This will be the last of Daniel and JD for awhile, so that I can try out a new story line. I intend to come back to them, but I want some fresh ideas, so that I don't just drag them into the mud. This story is very graphic, and if you don't like violence, it's hard to take. That was the purpose. There is way too much violence, and a lot of people like the Cowboy are out there, and shouldn't be.

Daniel and JD part 9/ Love sucks bad

JD sat on his towel scrunching his toes in the sands of Anini Beach, watching the elder Cammus' romp with the elder Broedericks in the surf. Daniel walked up and handed him a coke and a glass of ice, then crossed his legs and sat on his own towel. Both had darkened their tans considerably, preferring to wear only Speedos for most of the day while they'd been in Hawaii.

Daniel followed JD's stare to their parents, silently watching as the old farts cavorted in the ocean waters. He snorted a laugh and shook his head. "They look like a herd of bald polar bears."

JD laughed out loud as the picture formed in his head. "We ought to call the wildlife people. I bet bald polar bears have never been scene out here before."

They watched in silence, occasionally laughing, but enjoying the pleasure they'd given their parents with the trip. The food had been fantastic, and the house that Tyler had rented for them was a small paradise. It sat behind them in the palm trees, a long rectangular affair looking like something Frank Lloyd Wright had drawn.

The main house consisted of two houses really, separated by a long hall that contained the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The twin master bedrooms at each end had private patios and baths with enormous roman tubs. It was sparsely decorated in what JD called modern Asian nightmare. There were bird pictures and statues everywhere.

Daniel and JD had taken the guesthouse. A much smaller and simpler building, it had a bedroom and bath, and a small living area that opened onto the beach. They had watched several spectacular sunsets together from the couch.

After five days of volcanoes and beaches, JD found that he was actually getting tired of it. They had golfed, swam, and eaten everything, and it was getting time to go home. The flight back to the real world left in the morning, and they had all elected to spend the last day together on their own little beach.

The next morning was a solemn affair as they all packed their luggage into the rented minyvan and headed for the airport. No one was really excited about the long flight home, but everyone was pleasantly worn out from the trip.

They landed in Portland in the mid-evening. The first thing Daniel noticed was that it was cold and drizzling, big shock, and the second hit JD at the same time. Where was Tyler?

Tyler sat at the kitchen table munching a peanut butter sandwich with Dorrito chips on it, creating a racket of noise that put Eddie into fits of laughter. Eddie's sandwich, identical sans chips, sat untouched because he couldn't stop laughing.

Tyler grinned around mouthfuls, deliberately taking his time and chewing slowly, making every crunch reverberate through the tiled kitchen. He would've entertained Eddie in anyway he could, just to here that laughter, but it seemed that the simplest way was best, and he took another bite, sending Eddie off his chair with delight.

They had spent the week together at the house, privately playing a sort of house like game, with Tyler working at home and cleaning, and Eddie coming home on his repaired bike at five. They ran through the house naked, making love whereever they stopped, shutting the rest of the world outside.

They had figured it out, and between them, they made more than enough to rent an apartment together. They had looked at a few, but decided to wait until JD and Daniel got home before they signed any leases.

They cleaned up the table and washed the dishes before going out onto the covered patio. With only a candle for light, they had no fear of discovery, and so continued unclad. This was their favorite time of day, or night, and they gently took each other. Tomorrow the bosses would be home, and their lives would go back to normal, making tonight something very special.

Tyler was unaware that they had dozed off, and woke up to a cramp in his calf. He carefully disentangled himself from Eddie, his Frisco, and limped into the house to urinate. The clock in the living room chimed eleven, and he made a mental note to drag Eddie up to his room. They needed to go into Portland tomorrow, and it was going to be a busy day.

He scratched his butt as he came out of the bathroom, heading for the patio. He turned, hearing a thump against the front door. It came again, like a piece of metal hitting the door jam. He started for the door to see what it was, not having any reason to be afraid, and reached for the knob.

The door burst in, slamming Tyler into the wall and knocking his breath away. He saw stars in his eyes, and tried to take a breath. A huge shadow walked in, totally blocking what little light came from the street lamp near the driveway. Tyler looked up into the darkest eyes he'd ever seen.

"What do we have here?" A deep, gravely, almost tortured voice grated. Tyler could smell strong alcohol, and his heart jumped into his throat. The shadow, wearing a very large black cowboy hat and duster coat bent down, almost at eye level with Tyler. "I guess my favorite faggot got hisself a little faglet."

