The Problem With Milo, Chapter 5

It was finally our turn at the In-N-Out drive-thru window, and exactly as Milo and I figured, Rob was right there waiting for us at the half-door. From what I could see, he had this sour, worried look on his face, completely different than the happy grin he usually wore for all of his friends.

Like I said before, Rob was my other best bud and senior member of our Grove crew. I'd known him forever, and he'd helped me out of a jam or two in the past. Plus, he was the only person to get me out of a funk, because a lot of times I could be a real Debbie Downer. Still, I had no idea what he'd say to me once he found out I was gay and hanging with Milo.

After a long second of starring at us, he finally said quietly, "Hey guys," and leaned way down tilting his head to the side so he could see me clearly over in the passenger-side seat. "Mason, how come you're not driving your car? You okay? You never let anyone drive your car. And who's this guy?"

"Rob, this is Milo. Milo, Rob," I said, introducing them.

"Hey, dude," Milo said, and reached out with his hand for a friendly fist bump.

Rob just stood there, looking back and forth between us. Maybe they weren't allowed to touch the customers or something in case it would contaminate the food. I didn't really know what was up.

"You remember Milo. Shortstop Milo? He lives down the street from me. Thought you guys knew each other, but I guess not..." I trailed off.

After a second, Rob said, "Oh, yeah, now I recognize you, Milo. I don't think I've ever seen you without your baseball cap. So Mason, you okay? Too wasted to drive or something?"

"No, no. Nothing like that. Just tired, is all."

"Oh, yeah? Tell me about it," he said, still leaning over the door until he got a sharp nudge, hard to the ribs from a lanky African American co-worker. He shook his head and said, "Um, sorry. That's gonna be $14.83. Don't work here," he whispered the last part at us. "You can't slack off. They'll catch you every time."

"I got this. No worries, dude," Milo said, as he pulled out his wallet from his back pocket.

"Fine with me." It was totally cool to have somebody else pay for a change. It felt like a real date now. My crew is super tight, and just like driving, I usually end up paying most of the time since I worked the most and seemed to always have cash on me.

"So, um, what are you guys doing later?" Rob asked when he came back, handing Milo his seventeen cents. "I heard there's a rockin' party at Scudder's house later on, after the football game's over, which," he said, looking at a clock somewhere in the small red and white building, "should be over about now."

"We're gonna chill tonight. Totally hungry after a crazy night working at the market," I said. "I can't speak for Milo here, but I'm too tired for one of Scudder's insane parties. They seem to get out of control all the time, and I don't want to mess with the police. Know what I'm sayin'?"

"Oh, yeah. I hear you. You eating in the car?" Rob asked as he tried to stick some lap mats in the window.

"Actually, no," Milo answered with a smirky grin and handed the mats back to Rob. "Can you bag it for us? We're gonna look at the lights from up on the Overlook while we eat. It's so clear out tonight you can probably see the space station. Don't want to miss the view." When he said the last part, Milo looked over at me and rested his strong palm on my thigh again. He didn't even appear to be doing it consciously, and that made me smile. It was so comforting, I could probably stay like this forever.

"Yeah?" I asked, surprised to be going up to the Overlook. Milo seemed to be full of surprises. Because I was so whipped I totally forgot we were going to mess with Rob. Eventually, I finally got it, and thought, fuck it. "Oh, yeah! We are. The view. Space. It's awesome, least that's what I hear." Boy did I sound like an asshat.

"Oh, um, sure. Sure. Be right back," Rob said, turning around to check on our food. From what little I could see, it looked like Rob's face was flushed, but maybe not from seeing Milo's hand on my leg. I wasn't completely sure.

"You are so evil," I said to Milo. "What if I said something about you and me going up to the Overlook to one of your baseball dudes? Or better yet, how about if I told Coach Johnson you palmed my woody today in the pool?"

"Oh, wow. Hadn't thought of it like that. Yeah, that might not be such a great idea. Well, to be perfectly honest, Coach might like it, to tell you the truth. He's kinda touchy-feely, and looks at us weird in the showers sometimes when he's handing out towels. He'll punch you in the nuts when the mood strikes him, to make sure you're wearing your cup. Anyway, sorry about that. You aren't mad, are you? I mean, I guess I would be..."

"Chill, dude. It's all good. Just giving you shit. I'm sure the look on Rob's face was sick and totally worth it." I said. "I never, ever, get to pull crap on Rob. That was da kine."

