A Stepbrother's Desire - Josh and Tyson 57

I was just holding Ty up straight as he leaned a little further to one side than I was comfortable with.

"Gigi is here!" Ty's grandmother exclaimed. Ty pulled loose from me and ran to her. He threw his arms around here almost causing her to drop her purse. "Surprise, baby, surprise!" she oozed in her North Carolina drawl.

"Oh Gigi, I'm so glad to see you," Ty muttered into her bosom.

"Hey Gigi," I said. "This is a really big surprise."

"It was all I could do to keep Bill from spilling the beans," she said.

"It was tough," Bill said.

"I was only just made aware, myself. He knew I would fuss about the house," mom said.

"I'm really impressed someone your age can get around airports and stuff," I said, realizing just too late how that sounded.

"Joshua!" snapped mom.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that..."

"Oh noooo," said Gigi. "Let's get our arms around that. Please! What do you mean someone my age? Do tell," she said. Bill was laughing because he knew I was in the trap. Mom covered her mouth so I couldn't see her laugh.

"Well, I mean, being 90 is up there but that doesn't mean you can't get around I suppose. I'm really sorry, I didn't..." and everyone screamed with laughter this time. I didn't get it.

"90!" barked Gigi. "What makes you think I'm 90 years old? Good lawd, semty (70) years old is a long haul from 90! Hell, I would've had Bill when I was 45 years old!" and everyone was just cracking up.

"Ty told me you were 90 when I first met you," I said, straight faced. He turned from her and gave me an evil grin.

"Did he now?" she asked. "Rascal. Both of you are rascals!" she said.

"Um, Gigi, did I say how happy I am to see you?" said Ty in an angelic voice. I was surely going to kick his ass for this. Putting me in a spot with Gigi like this. Uncalled for!

"Help her get her things in, boys," instructed Bill. "Come on in and have a seat," Bill suggested. She headed to the island but stopped in front of my mom.

"Karen, you look gorgeous. I hope you're doing well," Gigi said, then she took a seat on a barstool. "A gin and tonic would surely soothe the nerves after all that airport hustle," she said. "Well, being 90 years old and all!" Bill headed straight to the cabinet and pulled out the necessary elements to mix Gigi a cool drink.

Ty and I brought in her things and headed up the stairs with them, placing them neatly in the guest bedroom. Ty rushed back down and I followed.

"To be fair," said Gigi, looking at me, "I do use a walker around that facility but it's to keep me from slipping on one of those dreadful rugs they line the halls with," and she took a sip of her drink. "Mmmm, that's good. Thank you, Bill." she said gingerly.

"So, Josh, I'm thrilled I get to see you graduate from high school. How excited you must be!"

"I am. I can't believe it's just this week."

"And heading to the University. I'm so proud. I know your parents must be as well."

"We are," said Bill. "We are."

As Gigi took the last sips of her drinks, she asked us to show her upstairs to her room so that she could freshen up. She heaved up the stairs with Ty and me in tail. Ty helped her unpack her things and put her dresses on hangers. I pulled fresh towels out of the closet for her bathroom.

We took Gigi to our den where she took a seat on the couch. "This wasn't here before? Wasn't this a bedroom?"

"No, this was my work room for my online store. We turned it into a den so we could hang out up here and have our friends over," Ty said.

"Ty did all the decorating," I offered.

"Goes without saying," said Gigi. "I think it's marvelous. So comfortable!" she said approvingly. "So boys, I know there's a lot going on. Gigi wants to hear it all and please, oh please, let me offer my opinion where I have one. I want to make sure I get it all out!" Ty and I nodded. "I thought it was going to be special to see one graduate from high school but to see you both do it, well that's a life bonus. But it comes with a struggle doesn't it?"

"Yes ma'am," I said.

"What's the mood among your set?" she asked.

"Everybody's angry about something, Gigi. There's been a lot of violence," said Ty. "One of my teammates got pushed down some stairs at the mall. Tristan got punched in the face Friday night. I don't know, its just..."

"What? Our little Tristan? Who would do that to him?" she asked.

"He's not so little anymore Gigi but one of the football players did it. They had words," he said, trying to leave it without further explanation.

"Lawd, I'm so sorry to hear that. Can he come around and visit? Is he ok?" she asked.

"Oh yes, I think he will be fine."

"He lost a back molar," I said, "but his dad's a dentist so they will get him an implant."