The cowboy took Tyler by the throat and lifted him up, giant corded muscular arms raising him effortlessly to his feet. With his free hand, the cowboy grabbed Tyler's privates and squeezed hard, causing him to cry out in pain. "Where's my buddies, faglet," he breathed, overwhelming Tyler with the smell of whiskey. "Where's Cammus and Broederick."

"Get away from him you piece of shit!" Eddie ran in from the hall and threw a vicious kick, knocking the cowboy against the door. Two more cowboys ran in, sizing up Eddie and launching into the brawl. Tyler was tossed over the couch and landed against a low table, causing white-hot pain to explode through his left side. He had cracked ribs before climbing in New Mexico, and knew with a sickening feeling that he'd broken ribs again.

He struggled to lift his head, and saw Eddie fly into the banister, going through the rail supports. He got to his knees, cradling his arms around his side, then felt a large hand grab his hair, yanking him up. He screamed, the ribs grating against each other, and passed out, falling into the darkness.

He awoke in the bed of a pickup truck. He had tape over his mouth and was bound at the wrists and ankles. Eddie lay unconscious in front of him, also bound and gagged. Blood trickled over his forehead, and there were several bleeding cuts on his chest and stomach. Tyler hoped that he would stay out of it for a while.

They turned onto a dirt road, and every little bump caused excruciating pain in his side. The cold night air cause goose bumps on his still naked skin, and he terrified himself with visions in his mind of what might happen next.

When they stopped, he heard the three get out and slam the truck doors, one stopping to relieve himself on a nearby tree. There were tall pines all around, and the smell of rain. The three apparently built a fire, because it was easier to see, and the smoke stung Tyler's nose.

He carefully worked his way over next to Eddie, hoping to share a little of his body heat, and to see if he was at least breathing. He was. Tyler could hear bottles breaking, and realize with fresh fear that the big cowboy was drinking. He shivered in the cold air, listening intently.

Heavy footfalls came towards the truck, and the tailgate groaned as it opened. "Ahw, ain't that sweet." The cowboy's voice boomed. Tyler felt a massive hand on his arm, and he was hauled out of the truck and hit the dirt, nearly knocking him out from the pain. "The two little faglets are snugglin' up to each other. How sweet."

Tyler forced his eyes open. He had to stay awake. He had to find a way to help Eddie, who was being carried over to the fire by the other two cowboys. They slapped his face and threw some kind of liquid on his face, and Eddie stirred.

"This one's finally wakin' up!" The shortest of the three said. "I thought you put him down when he hit the fridge." He lifted Eddie's chin, glaring into his eyes. "How's about a kiss, faggy boy. I likes faggots." Eddie blinked, then spit in the cowboy's face, earning him a backhand across the face.

The big cowboy dragged Tyler over and dropped him near Eddie, standing over them both. "You know, he rumbled, "I think that we can teach a whole lot of faggots a lesson here tonight." He hauled his boot back and kicked Tyler in the back, causing him to scream through his nose.

"I think I'm gonna fuck me a faggot, boys, and I think you should too." He lifted Eddie and threw him on his stomach over a big log, then threw Tyler next to him. Tyler tasted blood in his mouth, and was losing the fight against unconsciousness. He could make out the terror in Eddie's eyes, but couldn't put together what was happening any more.

"Undo his ankles and hold `im, boys." The big cowboy took off his duster coat and threw it on the truck, them stepped behind Eddie. At the sound of his zipper going down, Eddie began to thrash, and the cowboys laughed and whooped, swinging their hats.

"This is for the year in jail. You tell Broederick I want him." The big cowboy grumbled, then jerked Eddie's ass open and thrust forward. Eddie screamed, arching up and being shoved back down. The cowboy was enormous, and flesh parted as he raped Eddie, causing blood to flow onto the ground. They all took turns, repeatedly destroying him.

After several hours, well into the next day, Eddie regained consciousness to see the cowboy's eyes staring into him. "I know who you are, Durrant, and I wanted you to know something." He held up a short piece of rope, twisting it around his fingers. "Your brother didn't hang himself, pussy. He had help. You can thank Cammus for that."

