The Knocking

Almost nightly for the past two months, Jarrod had been awakened at between 2:30 and 3:00 in the morning by a soft but incessant knocking at his bedroom window, a window some twenty feet from the ground, being on the first floor of the old house. His searching for whoever was knocking drew a blank every time, there was never anyone there, until....

Chapter 1 -- Incessant Taps

It had started some two months ago at about 2:30 in the morning, Jarrod being awakened by soft, incessant taps at his bedroom window. The tapping had continued until he arose from his bed and approached the curtains at his window, but stopped as he nervously drew them aside. He had opened his window and searched the roof around the gable window for any signs of anyone who might be responsible but his searching eyes found nothing, nothing whatever, there was no sign of anyone or anything. Jarrod was seventeen, a fairly tall, slim youth who loved everything life had to offer. He had his friends, his loving family, but his greatest joy was this old house his parents had bought some five years ago. It was old and offered plenty of opportunities for Jarrod to explore, his favourite place being the attic, a large dusty space beneath the roof full of crevices to discover. His explorations had him discover many things of interest, old books, a small chest of old artefacts, photographs and even, on one occasion, an old jewel box containing a very expensive necklace and bracelet combination which he had presented to his mother. She had been surprised but hadn't accepted the find, telling him instead to keep it, possibly even sell it later down the track. His family never knew, he didn't want them to, but the attic was the place he took his intimate boyfriends whenever they needed some time together for pleasure. There were two of them, Joey and Lucas, both about the same height and build as Jarrod, both very good looking boys, the trait that had attracted Jarrod in the first instance. He'd been intimate with Joey for some two years, both of them enjoying like pleasures, but he'd only fairly recently met Lucas, the one who had introduced him to anal, something he now enjoyed almost before anything else. He'd tried it with Joey a couple of months after Lucas had introduced him to the pleasure and Joey appeared to like it, but still preferred their usual ways of kissing, sucking and slipping their cocks between each others legs. This was acceptable to Jarrod, he didn't want to rock the boat at any price with Joey, they were far too close for that to happen. He was content to go their usual way and leave the rather more heavy actions to Lucas. His first thought when the knocking started, had him believe it was one or other of his boyfriends, awaking in the early hours, horny, and travelling to his place for some relief. Indeed he had performed with both his guys in his bedroom before when they had stayed over so they both knew where his room was, the only problem being, how would they climb up there? It was at least twenty feet from the ground and there were no trees anywhere near the place. As it happened, Joey was to stay with him the coming weekend and they'd made plans to use the attic on at least one occasion. The other times, they could wait until his folks and brother had gone to bed then indulge in their pleasures on his bed, something they were both looking forward to greatly. Thursday morning early, Jarrod again heard the soft tapping at his window. His eyes opened blearily and he stared at his alarm clock; 2:52 am. The tapping continued, softly but incessantly, Jarrod finally getting out of bed and approaching his drawn curtains to find out if he could see anyone this time. As usual, as he drew close to the window, the tapping stopped, Jarrod opening the curtains and the window in order to search the roof yet again. This was crazy, how could there be tapping on his window and yet there be no one there? How the hell could any one get up here anyway? There was certainly nothing handy to climb on or up. This had gone on for too long now, almost nightly for the last two months, there had to be some explanation, had to be someone doing it. Jarrod was just about to close his window when he heard a sound on the roof beside his gable window, a slight scraping as if someone's foot had slipped. The hair stood up on the back of his neck and he felt the chill of fear along his spine.

"Who's there?" He called softly, fearfully.

Silence; nothing, then again the soft scrape.

"Who's there?" Jarrod called again, this time with more force to his voice.

"Don't be afraid Jarrod." A soft teenage voice replied. "I'm not here to hurt you."

Don't be afraid, who was he kidding? "Who the fuck are you?" Jarrod demanded. "And what the fuck are you doing up there?"

"I've got to see you soon Jarrod." The voice continued. "Not tonight but soon, please don't be afraid."

What was it about that voice? Jarrod knew it's owner but for the life of him couldn't put a face to it. "I don't know who you are." He said forcefully. "But fuck off, leave me alone." A sudden thought struck him. "How'd you get up there anyway, and how do you know my name?"

"Soon Jarrod, soon."

