Claude

I was in the middle of preparing a celebration dinner. My boy, yes I think of him as my boy, my son!

Each day he does something to make me love him just a little more. I am so proud of him, I guess like any father is proud of their son.

Today is special, he told Alex how much he loved him and found out that Alex loves him just as much. Just as I knew Alex did.

He called me from the Eiffel Tower to let me know that they had had their first kiss and how wonderful it was! And they will be doing their own wedding vows! To be the first one he called to tell of his happiness brought tears to my eyes. I guess I'm just a sentimental old fool.

I have been trying to think of what I will give them for a wedding present. Nothing seems good enough.

The tears that are preventing me from seeing too well are tears of worry and sadness.

Alex just called me to say that he was on his way to the hospital with Jason who may have serious injuries. A car hit him. "Oh God, please don't take him away like you took Michael! Please!"

I met Alex when I arrived at the hospital. If anyone could be in worse shape than me it was Alex.

I found out that Jason was in surgery the attending surgeon was Dr. Henri Pardue. I knew him well. I asked for them to have Dr. Pardue to contact me as soon as possible after the operation, that I was a personal friend.

I told Alex that the Doctor was a personal friend and that Jason was in the best hands. For the next two hours we talked and cried about Alex.

Ian and Sven showed up. Alex again broke into tears and I could see that both Ian and Sven were doing their best not to join him. Jason sort of really gets to you and just the idea that he might be in some pain or worse, well it just seems like such a loss.

Ian asked me how I knew Jason, so I told them about our first and second encounters. And then what happened three months later, with buckets of tears from Alex, Sven and I. Ian hadn't shed one tear, but I was sure they were there; he just managed to control his emotions a lot better, probably because he is British.

I told them how I became known as Jason's Papa and of the drawing he gave me.

Ian said, "Papa Claude, sounds good to me. You sly old Bisexual, you! And here I thought you were gay! Why he even looks like you, eh maybe not."

"Did I ever tell you about how the imp got me writing?"

"Yes, a million times," said Alex.

"NO, Alex two million times!" laughed Sven.

"I wasn't talking to you lot anyway, I talking to the only other intelligent being around here besides myself, Papa Claude."

"Anyway," Ian started while Alex and Sven started snoring loudly.

"Boys, please give Ian a chance."

"Yes, rude k-knaves!"

"I love it when he talks dirty! oooo!" laughed Alex.

Ian sighed, "You know, if the yank, were here, he'd tell you to be nice to me and shut up! Well, actually no he wouldn't; he'd be leading the distractions." At that moment he looked quite sad and the tears well up in his eyes and the tears flowed as he began to sob.

Alex took him in his arms and comforted him. Sven joined them in a three-way hug.

"Oh, Alex, I was such a shit to him today! I'm so sorry. I really love him as much as you do. Well, probably not as much as you, but I do love him. He sort of worms his way into your heart. How does it do that? What if..."

"Shh! Ian! Don't even think it. He's going to be okay. He has to! I have a show in one month and he promised to be there. Jason never lies."

Everything went quite for a few moments.

"You're right, Jason has never lied to me once. When my writing was bad he told me!" Ian sort of half laughed.

I looked up and coming down the corridor was Dr. Pardue. I got up and walked to meet him. Alex joined me at my side.

We did the usual French courtesies. I introduced him to Alex.

"How is he?" we asked.

"Incredibly, lucky. The car antenna pierced his chest, narrowly missed his heart and anything vital. What took so long was removing the object. I think if he hadn't been kept still, he would be dead." The doctor when on to explain some of the details of what they did.

"Can we see him?" I asked.

"Yes, but only for a moment. He's conscious," Dr. Pardue looked at Alex, "You must have a very special love. The first thing he asked when he regained consciousness was to see Alex. So, come with me."