Daniel and JD pulled up in Art's truck, a little pissed because they hadn't been met, and wondering where the hell Tyler was. It was almost five in the evening, and JD noticed as the truck stopped that the door was wide open. He touched Daniel's arm and waved to stop the truck.

Quietly, the got out and moved towards the house, JD waving Daniel to the back door. Daniel circled around, and was shocked to find the glass door open as well. He crept in to the family room, stopping to pull a book off the shelf that opened to reveal a colt .45 auto.

Armed, he moved slowly into the kitchen. Shattered glass littered the floor, and the door on the fridge was dented in. A cold sweat broke out and rolled down Daniel's back. He went into the hall and found the broken pieces of the stair railing hanging like jagged teeth. JD stood in the middle of the living room holding a note. His face was pale.

Faggots

If I see one cop I'll kill both.

The old abandoned mill.

Better move it.

"Now what do we do?" JD whispered, gesturing at he mess. Daniel sat on the steps and thought furiously. Only one person would do this, and he had thought that one person had learned his lesson. If they called the police, and the cowboy was good to his word, they died.

They got in the truck and headed for the old mill, a popular place for keg parties and making out, buried deep in the foothills. Just before they got out of range, JD phoned the police, giving them about a half an hour lead before the cops showed up.

"What is his obsession with us, Danny. I don't get it?" JD asked, looking out into the passing trees. He was sick to his stomach with worry, and he kept getting chills down his spine.

"We made him look bad twice." Daniel answered, realizing how stupid that sound, how dramatic. They were not dealing with a sane person, he knew that, but how insane the person was, that was the question.

They parked about a half-mile from the old mill and got out, neither saying a word. JD pointed up at a small ridge that circled the mill and took off at a trot, intending to come from behind. Daniel made his way quietly into the woods and down into a little revine that ran back up to the mill.

He had jammed the .45 into the back of his pants, feeling it dig into his skin every time he had to climb over something. As he neared the mill, he could hear voices, and he ducked down behind a boulder, watching two of the three cowboys he remembered stand around a fire and talk.

There was no sign of the big cowboy, Andy Peterson, and Daniel carefully scanned the area, trying to see where he'd gone. The short cowboy went over to a blanket and pulled up. There was Tyler and Eddie, bound and gagged. He pulled Tyler towards the blanket and fumbled with his fly, making his intentions pretty clear. Tyler's eyes were wide with fear, and he shook his head violently.

Daniel spotted JD. He was concealed in some scrub brush up and left of the boys on the blanket. He caught Daniel's eye, motioning like a gun at the cowboy nearest Tyler, then acting like he'd jump on the other. Daniel nodded and pulled the pistol, sighting at the target JD wanted.

He pulled the trigger, and the gun barked. The cowboy grabbed his left side and went down, a look of pain and surprise on his face. JD nailed the other cowboy in the head with a large rock, putting him on his knees. He grabbed a roll of duct tape that was lying on a log and quickly taped up the one he'd just hit, then the other.

Daniel trotted up, keeping an eye on the trees, then stopped at the cowboy he'd just shot. It was Darren Ramsay, the same asshole that'd been there with Peterson the night JD got knifed. Ramsay was in pain, but was un-likely to die soon. JD ran over and knelt by Tyler, undoing the tape on his mouth.

"I'm going to find Peterson, or he'll sneak in and get us all." Daniel said, touching JD on the shoulder. JD nodded, and Daniel took of into the trees again.

Tyler had a massive black eye, and several cuts and bruises from head to toe. He was naked, and his testicles seemed swollen. A huge purple bruise ran from his armpit to his hip. JD winced as he tugged the tape off, freeing Tyler.

"Check Eddie!" Tyler whispered harshly. "He hasn't moved in hours!" JD took a little pocket knife out of his pocket and slit Tyler's hands and ankles free, then pulled off his shirt and threw it to the kid. "Put that on, Ty." He commanded, then turned to work on Eddie.

"Oh, shit." He mumbled, finding blood everywhere. Eddie's nose was obviously broken, and one eye was bruised and lacerated. Blood leaked from under the tape on his mouth. JD carefully removed the tape, releasing more fresh blood. He turned the kid over to slit the tape, and found dried blood all the way up his back and down his legs. It was pretty clear what had happened. He checked for a pulse and couldn't find one, and Eddie's eyes were half-open with the eyelids stuck to the eyes. They were too late.

