Chapter 9 ~ Transformation

I found myself in this empty nothingness again, how do I keep getting here, what is this place? So many questions but no answers. The weird thing though is that I feel completely at ease here. But I could feel the presents of someone or something else here with me. I turned my attention to the pitch black abisis that I was floating in and shouted "who's there, I know someone is.." I waited in silence for a few minutes before I heard that same voice from the the other day "Hello Landon." I could hear the amusement in his voice as he spoke. "Who the hell are you." I spat, I was over the mysterious act. He laughed like it should have been obvious to me who he was, "To answer your question, I'm YOU, well a part of you at least." He said, he started to laugh as he saw the confused look on my face. "Wwwhat are you talking about." I stuttered. "I've always been here a part of you. Watching everything from this void in your mind." He said so calmly it sent shivers down my spine. "I don't understand.." I muttered so low it was almost a whisper. "When the time comes we will meet face to face Landon, I'll be waiting." He said menacingly I opened my eyes and realized I was in my room laying in my bed,was that a dream? I could feel my heart beat pounding in my chest from what just happened. I don't think that was a dream I thought to myself, "things are getting weird." I muttered as I got up out of bed. I threw on a pair of basketball shorts and headed down stairs, I could hear Juju in the kitchen making something and it smelt amazing. The smell of what she was cooking reminded me that i was pretty hungry myself. As I walked into the kitchen Juju was standing at the stove making the most delicious smelling concoction. It looked like it was the ultimate breakfast. A big skillet filled with: scrambled eggs, bell peppers, sausage, bacon, cheese. "Smells good Juju" I said with a smile, as I walked in and sat at the counter and she fixed me a plate. "Well look who's up!" She joked "good morning baby boy how are you feeling." She asked trying to sound casual but I could feel the concern in her voice. "Great actually." I said cheerfully in between bites of food "honestly I haven't felt this good in a while." I added. "Well I'm glad your ok, you gave me and Stiles quite a scare the other day." She said with a worried tone in her voice. "I'm not to sure what's going on but I feel like something is changing." I said as i finished my food and washed my plate. She looked to me and smiled "It's going to happen soon then." "Whats going to happen soon?" I yelled as she ran from the kitchen and up the stairs. "Hold on I'll explain every thing in a minute." She yelled excitedly from up stairs. A few minutes later she came back into the kitchen with this cool old looking book with this symbol on its cover and sat it on the counter where i was sitting. It was a circle and inside the circle was four triangles one large one in the middle with a smaller triangle connected to each point. "What is that." I asked, Juju smiled as she opened the book. "Akunda nia" she softly. "Ahound a what." I laughed Juju looked at me and laughed as she explained "Akunda Nia, is kind of like a big book of every thing." She must have saw the look of confusion on my face because she smiled and elaborated " It has answers, spells, its also a bestiary, and much more." I looked at her and smiled "Do you actually use this thing? You could probably find the answer you need from google it would take up less space." I laughed but Juju didn't find it funny she just raised her eyebrow "Google doesn't have fae history or magic. Landon sweetheart, I don't think you realize what a powerful tool this is and in the wrong hand could be deadly." She said sternly as she flipped a couple pages before she settled on one. "This should help explain every thing you need to know." She said pointing to the page. I stepped up to get a better look at the page and the first thing I notice was it seemed to be in a different language something I've never seen before, but the weirdest part is that I understood what it said. "In every young fae's life there comes a point where their abilities start to out grow their human body and a transformation is in order to bring a Fae into their birth right." I looked to Juju "what does it mean transformation?" I mush have looked worried because she put her arm around my shoulder and looked into my eyes. "My boy there's nothing to be scared of, your inter Fae I'd finally awaking thats what the book what talking about when it said birth right and in order for it to fully awaken your body has to be ready for it every fae goes thur a transformation. Some more drastic then others." She explained "what do you mean some are more drastic then others?" I asked honestly a little scared. "Well to be honest hunny it just depends on how your body needs to change to accommodate your growing abilities. But no one will see a difference untill you shift." She quickly "wait we shift?" I about yelled. She threw her hand to the back of her neck and rubbed it gently, she walked over and started a kettle of water as she started to go in depth "well fae live among humans as do a lot of supernatural creatures and like alot of them they look like normal humans untill they shift into there true form to use their full strength much like werewolves do, Fae or Fairys come in many shapes and sizes, that's why there are so many different theories of what Fairys look like and what they can do. Some look more human, some look angelic, and so even look demonic. Alot of what a Fae looks like depends on the blood line of the fae in question. For example the more angelic and demonic looking fae are most likely from a royal blood line, where as the the more human looking fae are simply common fae." She finished as the tea kettle started to whistle. I sat there trying to soak it all in when I realized something, "why have I never seen you shift Juju?" I asked curiously "I haven't had a reason to honestly and I didn't feel you were ready, I wanted to wait untill you were closer to your transformation to tell you every thing." She said slowly sipping her tea. "C-could I see it now?" I asked not wanting to be rude. With a soft sigh she smiled and took a step back from the counter she was leaning on. She closed her eyes and took a couple deep breaths, I watched as face started to morph her cheek bones became higher and her eye sockets grew a little bigger, her hair which use to be blonde was now white. I watched as she sprouted bird like wings, She definitely looked like an angel. I stood there with my jaw on the ground, I was utterly speachless. She smiled at me and said with the most beautiful soothing voice I felt could have calmed the most wild of beast "what do you think baby boy." "Wow!" Was all I could say. She shifted back and gave me a big hug as we pulled back from our hug my phone went off. I pull it out of my pocket and checked it for the first time since every thing happened. It was a call from Stiles, I looked to Juju she smiled and nodded her head telling me to answer the phone and that she would be back a little later she has some business to take care of as she picked up the book and walked out of the room. "Hey Stiles." I said cheerfully. "Landon your ok? Thank god, I was so worried what happened." He replied all in one breath excited to hear my voice. I explained every thing Juju and I just talked about. "Sounds intense, are you ok?" I could tell he was worried. "I still don't understand every thing but I'm doing ok actually." I laughed we talked a little more most of it was me reassuring Stiles that I was fine before he had to go help his dad. I sat there for a while reflecting on every thing I learned today about fae like the blood lines and shifting when it accrued to me, Juju said the angelic looking fae are often from a royal blood line. So does that mean Juju is from a royal blood line? Am I? Why didn't she mention it before? Again I'm left with more questions I feel like she does that on purpose, gives me just enough to get what I need.
