Uneventful Events
(Have Fate)
If you live and breathe, you are a victim of the spinning top of fate. Every time the top falls over, and you set it to spinning again, you are changing something in the way the top revolves. Perhaps it's the speed, or the slight angle at which it spins. So it is with us. With every breath we take, our lives are governed by cause and effect, just like the top.
How many times have you wondered; if I had set out five minutes later, or five minutes sooner, would I have avoided the four car pile-up? Or, if I hadn't gone to that birthday party when I was a kid, would I ever have met my BFF. We could go on forever with examples. It's a variation of the "what if" game. The bottom line is that every minute of every day an event occurs in our lives. It isn't something we make a big deal over because the incidents are so uneventful. We don't even notice them, but down the road, they may greatly impact our lives.
Let me tell you a little story about how a series of uneventful events completely altered the life of Charles Spencer:
Charlie Spencer worked for a mega marketing firm in Chicago. It was his first job after college, and he was low man on the totem pole for about six months. Then Victor Brookfield was hired, and Charlie was no longer the most junior of all the staff. The two men were introduced, and they were always friendly toward each other, but there was no chemistry between them. They rarely worked together, and if they met on the street, they might not have recognized each other.
Maybe they would have bonded in some small way, if circumstances had been different. You see Charlie was gay, and out of the closet. More than that, he was a player. Vic was straight, and a newly-wed to boot. His life style was the opposite of Charlie's; very conservative. Nobody in the office gave Charlie a bad time, but none of the men seemed interested in interacting with him on a social level. One day, on their way to lunch, Charlie and Vic found themselves alone on the elevator. They smiled at each other, but neither of them spoke.
Just as the elevator doors opened to the lobby, Vic asked, "Are you going to lunch, Larry?"
Charlie did not get angry at Vic's mistake. He didn't know Vic's name either.
"Yes, I am," Charlie answered, and by the way, my name is Charlie, Charlie Spencer, and you are?"
Vic apologized profusely. He held out his hand and said, "I'm Vic Brookfield."
The two men shook hands, and Vic asked if Charlie would like company at lunch. None of the straight men in the office had ever wanted to have lunch with him, and Charlie was pleasantly surprised. He wondered if Vic knew that he was gay.
"Sure," Charlie answered. "I hate to eat alone."
"Where are you headed?" Vic asked.
"The Chinese restaurant around the corner."
"Good choice. Let's go."
They each had the luncheon special; soup, egg roll and an entrée. At first they ate in silence. Neither of them had much to say to the other. Finally Charlie thought that if Vic was nice enough to invite him to lunch, he should be friendlier.
"Tell me about yourself," he said to Vic. "Where did you go to college? When did you get married? That sort of thing."
When Vic told Charlie that he had graduated from Northwestern, Charlie said that he had gone there too, and they established that they had graduated in the same class. Now they got really excited and conversation flowed easily as each one filled the other in on their lives.
As they got up to leave, Vic said, "That was fun. Would you like to have lunch together tomorrow?"
"I'd like that very much," Charlie answered, and that was the beginning of their friendship.
If they hadn't ended up together on the same elevator, that friendship would never have happened. What could be more uneventful than a ride on an elevator?
In spite of their growing friendship, they never socialized. Nevertheless, one day, Vic asked Charlie what he was doing for Thanksgiving. Vic said that his parents had moved to Scottsdale, and he had no other family. Anyway, since he came out, his folks were very uncomfortable when he was around them, so he wasn't about to knock himself out to make the trip. When Vic heard that Charlie had no plans for the holiday, he invited him to join his family.
"It'll just be me and my wife, and my brother and his wife," Vic said.
He was aware that Charlie wasn't seeing anyone special, but he added, "If you'd like to bring a friend, that'll be fine." Charlie couldn't think of anyone that he cared to ask.
"Thanks, but I'll be alone," he told Vic.
Charlie arrived at his friend's house, and presented his wife, Cheryl Ann, with a beautiful bouquet of fall flowers. She arranged them in a vase and used them as a centerpiece on her dinner table.
It was the first time Charlie had met Vic's wife. She was beautiful, but Charlie was surprised to see that she was Asian. He thought that maybe that was the reason Vic was so accepting of minorities, like himself.
