Chapter 53

Jolan walked up to his Justin, staring at the two new guests.

Justin's eyes moved from the smaller person, his blue orbs meeting Jolan's grey.

"Jolan, this is Lonnie. He's been my bodyguard and friend since the NSync days." Justin said, Jolan looking at the large black man staring at him.

"Hello, Lonnie. It's a pleasure to meet you."
The large man smiled at him, his large hand enclosing Jolan's.

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Dragos. Justin's told me all about you."
Jolan smiled, looking at Justin.

"Lonnie called this morning to check up on me."
Lonnie smiled at Justin, Jolan seeing their tight friendship.

"Hey, we don't hang out as much anymore, Slim. But I still care about ya."
Justin smiled, Jolan smiling as well.

"Jive's still got me covering him periodically, but it's not like the old days. Right, Slim?"

"Right, Lon. I'm not the mega star I once was." Justin smiled, Jolan looking at him.

"You're still a big star, Jus." he said, Justin smiling, Lonnie looking between the two.

"Great costumes guys. I always knew Justin liked both sides."
Justin blushed, Jolan laughing.

The large man smiled, Jolan's eyes moving to the frog standing a little ways back from them.

"And whose your friend?" Jolan asked, the frog staring at him.

"That's a friend of mine actually." Josh said, walking up to the foursome.

The frog looked towards Josh, then stared again at Jolan.

"Thank you for inviting me, Josh." the frog said, his voice gruff and deep.

Jolan stared at the man, his blue eyes staring back.

Jolan sensed a familiarity in those blue eyes.

"So what exactly are you supposed to be?" Justin said, staring at the man, seeing his frog face, but his smaller body covered in elegant clothing.

"Why, I'm the Frog Prince."

Jolan smiled, the Frog Prince staring still at him.

"Welcome to my home, Mister. . .?" Justin said, a look of confusion on his face.

"Just call me J.T." the man said, shaking Justin's hand.

Jolan looked at Justin, Justin meeting his gaze.

"It's an old fairy tale, Cher. Remember the frog whom the princess kissed that turned into a prince?"
Justin nodded, Jolan smiling at him.

"An interesting costume, J.T. We have a princess here tonight, actually." Josh said, smiling at Jolan and Justin.

Justin's eyes widened, suddenly remembering Jolan's vision in the kitchen that morning.

Jolan remained silent, Josh putting his arm around the Frog Prince, guiding him towards the living room.

Justin's eyes met Jolan's, the two acknowledging each other's thoughts.

"Well it certainly is great to finally meet you, Mr. Dragos. Thanks for protecting my friends here the other day."
Jolan smiled at Lonnie's heartfelt words, Justin smiling as well.

"I wouldn't do any less. And it's just Jolan, Professor."
Lonnie grinned, nodding his head.

Jordan came walking up to the three men, looking at Lonnie, the two nodding at each other.

"I take it Jolan now knows?"

Lonnie and Justin exchanged looks, Jolan watching both with interest.

Jordan blushed, realizing he'd blundered.

"Jolan knows what?" Jolan said, folding his arms.

Justin looked at his lover, seeing his judging stare.

"I'd hoped to deal with this tomorrow. We need to talk, Jo. Let's go into my office." Justin said, Jolan quietly nodding.

The four men walked down the hallway, heading for Justin's private office.

Jolan leaned against the desk, staring at his Justin who stood before him, seeing Justin's nervous trembling.

Lonnie and Jordan sat on a couch, watching the two men.

"Jordan's words this morning worried me greatly, Jo."
Jolan looked towards Jordan, seeing the man watching him.

"I told you this morning that you had nothing to worry about, Jus. I can protect myself."
"But what about Jennie, Jo? You can't shelter her always. What if something happens to her?" Justin said, Jolan hearing the concern in his lover's voice.

Jolan almost moved to take Justin into his arms, then looked towards Lonnie.

"It's okay, Jolan. Justin told me about the two of you this morning. It's nice to see him finally totally happy."
Jolan smiled, putting his arm around Justin, Jolan embracing him.

"Jus, my Jennie has my protection always. I'll hurt anyone who hurts her."

