Memorial

With great sadness, I dedicate this portion of Dukes of Windsor to the memory of my best friend and life long love who passed away on December 19, 2005. He was the inspiration and guiding hand for my story and for a major part of my life.

Requiescat in Pace, Jack.

Chapter 12

Greg, Will and Doug lounged around their farmhouse living room, talking on many subjects, mostly about getting Doug a `man'. They laughed a lot, especially trying out ideas that usually turned out to be physically impossible or unmanageable.

Doug mentioned that he knew guys at the University of Toledo, but hadn't met anyone who had that special blip appear on his gaydar screen. "I've been trying, guys, but all my sex buddies from high school have disappeared, either going away to college or moved out of town. A couple have even gotten married. Believe that?" He was astonished that his young friends would get themselves stuck with a bitch so early in life. "Whew!" He figuratively wiped his brow.

"Doug, have you ever thought about transferring to Windsor? You would get as good or better education as at Toledo." Greg searched Doug's eyes, trying to stare down into their depths to connect to his reasoning, his personal motivation. "I assume that money is no object? Right?"

Doug smiled slyly, reaching into Greg's eyes, "Gee, Greg, then I would have to pay for a room and board. Money isn't a problem, no, there is enough, but I don't know how my parents would feel if I transferred." He was trying to deal with his love for Will, if Will were free, he'd jump schools in a second. But....? Suddenly a vision of Alden Johns appeared to him, including the large penis he exhibited, attracting Doug.

"Would you think about it?, we can give you a good deal and you could stay with us here. How about it?"

Doug's eyes widened, thinking `live with Will?'. "Don't know if I could live here, Greg, being with Will all the time would not be easy for me." He smiled wryly, "I don't know if I could take that." He looked at Will, "I don't know how good my will power would be, to stay away." He was willing to say he'd think about it, check with his parents.

Greg and Will had been lying on the couch, sort of half playing around when Will noticed that Doug was aroused and big. His shorts couldn't hide it, nor even could the pillow Doug grasped in panic of showing every bit of his gear. When Doug went to get himself a soda in the kitchen, he worked to put it in a less conspicuous spot. At that time Will explained to Greg what Doug's problem was, and suggested they cool it with the sexy moves.

So Greg suggested they walk around their acres, partly to see where they could build an outdoor swimming pool. An indoor pool like the Ridgways have would be very expensive. Since any of them were free to use that indoor pool, it would save a lot of money if they built an outdoor one.

When Doug absolutely had to leave, the two Goodings wish him a safe and careful trip, reminding him he was to be back with them in two weeks. Hugs and kisses abounded all around his car, bidding him to be safe at all times. Greg's wish was the most serious, to take care of himself now that he was recovering from a number of problems. Will reiterated that he forgave Doug and loved him, `so stay healthy'.

Doug drove carefully toward Toledo, but fueled with his thoughts about Alden. `I wonder.'

Greg and Will were hoping to head for bed and some wonderful loving that they had missed while Doug was in their home. They turned off all phones and all electronic sources of information and news until later.

About 2 hours later they heard a heavy pounding on the front door. Greg dressed quickly since he had both legs already on and headed for the front of the house. Since the day was Sunday, they hadn't expected anyone to visit or bother them.

As Greg neared the door, that had an tall oval window in the center, revealed to him Hardy and Matt Ridgway whom he admitted to their home.

"Hi guys, Will is dressing upstairs." He blushed then, he knew they were thinking, what are they getting dressed in the middle of the afternoon'. Hardy and Matt had noticed that Greg was not very well put together in his clothes. He started laughing, self-consciously, and while the two men were settling in some comfortable chairs, he confessed. "Guys, I confess that Will and I were having some afternoon delight', but it's okay, we had enjoyed ourselves and were finished."

Hardy laughed with him, "We were just a little ahead of you, right after the party." He continued, "For some reason, the place was empty except for us. We started in the Jacuzzi and graduated to the bed. After that was pure joy."

Will had carefully come down the stairs, "Hey, did you guys hear we are getting a Jacuzzi soon? Can't wait to get it. I was the one who pushed it, but neither of us had ever been in one, so the other day, we were at Hamish and the boys' house and they let us try theirs. Installation will be next week. We'll lose one spare bedroom, but I'm sure we'll enjoy it enough."

Matt answered, "We know you'll both love it. Might be a good way, Will, to rest and get a little rehab for your leg. Huh?"

"Yeah," Will followed, "We don't have a tub and to be in the shower, Greg has to be with me, you see, we're both naked in the shower, and that can lead to sin and degradation." He laughed, blushing for being so out spoken. However, he knew Matt and Hardy would always be agreeable with his silliness.

The rest laughed with him, and then Greg asked if Matt would like to hear Will's trumpet playing. He didn't think Matt had heard him before.

"Yes, I sure would," Matt answered, "Hardy is so high on his playing, I must hear him."

Greg turned to Will, "How about warming up a bit and I'll show our friends around our house?"

"Sure, Greg, it will only take about 5 minutes." Will was anxious to play in front of Matt, he was sure they would help on the way to his career, so got upstairs as quickly as he could. One of the unused bedrooms had been turned into Will's studio and practice room. They had sound proofed the windows somewhat, but weren't sure just how far the sound would reach.

All the men were in the practice room, sitting on the older couch Will had in there, along with his music stand and casual chairs. Will's desk was also against the north wall where he studied and where his computer was located.

Will described what he would be playing and would introduce each piece. He began slowly, but soon worked up to the most difficult pieces.

Hardy spoke up between a piece, "Will, do you have the arrangement of West Side Story that Joshua Bell uses for his recitals?"

Will turned to look at Hardy, and grinned, "I have it and worked on it, but don't have it memorized. I'd be glad to play what I've learned. "

Before Hardy could answer, a thunderous battering came from the back door of their house. Will looked out his window to spot Dexter and Junior on their back stoop.

"Greg, would you go let Dexter and Junior in the back door. Bring them up here, obviously they could hear me playing. I'd like to show them what I can do." He faced Hardy, "These guys won't tell, Hardy, they are good guys and if I tell them to keep quiet, they will."

"Well, if you say so, Will, go ahead." Hardy wasn't sure, but trusted Will.

"Thanks, these are the two gymnastic students I've been working with."

Will yelled at the boys when he saw them at the bottom of the stairs. Greg led them up to the bedroom, introduced them and gave them chairs.

"Dex and Junior, I was hoping no one would hear my practicing here in this room, but obviously you could hear me fine." He raised his eyebrows, waiting for their reply.

"We could hear you, Will, but there are no other houses near enough to hear. Our house is about 150 yards from here. We noticed especially because we wanted to come over to hear you better. I'm sorry if we butted in on your practice."

"I'm just playing for Matt, the head of the music department, and for Hardy, the director of the Dukes of Windsor. Matt hadn't heard me before, but guys, I'm not supposed to be as good as I am, so you must not talk about what you've heard. Okay?"

The two young men understood and promised they wouldn't say anything to anybody.

When Will finished playing, he was surrounded by the boys and Matt, squeezing to get near him, sending wondrous remarks to Will about his playing. Will could never understand his stupendous luck, meeting Greg, coming to Windsor and the college, and learning of his fine abilities on the trumpet.

