I stood, frozen to the spot, at first; staring at an image that could not be. I looked ahead of me, and there was Derrick and Terry, on roller skates; and they were coming toward me. I slowly began to move in the opposite direction, picking up my pace, running from something that was impossible; but they were chasing me. I ran as fast as I could, panic filling my very soul; but this could not be happening, they were dead. I mean, am I crazy; they are dead, aren't they?

"Josh"

I kept running and they were gaining on me.

"Josh!"

I tripped and fell on the ground; and, soon, they were standing over me, staring at me with menace. No words were being spoken. Terry leaned in, and his eyes were black, dead, soulless. Derrick came close, and his eyes were empty.

"Josh, wake up."

I closed my eyes and begged for an escape. I felt hands on me; is this it, is this the end of me?

"Josh, babe, come on, wake up" I heard, and I opened my eyes. I could see Cal, panic in his eyes. I was soaked in sweat.

"Josh, you were having a nightmare; I couldn't wake you" he said, a hint of sadness and sobbing in his words. We had been back from Florida only a couple of days, and this was the second night running that I had these nightmares. The incident with those assholes was affecting me more than I thought it would.

"Sorry Cal, I didn't mean to wake you" I said, sitting up.

"Babe, you are soaking" he commented, mopping my brow with a cold wet cloth.

"I think I need to see the therapist, again, Cal. I need to talk to someone. This has affected me more than I thought possible; but I will not let this ruin my life" I said, and he kissed my brow.

"Whatever it takes, Josh" he replied, and pulled me close to him. I felt safe in his arms, and he very well knew that. His body odor was not pungent, but sweet; his musk felt like home to me. After a short time, I drifted off to sleep, secure in Cal's arms.

We both woke to the sound of Todd, rummaging around, trying to find something. What, I have no clue. He looked frantic, the look of someone desperate.

"Hey, morning, dude" I said, and he didn't stop and look at me.

"Todd?" I said, again, a little louder.

"Oh, hey, sorry Josh, didn't mean to wake you" he replied, not taking his eyes from his task at hand.

"How's Laura?" I asked, and he turned and looked at me, and smiled.

"Horny" he replied, and I smiled.

"Condoms; I'm out, and the pharmacy is closed. You have any?" he asked.

"Sorry dude, we don't use them. Check Dales room" I replied.

"Great idea. That horny fucker has to have some. You have a key?" he asks, and I shake Cal awake.

"Hey, what's up" he said, half asleep.

"Condoms" Todd replied.

"Huh?" Cal questioned, still half asleep and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, as he sat up.

"Condoms, Dale has some, I need your key" Todd replied, and Cal grabbed for his pants, but couldn't quite reach. He fell out of bed, his morning glory at full mast.

"Hey, fuck dude, you could have put someone's eye out" Todd responded, covering his eyes in mock disgust.

"Catch" Cal replied, with no shame, as he threw the keys in Todd's direction.

"Thanks guys, see you a little later; if I am still walking" he replied, as he closed and re-locked the door.

"I take it, he's spending Saturday in bed" Cal added.

"Sounds like it; and, by the way, that is not a bad idea" I smiled at him, squeezing his ample junk.

"Well, part of it would be good; but I'd like to spend some time on the truck, today" Cal replied, kissing my cheek, as I squeezed his cock, hard.

"If it goes off in your hand, you clean the sheets" he added, as he leaned down and kissed me.

After making love for almost an hour, we showered and got dressed in some old clothes, and headed off to the lock up garage that Dave had found a few weeks back. Cal had already made a start on the body, and Dave and Nick had pitched in, changing the transmission.

"So, have you decided on a color?" I asked, and he just looked blank.

"I'm looking at some designs and schemes, but I just cannot make up my mind" Cal replied.

"Design?" I asked.

"Yeah, I want some sort of design on the doors and running along the side panels. It will look bad ass, and I think it would be so awesome" he responded with enthusiasm. It was nice to see him so excited.

"I think the base color will be Ferrari red, though" he added.

"Hey, sorry I'm late" Nick said, as he walked into the garage.

"Great job on the transmission, Nick. I owe you" Cal replied.

"Don't sweat it. Your offer of a week in the Hamptons, during summer, will be payment enough. I know Dave is stoked about it" Nick enthused. I was unaware of Cal's offer to the guys, but was not disappointed, either. After all, it is his to do with as he pleases.

"It's our pleasure, Nick" Cal replied.

"Cal says you will be living there after the summer. Looking forward to getting out of the dorms, Josh?" he asked.

"Nick, the dorms are great and we love living here; but this will be Cal's place, and has a lot more room" I replied with a smile.