Justin looked into Jolan's grey eyes.

"I've hired Lonnie to be your bodyguard, Jo. He's going to shadow both you and Jennie."

Jolan let go of Justin, the young man staring at him.

"That's not necessary, Justin. I can take care of myself. And so can Jennie."
Justin teared up, Jolan seeing so much worry now in his blue pools of love.

Worry that Justin had hidden so well.

"I'd die if anything happened to either of you, Jo. Please let me do this for you?"

Jolan looked towards the large black man, Lonnie standing up.

"Justin's right, Jolan. You and she need protection. I've discussed everything with Jordan and Justin. I'm more than qualified to protect both of you. Besides, Justin is my friend. And now, hopefully, you and Jennie will be my friends also. Just think of me as a friend who goes with you everywhere. I'm not here to lecture you or get in your way. I'm only here to protect you."

Jolan folded his arms, staring now at Jordan.

The policeman stood up, looking at Jolan.

"You know my views on this, Jolan. I think Justin is right. Both of you need to be protected. And you know the reasoning behind it."
Jolan nodded, looking at the policeman, then at Lonnie, and finally back at Justin.

"I guess the bosses have spoken."

Justin lowered his head, then raised it again, Jolan seeing tears in his eyes.

"I love you, Jolan. And I love Jennie. That's the greatest reason for doing this. I don't ever want to lose your love."
Jolan saw the truth in Justin's blue eyes, smiling at him.

"Fat chance of that ever happening, Jumpy!" he said, pulling Justin against him again.

Justin felt Jolan's love in his tender embrace, no anger at Justin's interference felt.

"Alright, Justin. I'll abide by your needs."

Justin let out a breath of relief, Jolan lightly kissing him.

Jolan stood straight again, extending his hand to Lonnie.

"I guess I should welcome you to the family, Lon. I want your friendship as well."
Lonnie grinned, shaking the young man's hand.

Jennie stood by the punchbowl, laughing with Josh and Lance.

The living room was crowded, dance music bouncing off its walls.

Across the room from her a young soldier stood staring at her.

Tyrone stood beside his cousin Usher, sipping the drink that Jennie had given him, his eyes on Jennie.

Man that's one fine piece of sweetness.

I wonder how hot she really is?

Ush told me about her wild life, being a prostitute in NY.

Bet she's fantastic.

The young man smiled at her when Jennie's eyes scanned the room, focusing on him.

Yeah, that's one fine piece of sweetness.

And I'm going to enjoy that.

The game is on!

The young man smiled, walking across the room and up to Jennie.

Jennie smiled, the two lightly chatting.

In another corner of the room, a young man stood in silence taking in his own vision of the young woman.

To his young eyes he'd never seen such a breathtakingly stunning vision of beauty.

Under his frog mask he smiled a soft smile, his blue eyes glued to her.

He watched as the young black man walked up to her, the Frog's eyes zeroing in on him.

He'd been standing earlier behind that same young man and Usher, unintentionally listening in on their conversation.

When Usher had spoken about the young woman's past, the Frog had seen the young man's eyes widen with lust.

His eyes locked on the young man, their blueness filling with determination.

Yes, he knew the type of guy this soldier was, and the mission he was on.

The Frog Prince's resolve hardened.

He'd watch him very closely.

His eyes went to Jennie's smiling face, seeing her obvious ignorance of what the young man was after.

For your honor I shall be vigilant, he quietly thought, remaining hidden from their view.

Jolan and Justin walked through the living room and patio area, chatting with all their friends and Justin's celebrity acquaintances.

The party seemed a great success, everyone enjoying themselves.

Britney had pulled Justin onto the dance floor, others watching them with fascination and surprise.

Their renewed friendship was on full view for everyone.

Jolan smiled, seeing his Justin beyond happy.

Justin had even pulled Jolan to the dance floor, their costumes a great cover for joining together.

People had laughed, watching the two, believing it to be just a joke of merriment to amuse them.

Jolan had smiled, seeing the open love his Justin was showing the world, even though both knew it wasn't truly open.

But it was damn close.

Their love was showing and no one truly realized it.

Jolan had warm conversations with Janet Jackson and Nick Lachey, as well as many others.