"Will, I agree with Hardy, you are the finest trumpet performer I've heard in many, many years." He grabbed Will in his arms, "Will, you are going for a long, long ride at the top of the heap. I'm so pleased for you. Did you talk to your old teacher? Can he work with you?"

With difficulty because of the lump in his throat, Will said yes and he can. "He liked the idea of an adjunct instructor with the college. He also said to tell you and Hardy how wonderful the Dukes are. He heard them at our high school last year. He was startled and amazed at their poise and abilities in the whole routine."

"Okay, Will, I'll work out something with the Dean so we can pay him. You realize neither Hardy nor I are able to teach you, you are too far advanced for us. Anyway, I'm just an old `bone jockey', don't get a chance to play for myself."

"Will, we'll make sure you are well taken care of musically, and want you to know we love you and Greg," he nodded to Greg, "and are very proud of being your friends."

Dex and Junior made sure to hug Will, pressing on his body where the others couldn't see. Dex managed to squeeze his dick while Junior had a finger working its way up his butt.

In the Administration Building of Windsor College, a handsome brick three story building, trimmed in white, colonial style, a small gathering was taking place. The building held offices of the college administration and student records, Deans and department chairmen. The most beautiful room in the building was furnished with walnut paneling, crown moldings, thick carpeting and a 20 foot long table and 20 chairs of polished mahogany with upholstered seats, more comfortable on the various bottoms.

On the Monday morning after Doug's visit to Greg and Will, that room was filled. The trustees of the College had been scheduled for their monthly meeting and were sitting around the long table with pencils, tablets and the agenda for the session. At each seat they found a cup, carafe of coffee and sweet rolls in the center that would be passed around for their enjoyment.

Most of the trustees, men and women, were prominent members of the community; business owners or CEOs, highly placed educators, presidents of powerful groups such as Rotary, Kiwanis and doctors along with influential members of city society. There were 20 members of the board including Glenn Landsdown of Windsor. Glenn knew almost all of them personally and well. Two of the men were not people he knew personally. In fact he wondered how they had attained their presidency in the two local unions located in the city. They could reasonably have objections to a gay President of the College.

Glenn Landsdown, banker and president of the Board of Trustees spoke first.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the Board welcome to our meeting today. We have some very important issues to solve today and some decisions that will no doubt try our patience."

The session continued for 2 hours before the primary reason for the meeting was put on the table. Some of the members were becoming irritated at the length of the talking, but if they tried to leave Glenn would make them chairmen of a difficult committee without their knowledge. "At this point," Landsdown began, "as you most likely know, President Bishop has been arrested for murder of a young instructor in our college. It is my prerogative to decide we must find a new president immediately. Our search will be short, sweet and easily finalized if you will follow my reasoning.

"The new president, I feel, must be youngish, well-educated, talented and a truly cultured person. Recently we have had a succession of `old fogies'. We need a change from the old ways of leading this college.

"I would like to describe my choice. This young man, 29 years old, awarded with his PhD by Ohio State five years ago, is an extremely talented musician with ties to study, performance, education and production of performance groups. This man is totally regarded by the students and his colleagues as an intelligent man, caring, helpful and a friend. He is a superb organizer, coordinated, but keeps himself out of the limelight. This man's name is Dr. Matthew B. Ridgway of Columbus, Ohio originally. The board has earlier heard the name of Matthew Ridgway, as he was announcing Director of the Department of Music at Windsor College. This man is one of our own, one of our instructional and administration staff.

"Now, does anyone have a negative remark about this man?"

A shout from two men at the lower quarter of the table. "Dr. Ridgway is a queer, he's a homo."

Glenn Landsdown nodded his head, "Yes he is gay. However, I'm not gay and I've spent many hours talking with him and his associates. Matt's partner is Hardy Wolfe, Director of the College bands, including the Dukes and Duchess of Windsor. With Dr. Ridgway he has taken the Dukes to play at the White House for the President, and to England to play for Queen Elizabeth, II and other royals. They are well-known in college circles in Ohio and other states, and especially in the field of music education in this country.

"I feel this man will bring honor and glory to our college, students and staff. He is dedicated to his job and his family." Glenn put a look of seriousness on his face, "I will ask you now, to approve the selection of Dr. Matthew Ridgway to be chosen as the new President of Windsor College, Windsor, Ohio."

"If there is any dissension still, please speak now." The two men who brought his gay orientation, looked at each other, then shook their heads.

"In that case, a show of hands now for those approving of this decision. Please raise your hands." He saw that the vote was almost unanimous, he beamed in his victory.

President of the Board Glenn Landsdown had spoken to each member of the board in the past week, and was certain of success in his endeavor. He was so impressed with Matt and all his family and decided that he would be the best man to be their president.

Glenn counted the hands raised, reaching 18, a fine percentage of the 20 member board.

"Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, you have performed a magnificent determination for the man who will lead this college into the new millenium. I will visit Dr Ridgway this evening to tell him of our decision that he will be the next President of our college. You people are not making a mistake as you will see this year and those following. I will tell you that one of his aims is to have Windsor College be up raised to Windsor University.

"This session of the Board of Trustees of Windsor College is adjourned."

Almost all of the members rose from their chairs pleased on the vote by giving their approval of Matt Ridgway. A couple of the men remained in their seats. They had been outvoted.

Glenn made sure that the secretary had recorded the motion and the vote to certify Matt's election as president and shook everyone's hand before they left.

Glenn was immensely pleased with himself and proud of the Board of Trustees. He knew he might have had a serious fight on his hands, if the two union presidents had tried to block the election. He thought maybe gays were better regarded those days.

Hardy sat in the living room, reading the daily paper of Windsor as he did almost every day. He always wanted to be aware of the latest news that affected the college, and that affected the students themselves.

The family had finished dinner earlier, then having disappeared somewhere in the house, or were studying at the library or any of the college buildings. He felt a little lonely because Matt was over at Hamish's house, talking to him and the boys, Moose and Mike, about President Bishop of the college, whether they had seen him with the instructor who had been killed. But no luck.

Hardy heard the front door bell chimes ring out the Westminster theme. He slowly rose to his feet, pushed his erection down into his bikini to hide it. He'd been reminiscing on Matt's last making love to him.

As he opened the door, Glenn Landsdown was standing on their porch.

"Hi, Glenn, come on in. Are you bringing some money around, you know, personal delivery?" He grinned to show he was kidding.

"Hi, Hardy, no, no money, I'm afraid. I must admit I've heard that you have quite a lot yourself." He slid off his overcoat, the days have been dipping into the 30s recently. "Is Matt here, I have a message for him. Some news." He tried to be calm, but was jumping inside.

"Sorry, Glenn, he's over at the Dean's house right now, if you want to go there?"

"No, Hardy, I need him here. If you would call and just say I'm here and wanted to talk to him." He didn't want to tell Matt about his election over the phone.

Hardy reached for the cell phone and called Matt's. Matt would be home in a few minutes.

"So, Glenn, what's the big news? Can you give me a little hint? I'm his husband, you know."

"If you promise not to tell him before I get to, I can say your husband is now the President of Windsor College. Now don't tell him until I get a chance."

Hardy was stunned, but promised Glenn. "You mean the Board of Trustees voted?"