"Gracious. The one thing I can tell you boys is that anger and hostility have always been there. We have all committed or contributed to it. You can't control someone else's fate but you can be the master your own. Control your anger, find something else to focus on and get the hell out of the way of other people's. Understand?" she asked. We nodded. She looked out the window and thought for a moment. "You see, when I was about 14, we had a hot summer. It was so hot we couldn't find a place to cool off to save our lives. I told my friend Mary Louise to keep her mouth shut so that she didn't spread more hot air!" and Ty and I laughed. We could hear her saying this.

"I came into my room one day and I found my brother Kelvin playing in my jewelry box. I had caught him several times in there and I told him to get his filthy hands out of my stuff. I was in such a bad mood, was so hateful. I told him he was a sissy, he might be fit to be the flower girl in my wedding one day and that he should go play in momma's jewelry box!' She was quiet for a moment. I thought this sounded pretty harsh.

"He looked at me with such a face. It was neither angry nor hurt and Ty, I have seen this look on your face. It reminds me of that day so often," Gigi said.

"Ty doesn't know the look but I do. I know exactly what you're talking about," I said.

"Of course you do," Gig said. "Well, Kelvin walked quietly out of my room, and within the hour, I was crying on my bed. I felt so ashamed of myself, so guilty. Who the hell was I to talk to someone like that, especially someone who looked up to me and just wanted to admire my pretty things. I cried all evening, couldn't even eat any dinner." She stopped for a moment and touched one of her eyes. "Hurts me to this day. From the next day on, Ty, I made sure that my little brother Kelvin never had to give me that look again. I told him I loved him everyday and I showed it too. We played dress us and he danced in my shoes. I let him in to tell him all the secrets and gossip I had heard and he loved it. The face that haunted me at night turned to the brightest and happiest face, right up until the end. I may have been cross with folks, well once or twice, but I never showed that kind of behavior again, and she became quiet, still looking out the window. "Heaven knows I hope it was enough. And, Josh, I know you wonder where I got my closing sentiment that I shared with you and Ty when you left Ashville. Well, that was the last thing I said to my brother before he died and I'm so thankful I did," and her eyes welled up. Mine were on the verge of doing the same. Ty had the look, the very one she had described - blank, speechless.

"What about your friend, Mary Louise? Didn't she meet your wrath enough times?" asked Ty, poking fun.

"Well, I had to rake her across the coals on occasion but I told you before, that was to inspire her and she did the same to me. That was never intended to be hateful," and she laughed. "That Mary Louise, how I miss her. Kelvin too!"

"I was quite violent myself, Gigi. I hit the guy that hit Tristan to prevent him from doing more damage. I haven't felt that kind of anger since, well, that guy pushed Ty down into the dirt. It's no better, is it?" I asked, feeling as if my conscience was getting the better of me.

"Well, to be fair, if you did strike him as you described, that's not exactly hostility; however, sometimes you have to bring a rabid dog down. You didn't seek the violence, you weren't on the verge of it and you didn't strike an innocent person. I suspect that young man has bigger problems than you right now," Gigi said. I felt a ton better. Ty and I would discuss this later and would agree, it seemed so much easier having this conversation with Gigi than our parents. They would have an altogether different approach to absolving us of our sins. Gigi hit the mark.

Over the next few days, Ty and I would settle things with other folks as well. He and I went over to see Tristan, who was at school Monday but he didn't say much.

"Hey Tristan," Ty said, as we eased into Tristan's house.

"Y'all come on in," he said in a slow tone. We eased back to Tristan's bedroom which was usually something out of a magazine but today was a little cluttered.

"Haven't felt like cleaning. Sorry," he said. Ty fell into the chair while I took the seat at Tristan's desk.

"How are you, Tristan? Your swelling has gone down," I offered "Pretty face is back," I said, trying to cheer him up.

"Yeah, I have a hole now," he said, showing us where a back molar tooth had been pulled. "They thought they might have to wire my jaw but they didn't. It's sore but the swelling has gone down," and he took a seat on the edge of his bed.

"So Tristan, we think, well Ty and I think, that some things have gone down and well, we hoped you would talk about them," I offered as sincerely as I could.

"You're just curious that's all," Tristan said.

"Tri! You know me better than that. And what I also know is that you and I used to tell everything. I mean, I know you need some privacy but you can still trust me. I know you've been on a roller coaster. Tell me," Ty said, in a whispered voice, getting up from the chair and sitting by Tristan on the bed.