Everyone seemed genuinely interested in his traumatic life.

They all voiced words of encouragement and awing respect, Jolan blushing his thank you for their concern.

Jolan realized that all of them were just regular people underneath the stardom and glitter.

Justin stood back smiling, seeing his lover drawn into their celebrity world.

And he smiled even more seeing his Jolan wasn't phased by any of it.

He truly loved this man.

At midnight he felt it was time for his surprise.

He walked over to the band that was playing on the patio, their live music having filled the backyard with merriment.

Everyone had moved out into the cooling evening breeze, the backyard now full of people.

The band finished its song, Justin grabbing the microphone.

"Hello everyone. Is everyone having a good time?"
Everyone cheered and whistled, looking at Cher in front of the band.

"Sonny, where are you? Where's that husband of mine?"
Jolan laughed, leaving the table he was at, sitting beside Jennie, Josh, Chace, Usher and Tyrone.

Everyone clapped, and whistled as Sonny walked up beside Cher.

"Hey, Sonny. Had trouble getting out of your booster seat?" Cher said, the audience laughing and clapping.

"No sweetie. That was your last cradle-robbed boyfriend." Sonny said, people cheering.

"Watch yourself tonight, Sonny. Someone may place a drink on top of your head."
Josh and Chace laughed, Jennie giggling.

Tyrone stared at her, smiling when her eyes met his.

"You watch yourself too, babe. Airplanes are starting to circle your upper decks."
Cher glared at him, Sonny smiling up at her.

"Gotchya, babe!"
Cher rolled her eyes.

"Nice segue, shrimp!"
Everyone burst out laughing, Cher looking towards the band.

"Hit it boys! Climb up on your box, Sonny."
The backyard filled with music and laughter, both beginning to sing a familiar song.

They say we're young and we don't know
We won't find out until we grow

_Well I don't know if all that's true
'Cause you got me, and baby I got you

Babe
I got you babe
I got you babe

They say our love won't pay the rent
Before it's earned, our money's all been spent
I guess that's so, we don't have a pot
But at least I'm sure of all the things we got

Babe
I got you babe
I got you babe_

Everyone stood still, lost in the music the two men were singing.

Josh and the other boybanders saw before them their friends' open love shining.

To all the others it was just two friends singing as Sonny and Cher.

And Justin's captivating voice was matched perfectly by Jolan's.

Josh stared in disbelief, hearing the beauty of the young man's soprano voice.

_I got flowers in the spring
I got you to wear my ring
And when I'm sad, you're a clown
And if I get scared, you're always around

Don't let them say your hair's too long
'Cause I don't care, with you I can't go wrong
Then put your little hand in mine
There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb

Babe
I got you babe
I got you babe_

Justin and Jolan were staring at each other, the words entering their souls.

Here on the stage Justin felt totally happy, and Jolan saw it in his blue eyes of love.

Justin felt the love in all the words Jolan was singing, and the truth in their meaning.

And his lover's voice was totally amazing.

_
I got you to hold my hand
I got you to understand
I got you to walk with me_

_I got you to talk with me
I got you to kiss goodnight
I got you to hold me tight
I got you, I won't let go
I got you to love me so

I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe_

The backyard exploded with clapping and cheering, Sonny and Cher both bowing, the noise deafening.

"Give her a kiss, Sonny!" screamed Usher, others laughing their heads off.

Cher smiled, pulling Sonny against him.

Sonny's arms went around her, their lips meeting.

Everyone screamed with laughter and clapped louder, the two men breaking their liplock.

"I want a divorce, babe!"

"Fine! Now, maybe I can find a real man, instead of half of one, shrimp!"

The crowd burst into laughter, clapping again, the two men smiling and bowing.

The two men were congratulated by everyone, their performance well-received.

Jolan smiled, Jennie kissing his cheek when he returned to the table.

"Great voice, Jolan. Ever think of singing professionally?" Josh said with admiring respect, Jolan blushing as he patted his shoulder.

"Justin and you guys are the singers, Josh. Not me!" he smiled, Usher now shaking his hand.

"Awesome voice, my friend. A natural!" he said, Justin smiling at Jolan's shining in the spotlight.