Jarrod had begun climbing out of the window, something he'd done before when his mother had asked him to wash it. He knew as long as he held tightly to the barge board he'd be able to see whoever was there. He made his way warily to the edge, his hands clinging tightly to the barge board as his eyes peered around the side of the window. Nothing, there was no one there and certainly no way anyone could possibly climb the steep, slippery steel roof to hide elsewhere. Jarrod was totally perplexed. The next morning, Jarrod travelled to school as usual, still thinking of the strange occurrence. He knew the voice that had spoken to him, there was no doubt about that, he knew it well but still, no matter how hard he tried, he still could not put a name or a face to it. He didn't mention it to Joey, thinking it might put him off his visit tonight, and that was something he didn't want, he had plans for tonight, very sensual plans. The day passed slowly as school days usually do, same boring old subjects, same boring teachers. The only subject Jarrod enjoyed on Fridays was basic Biology and right now they were learning about reproduction, a subject he found fascinating. All those little tubes inside running from the balls to various other organs which, when stimulated made you cum. He loved cumming, there was no doubt about that, but he didn't really want to know how it happened; he just loved it when he did. As usual Joey and him spent a special weekend together after travelling back to Jarrod's home on the bus together, two hours on Saturday spent locked together in the attic, the evening, after his folks and brother had gone to bed, being spent stroking, cuddling, butt squeezing, sucking and kissing on his bed for a couple of hours before sleep intervened. There were no further disturbances, no tapping on his window for the entire time they were together, Jarrod thinking maybe these events had stopped owing to the other night. Monday saw the pair travel back to school on the bus spending the day together, Monday to Wednesday both attending the same studies. A couple of times during the day, Jarrod saw Lucas but wasn't able to get close enough for a conversation as he was busy with his studies. Even during the lunch break they were unable to converse as Lucas had ground duties in his position as school vice captain. Lucas didn't know what Jarrod and Joey did together, just thinking them good friends, even though he would have loved a crack at Joey himself, finding him almost irresistible. In like fashion, Joey didn't know about Jarrod and Lucas but knew he'd love to get Lucas with him sometime for some experimentation. It was simply something they both wished for but had never got around to finding out about. Monday night passed peacefully for Jarrod, no tapping, no noises whatever, but Tuesday night, or Wednesday morning early was a different story. The tapping started again, Jarrod's eyes finding it was 2:56 am. He blearily made his way to the window, immediately throwing open the curtains and the window; seeing nothing. Again he heard the soft scrape against the roof next to his window, again he called out.

"Who's there? For fuck sake who's there?"

"It's me again Jarrod." Came the soft reply. "Don't you remember my voice."

Jarrod thought on that one, the voice sounded so familiar. Who the hell did it belong to? "I know the voice but I can't remember who it belongs to." He admitted.

"Go back in your room Jarrod, I'll come to your window so you can see me."

Jarrod stepped two paces back into his room, slightly fearful of what would be revealed. He heard the soft scraping as whoever it was moved from his position, apparently walking on the roof with ease. With an unexpected suddenness, the owner of the soft voice was suddenly at the window, dressed in gear any teenager would normally be seen in. "Hi Jarrod."

Jarrod staggered back into his room, his mind turning cartwheels, this was not possible, how could this be, he must be dreaming.

"Don't you recognise me Jarrod?" The handsome face grinned. "I don't think I've changed at all."

Jarrod attempted to speak but his vocal cords were paralysed. He didn't believe what his eyes were registering before him.

"Well come on man, say something." The teen said, smiling.

"Urggghhh!" Was all Jarrod could manage, his vocal cords refusing to work.

The teen laughed softly. "Sorry, but I didn't think I'd have that effect on you. We were good friends a couple of years ago.

Finally Jarrod's vocal cords unlocked themselves. "Corey, argh fuck man... Corey, but you're... you're..."

Corey smiled yet again. "Well, aren't you going to ask me in?"

Jarrod staggered back to his bed as Corey climbed slowly through the window, standing still as Jarrod sat like a statue on his bed, still staring. "But you're... ah shit man, how can this be?"

"We were close friends, right?" Corey asked.

"Yeah... but..."

"Well, I didn't know the way you were, and you didn't know the way I was back then." Corey explained. "Lucas was also my friend, no... more than my friend if you get my drift, and now he's doing with you what he was doing with me." He grinned. "And very enjoyably I might add."