"Yeah, it was kinda funny, or whatever you just said. Hey, um, Mase, I do want to go up to the Overlook with you, but only if you're okay with it," Milo said quietly, and shot me a super-sexy-shy look. "It's still kind of early, right? And we can mess around in the car...I mean, shit! There's lot's we can do up there. I've been thinking that maybe, like you said earlier, we shouldn't do the big nasty until we know we won't be interrupted, and we can take our time to do it right. Cass still has the key to my uncle's house and knowing her, and I know she'd totally love to bounce in on us again."

"I concur, dude. I've been thinking about that too, taking our time. And yeah, when we do `it', it should be some time when we know we're alone, and it's private and we can make it...uh, super sexy? Ya know?"

"Right!" Milo said, all excited. "I concur!" That made us both laugh.

"Anyway, unlike the rest of my family, I've never been up there so this will be another first for me today," I said, wiggling my toes, super-stoked that this day might actually end up with some more blazing hot boy-on-boy sex with this sizzlin' baseball jock sitting here in my car next to me.

"Awesome!"

"Here's your food, guys," Rob interrupted, looking all business. "Mason, I get a ten-minute break starting right now, so if you have a sec, can you pull around up front? Real quick. I need to ask you something. It's important. Won't take long, I promise."

"Yeah, we can do that," Milo answered for me, taking charge. "Make it fast, okay? I don't like cold fries."

"Sure," Rob said, looking over at his co-worker, "Danita, I'll be right back." He flipped the bottom half of the Dutch door open and followed us out as we drove into the microscopic parking lot. Luckily, most folks were in their cars, and hardly anybody was standing around. The few that were, were totally intent, eagerly anticipating their yummy meal from the walk-up window.

"Milo, can you hang for a sec?" I asked, opening the door and partially climbing out. "I don't know what Rob wants to talk about, it's probably best if you're not standing right there next to me. I'm pretty sure it's gonna include the word gay. Gay, gay, gay. Ugh," I groaned. "I won't be more than a minute or two. I promise."

"Yeah, that's cool. Just hurry. I only said that about the cold fries to get him moving. What I want is to get some alone time with you. Seriously, I've been dreaming about you all day, buddy, and I totally want to make out with you again," he said, giving me a lecherous look, and reaching over to give my hand a sharp squeeze. Made me hot. Way hot!

"I know, right? Me too. All this talk about gay, and we've hardly even taken it out for a test drive yet. Okay. Be right back." I climbed the rest of the way out the door and walked over to where Rob was standing on the curb, trying to light up a cigarette. Unfortunately for him, it was too breezy and his cheap lighter kept going out. That was fine with me. I hated cigarette smoke, not a surprise since my mom smokes like a gas chamber.

"You need to stop doing that," I said, walking up to him. "I'm sure girls don't like kissing an ashtray."

He ignored me, and instead put the cigarette back in its box. Score one for me. He looked over at my car and shot Milo a cold stare, and asked me, "Seriously, dude, what are you two doing together? Since when do you hang with jocks like him? I don't trust jocks, and I don't like them much either. And letting him drive your car? Dude. What's up with that? You never let anyone drive your car, let alone me."

"It's nothing, actually. His sister dropped him off after work so we could hang out a little. Get something to eat, maybe. That's all." I knew that was a stretch, but I was starting to get steamed. "What? I can't make a new friend?"

"Of course you can. Just not with him." Rob said flatly. "I don't like him."

"Huh? Why the fuck not?"

"I heard he's trouble. Him and his baseball buddies. Not cool. And seriously, Mason, why is he driving your car?"

"I told you already. I'm beat. And he's a nice guy. I like hanging with him," I said. "Seriously, what's your problem? Are you jealous for some reason?"

"No, of course not. Seems weird to me is all. Looks like you guys are out on a date. And he put his hand on your leg! What the fuck was that about? That was sketchy, dude. And kinda faggy."

"Faggy? What the hell do you care?"

"Well..."

"Will you stop already? Truth?" I asked. I was so done with this. All I wanted right now was to get back in the car, eat my burger and then make out with Milo.

"Yeah, of course truth. You know that."

"It is, `faggy', like you said."

"Huh? What exactly are you saying? Oh, shit. No way!" Rob yelled. "No fucking way you're gay."

"Yeah, way."

"No fucking way! You? Uh-uh. No. Dude, you are so not gay," Rob reprimanded. "No fucking way!"

