The Submariner

Chapter 1: Training

James P. Bolt

Training has already gone on for two months, it's been rough but we are tough. Captain Kirk walked over to our table the other day while in the mess and I commented about his name making me think of the Star Trek movies, you know, the ones with Chris Pine playing James Tiberius Kirk. "Son, how old are you?" he asked.

"I turned eighteen a month before I graduated from school, sir," I replied.

The captain looked right at me and I swallowed hard, "Then you probably can't tell me who played the original James T. Kirk, can you?"

I grinned, "Yes sir, his name was William Shatner. I have an aunt who lives next door to his ranch in Kentucky."

"Yet you comment about my name reminding you of the movie with Chris Pine? Are you not aware that my first name is William?" The captain had a dumbfounded look on his face.

"Honest to God sir, I've only heard you called Captain Kirk. I see the connection, and guess that your parents were, what was the word back then, a `trekkie'?"

"Yes they were, but they didn't want to name me James. They worried that I would get picked on and such, so they gave me the actor's first name."

"That's cool sir, thank you for sharing that. As much as I already respect you, I think you made it go up a notch somehow."

"What's your name, son?" Uh Oh, I think I just put myself on the Captain's radar.

"My name is Crewman Drage, sir, Crewman Zarek Drage."

The captain had a weird look on his face, "Drage, I believe that is Danish, but isn't Zarek Greek?"

I kinda chuckled as I explained my name to him, "Yes sir, on both accounts, Drage is Danish and means dragon'. Zarek is in the book of names as Greek and means God protect our king', but that's not how my parents came up with the name."

"You see some humor in this, so you have me curious," our CO stated.

"My parents were also Star Trek fans when I was born, sir. They were fond of Mr. Spock and my dad's name is Zack, so they wanted to create a Vulcan name for Zack. Spock's father was named Sarek so they took that, dropped the S and added a Z. That is how they came up with Zarek for my name." The captain grinned as I finished telling him.

"Zarek, you may hate me before you get on that sub. I am personally going to see to your training. You will work harder than anyone else, but when you are done, you will be twice as good as everyone else."

"Sir, knowing that you are doing it to make me better and not that I've done something wrong, I will put my best effort in to make you proud that you chose me, sir."

After the CO left our table, he walked onto the platform. "Good morning Crewmen, most of you have already met me. For those that haven't, I am Captain Kirk. I will be the CO of the sub once she is completed. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that we have decided on a name for the sub. With it being a science research vessel, the owner and I were trying to come up with a really good name that reflected that. Well, a few of you chuckled when I told you my name. I am discovering that there will be more and more Star Trek references aboard the boat, so we decided to dedicate the boat to the science officer from Star Trek. No, it will not be the SSN Spock, but instead, we decided to name it after the late actor who played him. Our boat will be named the SSN Leonard S Nimoy."

Captain Kirk was starting to step down from the platform when another crewman yelled, "Sir, what's the bad news?"

Kirk stopped where he was and looked around the chow hall. He looked in my direction and smiled, "Actually, whether it is bad news depends on how you look at it. A part needed for the Nimoy is out of stock and having to be fabricated. The crew doing the overhaul says that this will push the job back about three months giving us seven months before we get underway. IF you want to look on the bright side, that means three extra months of training. You will be better prepared for whatever we may encounter. With this delay, we were able to schedule about half of you to go to Nuke school. The Navy has agreed to perform this training in exchange for some of their officers being aboard the boat."

With that, the captain stepped down. He came back over to my table and told me to finish up. After I ate my last bite, I took my tray to be washed and then followed the CO. For the next six hours, he had me training harder than I ever did with the rest of the crewmen. I sat at the helm, I played out a hose to put out fires a few times, and all sorts of things that I can't tell you for security reasons. And if I screwed up, I had to do push-ups. I was so exhausted before I returned to the dorms, or rather barracks.

I opened the door, walked over to my rack and flopped down on it. Jake looked at me and grimaced, "Dude, you need a shower. No offense, but... You stink."

"I know I do, but I don't think I have the strength to go take one." I replied.

Jake got out of his rack and removed my boots and socks. Then he turned me over and sat me up so he could slip my shirt over my head. I'm not really sure how I should have reacted, but I was enjoying this. After my shirt was off, Jake undid my pants and yanked them off, along with my briefs. Once I was completely naked, Jake took his own clothes off. Let me tell you, he has one hell of a nice body, all five feet ten inches of him. Think of the most attractive body you can and Jake is ten times better looking.