"Yeah, Jo. You holding out on me?" Justin said, Jolan smiling at him.

Justin remembered the music that Jolan had played in his condo.

He sensed that his man was a gifted musician.

"I don't remember anything about being a singer, Jus. It's still all lost to me."
Justin nodded, his blue eyes staring at his lover with loving encouragement, Jolan smiling back.

"I'll grab you both a drink, guys!" Jennie said, getting up again.

Justin hugged her, kissing her cheek.

Jolan smiled at her, Tyrone standing as well.

"Let me help you, Jennie." he said, Usher smiling at his cousin's good manners.

The two young people walked into the house, another person watching them go.

Jolan sat down at the table, Justin sitting beside him.

The small group were all voicing their awed wonder at Jolan's remarkable voice.

No one noticed a Frog slipping quietly into the house.

Jennie filled the two glasses of punch for her brothers, smiling as she did it.

Tyrone stood a few feet away, staring at her.

The last waiter who'd come in to pick up a tray of sandwiches had just left.

Tyrone's eyes scanned her naked shoulders, his tongue licking his lips.

His eyes scanned down her back, seeing the zipper on the back of the dress.

He smiled, walking slowly up behind her.

Jennie had just finished filling the two glasses, suddenly feeling a hand on her shoulder.

She turned, staring into Tyrone's brown staring eyes.

"You're so beautiful, Jennie. So incredibly beautiful." he said, his eyes scanning her face.

"Thank you, Tyrone. That's a nice thing to say." she said, a slight tremble going through her body.

"Don't be scared of me, Jennie. I wouldn't think anything would scare you."
"I'm not scared of you." she said, looking around the now empty kitchen.

"You're staying here with Justin now, right?"
"Yes, Jolan and I are his guests."
Tyrone smiled a wide smile, his white teeth shining.

"How about we go up to your room? I'd like to spend some time with you. Some real time." he said, his hand moving around her waist.

Jennie backed up, her grey eyes staring at him.

"No, thank you. I'm not interested in doing that. Please let go of me."
"Aw, come on sweetie! Ush told me about your past. Let's drop the games. You're a slut and you like it. Let's see how you like to please a real man." he said, pulling her against him.

Jennie felt his lips go to her throat, his hands going for the back of her dress.

He pushed her up against the wall, Jennie struggling to get away from him.

"Please stop, please stop it!" she said, her voice edged with emotion now.

"I'll stop when I'm done, slut. Now let's get going!" he said, pulling her with him towards the other doorway that headed towards the foyer.

Jennie struggled, fighting him, the young man stronger than her.

Jennie saw her chance, biting him on the wrist, his fingers dug into her shoulder blade.

Tyrone screamed, shoving her backwards, Jennie losing her foothold, falling to the floor.

"You bitch! Fine, if that's the way you like it! Let's do it here!" he said, glaring down at her, his body now on top of her, Jennie struggling to break free.

"But first, I'm going to beat that sassiness out of you!"

He raised his fist, Jennie screaming loudly.

Jolan and Justin were laughing, sitting at the table surrounded by their friends.

"Great party, Jus." Usher smiled, Britney agreeing with him.

"Nice to see you two as friends again, Britney. It's so surprising." Usher said, Britney smiling at him, her eyes going to Justin.

"We never should have parted. But the past is the past. The future will be wonderful." Justin said, Britney smiling.

Usher nodded, Chris walking up to the table.

"You're next on my dance card, Dorothy!" Chris grinned, Britney smiling at him.

"Go ahead, Brit! I think it would be a blast dancing with a garbage can!" Joey laughed, Chris glaring at him.

"Go play in your litterbox, Puss!" he fired back, Joey in his lion costume staring at him, everyone else holding in their laughter.

"Oh please! Are your bolts stripped, Tin Can Man?" Joey laughed, Chris smiling at him.

"At least my tail isn't longer than my. . ."

Chris didn't have a chance to finish his risqué comment.

The music had stopped, the night air suddenly filled with Tyrone's scream.

It was immediately followed by Jennie's louder, piercing scream.

Jolan and Justin were on their feet in a flash, both moving towards the house.