"Our place, Josh. It will be our place, not just mine" he said, rubbing a smudge of oil on my face, and smearing it in.

"You dick" I yelled, as he ran behind the truck.

"You can run, jock boy; but you can't hide" I reminded him, and he smiled that sexy as fuck, sex on legs smile, that melted me every time.

"Stop smiling, I can't work with a boner" I said, and he smiled at that; the dick.

"Erm, too much information, Josh; thank you, very much" Nick replied, while tinkering under the hood.

I went back to sanding down the bodywork, as they did the mechanical stuff. I am an engineer in the making; but, grease monkey, I am not.

An hour or so later...

"Try it now, Cal" Nick shouted from under the hood.

Cal, sitting in the driver's seat, pushed the start button. The engine coughed and sputtered.

"Okay, stop" Nick yelled, again, and Cal climbed out.

"How many miles on the clock?" Nick asked.

"500 plus" Cal replied.

"Dude, it's shot. It would be a shame if you didn't change it out" Nick said, shaking his head.

"Shit, I hoped to keep it in" Cal replied.

"Cal, it needs a transplant" Nick snickered.

"Okay, okay, I'll look on the net and search for one" Cal replied.

After a few hours of working on his baby, as he called it; the paint work still to be decided, and the design still locked away inside his head, but he will make his mind up soon.

An hour later, we were in the shower, where he, with a wash cloth, gently and with genuine lust in his eyes, washed the smeared oil from my face. This must have looked like a lead up to one of those gay porn films, that we almost never watch, from time to time, perhaps. Okay, who doesn't need a little titillation from time to time.

"Your skin is perfect" he commented.

"I have scars" I replied in a low voice.

"They give your body character, a history. The one above your eyebrow looks sexy as fuck on you, babe. You are beautiful" he says, rubbing his thumb over my face, as the water runs down it. I had a tear there, but he couldn't see it.

"I can't wait to be married to you, Cal" I replied, as I held my hand behind his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.

"Grandpa rang, earlier" he said, as we were getting dressed.

"Oh, problem's?" I asked.

"Nope. We have to be there for five weeks. Is that okay?" he asked. I was excited about interning at Kenner engineering; and under assumed identities. All very intriguing.

"Can't wait for that, either" I replied, as I pulled on my briefs over my deflating member.

"Yeah, we can go down on Friday, stay with the oldies, and then open up the house on Saturday and get settled. Cool with you?" he asked, and I just smiled as he distracted me, by slowly pulling up his boxers over his perfect ass.

"Huh?" was all I could get out.

"The house" he repeated.

"What house?" I asked, still a little distracted. It does not matter how many times I see his body, I am in total awe of his physique.

"We will open the house in Chicago, on Saturday" he repeated.

"Yeah, sorry, I was a little distracted, Babe" I replied, and kissed him when I stood up.

"Come on, we are meeting Todd in twenty minutes. What time does Dale get back, anyway?" he added, as we headed down the stairs.

"Right now" I heard Dale say, walking up the steps.

"Hello, dude" I said, pulling him into a hug. How's the 'rents?" I asked.

"Oh, cool; Mark is the golden boy, all of a sudden" he replied.

"Oh, how?" I asked.

"Tell you later: Pub?" he added, and we nodded.

"Which one?" he then asked.

"Murphy's. We stand a better chance of not getting carded" Cal replied.

"Okay, see you there in about twenty" he said, and climbed the steps, as we descended.

An hour later, we were shooting pool and having a drink; soft, for most of us. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you get a know it all bartender, who asks for I.D.

"Red, corner pocket" Cal said, as he ran the table against Dale. Laura, looking better by the day, was talking to Lisa as a couple of guys approached them.

I heard one ask if they could buy them a drink. They declined, but the guys would not back down easily. Todd walked over and whispered into the one guys ear, and the guy just stared at him.

"Look kid, I'm talking to the pretty ladies; go back with your boyfriends, before you get hurt" he replied, and we stopped playing pool. We walked over beside Todd, having his back. Four more guys walked over and stood beside the two rednecks who were causing the trouble.

"You really want to involve yourselves kid?" one asked.

"If I have to defend my girl, I'd die for her" Todd replied, and Laura smiled, then frowned, as the guy was backing Todd into a corner, menacingly.

"Kid, don't fool yourself; these pretty young things don't date fags" he smirked, and Todd blew out his chest.

"Hey, what is going on"said someone I recognized. It was Billy Ray, from the football team, someone who had my back, once.

"Oh, hey Josh, problem?" he asks.

"Billy Ray, you know these faggots?" the redneck asked.