Glenn nodded his head to show agreement.

"Wow. That must mean I will be the First husband, right?"

Glenn laughed with Hardy. "I don't think it works that way."

Hardy and Glenn conversed quietly, thinking of what changes that would bring to the College, to Matt's family and to his reputation and professional standing.

"I'd be willing to bet that he would be the first college president whose major was music." Hardy was still stunned, unable to take in the situation, his husband would be president." This should set a precedent in the annals of college leaders." But he smiled, realizing how proud he was of Matt and of being his partner. He stood quickly, "Glenn, I'll get us some coffee." He turned rapidly to avoid having Glenn see him dropping tears down his cheeks like a silly kid.

Hardy washed his face, got two cups of coffee that he took to the living room.

As he walked in, he saw Todd and Roger, roomers and close friends, sitting with Mr. Landsdown talking about Matt's election to the presidency of the college.

"Men, where did you ever hear that?"

"Mr. Landsdown, the story is all over the city, and Jerry is putting it in this afternoon's paper. Didn't you know? We saw Max in class and he told us." Todd looked at the older man, "You didn't expect to keep it a secret, did you?"

"Who's Max?"

Todd answered, "He's the partner of the paper's editor, since a couple of weeks ago."

Glenn actually gulped, trying to absorb that new information.

Todd held up his hand, "Please, don't repeat that, I shouldn't have told you, but most every student knows they are a couple." He grinned, nodded his head, "They are the cutest pair. They deserve each other." Todd grabbed Roger's hand, "Aren't they?"

"Well, pretty cute, but not as cute as you and me, we're the peak of `cute'." Then they both giggled and hugged the other.

Hardy broke into the festivities, "Guys, we are waiting for Matt to come home so we can tell him."

That same moment Matt rushed into the living room, having driven his van from Hamish's home in only 10 minutes.

"Hey, guys, what's up? What am I missing?" Matt whomped into the sofa, sitting with a full stretch of his height, then looked around. "Well, is someone going to tell me?"

No one spoke until Glenn cleared his throat, then spoke.

"Matt, we had a meeting of the Board of Trustees this morning to fill the vacancy of the office of President of Windsor College." He kept a severe, solemn appearance on his countenance, trying not to give anything away. "We had a long meeting with many issues to be discussed, but got to the presidency toward the end."

Glenn checked his notes, cleared his throat again and finally blurted out his message. "Dr Matthew Bunker Ridgway, you have been elected to the position of President of Windsor College, to begin on the first of January, 2006. And I wish you well, you know we are proud of you and frankly expect much from you in leadership, innovation and justice. God Bless You."

The formal statement had stunned Todd, Roger and Hardy actually, and Matt, if the truth be known. . After the God Bless You part, they leaped to their feet and hollered for Matt, each of them hugging him as tightly as they could.

Hardy got in first, "Oh, love, I am so proud of you," he eyed Matt, winking at his lover with the most pride and passion as he could manage, "Dearest Heart, you will be the best man in the job, you love education, have a wonderful passion for music and performance. You will be the best individual for this college, maybe ever, and university in the future."

Todd and Roger were anxious to deliver their appreciation for their friend, for the next president of this time-honored and grand school of higher learning. Matt was hugged, kissed, congratulated by his close friends and loved ones. He knew that Todd and Roger adored him, and he adored them. They were the finest of young men, his graduate students then.

Finally, Matt broke through their emotions and excitement to ask Glenn Landsdown some questions.

"Glenn, first, is this for sure, I have no recourse?"

"Matt, you can always resign, but the school needs you, your are important to our future expansion projects, we need you." Glenn felt this in his heart, hoping for the best.

"Matt, Matt, please don't resign," Todd begged him, "we need you more than any other person connected to the College. You can help the Music Department, too. Please!!" Todd was practically on his knees, pleading with him. "Just think, you get a raise," he turned to Glenn, "He does, doesn't he?"

Solemnly, Glenn told him, "Your salary will be $200,000 per annum. Okay?"

"Are you kidding, Glenn, two hundred big ones? Is that right?"

Glenn stood, put himself immediately in front of Matt, "My friend, that's on my honor, you will receive that much. The president's salary comes from a special endowment fund just for that purpose that is as safe as Fort Knox." To Matt's surprise, Glenn enfolded him in his arms to give a large hug,

"Say, Glenn, what was the vote? If I am allowed to know." He wondered if there were a division of the trustees.

"Unanimous, Mr. President."

"Are you sure, Glenn, all yea votes?" Matt was questioning Glenn, not able to believe it.

"All right, Matt, there were two members who abstained."

Matt thought, `Aha, now were coming around to the facts.'

"Okay, Matt, the Board of Trustees has two members, presidents of the two unions in Windsor, who did make a remark, but didn't vote. Their exact words were, `But he's a fag.' That was two people out of twenty." He felt impelled to continue, "They didn't say anything else, but the vote is solid, well recorded and legal as hell."

"Don't you think we might get repercussions from those guys, and rank and file, maybe."

Glenn put his arm around Matt's shoulders, "I doubt it, Matt, but we'll deal with whatever comes of it."

Matt turned to Glenn, "I'll tell you one thing, Glenn, I won't live in the Castle."

"I wouldn't either, Matt."

Todd and Roger were buzzing around Matt, "Come on, Matt, we want to be the first two to shake your hand as Mr. President. Please." Todd was begging him again.

Matt grabbed both the boys and whacked their bottoms. "There, you've had my hands on your buns, no one else will get that privilege. Okay?"

The young men reached behind them, rubbing their cheeks as if in pain, "Geez, Doctor Ridgway, I think you busted our butts." They giggled and felt each other's butts, "We suppose we'll survive, but really we just wanted to shake your hand." They smiled lovingly to him.

Matt turned to them, giving each a serious, sedate handshake, but immediately, he whacked them again, this time on the other cheek. "Is that good enough, boys" He also grabbed them by their waists to give them a hug and a kiss.

Not five minutes later, after Glenn had left, pounding resumed on the front door, threatening to break it down, but before Matt could get there, Hamish, Mike and Moose crashed through the doorway, surrounded Matt to alert him that he would be the next president of Windsor College.

Matt help up his hands, trying to quiet them, "Guys, guys, slow down, I already know!"

"How?"

"Well, for one thing the evening paper will have the story, and Glenn Landsdown came here to tell me all about it." He smiled, "Sorry, guys, but I'm glad you are eager to help. I'll be talking to you soon. So ... come in and have some drinks, tell me all about it."

Hamish was moved to give Matt a heartfelt hug, knowing that his selection for the music department was moving into upper echelons of the college. He was also thrilled in his heart that he'd had the good sense to hire Matt back them.

Into Matt's ear he whispered, "Matty, I am so proud of you and your wonderful success in the Music Department. I'm now looking forward to more wonderful achievements from you."

"Thanks, Hamish, I can only thank you for hiring me in the beginning. You have had a great part in my success. I love you. Keep close."

They adjourned to the kitchen table and finished all the pop and snacks. Matt was thinking of another trip to the store for supplies. But Matt would have it no other way, these were his `people' and loved ones, just a few of the many.