"Jennie!" Jolan said, flying like lightning, Justin and the others following far behind.

Jennie stared upwards, seeing Tyrone's hand raised, her voice screaming.

She closed her eyes in trembling fear, waiting for the hurting pain.

It never happened.

In the darkness of her mind she heard a loud metallic thud.

Her eyes flew open, staring upwards, seeing someone standing behind Tyrone, a frying pan in the person's left hand.

Tyrone's hand was now down, the young man suddenly falling forward, collapsing beside Jennie.

Jennie stared up at the person staring down at her.

She stared at the green mask of a Frog-faced individual.

The Frog dropped the pan, kneeling down beside her.

"It's okay, you're going to be okay. Just stay calm. I'll get help!" he said, his voice soft and reassuring.

Jennie's eyes filled with tears, the frog mask eyelets showing blue eyes behind them.

She saw in those blue eyes a vague familiarity.

She felt a lot of calming, concerned love in those blue eyes.

They reminded her of Justin.

The Frog stood up again, just as Jolan came flying into the room.

Jolan's eyes took in the scene before him.

His sister lay on the kitchen floor, Tyrone laying beside her.

He saw the state of her dress, seeing the garment disheveled, and partially ripped.

He stared at the Frog standing above her.

"You bastard! What did you do to my sister?" he screamed, lunging for him.

Jolan seized him, pushing him up against the counter, the Frog struggling to get out of his strong grasp.

"I'm going to hurt you for touching her!!" Jolan screamed, his fist moving backwards.

"Jolan, stop! He saved me! He didn't hurt me! It was Tyrone!!" Jennie said, her voice on the edge of crying.

Jolan stopped immediately, releasing the Frog, going to his sister's side,  taking her into his arms.

"It's okay, Jennie. I'm here! No one's going to touch you! I'm here!" he said, tears in his eyes.

Justin and Josh--followed by Joey, Chace, Lance and Chris, as well as Lonnie, Usher and Britney--flew into the room, seeing Jennie in Jolan's arms.

Lance and Chris stood at the door, barring anyone else from entering, the guests staring behind them.

"Oh God! What's happened?" Justin said, his face covered in concern.

The Frog walked up to them, staring at them.

"Jennie was attacked by Tyrone. He was trying to. . .he was after her! I stopped him with a frying pan to the head. He was on top of her and he was going to hurt her and worse. I had to stop him!" the Frog said, everyone hearing the emotion in his now young-sounding voice.

Josh went to the Frog's side, putting his arm around him.

"You did good, my friend." he said, comforting the man.

Jolan's eyes went to the young man laying on the floor.

Jolan slowly stood up, his Jennie in his arms, Jennie having calmed down, again on her feet.

"I'm okay, Jolly. He didn't hurt me." she said softly, looking at her brother and Justin with a soft look of emotion in her eyes.

Jolan guided her into his lover's arms, Justin gently wrapped his arm around her.

In Justin's protective embrace she felt love.

Jolan stared at the Frog, the man staring back.

Jolan's eyes went to the man on the floor, Jolan moving with lightning speed.

He grabbed the comatose man, lifting him up, slapping his face.

"Wake up you bastard, so I can send you to hell!" he said, his voice filled with anger.

Joey, Josh and Chace had their arms around Jolan in a flash, struggling to hold him, Lonnie pulling the young unconscious man out of Jolan's arms.

"Calm down, Jolan! That's not going to solve anything!" Lonnie said, Usher now at his side, trying to wake up his cousin.

"I'm so sorry, Jolan! I had no idea he would do such a thing! Please believe me! I'd never have let him near Jennie if I'd known." Usher said, his voice filled with emotion, his cousin in his arms, Usher slapping his young face, albeit not as hard as Jolan had done.

The young man was slowly coming around, Jolan staring at him with seething anger now on his face.

"You'd better take him home, Ush! Justin will call you later!" Josh said, Usher nodding.

He looked at Jolan and Justin.

"I'm so sorry, Jolan."
Lonnie and Usher moved, carrying the young man out of the room.

Jolan stared after them with fire in his glowing eyes, Joey and Josh still holding onto him, Chace now standing in front of him.