"The Roman thing went bad as you all predicted then when Roman got physical with me, well, Bryce came to my rescue. And before you say anything, I know you're already suspicious, so I'll just spill it. We hooked up. He didn't want to tell anyone and neither did I so we just kept it to ourselves. The problem was, I liked him and he liked me. It was like we knew each other so well. He was so...nice. After all the other stuff, it was good to be with someone I trusted. I'm sorry if that upsets everyone," he said.

"It doesn't upset me. I know how Bryce is. He has a tendency to stand up for people when they need it. He has done that for me and I know that "affectionate" side Bryce has. You don't have to apologize," and he knew I was being honest. Ty rubbed his shoulder.

"I wanted to tell you but it was kind of an `all or nothing' kind of thing. I'm sorry," Tristan said..

"Let's let the drama settle down then let's have ourselves a little `drinking' night and you can tell me all about it,"eased Ty. "I know he's a stud, isn't he?" Ty said with a wicked grin. Tristan grinned and looked bashful.

"Oh he really is," Tristan said with a giggle. The mood was lightening.

"I agree," I replied and Tristan and Ty belted a laugh.

"The police have been slow to move on Roman. They got him on drug charges and other things. Some guys got on him pretty bad later that night and it turned into a big deal. He had a sweet side but has a short fuse. But you were right and that's it for me. No more blowjobs for football players and it's completely their loss!" Tristan said, as an announcement.

"Baby, I'm not a football player anymore but I still have some `jock' status. Just saying," I said playfully, slipping over to his other side. Those glassy eyes flashed at me and he smiled.

"Let's see what Ty thinks of your innuendo!" he quipped.

"Let's talk about that on our little `drinks' night too!" Ty said, cracking up laughing.

We spent some time with Tristan letting him tell us about Jack who wants to get back together.

"Even after the Roman thing?" I asked.

"He doesn't care. He had a thing too and it was short lived. It was like a commercial break."

Tristan said they had not confirmed a reunion but it was on the table after graduation. Jack felt terrible that he wasn't there at the party. He felt like he had never been there on important occasions but Tristan reminded him that he had been there through so much, including the stuff with Tristan's mom. Maybe the summer would be good because they wouldn't have school and sports and things going on.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Ty and I took a break from entertaining Gigi and drove out to the club. Ty had texted Ash to see how he was doing and to find out where he would be hanging out. He was going to be at the club doing some `racket' therapy to help his hand and wrist heal. He really wanted to play tennis again. We drove out to the club in hopes of finding him. I hadn't been out there on a weekday afternoon in a while. I didn't recognize the mood. It was slow and relaxed. Different people were milling about for different reasons. Some ladies were there having a glass of wine while men were about playing golf or pretending to play golf. There were some tennis matches going on but they looked more leisurely than anything.

We found Ash hitting the ball with a friend, just easing it back and forth. They looked to be in rhythm with each other. I told Ty I didn't think I could do that. I was too competitive. He said he had a hard time doing it too but being able to lob back and forth was a good skill have. Ash rushed over to us.

"Hey guys, what you up to?" he asked. "I appreciated you texting me, Ty," he offered.

"I just hope you're getting better soon," Ty said. "And about that, Ash, I had a terrible fear that you thought I had something to do with you, um, your accident. I wanted to tell you that I didn't," Ty said.

"Oh I know!" Ash said. "It was a cluster fuck and it was totally my fault."

"But it involved Lisa, didn't it?" I asked, sounding like some tv detective.

"Oh shit, she's always been trouble for me!" Ash said. "So last year, I missed a date with her and you know how she is. She wouldn't let it go."

"That's Lisa alright," I said.

"Well I was feeling pretty good when your dad told them I should play tennis again. She texted me to see how I was and I told her I would be better if she gave me a second chance and well we bantered back and forth until I got her riled up. She asked those guys, whom she knew to razz me up if they caught me at the mall. Well, they did catch me and the problem was me and a couple of guys snuck a few beers after school and when these guys started spouting off some shit to me, I got mouthy back then I tried to push one of them and I ended up falling backwards on the stairs. I'm really lucky I didn't bash my head in!" he said with wild eyes. Ty and I breathed in a sigh of relief.

"I was given the impression that Lisa had taken a `mobster' stand on you!" I said.