"Way! I am too gay," I said, starting to giggle a little at the absurdity of this. "Or fucking gay, since you like to say fucking so much." I could only hope that no one heard me because if someone did, it'd probably be posted on Facebook in the next two seconds.

"Since when are you gay?" he asked, a dumbfounded look in his eyes.

"Um, I guess about ten or eleven hours now."

"WHAT? How? Why? Oh, man, I don't believe it. Is he gay too?"

"Geez, when did you become so stupid? That's for him to answer, if you're so interested," I said. "If it's so important to you, you should probably ask him yourself so you can be totally sure. That way you can log it into your journal tonight. Anyway, why do you care?"

"I don't care about him. I do care about you, you know. You're my best bud. Holy fuck, Mase! You're not gay. You don't look or act gay. Him either."

"Dude, now you're being ridiculous. I can't believe you, of all people, believe that ignorant bullshit stereotype. Does Michael Sam look gay?"

"Who's he?"

"Forget it. We're done here. I gotta go."

I turned to head back to the car when Rob grabbed the shoulder of my shirt and spun me backward. "Wait a minute. I thought we didn't have any secrets. Remember when we made that pact when we were like eight? That's why I'm so pissed. What's up with that? Aren't you my best friend?" Rob asked. "Why didn't you tell me earlier? You shoulda told me first."

"Yeah, of course you're my best friend. Both you and Izzy. The three of us have been best buds since like, I don't know, forever, I guess."

"Yeah, that's right, but, but," he took a deep breath and started again. "So why didn't you come to me? Honestly, I don't care if you want to fuck a guy or a girl or even a goat. It doesn't matter to me where you stick your Jimmy Dean. I want you to be happy. Seriously! Dude. You should have told me! I could have been there for you. I coulda been a sounding board – like when I helped you out like with your family shit. This is too big a deal to keep all to yourself."

"Yeah, well, maybe. I'm not sure how you could have helped this time. This was different. It's not like that ridiculous shit I went through a few years ago, you know? And I've told you a million times thanks for your help with that. Like I said before, this was different and I had to sort it out all by myself."

He stood there for a second, and let out a deep breath. "Yeah, okay, I guess I get it." The anger or jealousy or whatever he was feeling seemed to drain out of him all of a sudden, thankfully, and now he looked somewhat remorseful. "Look, Mason, I'm here for you. All in. Always have been. You know that. Next time, just give me a heads up, okay?"

"Sure. Thanks. That means a lot. Although, it doesn't make it any easier to talk about. So...Yeah. I don't have any secrets from you, except for this one, which wasn't a secret because I only figured it out myself recently," I said.

"So you are on a date," he said with an almost smile. "I would never have pictured you two together, but I guess he is kinda hot, for a guy."

"Okay, well...yeah. We are sort of on a date, truth be told. Milo picked me up after work." I was going to say more, but I stopped, deciding instead to gauge his reaction. It still bugged me that I couldn't figure out what his problem was with Milo and me, and I was hoping he'd tell me.

Rob stared at me for what seemed like forever, and surprisingly his face cracked a wicked smile. He reached over and gave me a hug, a big, rib-cracking hug trapping my arms against my sides. I shook my head, wondering what was up with all these crazy hugs today. Hugs were something our crew never did much of, except of course, for Rocky. She was a big-time hugger. She'd hug you hello, hug you goodbye, hug you because she was on her period, or hug for no reason at all. Still, it was all good. But these hugs today were somehow different.

"If this is what you want, I'm all for it. Love ya, bud, you know that, right?" he said, releasing me.

"Of course I do. And I love you, too, bro," I said, quietly relieved this wasn't going to turn out to be some big shouting match in the parking lot.

"He's a baseball jock," Rob whined quietly, looking over at my car again. "He's hot, yeah, but he'll love you and leave you, dude. That's how jocks are. Who's that basketball dude that had like two million women? He's gonna be like that when he gets to the major leagues."

"Dude, there is no man alive that could do two million people in a lifetime," I said, "even Bill Cosby with the help of his Quaaludes. That's like, an urban legend or something. Anyway, who said he's going to the majors?"

"Whatever. You get what I'm saying, right? Jocks can have anyone they want. Anyone! Anytime, anywhere, anyplace. He'll fuck you and spit you out like used Skoal."

"So what? Are you saying I'm not good enough for him? Maybe he wants me. Only me. You know, maybe you're pissed because you think he's like you, porking any girl that comes your way. He's not like that."