"Let the anger go, Jolan! It's over! Jennie needs her brother!" he said, Jolan staring into his blue eyes, seeing Chace's calming friendship.

Jolan shrugged off the men holding him, walking over to his sister, Jennie again in his arms.

"I'm alright, Jolly. You need to calm down. I'm okay." she said, looking into his grey eyes.

Jolan hugged her close, his eyes filling with tears, Justin's arm going around him.

"I'm sorry I let that happen again, Jennie! I'm so sorry!" Jolan said, tears now falling, holding onto her for dear life.

"It's okay, Jolly. He didn't do anything to me. I had a knight in shining armor to protect me."
The two slowly broke apart, everyone's eyes going to the Frog standing by himself.

Jolan looked at the Frog, the man trembling a little.

Jennie moved slowly, Jolan at her side like a shadow.

"Thank you for rescuing me, sir. That was a noble thing you did." she said, the man nodding his head.

"I was watching the young man earlier. I sensed he was eyeing you. I took it upon myself to watch him closely. I'm sorry he went so far. You didn't deserve any of that. I hope you're okay?"
Jennie smiled, hearing the beauty of the young man's voice before her.

She leaned forward, kissing the cheek of the man's rubber mask.

The young man behind the mask trembled, her touching act moving his soul.

"Who are you, sir? I'd like to thank the real you." she asked, staring into his blue eyes, Jolan quietly looking at him as well.

The Frog looked at Josh, Josh nodding.

His slim, sleek hands moved upwards, pulling the mask off his head.

Justin gasped, staring at the blond-headed youth staring back at all of them.

The all too-familiar blond-haired youth.

"Jonathan?!!" Justin said with surprise, moving forward, wrapping his arms around the young man.

The young man smiled, Jennie staring at him, seeing a resemblance between him and Justin.

Justin hugged the young man for a moment with unbelievable joy, then let him go.

Both of them turned towards the two Dragos siblings, smiling.

Jennie and Jolan both stared into the two sets of almost identical blue eyes.

"I'd like you both to meet my brother, Jonathan." Justin said.

Jennie lay silent, snuggled against Britney's chest.

The two women were laying in Jennie's bed, their bodies covered by a soft velvet throw.

Britney's arms were wrapped around her, the younger woman sound asleep.

The door of Jennie's room opened slowly, Justin's head peeking in.

"Is she finally asleep, Brit?" he whispered, Britney nodding with a soft smile.

She gently moved, the younger woman stirring a bit, but not waking.

Britney got up slowly, her eyes on Jennie's sleeping face.

She covered her in the soft throw, leaning down and kissing her cheek.

After Jonathan's revealing moment, Britney had taken charge of Jennie.

Her motherly instincts going into full action.

She'd wrapped her arms around the young woman, smiling at her with compassion.

"You need to lay down, Jennie. Let me take you upstairs." she'd said, Jolan nodding at her kindness.

Jennie had walked out of the room with Britney, Jolan and Justin following behind them.

She'd taken Jennie upstairs, the two laying down immediately.

Jolan had stood by the door, silent and unmoving, Justin's arms wrapped around him.

They'd both remained silent, watching Britney's loving tenderness with the young girl.

"He pushed me down, he was so strong!. But I tried to fight him! He wouldn't stop!" she softly said, Britney humming softly, stroking the young girl's back.

"Shhhh, baby! Just close your eyes and relax." Britney said, softly humming, her eyes looking towards Justin and Jolan, nodding at them to leave.

Justin gently guided Jolan out of the room, softly closing the door.

And now here it was half an hour later, Justin going back into the room to check on both of them.

Jolan remained downstairs in the living room, silent and still.

"She'll sleep the rest of the night, Jus. She's emotionally exhausted."

Justin hugged his friend to him, Britney hugging him back.

"Thank you for calming her, Brit. She needed a mother's love."
Britney smiled, looking up into his blue eyes.

"You care deeply for her, don't you JuJu?"
"I love her just as much as I love Jo." he said, Britney rubbing his back.

"How's Jolan? He seemed really shook up." she softly said, guiding both of them out of the room, quietly closing the bedroom door behind them.