Vic offered Charlie a glass of wine, and just as Vic handed the glass to him, Vic's brother arrived. It was obvious that he was an older brother. Charlie placed him at about thirty. Michael was an exceptionally handsome man, as was Victor, but his wife, Cindi, was rather plain and mousy. Her hair was disheveled, and her dress was not very fashionable. Nevertheless, Michael and Charlie hit it off from the get-go, and they got carried away in an animated conversation. In fact, in a very short time, the casual observer would believe that Mike and Charlie were a couple who had come to this dinner together.
By the end of the evening, Mike felt comfortable enough to say to Charlie, "I don't want to be presumptuous, but I have a gay friend, a very handsome gay friend, who's a truly great guy. I think you two would really enjoy each other's company. I'd like to arrange for you two to meet, if you don't have any objections."
"I have no objection at all," Charlie said sincerely. He liked Mike so much that he was sure his friend would be equally as nice.
"Great," Mike said. "Do you know where Toby's Bar and Grill is?"
Charlie nodded. "Harry and I have a TGIF drink there every Friday night after work. How about meeting us there about 5:30 next Friday? We're both off tomorrow, so this Friday is cancelled."
"I'd like that a lot," Charlie said. I'll be there.
So here's how things stand so far, regarding uneventful events. Charlie finds himself alone on an elevator with Vic, whom he barely knows. They agree to have lunch together and a friendship brews. The friendship grows to a point where Vic invites Charlie to dinner at his house. At the dinner, Charlie meets Vic's brother, Mike. The two men really enjoy each other's company, and before the evening ends, Mike proposes a meeting with his gay friend, for possible future romantic involvement, and Charlie accepts the proposal. Every event propelling Charlie toward his destiny is a non-event to say the least.
Toby's was basically a straight bar, and it was filled with wall to wall people on Friday evening. It seemed that all of Chicago descended on this one location for a good old TGIF drink. Charlie came in and was overwhelmed with the magnitude of the crowd. He feared that he would not find Mike in this sea of humanity.
He looked ahead and saw a hand waving at him. He worked his way to the waving hand. It was Mike, all right, and his friend. Charlie was more than surprised when Mike gave him a hug.
"Charlie, meet my friend Harry."
Harry and Charlie clasped hands to introduce each other. Mike hadn't lied. Harry was one handsome dude. Charlie wasn't sure about a romantic involvement, but he didn't think he would mind tricking with Harry at all. Harry was about Mike's age.
The three men had a couple of drinks together and made easy conversation for a little over an hour. Finally, Mike said, "I have a train to make out to the burbs, so I'll leave you guys alone." He shook their hands and looked at Charlie. "Will you join us again next Friday?" he asked.
"You bet," Charlie answered. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
When Mike left there was an awkward silence. Finally, Harry asked, "Do you live around here Charlie?'
`Practically walking distance," Charlie answered.
"Me too. I guess we're neighbors. Hey, I've got an idea. This place is so noisy, I can't think straight. How about taking a short walk to my apartment. I'll make us some drinks, and we can get better acquainted."
Charlie wasn't sure what Harry meant by "better acquainted," but he really wanted to find out. "That sounds like a plan," he said.
When they entered his apartment, Harry encouraged Charlie to remove his shoes and tie, and relax. Charlie nodded and the two men got more comfortable with each other.
"What would you like to drink?" Harry asked.
"Scotch straight up," Charlie replied.
While Harry was preparing their drinks, Charlie made himself comfortable on the sofa. Harry handed Charlie the drink, and sat down next to him as close as he could possibly get.
"Are we going to play a little tonight?" Harry asked.
Charlie certainly wasn't surprised by the question, but he said, "I really like you, and I think you're hot, but I don't know. We just met."
"Please don't leave me with blue balls," Harry pleaded. "If Mike wasn't trying to fix us up, he would have come home with me."
Charlie was shocked, but he shouldn't have been. He had been with plenty of married men whose proclivities lay elsewhere than in the arms of a full breasted woman.
"Wow," he said. "Have you got any other zingers for me?"
"Yeah," Harry laughed. "Mike wants me to ask you if you would be interested in a three way with him and me."
"Mike is a gorgeous hunk of man, and ordinarily I'd jump at the chance to have sex with him, but how could I face his brother Vic at work the next day?"
