knowing where else to go, Tidal and Austin decided to take Adam back home to Aegis, his home world. The man had suffered enough. As it was also located in the heart of the Assembly of Worlds, Tidal was sure it would be one of the last places the Prelate and his followers would look for them.

Stepping out of the Void on the top of a hill, the group saw the rainbow colored fields of the farmlands. Large squares of gold, green, brown, red, and orange made a giant quilt of the land.

"It's beautiful," Drake said as he let Puppy down on the soft grass.

"Its home," Adam nodded. He was still dressed in rags, and looked haggard, but he had a smile on his face. His shoulder's lifted, as if a great weight had been removed.

"Do you know where we are?" Tidal asked Adam.

"Yes... I've been on this hill before. In fact we are already on my family's land. The foreman's house is about three hours walk from here."

"Then we better get moving," Austin sighed, as the party began walking down the hill.

It took a little longer than three hours to reach the large white painted wood house. Puppy, with her short legs, could not match the longer strides of her owner. Eventually Austin insisted that Drake carry her lest they end up walking in the dark.

As it was, the sun had just touched the horizon when they finally reached the large red painted doors. "Master Adam?" An elderly man asked, behind a grinning red clay mask.

"Peter... thank the light you are here," Adam said as he wrapped his arms around the man, breaking down into tears.

"Now, now, Master Adam... is this any way for a Van'tol to act?" The elderly man asked, as he rocked Adam in his arms.

"You would not believe what I have gone through."

"Well being an Inquisitor is never a pleasant task." Peter replied. "But you look terrible. Why don't you and your... friends... come inside?"

Following Adam and the masked servant, Drake, Austin, and Tidal made their way into a large room taken up by a grand central staircase.

"I shall take Master Adam to a room to change... why don't you three have a seat. Master Saul will be here soon to greet you. "

Sitting down, Drake and the others waited for their host. Soon, a man wearing the gold mask of an Assemblyman, and the white robes of the Guild, came down the stairs. "Am I to thank you for bringing my brother back to me?" The man asked.

"You can say that," Tidal nodded in a guarded tone.

"Then you have my thanks... and my hospitality," the man said as he removed the mask from his face.

Drakes eyes darted up to the man's face... marked by its sharp features, purple eyes, and light blond hair.

"We thank you for your offer, but we should be continuing on our way," Tidal said.

"But," Drake and Austin both protested.

"We have no time..." Tidal insisted.

"It looks like you are out voted," the Assemblyman laughed.

Tidal glared at his two companions. "Looks like I am."

"Come now, sir... I promise you will be well cared for. My name is Saul... Saul Van'tol. May I have your names?"

"I am Tidal Van'dar. My companions are Drake Van'sol and Austin... well Austin is not a Guild's man."

"I see... so that would mean you are not from Aegis?" Saul asked.

"No... I am from Aquarius. Austin, here, is from Wor."

"The dark world?" Saul asked Austin.

"I am really getting tired of everyone calling my home a dark world," Austin pouted.

"Well, is it not outside the light of the Guild?"

"If you are asking is it free from the iron grip of an insane Prelate, then it is," Austin replied.

"The Prelate is the Prelate... his rule must never be questioned," Saul said, stone faced.

"Even if he is a monster who tried to steal your brother's soul?" Tidal demanded.

"Adam... Adam has always been weak. That is why the Prelate picked him."

"So you are saying your brother's suffering is his own fault?" Austin shouted.

""If my brother had been stronger..." Saul started to say, but was stopped by the feel of tiny sharp teeth biting into his leg.

"Puppy!" Drake jumped as he saw Saul trying to shake the dog free.

"I take it this thing is your pet?" Saul asked with distaste.

"She's Puppy." Drake replied as he pulled the dog free.

"I see," Saul replied, his purple eyes focused on Drake's face. There was something about this man... something Saul was finding irresistible. "So you are of the rebel house of Van'sol... the Prelate was much disturbed when he could not find any of you on Aquarius."

"Why are you so mean?" Drake asked as he took a step back.

"I am not cruel... I only see the world for what it is. My family... the Van'tols, is one of the oldest in the Guild. Three Prelates and their counterparts are counted among my ancestors. Such longevity only comes by accepting reality... and that reality is decided by the Prelate."

"But the Prelate killed Clive... and uncle Claw... and..." Drake said, as tears began to build in his eyes.

Tidal's eyes went fire red as he glared at Saul. "I think we will be leaving."

"But we just got here," Austin moped.

"We're going," Tidal said sternly, as he tried to push past Saul.

"I don't think you are... Tidal Van'dar. There is a warrant for your arrest."

"And you think you can stop me," Tidal laughed at the shorter man.

With a snap of Saul's fingers over a dozen iron-masked men filled into the room, followed by a steel-masked Star General and three silver masked Guild Mistresses.

"Austin... get us out of here," Tidal hissed as he pulled Drake back.

"I can't... they're blocking me," Austin replied as he pointed to the three Guild Mistresses.

"There is no where you can run Tidal Van'dar," Saul chuckled before turning to his guards. "Take them away."