"Bobby, if you cuss out one of my friends, again. Fuck, dude, you are a dumb son of a bitch. You have been out of prison less than 2 days, and are already looking for a return trip" Billy Ray said, with menace.

"Look, Cuz, I was after some female company, is all" he replied.

"Laura, Lisa, this idiot is my cousin; he's not all there, if you know what I mean" Billy said, apologizing for his cousin.

"it's Todd, isn't it" Billy Ray said, holding out his hand.

"Yeah, Billy, we played on the football team last year" Todd replied, rolling his eyes at the lack of recognition.

"Yeah, I remember; with that kid who went to prison, Reynolds. He killed that Conner kid; fucking asshole" he added.

"Terry" I said, butting in.

"Oh, shit, Josh, he was the guy, wasn't he? Shit, sorry dude; jock brain" he said, apologetically, putting his hand on my shoulder.

"It's okay, Billy Ray, the asshole is dead, so no foul" I added, with a forced wry grin.

Over the next 15 or so minutes, everything calmed down. Bobby even bought us beer when the bartender went off shift, and was replaced by the one who never asks.

"So, for what were you in prison?" I asked.

"Beating up my stepdad; he hit momma, and I snapped" Bobby replied.

"Josh, can I tell you something?" he asked.

"Sure" I replied. Todd and Laura were playing pool against Dale and Lisa, and Cal was refereeing.

"This Terry, who you were talking about, I knew him; in prison, I mean. He was an asshole. He was killed in a fight he started in the showers. I saw it" he said, staring at his bottle of Bud.

"What happened" I asked, a little stunned.

"He was involved with a white supremacist gang: all assholes" he replied.

"And?"

"They picked on this Mexican kid. They were going to send out a message to the Hispanics, inside; and, well, it didn't go down as they planned" he carried on.

"Since Reynolds was a new member, it was his right of passage. He dropped the knife, the kid picked it up, and well, you know the rest" he concluded.

"Good for the kid" I replied.

"No, not really. They still killed him, then put the knife in Reynolds hand and left, threatening us to stay quiet, and that I will. I like life...well, sometimes I do" he ended.

"Do you regret it?" I asked.

"Huh?"

"Hitting your stepdad" I added.

"Never! I'll kill him if he ever hurts her again" he replied, and I could tell he meant it.

"Sorry about the fag thing" he said, as Cal walked over and sat down beside me. Following Todd's advice, we kept public displays of affection to a minimum.

"We have heard worse" Cal replied.

"Oh, I mean the insult, I know you are not fags" he laughed, and we didn't reply.

"Oh, shit! You are! Fuck!!!" he said, his face going red with embarrassment.

"Bobby, if you are offended by it, well, sorry; but that is your problem, not ours" Cal said, as he hugged me.

"Guys, sorry. Sometimes my mouth spits out shit before my brain can catch up; that's the redneck gene. I'm sorry, besides...hang on...Tray, come here, you asshole" he shouts, and a young kid about 18 comes over, with a bottle of coke in his hand.

"Guys, this is my brother, Tray" he said, and Billy waved, as he left with his buddies.

"Hello, Tray" I said, and as soon as he spoke, I knew he was gay; he had a feminine tone and mannerisms, we don't so I guessed that Bobby was thinking that all gay guys had a feminine side, apart from laying on my back and spreading my legs for Cal, I am what you would call straight acting, as is Cal.

"He's a Fa, sorry, Gay" Billy stumbled out.

"Hey, who are you?" Tray asked.

"Oh, sorry, I'm Josh, and this is my boyfriend, Cal" I introduced ourselves, and he blushed.

"No shit?" he said, surprised.

We spoke, played pool and some darts, for a while; and eventually, the night drew to a close. We walked the half mile back to campus and went our separate ways.

"That could have ended so differently" I said, with Cal's arm wrapped around me. "Yeah, but it was okay. I was told something tonight, by Bobby" I added.

"Oh, what?" he asked.

"He knew Terry in prison" I replied.

"He wasn't a friend, I hope" Cal said.

"No, I'll tell you, upstairs" I replied.

"Hey, wait up. Shit, you can walk faster than some people can run" Dale yelled, as he and Lisa caught up.

"I take it, you two are sharing your room?" Dale asked, with a twinkle in his eye.

"I take it, you would like us to" I replied.

"Fuck, dude, we've not seen each other in three days. I have needs" Dale whispered.

"Yeah, no problem, my friend" I replied, as we climbed the stairs to our rooms.

We were in my room, when a knock at the door stopped any further action. I had Cal hard and ready.

I opened the door, and Dale, looking a little pissed, stood in the doorway.

"Dale, what's up?" I asked.

"Some asshole has stolen all my condoms" he replied.