Two men walked on Main Street near the center of Windsor heading for a place that would allow them to talk quietly in private. As they turned onto a side road, their destination appeared quickly on the right of the narrow street, a dirty, garbage-strewn short road.

The two men, dressed in suits, dress shirts and ties, not the usual attire of the patrons at their planned goal, entered Clancy's Bar. Jimmy Moscowitz and Eddie Svetlak were looking for a drink to get the taste of the Trustees meeting out of their mouths. They had abstained from voting, that action they felt was the only move they could make.

Eddie had very dark hair to his shoulders, straight. He was heavy, a big man but lots of extra weight here and there. His suit didn't fit, he'd put on weight since he bought it. Obviously, he rarely wore that suit and probably didn't have another one. He was not good looking, his face showed his personality, hard and unforgiving.

Jimmy on the other hand was fit, wide shoulders but narrow waist. His blond hair was short, much shorter than Eddie's hair. His suit fit him and looked like it was made for him. He wore it with a good posture, and pride, pleased with himself.

Having the bartender pull them two drafts apiece, they found a darker booth in the back corner. They seemed to move stiffly in their rarely worn clothes, mostly irritated by the tight collar and the tie that seemed like a noose around their necks.

"Jimmy, I can't believe they've made a fag the president of the College. I just can't."

"Yes, I know what you are saying," Jimmy answered. But he wasn't sure it was so bad.

"Do you think we ought get somebody to `whack' him? That wouldn't be hard to do, I know a couple guys who would love to do it." That sounded like a plan that Eddie would think of to solve the problem.

"Eddie," Jimmy started, "I don't know if I should tell you. I hope you'd keep it a secret."

"Okay, pal, I won't repeat it if you don't want me to." Eddie had no idea what secret Jimmy would know.

"Please don't, man. You know my younger brother, Al?" Jimmy was shaking, hoping Eddie wouldn't get in a fit.

"You mean your brother who plays for the Detroit Lions, is that the one?"

"Yes, my brother, Al, is gay. He has a partner, Jarred, and they live in Detroit. The team thinks his boyfriend is his brother-in-law whose wife died a few years ago. Al is helping the guy out since he's broke, and so on. You know, Al won't last much longer on the Lions, he's getting too damn old." He smiled, "But he's got a lot of money, he'd never have to work again in his life. He's got a great manager." He emphasized the next part, "And I LOVE my brother."

Eddie looked at his draft, moving the glass around on the table. "I never would have thought Al could be a fag. Has he always been a dick-lover?"

"I think I need to tell you about gays. They are gay when they are born, it isn't something they decide to be later. So Al realized he was gay after he started into puberty. Nobody can turn a guy gay, he either is or he isn't. Think of it, Eddie, why would a guy want to be gay, it can be a horrible life with beatings, hatred and discrimination everywhere. Fortunately, he had all that athletic ability, and stayed celibate, never went with guys. At least that's what he's told me. He'd have a few dates with women in high school and in college, but no sex. That was until about ten years ago when he decided he wanted to be true to himself. He found his boyfriend, Jarred, here in Windsor at the county fair."

"Do I know the boyfriend, Jimmy?"

"I don't think so, Eddie, he was a farm boy in Defiance County, outside of Defiance, and hadn't actually been in Windsor all that much." He smiled, "They met when they bumped into each other at the County Fair, trying get food at the lambburger booth. They began talking and when his boyfriend found out Al was a Detroit Lion, he knew it was fast, they would be together."

Both men drained their drafts so waved two fingers toward the bartender, pointing to their empty glasses. "Eddie, I really believe they are in love, just like a man and his wife. They are so cute," Jimmy laughed, "the little pats and touching each other, nothing rude or crude. Sort of like high school kids in love, Al says he got a late start but he grins when he say he is making up for those years when he never had sex except with his right hand. Eddie, I think they are truly in love, so determined to be with each other. You know my brother is really handsome and tough, but Jarred is good looking, too, but only 5'9" and not huge. I tell you they make a beautiful couple. I feel so good when they are around."

"So, what do they do for sex? I can't see how two guys would have sex. Sounds so ugly and disgusting. I'd puke." Eddie didn't seem to be learning much, not an open mind in his head, most likely frozen in prejudice in high school

"Eddie, I don't know what they do. I've never asked either of them, and I don't think they would tell me. I would guess they'd suck, 69 and kiss, and of course mostly likely fuck."

Eddie exploded, "Fuck, how the hell do they fuck. They can't, can they?"

"Just think about it, Eddie, they can fuck, there's only one place they could put it. Think about it."

Eddie seemed to be thinking, moving his brain cells around. Finally he burst out, "Oh no, they don't put their dicks up their asses, do they?"

"Yup!"

"That's disgusting, revolting - aw shit, no. God damn it, that would make anyone puke."

Eddie ran to the men's room, holding his mouth and hurrying. Jimmy shook his head, slowly, hoping he made it to the toilet before he exploded. He was happy he didn't tell Eddie all of the possibilities they could do together. Jimmy had gotten on the Internet to learn all he could about homosexuality, he wanted to understand his brother. They loved each other.

After a few minutes Eddie returned to the booth. "I musta got some bad beer, Jimmy, I gotta go home, please take me, would ya?"

Jimmy did that, but wondered if Eddie would go off and do something stupid. He prayed not, hoping Eddie would settle down.

Two weeks later, Doug returned to Windsor and the Gooding house as he had promised.. Greg and Will learned that Doug and Alden had been calling, sending email all two weeks. In fact the previous weekend Alden had spent time in Toledo, with Doug. He didn't have any rehearsals for the Dukes of Windsor that weekend..

"So, what's happening, Doug, you guys hitting it up already?" Will wanted to know everything. "You've had dates, have you made a home run?" Eagerly he questioned Doug.

Doug blushed, "Come on, Will, we've only known each other a couple weeks. We're taking it easy, not rushing anything." He grinned, "But I sure do like the big guy. He's lots of fun and nice to talk to. We've been holding hands when we could, not in public or anything, tho."

Greg sat on the couch next to Doug, "Now, come, come Dougie, we need to know everything that has happened. And when are you transferring to Windsor?"

Doug blushed and grinned widely, "I will transfer at the beginning of second semester. That is, if Hardy can make the arrangements."

Will jumped up to grab hold of Doug, "I'm so pleased, Doug, we need you here. Can you live with us? We'd be happy to have you, right, Greg?" Greg entered the conversation.

"Doug, we would be pleased if you would live here." Greg had an idea. "We would also be happy to have Alden Johns, too. Would you like that? Do you think you two could manage in one of our bedrooms?"

Doug was stunned, never expecting that he and Alden could live with the Goodings.

Will hugged Doug again, holding tight and patting his cheeks, the ones down south. In fact Greg joined them in a three way hug.

Greg freed himself, "We can have dinner together, I've made spaghetti, plenty if you want to call Alden to come over. Huh?"

Immediately Doug flipped his cell phone open and within three minutes, he reported that Alden was on his way.

Will and Greg began making preparations in the kitchen for their guests. They also peeked into the living room when Alden arrived. He and Doug hugged and even kissed, both solidly into the other with hands all over.

The meal was most congenial with all four catching up on events of their lives. Doug said his parents were pleased he wanted to be at Windsor. Alden Johns freely spoke of his life and admitted he was `hooked' on Dougie. He even blushed saying the name, Dougie.