"I don't know, Brit. He won't talk to me. He's totally closed off from all of us. Everyone's downstairs in the living room with him. All the other guests have left." Justin said, Britney's arm still around him.

All the invited guests had left, the party now over.

The evening had ended after the drama in the kitchen, people sensing Justin's friends were worried for the young woman.

Justin thanked everyone, Josh and Joey guiding them all out of the home.

Britney and Justin walked down the stairs, both walking into the living room.

Everyone stood, all except Jolan.

The young man was sitting on a couch, his head lowered.

"How's Jennie, Jus?" Josh asked, Justin looking around at everyone.

Josh, Chace, Joey, Lance, Chris, Jordan, Lonnie and Jonathan were all standing around the room, concern on all their faces.

"She's sleeping, finally. She'll sleep through the night." he said, his eyes now on Jolan.

Justin broke from Britney's hold, wanting to go to Jolan, Britney putting her hand on his shoulder and stopping him.

The young woman walking across the room, sitting down beside Jolan.

Her arm went around his shoulder, her body leaning against him.

"It's not your fault, Jolan."
Jolan raised his head, tears in his eyes.

"I swore to protect her! I promised to protect her! And here in the heart of safety and love she wasn't safe!" he sobbed, Justin staring at him in tears.

He now sensed the utter defeat in Jolan's voice, the utter helplessness he felt at not protecting her.

Justin rushed across the room, Jolan falling into his arms, sobbing.

Justin held him, kissing his forehead, Jolan crying.

"I didn't feel him! I didn't even know he was after her!"

Britney rubbed his shoulder, tears in her eyes as well.

Everyone in the room felt the emotion in Jolan's voice, Jonathan silently looking at his brother holding the young man.

Jolan's eyes raised, looking into Britney's face.

"She loves you, Jolan. She knows you'd protect her if you could. But you can't be with her always. To do that would make her feel like a prisoner. And that child needs to feel free. You've seen her happiness the last few weeks. You've seen the joy in her eyes with her being surrounded by your and Justin's love. Tonight was a tragedy that shouldn't have happened, but it did. We can't change that, no more than we can change what happened to her before. You can't hide her away from life. She has to live it. I truly don't think this will affect her, Jolan. She spoke to me upstairs and she seemed so calm and strong. Tonight, a greater tragedy was stopped by Justin's brother. Look around you, Jolan. Everyone in this room will do all in their power to see that she's protected. Tonight, she was saved by one of us."

"One who respects and admires her." Jonathan said, Jolan's eyes moving to Jonathan's blue orbs.

Jolan looked back at Britney, the woman kissing his cheek.

"We all love you and her, Jolan. None of us doubt your ability to protect her. No more than we doubt your ability to love her, like we all do."

Jolan smiled, kissing her back.

"Thanks, Britney. All I can do is love her, and be there for her."
Britney nodded, smiling at him.

Jolan stood up, Justin letting go of him.

He walked over to Justin's brother, the young man smiling at him.

"Thank you for helping her, Jonathan. For saving her from. . ."

Jonathan smiled, staring at Jolan.

"It wasn't hard to do. I saw my brother's love for her easily. The same love I now see he has for you."

Justin looked surprised, getting up and walking over to his brother.

Jonathan looked into his brother's blue eyes.

"I know I'm young Jus, but I'm not blind."

Justin laughed, his arm going around Jolan.

"I love Jolan, Jonathan. He and I are together. I'm gay."
Jonathan smiled, leaning forward and kissing his brother's cheek.

He turned, his young handsome face smiling at Jolan.

"I guess I should welcome you to the family then, Jolan. His love will surprise you. He's the older brother I've always loved."
Justin teared up, Jonathan pulling Jolan into a tight hug.

I hope that you weren't too worried about Jennie's trauma.

I just wanted to surprise all of you with the introduction of Jonathan.

Perhaps he and Jennie can be great friends.

I hope you all enjoyed the costumed merriment that took place.

Thanks to Mikey for the Sonny and Cher idea.

Up next:  The aftermath of the night of spooky drama.

Hugs, Angel.

P.S.  I'd like to do an informal, optional poll for all my fans.