"Shut up. This isn't about me. That would be totally awesome if he's serious about you. So cool. And I'd totally embrace it. But what if it's not like that?" Rob asked. "Are you sure he's a hundred percent gay and not messing with you? What if he's playing you? I'm only looking out for you here. I don't want to see you get hurt."

"I thought of that, dude, I really did. And, well, yeah, he could be playing me, only I don't think so. And so what? Who cares? Right now, it's just...um, not real sure what this is. A hot mash-up, maybe? Does it even matter at this point? Anyway, he's not like that," I said. "It's not like I'm going to marry him when I turn eighteen in a couple of weeks."

"My sister says otherwise about jocks. She dated a few in her day, before she settled down. And I'll tell ya, she got screwed every time, and not in a good way."

"Sorry for Sandy, if she got burned. She's got nothing to do with this, so stop changing the fucking subject. This is a one-time thing, since Milo has to move in a couple of months to the Middle East. I can deal with that. Seriously. Everybody's first time isn't the one they're with for the rest of their freakin' lives. Right? All I want is a hot hook-up. A. Hot. Torrid. Affair. A one-time thing. I'm too young for forever."

"I get it," Rob said, trying to placate himself. "But you know, I'd take forever," he said quietly, "if I could meet `the right one'."

"You say that, and maybe that's good for you. See, dude, for me, it's not about that right now. I don't have any expectations of what this is, and that's what makes it all right. Why is this any different than what you and Izzy do hooking up with random girls? That's all I want right now – except with a guy like Milo. And you! You of all people, shouldn't categorize peeps. I surf, and you smoke and wear magic purple underwear. Everybody's different – you should know that."

"If all you want is to get laid, we can help you find a nice twink or a friendly bear if you're into that. You don't need to be some jock's bitch. Hell, One-Eye's sister knows this brainiac who's too shy to find a guy on his own. He's got a few zits and wears thick glasses, but they say he has a killer booty. She'd hook you up in a second."

"Dude! Seriously? You're kinda pissing me off here. And honestly, what exactly do you know about bears and twinks and some random geek's booty? Maybe there's something more you wanna share? You're being a complete asshole here." I was starting to get steamed again.

"All right already. Sorry. Well, to be truthful, I don't know much about any of this gay stuff. It's just, we were talking this one time at the Grove, and..."

"Save it," I interrupted, holding up my hand. "I know all about the bet. What I didn't know was that you guys talk too fucking much about me behind my back. That wasn't cool, Rob. Not cool at all. You guys are supposed to be my friends. Now you're starting to sound like one of those bitches on Springer."

"You know about the bet? Oh shit," he said. "Who told you? Rocky?"

"No, dumbass, it was the little rainbow fairy that flounced through the window into my room early this morning, threw a handful of purple glitter all over me to wake me up and said in the cutest little voice, `Behold, newbie faggot Mason, here's everything you need to know, and now, go forth and fuck men!'"

"Stop, Mason. That's not you, talking like that. I get you're pissed, all right? Chill with the attitude already."

"No dude, it's your turn to stop. I know all about it and what you guys did. And I wasn't happy when I found out, I'll tell you that. Ask Izzy. He's lucky he can walk. I'm mostly over it now, so no worries," I said. "Just don't ever fucking do that again."

"Way harsh, dude. Please don't be pissed, Mason, please. It's only because we care about you, that's all. Seriously. Face it! You're the only one of us that hasn't gone out with anybody. We were trying to figure out how we could help you out. Truly. You always seem so lonely and sad. We only want you to be happy. That's all. All of us, Rocky, Izzy, One Eye, Dimey, we all love you, man. We honestly do."

"Whatever. Like I said, I'm not pissed anymore, although I am disappointed, dude. What you guys did was whack."

"Okay. You're right. I get it now. It was a bad idea and we shouldn't have done it. We'll make it up to you. I promise. I'm sorry. Truly. I guess we got caught up in it. I love you, bud, I do. And it's not just me. It's the whole crew. We want you to be happy. You're a great guy and you deserve the best. And not that I'm gay or anything, but Milo over there is hot, big ears and all. You guys look good together. So get out of here. We'll talk and catch up soon, and work this out, okay? We'll set this straight, or unstraight, or bi or whatever. We'll make it right. I promise. I'm here for the long haul."

"All right, agreed. I guess I'll catch you later." I knuckle bumped him and he gave me a quick bro hug, then I headed back to the car.