"Is he okay?" Tyler asked, moving up behind JD. JD lay Eddie down gently, then pulled the blanket over him, covering his head. "What are you doing, JD?" Tyler demanded, trying to get past him. JD stood up and hugged Tyler to him, not knowing what to say. Tyler looked into JD's eyes, then down at the covered body and back.

"No." Tyler pleaded. "No, come on, JD, please." He tried to break free, but JD held him tight. "Oh, God, please no!" A puff of dirt erupted at their feet followed by a gun shot in the distance. JD grabbed Tyler and fell on him behind the log, giving them some cover.

Daniel heard the shot, up hill and to the left, and pulled his pistol out. He crept up the hill, circling a crop of rocks. It had to be where Peterson was, because there was nowhere else to hide. Leaves and rocks broke free under his feet, and he skidded down several feet sending rocks and debris rolling down the hill. He scrambled to keep the rocks between them.

Another rifle shot went off, and a chunk of the log JD and Tyler hid behind disappeared. Daniel saw the flash that time and was able to move more quietly sideways towards the cropping. He tucked the .45 in his waistband and moved up on the rocks, trying to control his breathing and keep quiet.

He inched forward, finding every foothold, until he could finally see the cowboy below him. He was amazed that he had remained undetected, but watching Peterson weave, it was apparent that he was drunk. Daniel watched him wipe his sleeve across his face and spit into the dirt. There was a slide of small rocks right below them, and the cowboy sat on a small ledge under a huge boulder about fifteen feet below.

Daniel looked down and was surprised to meet JD's eyes. He pointed at himself, then at the cowboy, then pointed at JD and made a motion to the truck. JD nodded, understanding. Daniel to a deep breath, let it out quietly, then jumped, landing right in front of Peterson and his rifle.

He landed badly, and his right ankle flared in pain. He grabbed the rifle and yanked, pulling it away and falling backward onto the rock slide. The rifle flew out of his hands and landed below him, and he had a split second to see shock on Peterson's face before he rolled into a small avalanche halfway down the slide.

Daniel came to rest looking up, and saw the cowboy jump down, fury replacing the shock on his face. Using his boots like skis, he slid his way down towards Daniel, bracing him self with his hands. Daniel reached for the pistol, but it was kicked away, and he scrambled sideways to get away.

"You're just makin' this harder, Faggot!" Peterson leered, making his way through the rocks. Daniel saw the rifle and slid down to it, catching the barrel with his fingertips, then losing it as he continued to slide. To his right, he saw the pistol. He stopped himself and scrambled like a crab for the gun.

He turned to see Peterson grab the rifle and lift it to his shoulder. He looked into the cowboy's eyes and saw not hatred, but pain. The pain disappeared, and the rage returned. The barrel came up, and Daniel felt his heart leap into his throat. He knew he would die, and he could only think about JD and Tyler making it away.

The shot came, a deep roar, and Daniel jumped. Nothing happened. Frantically he looked up, and saw the cowboy topple, rolling onto the rockslide and dropping the rifle. He whipped his head around and saw a uniform down by the log where JD had been. The Sheriff's Deputy held a pistol at arms length, pointed at the still rolling Peterson.

Daniel let out a ragged sigh and put his head on his arms. He was nauseated, and cold sweat trickled down his back even in the evening heat. His legs were scratched to hell from wearing shorts, and his arms were scratched as well. He looked up to see an ambulance pulling up by Peterson's truck. A Deputy's car was parked near it also.

Rocks rattled together, and JD slumped down next to him, winded. He wrapped his arms around Daniel and said nothing, breathing hard. Daniel touched his arm, then put his head back down. He was tired, really tired.

The following day, Daniel laid on the couch, his ankle propped on the arm, with Tyler laying curled up in his lap. Daniel wore only a pair of silk boxers, and several bandages covered his arms and one leg. Tyler's ribs were taped, and he had his right arm in a sling for a dislocated shoulder. He wore a big baggy tank top that belonged to Daniel, and a pair of JD's bikini briefs. Neither had commented at his choice of clothing. He slept while Daniel watched National Geographic.

JD went to the door. Brian Kellogg, Deputy and class mate, as well as former member of the social club stood at the porch. Brian had flirted with a boyfriend in high school, but had ultimately married his covergirl and had two kids. JD remembered liking the guy.

"Hey, JD." He said, shaking hands and walking in, looking at the half cleaned up mess. The staircase was still broken, and the messed up furniture had been taken out, but the glass and such was gone due to JD's efforts.