Jake pulled me up and almost literally carried me to the showers. He leaned me against the wall, then locked both doors so no one could come in on us. Once he had the water to where he was pleased with it, he forced me into the shower. I stood there and I guess I smiled or something because before I knew it, his mouth was on mine and I felt his tongue doing research inside my mouth.

I wished that the kiss was longer, but Jake pulled away and looked at me, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that, but I've wanted to ever since I met you."

Now I know that I grinned when he said that, but I didn't say anything. Instead, I pulled him tight against me. My twenty-one-inch cock, yes, I said twenty-one inch. It's my story, I can imagine my cock three times its real length if I want. Fine, my seven-inch cock was pressed against his nine inches. Are you happy now? My arms were wrapped around him, pulling his chest against mine. I looked into his blue eyes with brown specks, they were gorgeous. He took the hint and pressed his lips to mine again and I felt his tongue.

Next, Jake told me to kneel so he could wash my hair. I knelt alright, but there it was right in front of me, nine inches of eighteen-year-old boy meat. I had never sucked one before but was curious. I hoped that since he initiated the first kiss, he wouldn't freak, but I took what I could of his dick, tried swallowing it and gagged. Jake just washed my hair as though what we were doing was totally normal. How did I get so lucky as to share a space with the most handsome guy ever?

After Jake was done washing my hair and I swallowed a load of his young spunk, he washed the rest of my body. I think he was getting ideas because he used a lot of soap in my ass. Jake whispered in my ear, "If this hurts too much, say something and I will stop."

It did hurt at first, but I kept quiet. I've always heard that the first time really hurts but then gives way to pleasure. I'm not sure what he was rubbing in my ass with his cock, but it made my cock stand at attention and I even shot a load against the shower wall.

When the shower was done, Jake unlocked both doors and moved me back to my rack. He got in my locker and pulled a clean pair of skivvies out. To my dismay, he didn't put them on me, he just tossed them, hitting me in the face. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope that I'm too tired to shower every night," I joked. Jake just grinned at me as he got dressed.

After Jake was dressed, he started pulling a fresh uniform out of my locker. "You need to get dressed so we can go to the chow hall for supper. I hear that the new XO will be introduced and giving a speech. Com'n, you have twenty minutes."

Jokingly, I told Jake, "I bet supper won't be as good as the snack I had a few minutes ago."

"Yeah well, everyone needs to be down in the mess so get a move on. After Ryan goes to sleep, I wouldn't mind getting to know you better," Jake gave me a wink. I hurried to get dressed, then Jake and I rushed down to get our chow. We barely made it.

As we sat down with our chow, Captain Kirk walked onto the platform, "It looks like everyone made it, and this makes me happy. Our XO arrived today and will be introducing himself in just a few minutes. He is a naval officer, one of the ones I mentioned earlier. All of you will answer to him just as you do me. Commander, would you like to take the stage?"

"Thank you Captain," the XO started, "My name is Lieutenant Commander Larry Hooker, but you may call me Commander Hooker, or just Commander. For those wondering, yes I do have a brother Darrell, but not another brother Darrell." He paused while some of us chuckled. Jake and I didn't get the joke until someone older told us about Larry, his brother Darrell and his other brother Darrell on an old TV show.

The XO continued telling us a little about himself, "As Captain Kirk stated, I am in the Navy. I joined back in 2001, when I was merely twenty years old. I wanted to join the Navy all my life. My parents talked about a relative of mine, though distant, who served aboard a Destroyer during the Vietnam War. I don't know if he did anything heroic, but the way my dad talked, he was a hero. He was my inspiration and reason for joining. Now, I know that this isn't the U.S. Navy, but let me make one thing clear. I would advise you to think like the Navy does. We have been doing this since long before I was born, let alone you. Follow the Navy's example and you have a better chance of survival."

I looked at Jake and told him the XO did make a good point. Fortunately, the officers were either current Navy or former Navy and all had served aboard a sub before. We were being trained as close to the way the Navy trains without actually being in. The only real difference is, we could quit or be fired without going through a court martial or discharge of any sorts.

After Chow, we here given a few hours of personal time, but then they wanted us doing some night training at twenty-two hundred hours. For those of you who don't know military time, that's ten at night. They say, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. By the time our sub is ready, I'll either be dead or very strong. I'm hoping for the latter.

As Jake and I got back to our space, Ryan Martin was standing at his locker in his dress uniform. We looked at him puzzled and Jake finally spoke, "Dude, we have more training in just over three hours. Where are you going?"

"I'm taking my other uniform with me. Hopefully I make it to training, but Officer Kelly Jenkins invited me to her house," Ryan informed us. "If I'm late to training, start without me."

I voiced my concerns, "Dude, dating an officer? Is that wise?"