Milo was eyeing at me with a questioning look, but didn't say anything other than, "You okay?"

"Sure. Let's roll. I'm so tired of hugs and shit. It's too weird, all these heated discussions and PDA's," I said. "PDA's with you are cool, but can we please not have any more drama and arguments with friends, at least for tonight?"

"Yeah. I'll do my best. Awesome about the PDA's, though," he said with a smile that took over his whole face. I so dug that look! "You still up for the Overlook?"

"Hell, yeah! Let's go. I'm starving too," I laughed as I reached over and squeezed his leg, swiping a couple of hot fries on my way back.

"I'm on it. We'll be there in no time." I didn't doubt that. It hadn't taken Milo very long to get the hang of shifting my car, and we were starting to zoom along. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Milo asked, "Devil's advocate for a minute?"

"Shit! Do we have to? I'm too tired for that right now. Oh, all right. Bring it on, if you must."

"I must, I must. Suppose when you came out to all these people, on your own terms, and they didn't react? How would you feel about that? I mean, so far, everyone's been receptive, and everything seems great. So what if it was a non-event? Like, no hugs, no questions, no nothing, just something like `oh, that's nice' and then they go back to whatever they were doing? How would you feel about that?"

"That's a good question," I said, turning down the volume on the stereo. If I heard one more second of `Shut Up and Dance' by Walk the Moon, I was pretty sure I was going to hurl all over our burgers. "Give me a minute to think about that." I plugged my phone into the stereo's port and started to play some Seasick Steve from my playlist.

"Sure. Take all the time you need. Just wondering, is all," he said as he tapped his hand absentmindedly on the shifter in time with the beat. Obviously, he liked this guy's tunes.

I stuffed my mouth with some more fries, and swiped a couple of Milo's animal style fries too. They were delicious, and I'd have to get them that way next time. As I munched away, I pondered what he asked. Interestingly enough, it made me think about this whole thing differently.

"You know," I said after a while, "I'm not sure why this bugs me so much. First of all, why does everybody have to give you a freakin' hug once you say you're gay? I mean, hugs like that are for when you find out someone beat cancer or won the Mega lotto or some other earth-shattering shit like that. I don't know. Maybe it's me. My family doesn't do hugs. Shit, I don't even remember my dad kissing my mom, let alone giving her a hug. Maybe I'm making too big a deal out of this."

"I don't think it's that. Mase, don't take this the wrong way. Maybe hugs and coming out are two different things," he said, as he took a left up Riley Canyon Drive.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, hugs are hugs, and coming out is coming out," he said as he shifted through the gears and sliced through the curves. "Maybe with you, because you have so many great friends and everything, they're happy for you, you know, and all they want is the best for you. I'm sure the guys on my team aren't going to be giving me hugs and kisses anytime soon. Maybe your friends are happy because you learned something intensely important about yourself that frees you from carrying around a bunch of bullshit baggage. Maybe those hugs aren't anything more than they support you no matter what. And maybe this is their way of getting that through your thick head?"

"Hey! Who says I have a thick head?" I asked.

"I do. We're not all that different, you and me. Look how long it took me to be here with you."

"Yeah, well maybe. You're the one with the thick head, though. You should take that ball cap off more often so your brain can chill for a second and shrink back down," I joked, trying to lighten up the mood. "It's stunting your growth, too."

"This coming from the surfer guy who wears a beanie to school every day."

"Fuck you. I do not!" He was right, though. I usually did. "I just wish it was a non-event, because honestly, where I stick my dick is nobody's business but mine. So let me get this straight. Um, dude! Look out for that – too late."

"Sorry," he said sheepishly. "I don't think it hurt anything."

"No worries. You can wash the squirrel guts off my car when we get home. So back to what I was saying. Where was I?"

"You were talking about squirrel guts," he said.

"No, you dork, before that."

"Something about sticking your dick someplace," Milo laughed.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry. I forgot what I was saying. I'm so tired I can't think straight. Or gay. So, um, where do you want to park? Have you been up here before?"

"Only once, and it was during the day. This one time my friends and I came up here to meet some girls. Actually, they were meeting them. As usual, I was the odd man out and just along for the ride. But the girls never showed, so we started exploring. There's some sweet trails up here that wind past the avocado orchards to some great lookouts."

"That sounds cool. Not many people let the public on their property around here. You're lucky you guys didn't get shot."