Doug and Alden were sitting side by side at the table, often leaning in toward the other, and, as Will noted, their hands drifted from side to side, caressing thighs and arms. The taller, heavier Alden favored Doug with his concern and affection.

Alden even agreed to stay overnight with Doug in `their' bedroom. That would be their first night sleeping together. Will quietly asked Doug if he would need any supplies that he and Greg could provide for them. Of course Will was thinking about condoms and lubrication, but Doug blushed deeply and said they had all they needed. In reality Doug and Alden hugged and caressed their buddy, and soon accomplished their goal with frottage against their abs.

Of course Will was eager to know what they had done, but had to wait until Alden had left for his own dorm room. With their touching and bumping when on their feet, Will could tell the night had been a wonderful one.

The article in the Windsor Gazette had been carefully planned by Jerry Fordham, the editor, to honor Matt for his response to the College. He had been quoted by the paper in good form to answer to his ascendancy as President of Windsor College. A fine portrait of him had taken most of the front page and was frequently referred to their handsome and `hot' president to be.

Matt was embarrassed by their words but couldn't help being proud and satisfied. His first move was to announce that Hardy Wolfe would be the new Head of the Music Department. He kept the position of Dukes and Duchess of Windsor director, actually until Roger had finished his graduate degree. All felt that Roger would be able to accomplish more with them.

When Matt took Roger aside to tell him that he would direct the Dukes after graduation, Roger couldn't believe it, he started crying, fiercely holding onto Matt who was supporting him.

"Roger, I'm positive you will be wonderful with the group, and will surpass everything Hardy and I had done." Roger was still sobbing minutes later when Matt sat on the couch with Roger on his lap. Todd tried to get Roger under control with no luck.

"Todd, would you take Roger up to your room, and you can have your way with him." He grinned at Todd who sparkled back. Matt lifted Roger up enough that Todd could hold him. Todd led Roger up the main stairway to their bed where he held his lover in his arms, soothing him, holding him with love and desire.

Matt had found out who the two union men at the Trustees meeting were and made arrangements to talk to them. Unfortunately only Jimmy would meet with Matt, Eddie refused to see him.

When Matt and Jimmy met at Clancy's Bar and Grill, they talked in the same booth where Jimmy and Eddie had their conversation.

"Dr. Ridgway, I'm pleased to be able to talk to you, I'm sorry that Eddie wouldn't meet with us. We met here right after the Trustees meeting, but he wouldn't listen. Just between you and me, I told him about my brother who is gay and is a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions. I explained how much I love my brother, but nothing got to him. He couldn't believe that a major league football player could be a homo, as he said."

"Jimmy, I'd be pleased if you would call me Matt, everyone does and it makes me feel more comfortable." Jimmy nodded. Matt went on, "My dad worked at a Ford plant in Columbus, on the line and loved it. The only way I could go to college was to work for it. My parents weren't able to afford much, so I worked a couple of jobs in the summers and managed to get through. Then I taught in a high school so I could afford my graduate degree.

"I hope you aren't too upset that I was elected to this job. One of my aims is to find scholarships for men and women who could do the work, but didn't have the funds."

"Dr ... ah, Matt, I have no problem with you, and I don't think anyone would have one either. I suppose there are some men like Eddie who don't understand anything about gays, but could be taught." He smiled warmly, "I love my brother, and now I've gotten to love his partner, too. They are both wonderful people. My brother would like to come back to Windsor with his lover and settle down. With his reputation in football he might be able to indoctrinate people with his character and attitude. Maybe he'll help."

Matt looked at Jimmy, recognizing the wonderful man inside, "I hope that could happen too, Jimmy. I would like to meet your brother soon."

"Matt, the season is almost over, especially for the Lions who aren't getting anywhere," he gave a sad look, "but when he comes home I'll call you and arrange for you to meet him.

"Say, Jimmy, do you look like your brother? Just in general I'd say you would do well on a football field."

Jimmy rummaged in his wallet, finally producing a small snap of his brother without the football gear.

"Wow, Jimmy, except for the age you guys look like twins, and very handsome twins. Did you tryout for football way back in high school?"

"Yes, I did, Matt. But I had a problem, no way could I move like my brother. I just didn't have that extra agility and lithesomeness that he does."

"I shouldn't tell you, but you are very hot. Tall and good looking with a body that won't quit. I don't mean to embarrass you, and I'm not coming on to you, but you should know that you would be any gay guy's dream man."

"Yes, Matt you are getting to me. My brother has told me the same thing. How I would be the hit of any gay party, but I'll confess all to you." He grinned abashedly. "My brother and I tried it on, back while I was working and he was a college star in football." Jimmy shook his head in a negatively fashion, "I tried, I honestly did, Matt, but I couldn't get into it with him."

"Maybe that was the problem, Jimmy, maybe because he was your brother and you're thinking incest, nothing would have worked. Have you thought of that?"

Jimmy held his head, hands on his cheeks, slowly nodding toward Matt. "Matt, I'm sure that would have been a factor in my heart." He grinned wryly, "I loved feeling my brother's body and him all over mine, but sucking I couldn't do, even though he got me off and I was amazed at the sensations."

Matt nodded his head, "Most probably, Jimmy you are not gay, I think you love your brother enough to try, but you aren't. Too bad, our side needs wonderful men like you." Matt laughed with Jimmy as they considered that thought.

"I never asked you, are you married or have been?"

"No, Matt, I've never been. I was in love a couple of times, but never went through with the ceremony and all that stuff."

"I'd like to ask you another embarrassing question, now tell me true, are you a virgin in all the possible ways?" Matt had put his hand on Jimmy's arm, softly, companionably.

That time Jimmy ducked his head, bright red, with a tear in his eye, "Ok, Matt, the real truth. I'm a virgin in everything except my hand. But see, no hair in my palm." He raised his right hand to show his palm. The two of them broke into roars of laughter, attracting attention, laughing until their stomachs were sore.

"I have to go, Jimmy, but I've enjoyed talking with you, more than anyone in a long, long time. I'd suggest that you ask your brother find you someone to test yourself with, you never know." He had a thought, "I'd appreciate it, Jimmy, if you would give me a call when something I really need to know pops up."

The two men stood, moved out of the booth toward the door, "I'll do that, Matt, I like you and hope everything goes well in your administration. Bye."

"Bye. You are a good man, Jimmy." The smiled at each other, waving good-bye.

In the master bedroom of the Ridgway's farmhouse, Matt and Hardy were lying together in their huge bed, just right for them.

Hardy was wondering, "What happens now, Matt? When do you actually start ordering everyone around? Soon I hope."

Matt put his arm around Hardy to pull him closer so they could cuddle. He slid his hand slowly down his back and over his butt cheeks, caressing them softly with his sensitive fingers. "Hardy, I don't really know. According to Glenn Landsdown, I am the President now, but when I start presiding, I'm not sure." He squeezed his lover all over, "Babe, the investiture is scheduled for Tuesday, January 3, in the middle of winter. I believe I will be on the job within a week or two from now. Did you hear me tell Glenn I wouldn't live in that pile of stones called Windsor Castle? I'm living here with my loved ones and family, so don't worry, I'm never going to leave you, EVER."

