Sarah and Michelle Chapter 4 By: Daisy D.

The meeting started at 8 and the whole team was there; many of the girls were joking about last night. Many people were laughing about Rachel and how drunk she was. Michelle was the last one to get to the meeting. Michelle had decided not to sit near Sarah; she just wanted to avoid the whole situation.

As hard as Michelle tried to act like nothing was bothering her it was so hard when Sarah turned from her conversation with some of the girls to wave and say hi. It was like a moment from a movie, Sarah turned her head and there was a wind machine and her hair was flowing behind her. Michelle could barely control herself. She sat at the back of the group and tried to listen to what the coach was saying she couldn't help but stare at the back of Sarah's head.

After the meeting, Sarah caught Michelle before she could run out of the gym, "Hey are you avoiding me or something?" she said with a laugh.

"No, I've just have to meet someone," Michelle said hoping Sarah couldn't hear the uncertainty in her voice.

"So you've got a date?" Sarah said a little more seriously.

"Yes I do with that bartender," Michelle lied.

"Oh well don't let me keep you," Sarah said without holding back her disappointment.

When Sarah heard that Michelle had a date with that bartender she decided she wouldn't be so obvious with Michelle. If Michelle wanted to start something she could do it. Sarah was hurt and she didn't quite understand why; she and Michelle weren't together or even seeing each other and she had no valid reason to be hurt. Even so, she was.

Sarah left the gym with Rachel and they were chatting about how weird Michelle was acting, "I just don't understand she spends the whole night on Wednesday talking me up and getting me drunk and when she was very touchy feely on the way to the cab. But the bartender she ignored all night gets to take her on a date." Sarah said.

"It really doesn't make any sense, I mean, you saw the look she gave me at the bar," Rachel said.

On the drive home the two girls were trying their hardest to figure out what Michelle was doing. The worst kind of lesbian is the kind that gives mixed signals. Rachel dropped Sarah off at home and Sarah went straight into the shower.

Sarah always did her best thinking in the shower, as the hot water poured down her back and onto the floor she tried to decide what to do. After a while, Sarah came to the realization that there was nothing she could do. She was just going to flirt subtly and see what Michelle would do maybe she would flirt back and maybe she wouldn't. That was a risk Sarah was willing to take.

`Why did I lie?' Michelle cursed herself as she went to her car. She didn't have anything to prove to Sarah, as far as Sarah was concerned she was straight. Michelle was seriously doubting whether she was straight or not. The feelings she felt for Sarah were the same she felt for boys, except more intense. Michelle was very confused but she wasn't sure she could hide her feelings for much longer; every time Michelle saw Sarah her feelings grew. She felt like all this wondering and fantasizing about Sarah was consuming her life.

Michelle felt terrible and had no idea how she would answer the questions of her team. She hadn't actually had a date and had told everyone she did; on Saturday at the next practice she would have to face an onslaught of questions about her date. Worst of all, she had to face lying to Sarah. `What a great way to start a friendship,' Michelle thought.

What she really did that night was eat a nice dinner alone. After her dinner she wanted to go out and do something and she was feeling a little bit gutsy so she called Sarah. Unfortunately, Michelle got her voicemail, again.

"Hey Sarah, its Michelle. Just calling to see if you had plans later, give me a call when you get the chance," she said on the machine.

One missed call from Michelle. Crap. How did Sarah miss that call? She had just left the room for a couple of minutes to check her email.

"Hey Michelle, its Sarah. I don't have any plans tonight what did you have in mind?" Sarah said when Michelle picked up the phone.

"Oh well it is cheap movie night, do you want to go catch a movie?" Michelle said amazed that Sarah had called her back so quickly. At least she wasn't screening her calls. It was decided that Sarah would pick Michelle up and they would go see the new funny blockbuster.

After Michelle gave Sarah the directions to her house Sarah took twenty minutes to put on some makeup, change her clothes and ruffle her hair. She drove the fifteen minute drive to Michelle's house and rang her doorbell. Sarah wasn't nervous because this wasn't a date and she had no reason to be.

Michelle was nervous; she kept checking the windows to see if Sarah had pulled up yet. When she heard the doorbell ring, Michelle was relieved. She waited a couple seconds before opening the door, Michelle didn't want to seem too eager.

"Hey, are you ready? The movie starts in about forty-five minutes," Sarah said with a genuine smile.

"Yeah I'm ready let's hit the road Jack," Michelle could not believe she had just said something so lame in front of Sarah. Luckily, Sarah giggled. Sarah was being so adorable, she even opened Michelle's car door. Michelle knew that Sarah was just being funny but it was still cute.

Once they were in the car Sarah asked, "How was your date with that bartender?"

`Uh oh,' Michelle thought. She decided it was time she told the truth. "I didn't actually have a date," she said slowly.

"Oh I thought that's what you said when you left the meeting in such a rush," Sarah questioned.

"Well to be honest that was the first excuse I could think of. I just really needed to get out of there, I don't know what it was," Michelle said this to the dashboard.

"Oh avoiding me now?" Sarah joked as she laughed it off.

Soon they got to the theater and bought their tickets to the movie. They decided to split a popcorn and drink combo, Michelle waited for the food while Sarah went for a pre movie pee. Michelle went to the theater they were in and saw Sarah sitting at the very back; the darkest part of the theater which meant the most private.

"Hope you don't mind sitting up here, it's my favourite place to sit when I go to the movies," Sarah said.

Michelle sat beside her; she put the drink between them and she held the popcorn in her lap. The two girls laughed at the previews. When the lights went down low, Michelle realized she was treating this like it was a date. But this wasn't like any other date she had ever been on; there was less pressure and she didn't feel like all Sarah wanted was to get in her pants.

During the movie when they were ¾ done the bag of popcorn, Sarah and Michelle both reached for a handful at the same time. When their hands touched, Michelle felt her clit swell a little. She was turned on just by accidentally touching Sarah's hand and this terrified her. She took her hand out so quickly and looked at Sarah. All Sarah did was smile at her and eat her handful of popcorn. Michelle felt ridiculous, something that was so small felt like the world and Sarah didn't even seem to notice.

Sarah felt her hand touch Michelle's at the bottom of the popcorn bag and she wanted to hold her hand through the rest of the movie. But instead she just smiled and tried to concentrate on the movie.

The movie was funny, but the tension was not. Sarah was overwhelmed by the sexual tension that was between her and Michelle. She was sure that Michelle wanted her as badly as she wanted her. But she was starting to realize that maybe Michelle wasn't ready for whatever reason.

After the movie, they went out to Sarah's cavalier and headed home. They joked about the movie which they had both enjoyed. Sarah made the decision to walk Michelle to her door when they got to her house.

"Well thanks for taking me out," Michelle said as a joke.

They said their goodnights and hugged. A long hug that definitely lasted too long and as they were pulling away Michelle looked into Sarah's eyes and kissed her cheek. It was a lingering kiss that sent tingles from Michelle's lips to her toes. Once she fully realized that she had just made a very flirty move on another girl she panicked. Quickly she released from the hug and said another `goodbye' and went inside.