"This isn't the Navy. She's a beautiful woman and I'm the best looking guy on the planet. I can't deny her this," Ryan was trying to make us sick, I was sure of it. Jake actually ran to the toilet and vomited.

"Dude, you are far from the best looking guy on the planet," I stated without even thinking.

"What, have you been checking me out? You're not one of them fags are you?" he asked. He left before I had a chance to answer. I heard Jake brush his teeth and gargle before he came out of the shitter. I decided to strip and lay in his rack.

When Jake came out, he didn't even look at me, he was staring at my rack and inquired, "Did he really say that he was the best looking guy? Has he even looked in the mirror?"

"He did and I doubt it. I've seen orangutans eating their own feces that looked more attractive than him. You, on the other hand," Jake jumped when I spoke as he wasn't expecting the voice to come from his rack. When he saw me, he smiled and got naked.

Climbing into his rack, we started kissing. Jake knows how to kiss, that's for sure. He leaves me breathless and wanting more. Jake started kissing down my neck, and I may have felt teeth. If he's a vampire, he can have as much of my blood as he wants. I felt Jake working my nipples; sucking, licking nibbling, until they both were rock hard. Then he kissed down my abs until his tongue did some research in my naval navel. I crack myself up sometimes.

As Jake got to my rock hard cock, I looked down at him, "Don't I get any dessert?"

"Nope, not this time," he stated and my pouting didn't do any good because he wasn't looking. Since I wasn't getting his cock, my hands played in his luscious black hair. I was so glad that we aren't Navy and having to get military haircuts. I just love Jake's hair the way it is.

Just as I started feeding Jake my load, the fire alarm went off. I knew Jake was hot, but I didn't think the alarms would go off because of him. He finished up and we slipped our skivvies on. We ran out into the hall and there was a guy who must have been in the shower. He was dripping water and looked like he only had a towel wrapped around him.

Some of the crewmen started running outside. I looked at Jake, "We have to find the fire and put it out. If we were on the sub, it would be our job."

"You have a point, and I don't think this fire just happened. I think this is a test," Jake concurred.

We found the fire, it was several trash cans in an empty room. Eight other crewmen helped us and we got the fire out. Chief Barker started clapping. He's our COB, or Chief of the Boat. He told us to get dressed and make our way to the training session.

Following orders, Jake and I were at the session at twenty-one forty-eight. We didn't see Ryan anywhere around. At five minutes before the hour, COB stood on the back of a company truck. Did I forget to mention, we weren't in a building this time. COB waited for a few stragglers, but right at twenty-two hundred hours, Cob started to speak. "Thank you everyone for being on time. I appreciate those of you who were five minutes early or more. My on time is actually five minutes early." I made a mental note of that, not that it really mattered, I consider myself late if not five minutes early.

"Tonight, we had a fire. Some of you ran outside but ten of you realized that the fire needed to be put out. Crewman Daniels, are you any relation to Jack?" Everyone chuckled.

"My dad's name is Jack, Chief," Jake started, "but we are no relation that I am aware of to the ones who make the alcohol." Everyone laughed even more.

"Damn, well if they ever send you any, you best share with me," COB grinned.

"I will, Chief," Jake answered.

"You were one of the crewmembers who helped put out the fire. Why?" COB asked.

Jake smiled before answering, "Crewman Drage advised me that if we were on the sub, firemen wouldn't be coming and it would be our job to put it out. I concurred and thought it might have been a test."

"And you were right, it was a, well, hello Mr. Martin. I'm so glad that you felt this session was important enough to be here on time," COB did not look happy.

"I'm here," Ryan stated.

"Yes, yes you are, only ten minutes late. You may go back to your space and pack your bags. If you can't be on time, you will not be a part of my crew," COB seemed strict, but I understand the need, especially with Ryan's attitude. Hopefully, I'll never be late, but if I am, I hope to have an excuse that he will understand. "Now, where was I before the intrusion? Oh yes, It was a test. The ten crewmen who put out the fire, you are dismissed for the night. Rest of you, we will be running fire drills for the next four hours. You will be told there is a fire and approximately where it is. I will time you to see how long it takes to put out the fire. And another fire may or may not start at the same time. You never know."

"COB," Crewman Lafayette spoke up, "I want to thank you for dismissing us for our action, but would it be acceptable if I stay? More training will only make me better, Chief."

"Yes, by all means. If you want to train to be better, I am happy to oblige," the COB seemed happy for once. All ten of us stayed. I was still tired from the training that the Captain gave me, but there was no way I was going back to my space at this time. When the session was over, Jake may have to shower me again, that is, IF he has the strength to do it himself.