"What did you find out about Jimmy and Eddie, the union guys. They wouldn't vote for you. What are they thinking, some sort of resistance?"

"What I think about them, and don't tell anyone, is that Jimmy is a good man, one of his brothers is gay and has a partner. He had his brother give him some hands on instruction to gay thoughts and philosophies. He isn't married, but didn't think his brother had turned him.

"Now Eddie is another matter entirely, we could have a little trouble from him." Jimmy talked to him, explaining about his brother to no avail. He may need behavior adjustment.

Hardy endeavored to have as much of his skin against Matt's, loving his body as well as his mind and soul. "Matty, I need you so bad, please don't immerse yourself so tightly in the job that you don't have time for the rest of us. Please!", he begged, his eyes flush with tears.

"No, Hardy, I will never do that, I'll quit first before I'd do that."

Thinking to himself, Matt had realized that his lover's emotional age lagged behind his chronological age. He was smart, responsible, musically sound, and he was determined to succeed. But his emotions could get in the way of his efficiency, his restraint at times.

Matt pressed his soft, red lips against his lover's, delving into his mouth with his searching tongue, seeking Hardy's tongue and uvula. He ran the back of one hand down his partner's chest, stopping only when his fingers wound around the big cock he found. His other fingers were sliding between his cheeks, teasing Hardy's love hole with his soft tips.

Hardy suddenly pushed Matt on his back until his own body lay squarely on top. His erect penis slid between Matt's thighs just under his ball sack, so soft and warm. They found ways to arouse themselves to their peak, rubbing legs and arms against the other, besides hands occupied with their rigid, strong male power tools.

At that moment the two men noticed a soft rap-rap-rap at their bedroom doors.

Hardy raised his head. Matt raised his head. Both groaned.

Hardy pulled the quilt up to cover their bodies while they uncoupled with great regret and dripping instruments.

"Come in, boys." Matt invited Joshua and Jake into their bedroom. The small boys rushed in wearing their usual costume, pajamas, at least for the moment. Both seemed to be frantically excited, breathing hard and definitely pissed. But the two men did put on some vacant smiles.

Joshua and Jacob jumped on the bed while Matt and Hardy quickly get any sensitive parts of their bodies out of the way.

"Uncle Matt! Uncle Matt! You are going to be President. Wow! Can we touch you? Huh? Can we?" The little boys jumped and bounded around on the bed. Both Matt and Hardy were protecting their genitals with both hands and crossed legs.

"Jacob, go sit on Hardy's lap and Joshua will sit on mine while I tell you just what I'm going to be." He settled Joshua on his lap and asked, "Where did you hear that I was going to be president, huh? From the television?" Matt hugged Joshua, his littlest nephew, "What it is?"

Jacob straightened his back, added 10 years to his age, "It was our Uncle Gary, he heard it on the radio. Is it true?" He was serious, as serious as a 9 year old can become.

Matt cleared his throat, "Guys, I am going to be the President of Windsor College, not of our country. You understand? I'm still going to be living right here in this house with you guys."

"And I'm going to be right here with him," Hardy nuzzled Jacob and tickled him. Jacob's shrieks woke up Todd and Roger who ran in their bedroom. Fortunately the two men had put on boxers that helped, but still vividly showed their big dicks.

Matt very nicely asked T & R to put their kids in bed and leave them there. "If you have to tie them in, so be it." Then he smiled and said "Thanks, guys. Love you all, everybody go away so we can have some privacy." He gave Hardy a sexy look as the other's left.

"Let's get comfy, lover, I'm still in love and in loving you, babe." They clinched.

The days moved so quickly, so dazedly, really, especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. So much to do with gifts, decorations, food preparation and loving relatives and guests kept everyone too busy to worry about the passing of the year. Christmas spirit and spirits invaded the Ridgway farm house through each resident and all of their friends.

Matt's Investiture to the presidency of Windsor College would be held on January 3rd, 2006, just two days after New Years Day. He had been ignoring the encroaching day as best he could, he felt he'd be ready for the job, but still didn't want to create disadvantages in his mind or dwell on the difficulties he would envision. But he didn't have to worry about all the arrangements, Glenn Landsdown had to make all those preparations and produce the show. Matt was looking forward to all of it.

On the other hand there was Hardy Wolfe. It was his job to prepare a music production for the Investiture for his husband and boss, to create a music background for the ceremony itself. He figured a large orchestra would be too much, but he did think a small brass group, especially the group that the honoree had originally devised. The Dukes had been working on the president's music, "Hail to the Chief", but it would be stylized to a slightly less important martial air of command, so would still remind everyone of the position being presented there.

"Hey Matt," Hardy called from the workroom, "how many trumpets do you want on the fanfare. I was thinking of doing the Copland "Fanfare for the Common Man" this time. Would that be all right?"

He waited to hear a response from Matt in the bathroom.

"I don't know, Wolfie, how about the Olympic fanfare by John Williams, that's a good one. Or the Walls of Jericho Come Tumblin' Down."

At that response Hardy knew that his partner didn't care what his Music Department chairman would do. So what he would do would be to please himself. The Dukes had learned a great fanfare earlier in the year and they'd be great.

Since the weather would be very cold, there was no chance of instrumental music out of doors anyway, just in the auditorium. He was thinking of the faculty procession into the place, a bit of a walk from the administration building.

Hardy decided to confront his lover and force him to think about the music and what he thought might work best. When he found him, Matt was lying on their bed, playing with his big himself.

"Hey, man, I wondered why you weren't paying any attention, what do you mean by just laying there, playing with your doodle bug. Gee, you got him standing up, don't you? Was there any reason for all this?"

Matt got up on his knees on the bed, still playing with his personal toy, staring into Hardy's eyes, with a sad look on his face. "Hardy, I was sort of hoping you'd stop working and come see me."

"Oh, I get it now, you were lonely and need some comforting." He smiled warmly, "I know you by now, Dr. Ridgway, after three years of our marriage, I got you pegged.

"How about lying down on your back and I'll be right with you. Don't go away."

Hardy left for the bathroom, stripped out of his clothes, reached into the medicine cabinet to find some lubricant, and anointed his quivering anus for his lover.

Walking back into the bedroom, Hardy noticed that Matt was stretched out, arms and legs widely spaced on the bed, but his huge mantool stood at attention and hardly moved. Matt was smiling, his eyes hot on Hardy's body, enthralled with that marvelous physique, muscular and extremely defined. His handsome glowing face reminded Matt of the first time he met Hardy in his seminar class their first year at Windsor when they stared at each other and determined they would be together forever.

Matt finally looked up at Hardy, "Ya know, I thought you and I would be lovers when we first met, and live together, but look at what we've done. Can you believe it?" He waved his right arm all around the room. "Hardy, someone has been looking out for us, apparently bent on helping us. I love you, Hardy, with all I have and ever will have, you are mine." His eyes misted a bit, making his vision a bit impaired. He held both arms out to Hardy who climbed on the bed and kneed himself over Matt's loins. He bent over to kiss his lover with as loving and humble kiss he could manage, then gradually lowered his rear end until Matt's stiff cock began to split his buttocks, aiming for his hole, just waiting impatiently for him.