"Bitch better not!" ASh said. "Just kidding. But no, I want to go out with her once before she heads out."

"I'm glad you told us all that," said Ty. "I was first afraid one of my other friends had caused it. I just don't know what people are up to these days!" Ty said.

"You got that right. I heard what went down at your field party. I couldn't believe it!" Ash said.

"Well that was a tough night," I replied. "I think everything's calming down now. We just wanted to be sure you were all good," I said. I had no reason to like this guy but then I realized I had no reason to dislike him. He was actually being very cool, maybe toned down since the incident with Ty. It's funny how presumptions get the better of you and cause you to pass judgements that aren't necessary. He was actually a likable guy.

"Hey Josh, I hope everything works out for you," he said, offering me his bandaged hand. I shook it gently.

"Thanks Ashton, you too. You better watch this one. He's on a roll you know."

"Don't think I don't know but I'm coming back for my seat just as soon as this is healed," he said, waving his lightly bandaged hand.

"I"m taking lessons from Colby over the summer," Ty announced. Ash's mouth turned down and it caused me to choke. That was hilarious.

"Really? He offered you that?" Ash said. "He's doing that to get back at me!" said Ash. "Long story!" he said. "Maybe he will let me take the lessons with you," Ash said.

"Ty can record the lessons on his phone!" I said with surprise. We all laughed. Ash needed to get back to his therapy and Ty and I were pleased that his fall down those stairs had nothing to do with us. Ty and I had agreed that Jordan could possibly do something terrible to someone if he wanted to and could probably get away with it but we weren't sure he could do it and not tell Ty he had done it. But in any case, this was not on his shoulders and it really wasn't on Lisa's either. Shew! So much `clean-up' in the works.

The last day of classes, although I didn't have an exam to take, poor Ty had his worst one. Calculus. I drove up to the school and cleaned out my locker. It was a stroll down memory lane. Lots of posted notes. Little notes Ty had sometimes slipped through the vent. There were some pics of us and our friends in different places. I brought out all the school books that had to be returned to the book repository. There were notebooks from each class. I wasn't sure if I wanted to throw them out. I had to deliberate if I needed them again or not. I decided I would keep calculus, history, and literature. There were interesting things in each notebook that might be used to refer back to. I looked at other people going through the same struggle. Some were howling with laughter while others looked about to cry. In the end, you have to come to terms that a high school locker was, well, your bedroom at school. The secrets and memories that were housed there were important, defining.

"Joshua!" screamed Bryce as he rounded the corner to my locker, hands full of books. "Ha ha! I hoped I would find you here," he said. I picked up my books and we headed to the repository. We turned down the hall and were met with a line of people.

"For fuck sake," Bryce said. "Wouldn't you know that there'd be like thirty people in line to turn in books?"

"I know," I retorted.

"Gentlemen!" snapped a familiar voice from behind us. Bryce and I turned to see Principal Dillard marching up the hall in our direction.

"Hello, sir," I said.

"Hey Principal Dillard," said Bryce.

"You two are no doubt ready to hand those in, I suspect," he said, pointing to our books. One guy ahead of us turned to see what was going on.

"They must be in trouble!" he shouted.

"Take `em to your office," another girl suggested. "I bet those two have been there plenty of times," and the people in line started to laugh.

"See what you started, Principal Dillard?. All it takes is you showing up!" and everyone's got really wide. That was a bold statement to be hurled at the principal but he had a good sense of humor and he chuckled.

"Rather like that pesky state patrolman who eases onto the highway and completely disrupts traffic! Makes you think you're speeding when, in fact, you're not!" he remarked. Everyone in line laughed. You could tell he was very much at ease and Bryce and I suspected he was enjoying the "audience" and a chance to show off.

"Ladies and gentlemen, and that includes you two," he said, pointing to me and Bryce. "I hope you all have a great and safe summer. Thank you for your contributions this year. And please remember...whatever you didn't get done this year, you'll have the chance next!" and he smiled. Looking to me and Bryce, "You two," he said in a quieter voice, "I have the highest hopes for you. Please do not be afraid to ever reach out to me or at least drop me an email regarding some great discovery, accomplishment, or announcement. My best to you," he said and shook our hands. He was preparing to walk off and I stopped him.

"Principal Dillard!" and he turned to look at me.