"I know. This old guy saw us and waved at us. How cool is that? I think he might have been checking us out. Anyway, one trail even goes all the way back a few miles to some hot springs."

"Cool. More skinny dipping, huh?" I asked.

"I guess. It's like six or eight miles, though. Not sure I want to do that tonight," he said, pulling up to a wide, sandy spot that looked down at the sparkling lights of the valley, and the midnight ocean and twinkling oil rigs beyond. The view was spectacular from up here.

"Maybe during the day, I guess. That might be cool. I thought it would be more crowded up here. Where is everybody? I heard this place should be jammin' for a Friday night."

"Guess everybody's at the football game," he said, powering down the windows to let in the cool breeze, and shut off the car. "This is nice, huh?"

"Yeah, it sure is. Thanks again, Milo, for, well, everything."

"You got it," he smiled, and even in the moonlight, I could see his beautiful green eyes sparkle.

"Hungry? Want your burger now?" I asked.

"Actually, I'm hungry for a wiener."

"Told you we should have gone to Weinerschnitzel," I said.

"That's not the wiener I was thinking about."

"What are you talking about?" I asked, completely confused.

"Um, the wiener I want only comes with mayo."

"Huh?"

"Do I have to spell it out for you, Mase? I want to eat your wiener."

"Oh. Oh that wiener. Yeah?"

"Yeah. We can eat the burgers and fries later," he said.

"Sounds good to me. Um, Milo, this might sound weird, but can we kiss first? I totally like kissing you. It's way hot," I said shyly.

"Awesome! Me too."

"You like kissing yourself? How exactly do you do that?"

"Shut up, ya fool! You know what I mean," he said like he was Mr. T. "I'm just funnin' ya. Put the food in the backseat, and slide your seat all the way back. That'll give us more room."

"Check."

After we both got situated, we sort of sat there, quietly, waiting for the other to make the first move. I wasn't sure why I was so anxious all of a sudden. And he seemed to be too. I mean, we were all over each other earlier at his uncle's house and in the pool, and I wasn't edgy then. This seemed different somehow – more serious, I guess. At least that was what I was feeling.

"Nervous?" I asked quietly.

"Yeah, maybe. You?"

"Yeah me too. Don't know why though."

"Can I ask you something, Mase?" he asked.

"Sure."

He turned around noisily in his seat and put his hand lightly on my thigh again. The touch sent an electric shockwave of sexual current racing through my body. I could sense he was hesitating for some reason, and that made me even more nervous. After a minute of what I assumed was getting his thoughts together, he said, "Listen, Mason. I've been thinking about this. I really, really like you –"

"Uh, oh. I get scared when someone says my full name."

"No, don't worry. I think it's all good. Just let me say this, okay? Like I said, I like you. You're way hot, smart, and you're super-nice. You were all I could think about today, getting naked, doing this with you. What I was also thinking is that, well, this sounds weird..."

"It's cool, Milo. Spit it out," I said curtly. I had no idea what his problem was, and I was too thrashed for any more emotional drama today.

"Naw, forget it. I'm being stupid."

"No, you're not. Tell me what's on your mind," I said. "You don't have to dance around it. Speak your peace, boy."

"Well, grandpa, now that we're both pretty much out, I was hoping that maybe we could, I don't know how this would work, um, like could we be – this is gonna sound weird – but could we be exclusive or something?"

"What are you talking about?" I asked. "I don't understand."

"It seems to me that gay guys like to fuck around, well, not only gay guys, but all guys in general, you know, and well, I'm not like that. I was hoping that maybe we could be together, you know? Just me and you."

"Like boyfriends? So soon?" I asked.

"Well, yeah. Kinda, I guess. No! Oh, shit, I don't know. Not boyfriends exactly."

"Then what?"

"I don't know. All I know is that I want the next few weeks to be special for us, you know? Just you and me. No labels, okay? I want to do cool things with you besides..."

"Having sex," I answered for him.

"Yeah! Exactly. I mean, I want to have sex with you, hell yeah, but I want to do other stuff, too. Cool stuff."

"Like what?"

"Dates. Maybe go to a movie, or to a nice restaurant or something like that. You could even teach me to surf, and I can teach you to shoot. Is that okay?" Milo asked.

I blew out a deep breath. "I don't know. Rob said Rocky knew some bears and a couple of twinks that would be interested in me, and well, I think I should keep my options open, at least for now."

"Oh. Okay," he said sounding defeated and slumped back into his seat. "Well, if that's what you want. I never figured you wanting that type of guy, but..."