Soon Hardy had accepted Matt's love tool entirely into his body, feeling terribly filled but in ecstacy and overflowing passion. He lay on Matt as they grabbed each other tightly. Matt let his hands and arms slide down Hardy's body until he could cup those resplendent cheeks, his most favorite parts of his lover's physical structure, gaining passion as he pushed his cock into that beloved love channel, warm, wet and like velvet. Hardy had learned years back to relax and accept his lover's offering to their sexual mania.

With Matt pushing in and out and Hardy lifting and dropping his rear end, they had just 15 minutes of orgiastic fervor, loving, kissing, caressing each other before they came at the same time. Matt filled Hardy's rectum with his life giving seed while Hardy flooded their abdomens and pubic hair. Hardy collapsed on Matt's shiny body, hugging him, pushing his butt deep to hold Matt's declining cock in his pleasure hole.

No sooner had they gotten up, turned on the shower and cleaned the other's body, washing away the signs of their love, than Todd and Roger burst into the bedroom. Finally the two men were found in their shower when the boys came close. Not affected by the sight of the loving men, they yelled, "Hey, Matt, Hardy, someone's here to see you. He is from the police!

Matt and Hardy giggled, but didn't release each other. They looked at the boys for a while until Todd and Roger realized what they were doing. Both young men's faces declared an admission of embarrassment and some guilt. "Oh, sorry guys," Todd said, "We'll leave now, so you can get dressed." The men in the shower smiled warmly after the others as they left the room, Matt said, "Aren't they cute? I wish we could adopt them. All the big expenses of raising them have been met." Hardy responded, "Yes, they are all learned and stuff. I'd love to keep them with us."

Matt pulled Hardy to his body, "Maybe they'll stay at Windsor and we can keep raising them." Looking at each other, they were sure that would happen. Actually all four of them would remain working at Windsor College until they retired. And Todd and Roger literally became sons and heirs of these two men.

They hugged, kissed and caressed their flesh, slowly going down from their orgasmic high. These two men would never part or wander to another person, they were joined for life, hoping for many years.

The Investiture Day arrived without snow and was above freezing, a rarity on January 3rd, 2006. But the sky was clear with a brilliant, azure blue, just a few fleeting clouds. The campus was empty of students, Investiture Day was a day of holiday at the school, a momentous day in the history of Windsor and Windsor College.

By 10:00 AM the auditorium was beginning to fill for the 11:00 ceremony. Matt and Hardy and dozens of music school students roamed the new Music Building, named for Brian Howard, former Congressman Mike Keith's deceased friend from high school days. Billionaire Bryan Whitlow had funded the building and many other features about the campus.

Matt was in his office while Marty Stuart helped him get into his robes and decorations. She was Matt's first friend on campus to whom he `came out' though he didn't mean to at the time. But she understood, her brother was gay, and she loved him dearly. Marty had hoped to begin a relationship when she first saw Matt, but that was never to be. Particularly after he had seen Hardy Wolfe with whom he bonded. She was the one who figured out he was in love with his brother, Stephen.

Matt wore his PhD robe and scarlet and grey hood, plus the president's fur trimmed robe plus the president's seals, 10 metallic seals in a chain around his neck. He absolutely refused to wear the silly, stupid medieval bonnet that went with his uniform. Marty fussed at him until he decided that was enough and cut off any more dressing. They would have to take him as he came.

Glenn Landsdown, his friend, came to see how well Matt was doing with his academic uniform. Glenn would be leading him onto the stage. A surprise to Matt, Glenn proceeded to hug this friend of his, and not just a quickie. He whispered to Matt, "I'm so proud of you, Matt, I remember when you came in the bank to make your first deposit, I was so pleased to know you and felt you would go far at Windsor."

"Glenn, I appreciate all the help you have given me over the years, you are a wonderful financier and friend. I'm sure we can make more music together. Right?"

Hardy was in the music performance room with his Dukes, preparing them for the ceremony, their routines and music. They would perform before Matt entered the hall so had to get with the program and make tracks to the auditorium green room.

He did make the announcement that their trombonist, Roger Adams, would be their director next year. He would be finished with his graduate degree and would direct them to be better than ever before. "So, lets hear it for Roger, baby." He started applauding and the others followed, yelling for their Rog to fix them up. Hardy noticed that Roger's eyes were misting and even dripping a little.

"Okay, now, let's get moving, good luck and have a great show!" Still, remember who all this fol-de-rol is for, our new president, someone I know fairly well," he grinned, "and you know too."

In the auditorium the seats were filling and a section on the right side would be filled with faculty, administrators and staff. The first four rows of the center section were reserved for Matt's special guests who would arrive shortly. Bryan Whitlow, his partner Congressman Michael Keith and many of Matt's close friends would fill in the rest. Moose and Mike, Todd and some old friends had flown in for the ceremony. Les Reardon, his policeman friend, his brother Stephen and Gary Stuart, of course Greg and Will Gooding, Moose and Mike, Alden Johns and Doug Baker. Hamish would sit with the administrators and staff.

Matt would remember many who were not able to be there from his previous Dukes and bands. He would miss each and every one of them, though they were in his heart forever.

When the house was filled, all seats taken, the Dukes and Duchess of Windsor took the stage and began their prelude music, preparatory to Matt's entrance. They played three numbers, then pronounced the fanfare and entrance of the new president. As the group moved off stage, Matt was led in by Glenn Landsdown, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Only Eddie Svetlak was missing from the group who found their chairs and sat.

Glenn Landsdown took the podium and microphone where he welcomed everyone and began the ritual of investing a chosen person to lead the college. The ritual was long and boring for most people, but soon Matt was standing at the podium to speak when he was interrupted by a standing ovation from the audience who just wouldn't quit. Finally quieted them with his hands and they sat. Matt had walked to the podium with his usual air of mastery, and gave some of his omnipotent personality, a man who knew himself and his abilities to produce excellence in others.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so thrilled with this gathering and my investiture. You can be assured that I will do everything in my power to lead this school of learning and direction for life, the lives of all the students and those whose job it is to give the instruction.

"I am not going to talk long, " he held up a single half sheet of paper, "and this is mostly given to those friends I want to thank who helped me along the way." He stopped, "On further thought, I won't do that because it would take so long, and they well know who they are." Matt's actual thought was that he might have left someone out, that would be a disaster.

"I do have some plans for Windsor College in the future. I won't get into everything, but I do want Windsor College to become Windsor University as soon as possible." He grinned, "That's my big hope. Again". He had to quiet his audience that had burst into applause.

"I have one further announcement, this is not happy, but should be recognized. I learned this morning that two of our graduate band members were killed in Iraq yesterday, and will be shipped home to Windsor in a few days. There will be a memorial to them in this present auditorium soon. Watch for the announcements. I would hope that most of you could be here to give them due justice and to remember them."

"I can't give you their names because the families have not been notified, but will do all I can to keep you informed. Can we please have a moment of silence to recognize their gift of their lives."

Matt timed one minute on his watch and realized that it was a long time for many of them to be silent. Finally, he told everyone how much he appreciated their attendance that day, and that anyone who had problems with the College should let him know. He would be available as much as he could possibly be and still run the college and enjoy his family.