"Thank you, sir, for everything. "You've been a pillar to me and to Ty. You're a real nobleman," I said, feeling another wave of surprise come over me. "My mother would want me to tell you that," I said humorously, to take the sting off. Bryce jabbed my arm. Principal Dillard looked astonished. He removed his glasses as if he were going to clean them but he didn't have anything to clean them with.

"I will never forget you said that, Joshua Warner. Thank you," he said, with a bow. He returned his glasses to his face and turned to walk back up the hall.

Bryce and I were about to finish checking our books in when I got a text from Ty. He had finished his exam and wondered if I wanted to go home and get Gigi and take her out to eat. It wasn't what I wanted most in the world but it was a fine idea. She was just sitting home with mom who was busy transitioning herself from her old job to her new one.

I told Bryce I would catch up with him later. He came down the hall behind me before I was able to get out of the building.

"Hey, I know what's on your mind, Josh. I know it's eating you up," he said with a grin.

"What's that?" I said, truly not knowing the answer.

"Me and Tristan. You want the scoop on it, don't you?"

"Well, Bryce, I feel like I shouldn't stick my nose in it but given how much I care about both parties, I do want to understand it better. I meant that, by the way. To be honest, Tristan has already given Ty and me his thoughts on the matter, just so you know," I said.

"Really! What did he say?"

"Nothing that would surprise you. You came to the rescue, you were very caring and understanding and he felt very drawn to you. I told him I completely understand that because you have that way about you," I said.

"Really? He said that? You said that?" Bryce asked, leaning against the wall.

"Don't act surprised, Bryce. I'm not mad, just concerned."

"I figured you'd be mad that he and I, well, you know."

"I swear Bryce, I wish we were having this conversation over beers but it's ok. I don't blame you for wanting Tristan. You know I secretly lust after him! But I have a suspicion..."

"He's getting back with Jack? Well of course he is! That's how it works with me. I sweep in and take care of everyone's needs and they go back with who they really love!" and there was an air of pity in his statement. Bryce wasn't big on pity parties but I could totally see how he felt that way.

"You know what, Bryce, we're definitely going to have this conversation later. I know part of that statement was aimed at me and you're not lying. You have every right to feel that way. Every right! But I don't think anyone is meaning to take advantage of you. I think Tristan probably loves you like I do. You were his defender before he even knew it and well, you've certainly been there for me enough times."

"Yep, we need to have some beers for this conversation," Bryce said.

"But you probably don't want to `date' in the traditional sense as he and I do so it's not easy. Let's talk some more. Let's get a night together after graduation. I'm meeting Ty to take Gigi out of lunch." He nodded and I got away. That was a hard conversation to have with Bryce. Did I find Bryce attractive? Of course I did. If it weren't for Ty, could I be interested in him? Yep. Would he make sacrifices to be with me and call me his boyfriend? Nope. That's the problem with living a half life.

Ty was out in the parking lot waiting for me.

"Hey gorgeous, what you doing?" he asked.

"Looking for someone as gorgeous as you! That's what!" I said. "Had a bit of a conversation with Bryce," I said.

"Oh,"Ty said in a ghastly tone. "How was that?"

"As you would think. He's feeling sorry for himself."

"Damn. Let's talk more about that later. I want to go see Gigi!" Ty said. I wanted to hear how his exam went but he was backing his car out and was ready to head home. We met back at the house. Gigi was dressed and had her pocket book in her lap when we entered through the front door. She was obviously not wasting any time. Ty laughed and gave her a hug.

"Boys, be gentle with Gigi. She's not used to traveling," mom advised.

"Karen, honey, I can hold my own with these two, don't you worry," Gigi said. "They need to keep up with me. I'm slippery when wet, remember!" and she gave mom a sassy look. Ty and I cracked up as we watched Gigi leave through the front door. Mom laughed as we left behind her.

We had just put in our orders for Cubano sandwiches while Gigi ordered a Mediterranean salad when Gigi launched into the thing that was on her mind.

"How are things between you two these days?" she asked.

"Good," Ty and I both responded.

"It's really good, Gigi," Ty said, slipping his hand into my lap. "You know, I've told you," he said.

"I know but chit chat on the phone and real story' are two different things. I just wanted to be sure. Listen you two, I know everyone has opinions on how things will be or how they may happen once Josh goes off to college. Everyone will be concerned about how you two will make it work.'. Am I right?" Gigi asked. We nodded.

"It's about all I'm hearing these days, Gigi," I said. She nodded in response.