I instantly felt horrible for joking with him when he was trying to be so serious. "Relax, Milo. I'm messing with you. I'm sorry dude. Seriously. That was whack. Way whack. I shouldn't have joked like that. Honestly, I'm not interested in anybody other than you right now," I said, leaning forward and giving him a big smile.

"You motherfucker!"

"I know I am. I'm totally sorry. I shouldn't have done that. Sometimes I joke too much when I'm nervous. Seriously, Milo, there isn't anybody I'd rather be with right now than you. As weird as this day has been, I wouldn't change one single thing about it. I want to spend time with you. As much as we can. Don't get me wrong – I want to have sex too – like I said earlier, I like this part. You and me. Together, it's all good."

"Fuck yeah! I promise you'll never regret this. Ever!"

"Hey. Back up a sec. Did you just say shoot, as in guns?" I asked.

"Sure. Why?"

"Never knew anyone who did that. Might be cool."

"It will be. You'll like it. Plus, I get to wrap my arms around you in public when we go to the shooting range to teach you. How cool is that? So, are we good?"

"Yeah. Just one thing," I said. "Can we take this one day at a time and not get too caught up in it? Just in case ...I mean, we both know you're leaving soon, and if we can stay in the moment, I think it will be easier when the time comes for you to move away."

"Gotcha. Mase?"

"Yeah?"

"I so want to fucking kiss you right now."

"To use your words from earlier, my friend, why dontcha?" I moaned. I wanted nothing more than his kisses and warm touch all over me. The burgers could wait.

Giving me his super-sexy trademark smile, he stared right at me as he brushed a stray lock of hair from my forehead, pushing it behind my ear as he leaned in and slowly pressed his pillowy-red lips to mine, putting one of his strong hands on my leg and wrapping the other hand behind my head. He pulled me tight, and roughly parted my lips with his hot, penetrating tongue. If I could have, I would have melted right into him.

Pressing forward into him, I met his challenge and started to run my tongue around the inside of his mouth, and over his velvety tongue. It was hot, way hot, and I was glad the windows were open to cool us off. I used my free hand to reach up, and in a bold move for me, unbuttoned his shirt so I could run my palm over his tight abs. They were taut and muscular from his years working out to play ball.

Breaking for air for a moment, Milo shifted around a couple of inches so that he was staring into my face again. "So good, man," he whispered, "so good. You got me all boned up, Mase."

I didn't respond, and instead pushed forward again and sucked his bottom lip between my own, while moving my hand up and starting rubbing his hard nipple between my fingers. He felt so freakin' wonderful in my hands and in my mouth. We stayed that way for a bit, tasting and rubbing on each other in the small confines of my car. The only sounds were our moans of pleasure and the crickets chirping outside, cheerfully egging us on. I totally dug it, and didn't want it to stop.

But then he changed up this dynamic, and made a sharp grab for my crotch. I was rock-hard – duh! – and his inexperienced grip on my tackle felt awesome. He squeezed and twisted my package around, roughly feeling my cock through the outside of my work pants. He moved his hand back up, reached under the waistband, and slipped it inside to investigate my balls with the tips of his fingers. On top of that, here was one of the sexiest guys ever, Milo, shoving his hands down the front of my pants. I could hardly believe this was happening to me.

Breaking off our kiss, he gave my hard dick one last squeeze and said, "I gotta taste this. I need to suck on your cock right now. If I don't do it this second, I'm literally going to explode and get guts all over your car. Unbutton your pants and pull them down. Right this instant!"

"Okay," I croaked out. It was unfathomable to me that Milo was going to be sucking on my dick. I couldn't get that out of my mind. My dick – in his mouth. Wow! I was so super-horny and excited that when I wiggled my pants and boxers down to my ankles, my boner slapped hard against my stomach with a loud whap.

"Dude, do I hear flapjacks?" Milo joked.

"Shut the fuck up," I giggled nervously.

Seeing my hard dick up close for the first time, he let out a deep sigh. "Oh, man. Look at that beautiful cock. Push your seat recliner all the way back and pull up your shirt. Hurry," he demanded. "God you're so hot, Mase. I so want to suck on your boner and eat your load. I gotta have it. Right fucking now." He seemed to like saying that phrase, but I sure wasn't going to call him on it now.