"That's not something you need worry about. Vic is fully aware of Mike's other life."
Charlie was beyond being shocked, but he had a thought, and had to ask, "Has Vic ever joined you and Mike?"
"Hell, no. The guy is so in love with his wife, it's almost disgusting."
Somehow Charlie was relieved. "I don't think that's disgusting at all," he said. "Someday, I would hope that someone would love me like that, and I would love him back the same way."
"Jesus, Charlie," Harry said. "Maybe I sounded like a slut before, but I want the same things you want. Please stay here tonight. Let's make love, and see where it goes from there. Honestly, I can see spending my life with you." He took Charlie's drink and laid it on the coffee table alongside his. When his hands were free, he embraced Charlie and leaned in for a kiss. Charlie smiled at him, and their lips met.
The kiss started out as a mere brush stroke, but little by little, their mouths opened and their tongues met. A sigh escaped from both of them, and the kiss became a kiss of great passion.
Moments later they were in the master bathroom, naked, and Harry was starting the spigots in the shower. They were still kissing. When Harry was satisfied with the water temperature, he broke the kiss, and said, "Your cock is amazingly beautiful."
"Yours is a work of art," Charlie countered.
Both men were uncut, about four inches flaccid, but now they were fully erect at about six and a half inches. Charlie was glad that neither of them was monstrous. Ass fucking would be so much more pleasant.
When both their bodies were soaking wet, Harry took a bar of soap, and began to bathe Charlie. He tried not to miss a spot, but of course, he concentrated on Charlie's cock, balls and ass. After a while he handed the soap to Charlie, who returned the favor. Involuntarily, he began to ream Harry's ass hole, and Harry was moaning, groaning, sighing and purring, all at the same time.
When he could manage to speak, Harry said, "Please Charlie, fuck me. I need it badly from anyone, but I want it desperately from you."
Charlie took that as a compliment. "Do you have any condoms in the shower?" he asked.
"I have never fucked before without protection," Harry said. "I was hoping that we wouldn't use those things between us."
"Please, Harry, you're sounding like we are going to be exclusive. It's too early to make that kind of commitment. I insist we use them."
Harry looked crestfallen. "Very well," he mumbled, "let's rinse off and hit the bed."
They took great pleasure in drying their bodies, and literally fell into bed while hugging each other tightly. Before he knew what happened, Harry was sucking Charlie's cock with obvious joy. I want to get you good and hard," he said when he came up for air.
Not surprisingly, a box of condoms and a tube of lube were sitting on Harry's night table. Charlie took them, and he prepared himself to fuck Harry. He greased Harry's ass hole and his own rubberized cock.
Charlie was about to ask Harry how he liked it, when he turned on his back and raised his legs. Charlie was happy to enter him missionary style. He slipped in easily, too easily, and he had to believe that Harry was a bottom, who had been fucked to glory many times in the past.
Charlie would have liked for this experience to last a long time, but Harry kept pumping his ass muscles around Charlie's cock, and he was driving Charlie crazy. He couldn't hold back, and he came screaming and bucking. It may have been short, but it was the most intense orgasm Charlie had ever had.
When he finally fell out of Harry's ass, Charlie went down on Harry, and sucked him into paradise. He swallowed everything, but he continued to nibble on Harry's foreskin until he realized that Harry was crying. He scooted up so that they were lying side by side, and he wiped away Harry's tears.
"What's wrong?" Charlie asked, utterly fearful.
"When Mike described you to me, I knew that you'd be very special. You didn't disappoint me. I know it's too soon, and you don't want to hear this, but I'm going to say it anyway, I love you Charlie. Please give us a chance."
"You're special too, and I do want to give us a chance," Charlie said. "You know that business about doing a three way with Mike? Forget about it. I want you all to myself."
Harry hugged Charlie so tightly; he feared that a rib had broken.
In a very short while, they made the commitment, and moved in with each other. What's more, neither of them ever cheated on the other.
Taking an elevator constantly is such an uneventful event, that Charlie never thought about it. But if he had taken the elevator before or just after the one Vic took, he would most probably never have met the love of his life. As a side thought, he would never have met his two best friends, the brothers Vic and Mike Brookfield.