"The focus is on all the wrong things so I'm going to impart my wisdom and you can do what you want with it, that is, except throw it in the trash!" and we chuckled. "Always so dramatic!" I whispered to Ty as they placed our food on the table.

After the waiters had left, Gigi started back up. "So Josh, you are heading off to your freshman year of college. Mark my words. Its just as important as your senior year of high school. You'll be at the bottom of the totem pole again. You will be setting new habits, making new friends, well you understand. Relish every minute, son. Some of the most important things you'll learn happen in your freshman year. Don't waste a single second. That is," she said looking at Ty, "the same advice I have to give you. Your senior year is your rite of passage. You have important things to do, plans, commitments. Don't waste a single second worrying about `what if's' or you'll get distracted and lose your focus!" She took some bites of her salad.

"So you're saying if Josh and I spend a bunch of time worrying about each other, we won't take care of ourselves," Ty said, chomping into his Cubano.

"Exactly. Neither of you will have it better or worse than the other. Josh will be building new relationships and you will be living it with old ones. There are important times for you both and I want you to be in it, all the way, with everything you've got. Live it for what it is, not what everyone thinks it should be. Ok?" Gigi said.

"It's a long way from there to here. I can't figure out how to..."

"Then don't!" barked Gigi. "If you reach a point where you can't stand it any longer, make a weekend plan to visit each other. Otherwise, don't worry about it. Listen, have you ever walked down a sidewalk and found that one little blade of grass sticking up out of a sidewalk crack?" Ty and I both nodded with a chuckle. "Love is absolutely that strong. If the love is meant to be, it will survive. It may wane or even meander a little but if it's meant to be, it will be. Don't force it or try to manipulate it. You both have a lot of growing up to do. Some of it will be with each other and some of it will be on your own."

Gigi summed up her thoughts suggesting that while everyone was telling us to keep it together or be prepared to break up, her inclination was for us to do nothing, just go about our business and let love find a way.

"You know, Gigi, I appreciate you putting it that way because my friends have made me feel really weird. Ty and I have already talked about how awkward it will be for my new college friends to have to hear me go on and on about my high school boyfriend. But that doesn't mean I have to dump him. Right Ty?" Ty nodded.

"That's right, Josh. Focus on your freshman year. It's two semesters for Mary's sake!. The University is one of the toughest in the state,, and you need to have your game hat on, at all times!" and she gave me that "you better know it" look.

"I know. It scares me thinking about it."

"It should," said Gigi. "But you're smart Josh. I know you have what it takes. I'm not speaking out of turn here but Bill is elated. He thinks you're going to be running things one day. He thinks both of you have what it takes to lead. Your senior year and freshman year are going to prove that. Focus on that, ok?" said Gigi. Ty and I would talk later about what she said about Bill. I was flattered he would think that about me. I'm sure he always thought it about Ty. I knew when Ty sat his ass down on that tennis court last semester he would be somebody not to reckon with. That made me smile, remembering how obstinate he was.

Our lunch lightened up and we began story time, telling some of funnier experiences. Having said what was on her mind, Gigi was all ears. She loved a good story and the funnier the better. We got the best laugh when we told Gigi about the Netflix series, `Karate Kid'."

"Mister Miyagi!" she exclaimed. We told her how Bill had watched the series with us and maybe it was one of the first series he had ever watched on Netflix. Ty told how Bill had described her at the movies during the original movies, how she would fight the bad guys from her seat. She gave us a squinted eye look and said, "your father has a lot to answer for!" and we cracked up because we were sure that was code for "I'm going to get him for that!"

It was basically quiet for a Tuesday but my mother had been busy with something. Ty said he would explain it to me later. We sat around the rest of the afternoon and chatted with Gigi. We were barely hungry for dinner after the big lunch so mom was happy not to prepare a big meal since she was at the club doing something.

Bill came home and asked what was for dinner. Gigi laughed and said , "from the sounds of things, you can have ham and swiss or peanut butter and jelly!" That caused Ty to crack up with laughter. It was the look on Bill's face that caused me to laugh. That dry, "what am I supposed to do now?" look always cracked me up.

"You two can laugh if you like but you won't laugh for long," said Bill. "Come look," he said. We walked to the back door and I saw it immediately. The water fountain wasn't running.

"You two need to get under there to find the clog. It needs to be running this weekend. Got it?" said Bill, with a satisfied look. Ty looked at me.