"What's shaking, Brian? Wanna coke?" JD led the way to the kitchen, offering a chair. "What brings the long arm of the law to our humble house?" He set a coke and a glass of ice on the table, then poured his own.

"I just got back from Peterson's place. The guy was psycho." He poured the coke and drank. "Did you know he was in love with Dane?" At JD's disbelief, Brian continued. "No shit, JD. The walls of one of the bedrooms in his apartment was covered with pictures of Dane and Daniel."

"Daniel?" JD blurted.

"Think about this, JD. It makes sense. He hated gays because he was gay, but could never come out for whatever reasons. He sees Dane as the perfect guy, You and Daniel show up and ruin whatever chance he thought he had, so he tries to kill you." Brian drank again, then set the glass down.

"Anyway, Daniel beats him. For whatever reason, this turns Peterson on, and he kills Dane and falls in love with Daniel. There are over three hundred pictures in this apartment, and a bunch cut out of the ads you guys have done. Some are amateur nudes that he had to have taken himself in the locker room at school, hiding in the vent shafts."

"I can't believe this." Daniel limped in and sat down, shaking Brian's hand. "You mean to tell me that the ultimate fag basher was gay all along?"

Brian nodded and set his glass down. "Daniel, there's naked pictures of you going back to when you were about thirteen." He got a funny look on his face, embarrassed. "A lot of them have semen stains on them."

"Holy shit." JD mumbled. "I think I just stepped out of reality for a minute. That's fucking nuts."

"I told you, he was crazy." Brian finished the coke and stood up. "Any way, guys, I never told you anything. I just thought you had the right to know." Daniel followed them to the door, seeing Brian out, then took JD in his arms when the door closed. He felt cold inside, violated. Maybe it would have been better to not know why things had happened.

That night Tyler woke up screaming. JD raced up to his room to find him sitting up screaming at a shadow. He hugged him tight and let the boy sob on his chest. He brought Tyler back to their bed, letting him crawl in between them.

Tyler became very quiet, hardly speaking. He rarely smiled and never laughed. JD suggested that he might go see his mother, which had the opposite of the desired effect. Tyler didn't want to see her, and Daniel couldn't find her to let her know what had happened anyway.

They stood at Eddie's funeral, all three in new suits that they would likely never wear again. Tyler cried silently, but stood tall. No one had known about he and Eddie except Stacey, Daniel, and JD, and he didn't want to add to the family's pain. JD was impressed with his character.

Two weeks later, JD and Tyler headed for Denver. Daniel had opted out of his shoot, and stayed behind to work with Rick Kirkland on several Christmas shoots. They took the Explorer and headed through Idaho, stopping for the night in Twin Falls, then the next in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The early afternoon of the third day, The tall buildings in downtown Denver could be seen.

The agency JD was shooting for had put them up at a little Hotel called the Colonial. It was classy, and had a pool, which they were in ten minutes after they checked in. It was supremely hot. They ate at the hotel restaurant, amused as one of the patrons, a seemingly wealthy older woman, fed her poodle scraps.

With nothing to do until tomorrow, the hit the mall. Tyler still seemed distant, hardly talking over the last three days, and JD hoped a little shopping would lighten the mood. They tried on clothes bought some shirts for Daniel, and ate carmelcorn. They were on their way to the truck when Tyler stopped at the window of a pet shop.

A single kitten played in shredded paper, tousling with a fuzzy ball. It was a long haired Siamese, and JD looked at Tyler to find a wistful smile on his face. JD's heart lifted. Tyler laughed a little watching the cat play. They went inside, and Tyler put his hand in the pen to touch it.

The kitten sniffed Tyler's fingers, then clawed it's way up his arm, causing him to laugh in surprise. IT reached his shoulder and attached to the fabric of his shirt, settling in. Tyler laughed again and rubbed its nose. JD shook his head, then turned to the cashier.

They made it back to the hotel with a travel case, litter box, food and water dish, and assorted toys. Tyler sat on his bed in his underwear, moving his hand under the covers and giggling as the cat chased it, tiny little tail held high. After a little while, they curled up together, the cat on one pillow and Tyler on the other, and JD watched them sleep, satisfied that things might be okay after all.

This story continues, but I'm taking a break from it. Check out The truth about Caymen to see what I've been doing. Dan