I complied quickly and leaned my head around to watch this incredible show. Milo gave me one last quick peck on the lips and shot me a seductive smirk before he launched down and tongued the tip of my dick for the very first time. "OH! FUCK!" I screamed.

"I haven't even done anything yet," he snickered.

"I know. It's so awesome. So fucking awesome."

Milo scrunched back down, and this time, instead of licking the head, he alternated between sucking on the tip and swirling his tongue along the sensitive underside of my shaft all the way down to the root. The feeling was indescribable, and it was the most awesome sight seeing Milo nurse on my hotrod like that in the amber glow of the car's dash lights, his nose almost buried in my short pubes. I wasn't sure I'd be able to last much longer.

"Ummm, your pubes smell so, so...excellent! Like you, Mase, like on steroids or something. Damn!"

"Oh, god," I said, unable to say much more than that because my brain had suddenly turned to Jell-O.

I watched as he took one last taste of my crotch and moved back up to concentrate on my dickhead. Doing this for real was inexplicably better than I'd ever fantasized. I couldn't get over the fact that I was here, at the Overlook, in my car with my pants and boxers around my ankles with one of the hottest jocks in school, whose head was actually in my lap and scarfing down on my boner. The thought of that sent a flurry of electricity through my body once again, causing my balls to tighten up and my erection to throb even harder in his mouth. I honestly couldn't get over that this was Milo, Shortstop Milo, hot on my dick.

Maybe he read my mind and wanted to press home the fact that yes, this was actually happening, because he surprised me by quickly jumping off the tip of my dick, and urgently shoved his rigid tongue deeply into my open mouth. It was a crazy feeling, kissing him like this and tasting myself a little on his lips. So epically awesome.

"You like, surfer boy?" he asked, panting slightly, a bead of sweat slowly running down his tan forehead.

"Oh, god. Yes! Tasting me in your mouth is so excellent. All of it's good! Shit. You better start sucking for real because I don't think I can last very long. Dude. You're a pro at this!"

"All right, I'm all over it. Just so you know, like I said, Mase, I've never done this before, and I'm not sure I can take your whole load. It might get messy."

"I don't care. Don't worry about it – we can hose off later. This feels so fucking incredible, Milo. Keep doing what you're doing."

"Okay, here goes." With that, he dropped back down on my rod, opening his mouth and taking a good inch or two into his hot, moist mouth. He must have studied up on blow job technique, because he quickly wrapped his luscious lips on my pole and commenced to bob up and down, swirling his tongue along the shaft and all over the tip, drawing my hard-on deeper and deeper into his mouth. It was all I could do to keep from grabbing his ears and slamming my dick all the way down his throat.

He moved around so that his left hand was at the base of my cock holding it true, his fingers lightly feeling my drawn-up balls, while his other hand went up my chest to fondle my nips like I had done to him. Milo continued to take bigger and bigger gulps of my dick down his throat, and while he couldn't get it all in, I didn't care because it felt so damn good. I realized I was starting to sweat, and even in the salty air, all I could concentrate on was the incredible sensations coming from my dick; that's all I felt.

Unbelievably, it got better still! Bobbing up and down on my dick as far into his mouth as he could take it, he started to hum. Fucking hum that stupid fucking dance song! Incredibly, it sent erotic vibrations coursing throughout my body, radiating outward from my engorged cock. It sent me into orbit, and I could feel the first tell-tale beginnings of my impending orgasm.

"Milo," I groaned, my toes curling painfully.

"Hmmmm," he hummed, completely lost in this new endeavor.

"Gonna cum," I squeaked, my muscles throughout my body tightening up and every hair on my body standing at attention.

"Hmmmm."

"Gonna fuckin' cum, Milo!" I yelled, my butt cheeks and asshole pinching tightly now.

"Um-hmmm."

"Gonna fuckin' cum, NOW!" I groaned as spurt after spurt of my hot seed raced out the tip of my cumhole and filled Milo's mouth to overflowing. I bucked, I shivered, and I moaned as my eyes rolled back into my head. Once I stopped shaking and opened my eyes, there was Milo right there in front of me with his mouth twisted into a killer smile, a pearly-white blob of my load slowly running down the side of his chin. It was by far the sexiest thing that I had ever seen in my entire life.

If it was possible to surprise me even more, he quickly pressed his lips to mine, allowing me to share in his reward. It tasted so great! We kissed for a few seconds, savoring the warm, sweet taste, and allowing me to come down from my rush. Next thing I knew, he pushed off me and practically yelled in my face, "My turn!"