"Oh no buddy, if I have to work on that thing, you do too!" Ty gave me a dry look as well.

"Hey Josh, I need to let you in on something," said Ty, causing me a bit of concern. "There's a special something that's happening on Friday night and you need to be prepared," Ty said.

"Oh really. What is that? Wait, Friday night? We don't have plans on Friday do we?" I asked.

"Well we do and it's been a surprise up to now but each of you are being warned now."

"Warned? What the fuck you talking about?" I said, getting agitated.

"So there's going to be a dinner Friday night, at the club. The idea started between mom and Mrs. Buxtehude. Then Mrs. Chatley got in on it and they brought in Ginny's parents and now Kyle's parents are in. It turned into a really big event, Josh. It might be one of the, um, most, well, it's supposed to be really awesome," Ty said, skirting words so carefully.

"Well, what is it? You can't leave me hanging here holding up a water fountain!" I shouted as the thing was very heavy. Ty peeked under and pulled out a hose that had gotten squinched in the cement. The water pushed forward and began shooting out of the fountain. I continued to hold the wretched thing until he could push the hose back in and away from the edge. When we got the fountain lowered, it was working and water was spraying into the cement fountain.

"Dad will be happy," I said. "Now, what is going on Friday night?" I demanded, as I wiped sweat from my forehead.

"It's just a dinner, a dinner at the club, for you all. A graduation dinner," and Ty's words choked. "It's going to be really nice," and tears dripped down his face.

"Aw Ty, why are you crying?"

"Even after what Gigi said at lunch, it's sad for me to think you and I won't be in school together anymore. It's over. That story is fin-nnn-nished," he stuttered and he fell into my arms. Oh my God, he kicked off my water works.

"Fuck, Ty, why did you have to get this started?" I asked, as we held each other. Finally, he pulled away and we got ourselves sorted out.

"It's a roast. They want you all to tell some stories or give some statements to your friends. Sum it up, if you will. They want you to be able to recognize each other and the bond you've all had," and he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Lawd," he said, almost funny, "I'm about to start again!"

"No, please don't!" I shouted at him. "Once was enough, babe," I said quietly. "So basically, I should think out what I would say to my friends?"

"A funny story or something, well, sweet. They want it classy," said Ty. "It's a dress up thing. You all will sit at the head table while we all sit at tables on the floor. Just give it some thought, Josh. Please take it seriously."

"I will do nothing but," I said. "I'm honored, actually. I think it will be a fine event and I hope it's Prime Rib!" and my words sounded like hiccups. Ty laughed. "I have one question..."

"What are you going to wear?" Ty interrupted.

"How'd you know?" and Ty screamed out with laughter.

"I got you covered, babe. Don't you worry," he said, and this time when he fell into my arms, it was to kiss me, in the backyard, with the sound of water gurgling through the fountain. When we broke the kiss, something made me look toward the breakfast room window. Gigi was standing there smiling. She gave us two thumbs up. Ty closed his eyes and shook his head.

"Of all the people," said Ty.

"At least it was her," I said. Ty nodded in agreement.

I supposed with the emotions running rampant as they were, we were both very horny. Even though I had gone to bed and was sleeping hard, I awoke to sensations that burning me up. Ty's lips were wrapped around my cock and it felt heavenly.

"If I could wake up like this everyday!" I hissed. I turned his body around and he straddled my face. His face literally spun on my cock. He didn't let it go for a moment. It took some effort, as it does with a curved cock, but I got him in to my mouth. I wetted a finger and slipped it into his hole. It was hot in there for sure! His cock was wonderful though. We hadn't done this in a while and him going up and down on me was causing me to arch my torso to meet him.

He popped out of my mouth and bent slightly and oh year, his asshole glided across my lips. I pushed my tongue forward and got a taste of his salty musk. He allowed me to do this for a few moments when he froze.

"Ohhh," he moaned and I was able to get him back into my mouth so that he could pump his load into me. He shot a good one, too. "Yum," I gurgled. And he kept sucking and stroking me until I flooded him. It took us a minute to assess the situation. He turned and crept up beside me.

"Why was that so hot?" Ty whispered in my ear.

"First, cuz you surprise attacked me," and Ty giggled. "Second, because Gigi is in the other room and you know this was one of our sneakiest escapades!" and Ty almost laughed too loudly.
