Chapter Seven

“Hi Mom! Hi Dad! Did you guys have a nice romantic flight across the Atlantic? How’s Paris?” asked Colt.

“Hey, Dad. We're at the Hilton, we got a great view of London!” commented Arbor.

“The trip was fine, but we were getting a bit worried when you boys didn’t call” said Ruthie as she turned on the TV.

“Oh. We had some air traffic delays” said Colt “So, you guys planning a nice romantic dinner?”

Ruth’s attention went to the TV. They were reporting about a 747 and showed the damage to the fuselage. Ruth picked up that it was flight Flight 472. She looked in horror and her attention was completely fixed on translating what the French reporter was saying and then picked up the fact that there were two unknown teenage boys who saved the plane from total disaster. Paul’s attention also went to the news story.

“Hello. Is anyone there?” asked Arbor.

“They must be smooching” laughed Colt.

“Colt”

“Yes, Dad”

“How about telling us what really happened on Flight 472. It really doesn’t take much guessing on our part to know who the two mysterious teenagers were.”

“Well, we didn’t want you two to worry. It was quite an awesome flight!” said Colt. Then he and Arbor proceeded to tell them the story in detail.

“You built another Mother?” asked Paul.

“Well, not exactly…” said Colt in a quite voice.

“What do you mean not exactly?”

“Nuts, is Mother. Dad, I was afraid if anyone knew-well. I just wanted everyone to think that Mother was gone. I’ve made modifications.”
“I suppose you knew about this too, Arbor?”

“Well, not until Colt showed me Nuts. And then I figured it out. Paul you can’t blame him for doing it.”

“I’m not. But now others know that Colt’s created a new PC and that puts you in a serious situation.”

“But, Belkirk is dead.”

“Yes, Colt he is dead, but has it occurred to you that he may have told someone else - that he may have been working for someone else! When it was known that the PC was destroyed you were safe! But now you’re in worse trouble because someone’s going to piece together that you created a new Mother!”

“No. I… I didn’t” Colt said quietly.

“We’re leaving on the next flight to London!” said Ruth.

“Mom, please, we’ll be fine. We can catch the night time to Paris and be there in the morning!” said Colt.

“Right, Mom. Look we’re fine! We’ll be okay! Honest! The only people who know outside Maureen’s people are the flight crew and they only know us by Rye-Zen and Phoenix Starr.”

“Paul what do you think?” asked Ruth.

“Okay. You guys stay there in London. Don’t get into trouble. In fact, just stay in the hotel! I’ll call Kevin and he’ll arrive tomorrow.”

“Dad, we don’t need a nurse maid!”

“Son, it’s either Kevin or us! Which do you want?”

The two replied “Kev!”

They talked a little longer then hung up.

An hour later Colt said “I’m bored. Let’s go down to the lobby and eat in the coffee shop. We’re still in the hotel - I mean what could happen, right?”

Arbor agreed and they both took the elevator down to the lobby.

“Oh! My Gawd! Gimmie that drawing! It’s him Rye-Zen Starr and his brother!” Brewster Gromwell exclaimed.

Robin Crenshaw jerked his head around, “Blimey! You’re fuckin’ right! Get out your camera!” Crenshaw was running across the lobby to meet Colt and Arbor. “Rye-Zen Starr! Phoenix Starr! Robin Crenshaw, reporter, I’m very glad to meet you!”

Both boys were jolted by the fact that they had been recognized by a complete stranger, a reporter!

“You two are quite the American heroes!” exclaimed Crenshaw.

Suddenly Arbor reacted by saying “I beg you pardon, sir! I am not an American. I’m British!” in a perfect upper class accent. My name is Robert James Fitzgerald and this is my friend from France Jean-Pierre Letrec!”

“Bonsoir, Messieurs. I em French, pas Americaine!” stated Colt in a heavy French accent.

“I’m sorry you look exactly like the two American teenagers who saved Flight 472, ‘ere see for yourself!” Crenshaw said as he turned the drawing around to show the boys.
“Well, they look similar, but I’m afraid we were crossing the channel earlier today and definitely not flying. Jean-Pierre gets airsick so we never travel by air!” said Arbor.

Brewster was about to take a photo of the two when Colt knocked the camera out of his hands saying “Fuck off you stupid asshole!” then as he realized it came out in his totally American accent he said “Oops!”

“Shit! Rye-Zen! You and your fuckin’ temper!” Arbor exclaimed as he grabbed the sketch, shoved the reporter so hard he fell flat on his back and slide a few feet. Colt smashed his foot down on the camera then kicked it as hard as he could, sending it sailing across the lobby and smashed into a revolving door. The two took off out of the hotel and down the street.

By the time Crenshaw and Gromwell got it together the two boys were out of sight.

“Those lit’le shits!” exclaimed Gromwell “They fuckin’ busted me Nikon!”

“This is fuckin great! What a story! Come on let’s get back to the office. We’ve got a deadline!”

****

“This is great, Colt! Mom and Dad say to keep out of trouble and what do we do!” said Arbor catching is breath.

“You know they’re going to run a story and that stupid drawing…” Colt said as a devilish smile appeared on his face “I’ve got a great idea! Let’s go get Nuts!” he started laughing. Colt explained is devious plan and soon both boys were laughing.

The next morning Crenshaw and Gromwell’s paper ran the following headline and story

ALIENS FROM PLANET ZOGAR SAVE FLIGHT 472!
By Robin Crenshaw photographs by B. Gromwell

Two aliens from the planet Zogar under the aliases of Red Blazer and Blue Blazer used their advanced technology to save the people on flight 472. Our two American sources from the United States, currently staying at the London Hilton at our papers expense said “I realized they were aliens when I saw them transform from a hideous creature into a human like boys. The so called bomb was not a bomb, but the result of a Sardenian death ray fired at them from a spaceship located ten miles up.”

They said “It’s all a cover up by British and American intelligence to portray this as a terrorist attack. I was there and I know what really happened!”
This reporter and his sexy partner and photographer (we’re actually lovers) got these exclusive photos of the aliens as they transformed from humans back to their original ghastly selves.

The rest of the page was filled with pictures of alien creatures morphed with pictures of the royal family and two vague hand sketches of two unrecognizable teenagers who looked like Bert and Ernie.

Colt and Arbor laughed until their sides hurt as they read the famous British tabloid. Colt picked up the phone and called the paper.

“Crenshaw.”

“Loved your story!” laughed Colt.

“That was not my story!” screamed Crenshaw.

“I know, I hope you can take the joke and remember never mess with us again or you’ll find porno pictures of you and your lover photographer displayed on every tabloid in the world!”

“Who is this?” he screamed.

“Rye-Zen Starr. I’m not kidding I’ll make your life hell if you print a single word or even hint at our names. You’ve seen just a hint of what I can do. Stay away from me and my brother!” Colt said coolly then hung the phone up.

“You know Colt,” said Arbor “We could teach all these tabloids a lesson. Everyone knows they caused the death of the Princess through their sensationalism and paying thousands, hundreds of thousands of dollars for photos. And they still continue to harass celebrities - I think its pay back time!”

Colt smiled and said devilishly “Let’s get Nuts and let’s get started!”