The whole audience rose and applauded loudly and sincerely, recognizing Matt's presence and his captivating energy as someone they wanted.

The Dukes of Windsor returned to the stage with a performance of "Everything's Coming Up Roses" for the closing. They performed so well that Matt was convinced that Roger would have a difficult job topping them on their performance on this day.

A reception for the new President would be held at Windsor Castle, normally the President's home, but Matt refused to live there. From then on it would be solely used as a place for receptions and special College functions. Matt would rarely put himself in that place, it did not bring good memories from earlier times for him. His first evening there ranked with his worse experiences, particularly with his parents who had never told him he and his brother were adopted. They did find out from the FBI that Matt and his brother were related, but they weren't related to their parents or to Gen. Matthew Bunker Ridgway. However his grandmother did turn out to be a daughter of the General.

Matt reached his home about noon with an exhausted body and mind. His face ached with all the smiling he required of himself to all the people who wished him well. Some of his audience he invited to his home that afternoon. He knew Anne, Hardy's mother, had fixed up some fine snacking food for those who came, but he hoped not many would come without an invitation.

Hardy had clean up jobs to perform before he could join his lover. They would only have a little time to be together before the party started. He wished they were having the party that evening, in the pool with their close friends and their usual pool party extravaganza..

Matt was thinking of Hardy as he lay on his bed, imagining his lover naked, on the bed with him, his Adonis looking so hot in his muscles and beautiful face and skin and especially his butt. Suddenly, he decided to swim to help himself relax. He put on his Speedos, the tiny neon blue one that barely fit him. He hadn't heard anyone else arriving at the house, so he walked down the stairs practically naked, until he reached the entry to the pool where a huge sign hung at the entrance, "Hi Mr. President, We Love You." As he reached the opening to the pool, noise burst at him from every direction. His young people had rigged up a surprise for him. He couldn't help it, he sat down cried. The place was filled with swim suited young people, and Hardy was leading them with "Hip, Hip, Hooray", and "Hear, Hear" and finally he heard the Dukes playing in the background, "You Are my Sunshine!."

Everyone was making so much noise, singing and yelling, Matt sank inside himself. He couldn't get himself together until Hardy sat by him, wrapped his arms round him and gave him a big kiss, a sloppy one to boot. He wiped Matt's tears, then shed some of his own.

"Matty, your friends are here, come on, be your wonderful self and love them, please."

Hardy was all over Matt until he finally came out of his coma-like withdrawal. Hardy picked Matt up, led him to the pool and jumped in with his lover. Immediately Matt was awake and thinking, `God, look at all these people, all for me. I gotta be brave.'

So, first thing, he dunked Hardy, pushing him to the bottom, and then hunted around to see who else was in the pool. The eight or ten other bodies in the water hurried away from Matt, "Come here, you lily-livered wastrels, you chicken swabbies, come back," he joked with them.

Matt stood in the shallow end, looking over the whole room, so many friends, new and old, young and not, but wonderful friends. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Christine, Lady Ballard of Ballard House and her husband Lord Ballard from England. She was the first Duchess of Windsor. He rushed to them, hugging each one, getting them soaking wet, but they didn't care. They had flown in from England that morning. They had coordinated their trip with Bryan Whitlow and Mike Keith who had brought them from Cleveland in one of Bryan's helicopters, flown by Judd, helped by Ted Anthony, of course.

"Chris, I can't believe you came all the way here. I love you so."

"Matty, we love you and when we heard about your new job, we just couldn't just stay home. We love your ceremony, but are sorry about the two dead boys. You must bring all of them home, soon."

"Yes, I wish we would."

Charles shook Matt's hand, "Matt I know you will be the best thing for Windsor ever. You will bring them into this new millenium and take the Dukes everywhere." He leaned over and gave Matt a sweet kiss, just a little one, but well meant. Charles was bi, with an edge on gay.

Matt gave Bryan and Mike a good welcome, but kept away so he didn't drip all over them. Matt was still crying, but the tears just dripped from his eyes, he wasn't overcome with sobbing, just went with the flow. Then he saw Ted and Judd, sitting at a table by themselves, "Hey guys, how's it going? You partners yet?"

Ted rose to give Matt a kiss and hug, Judd just gave a hug, he'd never had sex with Matt.. "Yes, Matt, I proposed and Judd accepted me so we are together. And our helicopter and jet business is going great, thanks to Bryan and Mike. Matt thanked them for coming, then saw Ricco and Tony, the architect twins, with a going business in building homes and anything else. Both Tony and Ricco gave Matt a big kiss with tongues and all. They lived next door to Matt and had played around with him while he was finishing his doctorate.

"Thanks for coming, guys, you sure are my favorite twins. No, I mean you are two of my favorite people, hunks that is. I love you both very much. Come back anytime. You both are looking great, you always have." He patted their shoulders as he turned to look around again. Some of his favorites were too far and too busy to come. He'd had many notes and cards, congratulating him from those people.

That day at the pool was a `stay dressed' day, no nakedness, that made Matt decide to have another party that night, a naked party. He smiled as he thought of it. He carefully made sure those who would like had been invited. He didn't tell Hardy, Hardy would just have to take a surprise in a grand manner. Of course Matt knew he would.

Matt had his naked party, and he had called some extras, like Dexter and Junior to come too. Hardy was not particularly surprised that Matt wanted a naked party. Lord and Lady Ballard were to be guests of Brian and Mike Keith at Brian's palatial home in a Washington suburb so they left early. Matt was sure they would have a fantastic time, and meet many of the cognoscenti around Washington to whip up their fine arts knowledge.

Eight years later these same people would meet at the funeral of Dean Hamish MacAllister where Matt would preside at the ceremony. He and Hardy would care for the Dean's adopted sons, Moose and Mike, who were desperate in their sadness and loneliness. As a real plus, the two young men were wealthy heirs.

Soon after the Investiture, Windsor College became Windsor University and grew beyond all their imagining. Finally Roger had to create two Dukes and Duchess groups to use the wonderful kids they were attracting to the school. They also had two concert bands that traded tour times, traveling throughout the country most years. The Dukes also traveled around the country, expanding their reputations and desirability including learning in a concert setting.

Hardy had to hire two more directors, one for the concert bands and another for the Dukes. For these positions they were able to attract LJ and BJ, i.e., Little Jeff and Big Jeff, players in the first Dukes of Windsor. Had to call them back from California where they had been working and had become a couple again.

Matt Ridgway and his alter ego Hardy Wolfe were joined at the heart and the love they showed each other, only with the occasional spat that never amounted to much. They felt their lives were full of happiness and respectability with friends everywhere. They did eventually move on to a larger University that will remain anonymous. Eventually they were allowed to become a married couple as soon as liberalism returned to the country and the conservatives retreated to their homes, defeated by more alert voters all over the states. It could happen.

*** THE END***

I hope you have enjoyed the last parts or the whole entire 50 chapters. I wrote to provide some entertainment and learning to Nifty readers of my fourth story. Thank you for reading. Paul

As the author, Paul Daventon, I would appreciate any response to my story. This second book of the Dukes of Windsor was merely an attempt to connect up the rest of the story with the original chapter 38, ten years after the original book.

Hope you enjoyed the continuation. Write to authorpaul@ mail.com