"This isn't real." Jarrod was still in shock. "You... you were drowned two years ago at Maginot Beach; shit Corey, I attended your funeral."

"Can I sit next to you on the bed Jarrod." Corey requested. "I think I've got some explaining to do."

"Y-yeah man." Jarrod replied, recovering slightly. "Was that you knocking on my window for the last two odd months?"

"Yeah, sorry about that." Corey replied. "I had to get to talk to you but I didn't know how, or how you'd take it."

Jarrod visibly sagged; this was too much all at once.

"OK, here goes." Corey began. "Yeah, I was drowned two years ago. Back then I held attractions for you like nothing else, there's nothing I wouldn't have done with you, but you didn't know that, and I wasn't sure about you. I'd been doing it with Lucas for six months before it happened, the drowning that is, and we enjoyed our times together; we were the closest of friends. I suppose after the drowning happened, seeing I had strong feelings for you, when Lucas and you started doing it I just had to get to see you somehow, anyhow. I just had to show you how much I cared for you back then."

Jarrod sat on his bed disbelieving of what was happening and what was being said. This was almost like a dream except it was even more incredible than a dream; the most incredible thing to ever have happened to him in fact. He sat staring unashamedly at Corey as he explained.

"The first time Lucas took you, as he used to love taking me, I sensed it. That was my boy taking another of my friends in the same intimate fashion. I wasn't angry, don't get me wrong, I wasn't even disappointed, I was more happy that he'd seen fit to take you instead of someone I hadn't known. When you took him back after his turn, it was then I knew I had to somehow let you know I was more than happy with the situation, two of my best friends being intimate together."

Jarrod continued staring, there was something Corey wasn't saying.

Corey grinned again displaying his perfect teeth. "Yeah, you're right Jarrod. I didn't know about you and Joey then either. He's another one I was totally attracted to."

Jarrod was still stumped. "So what now Corey, what happens now?"

"I'm really unsure." Corey replied. "I don't think Lucas would take it as well as you did if I let him see me and I hardly knew Joey, more's the pity. Unfortunately, Lucas is no longer an option and the same goes for Joey, I still love Lucas but attempting to get him to understand is totally out of the question. So that leaves you, you and me. Did you ever hold any attraction to me Jarrod?"

Jarrod stared unashamedly into Corey's soft, brown eyes for several moments. "Yeah Corey, I did, but there was no way back then I could have let you know. Shit man, this whole thing is way beyond me. You've got to tell me, how did you get up here, and where have you been? I mean you guys don't hide, I guess it goes way beyond that."

Corey's eyes travelled to the floor; his voice soft as he spoke. "I can't explain that to you Jarrod, well, I could but you'd never understand. It's something to do with dimensions but it's very complicated, I'm only just beginning to come to terms with it myself."

"So what now?" Jarrod asked. "What happens between us now?"

Corey looked directly into his eyes and smiled his soul-melting smile. "Well, that's up to you Jarrod."

"Can you still... um... do things?" Jarrod asked.

In part reply, Corey reached out and took Jarrod's hand in his, placing it on his shoulder. "Feel for yourself Jarrod, make up your own mind."

Jarrod ran his hand softly over the shoulder, down the left arm, across the left thigh finally stopping on the slim, shapely knee. Well, if he was still as cool inside his clothing as he was outside, there certainly wouldn't be any problems. His eyes travelled back to Corey's. "So you... um... you think you... um... want to?"

"I don't have to think anymore Jarrod." Corey replied. "I knew the first time I tapped on your window."

Jarrod watched as Corey stood, removing his jumper and t-shirt, revealing the well remembered definition and deep tan on his chest and shoulders from his surfing. It certainly hadn't changed, Jarrod feeling a renewed longing for his past friend. "Shit Corey, you're just as horny as I remember you, jeez man, you've got my hormones in an uproar." Being a warm night, Jarrod was wearing only a pair of light boxer shorts and these were removed in short order, Corey's eyes locked to his slim, defined body and perfect legs; and what jutted from his groin.

"Now I know why I had the hots for you back then." Corey said. "Jeez Jarrod, you're hot man."

Jarrod sat back on the bed, closely followed by Corey, their eyes locked together, their bodies close. Neither knew what the rest of the night held, neither really cared; all that mattered for the moment was that Corey had found Jarrod again, two former good friends who would probably, very soon become lovers.
