This story is new book based upon my previous series entitled Love, Unconventionally. http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/phoenix-writing Prologue In the beginning, over a million years ago, there was fire and ice. At the dawn of the Rigellian Empire, was one man. Pharaoh Kizzyu the second was born on the planet Colony V. Much like the British royal family of Earth, the first Pharaoh came to his crown by way of marriage. His use of “the second” was due to the fact that on his planet of Colony V, there had previously been a Pharaoh Kizzyu the first – his father. So on the day of his inauguration as the Pharaoh of a number of planets that all had separate crowns worn by one person, Kizzyu proclaimed into law one constitution, one Pharaoh, one Queen, and one Leffe (parliament) to govern all. Many of the institutions that pre-dated the Empire from member planets remained – they could generally govern themselves, much like a sate of the United States, but in the end, everything answered to the duality – that of the Pharaoh, and his Queen. The lower house of the Leffe was called the House of Responsibility, with its members elected from amongst the population, the membership proportional to the population of the Empire. The upper house of the Leffe was termed the House of Representatives, with its members elected by proportional representation. While political parties were certainly present in the Leffe, no one wished the displeasure of the duality, or crown as the more common term was. Unlike in the Westminster system, the government is appointed at the sole pleasure of the crown, and need not represent the party with the most seats. The Empire is, after all, an absolute monarchy, and the Leffe sits at the pleasure of the duality. And so these basic institutions and instruments of government would remain for over a million years. During the Empire's first year, war came to be. Displeasure was high amongst the five planets that formed the Empire. Neither trusted each other, and supernatural forces seemed to come down from above. Everyone though the Empire would crack, and fall. However, one man prevented its downfall, and since the day of founding, has protected it. That man is the legendary warrior.
