Epilogue - Three Years Later

I walked my clients out to the front porch and stood there chatting with them for a few minutes before going back in the house. I'd just sat down at my desk to go over their file when I heard a car pull in the driveway. A minute later I heard the back door open and close and then a cute blond head appeared in the doorway of my office.

"Hey, Ryan, how's it going? Working hard?"

"Aren't I always?"

"Yeah, when you're not fucking."

"You should talk, Kyle. If you spent half as much time studying as you did fucking you'd make dean's list."

"You know I've made dean's list every semester. I don't let fucking get in the way of school."

"As long as you've got your priorities straight."

"That's about the only straight thing about me, as you well know."

"I do, but I can always use a reminder."

"Maybe later, if you're lucky," he grinned. "Right now I've got to get ready for the cocktail party."

"I checked the bar earlier. You just have to take the ice and munchies out at the last minute."

"I've got the routine down by now, Ryan. See you in a bit."

He left and I went back to work on my clients' financial plans. I was probably at it half an hour when I heard the thick Spanish accent from the front of the house.

"Honey! I'm hooome!"

It was about the thousandth time Carlos had come home exaggerating his accent to sound like Ricky Ricardo, but I still grinned. A minute later he appeared in the doorway of my office looking so incredibly sexy in his Brooks Brothers suit. I got up and walked around the desk and kissed him.

"What's with the clothes? You know I love to come home to a naked Ryan."

"And I love to be naked for you, but some people prefer that their financial advisor wear clothes when they meet with him. Especially the two lesbians who just left."

"Aw, lesbians are no fun."

"I'm sure they can be fun, but by definition not sexual fun for gay men."

"How about we get changed and get ready for our guests? I've had enough of this business drag for today."

"You just want to get me out of my clothes."

"Well, of course. I'm not crazy."

We headed up to our suite on the second floor of the house, passing Kyle on the stairs. Carlos groped his package as we passed.

"Hey, Carlos. Watch it or I'll be serving drinks with a hardon."

"And you think our guests would mind that?"

We went on upstairs as Kyle went down. As soon as we were in our room Carlos pulled me into another tight hug and just held me for a minute.

"Damn, you feel good, Ry. But then you always feel good."

"So do you, babe." I pulled back a bit and looked into his eyes. "Rough day?"

"A little. Unstable oil market making everyone nervous, lots of rumors. More tension than usual but not bad. Always good to be home, though."

He stripped off his suit and carefully hung it in the closet while I sat on the bed and watched. Once he was naked he did a quick spin showing off his hot little body. Then I leaned back while he put on his skin-tight black leather pants, taking a minute to push his schlong down the left leg and get it positioned comfortably before zipping up. He added his harness and then did another spin.

"'Hot enough?"

"As always." I reached over and rubbed the bulge running down his left thigh but he jumped back.

"Hey, it took me long enough to get it in there. Don't make it any bigger or I'll split my seams. Now get changed or I'll go down without you."

I got up and took off my Dockers and polo shirt. I wasn't wearing underwear so I didn't have to take any off before putting on my tight, strategically torn jeans. I buckled my collar around my neck and attached a chain to my nipple rings.

We both put on black boots and we went downstairs and out onto the multilevel deck that took up half the back yard. Kyle was tending bar wearing a tiny pair of black leather shorts that looked like they'd been painted on him. A couple of middle-aged bears in jeans and tee shirts were talking to him, waiting for their drinks. Another couple in their late twenties, wearing muscle shirts and snug jeans, were leaning against a railing, sipping drinks. Three tattooed guys in their early thirties were coming through the gate in the fence. Within fifteen minutes there were nearly twenty guys on the deck, most wearing some amount of denim or leather. We spent the next hour or so chatting with our guests. As our weekly cocktail gathering was winding down I leaned back against the deck railing and looked up at the huge old house, thinking about the first time I saw it.

"You've got to be kidding, Carlos. This place is in the worst condition of anything we've looked at." We were standing in knee-high weeds in the back yard, looking up at the peeling paint and sagging gutters. We'd just gone through the whole house and the inside was almost as bad.

"It's cheaper than the smaller houses we've looked at and lots cheaper than the new condos along the ocean, even at pre-construction prices. And it probably wouldn't cost that much to fix it up. I'm sure it's mostly cosmetic work."

"But it's huge. What would we do with all this space? There are five bedrooms upstairs. It's not like we're planning a large family."

"Yeah, but something about this place got to me when I saw it listed online. Let's go through it one more time and then go get something to eat and talk. I have an idea."

I groaned. Carlos and his ideas.

It had been over a month since the divorce and we were still living in the hotel. Every place we looked at in or near the city was out of our price range, or at least my new price range, given the divorce settlement. Carlos had surprised me by suggesting we look in Asbury Park. My big city lover was apparently quite taken with the tiny city at the shore. I had to admit the town had a lot to offer - low real estate prices, a growing gay community and an hour's commute into New York by train. And since I'd lived in Monmouth County for several years I was already familiar with the area. So we began to look around. We'd just spent an entire Saturday looking at houses in the north end of the city. The huge white elephant was easily the most house for the money but it was so much more room than we needed. Over dinner though, Carlos told me his idea.

"Every place we've gone in Asbury Park I've seen guys who look like they're into the leather scene, at least a bit. So I was thinking that if we had a big place like that house we could do some real entertaining."

"Entertaining? What precisely do you have in mind?"

"Well, there's nothing close to a leather bar in town and we can't exactly run something like that out of a house, but maybe we could have regular parties."

"You mean like at the club in the city? I thought we were looking for a home, not a sex club."

"No, I'm definitely talking about a home, too. A sex club would probably violate all kinds of city ordinances and have the authorities after us in no time. These would just be ordinary parties. Of course, if we have a few extra bedrooms upstairs and some of the guests want to make use of them..."

"Ah, I thought so." I frowned at him.

"Well, leaving the entertaining part aside for now, there's another reason I like the place. You'd have to see the cramped little apartment I grew up in in the South Bronx to understand, but even as rundown as it is, that house is like a mansion to me. I never even dreamed of being able to have a place like that to live in."

Carlos usually came across as a tough, ambitious young man, driven by his twin desires of financial success and sexual pleasure. But I looked across the table and saw a boy with a dream as simple as a big beautiful home.

"I imagine that house must have been pretty grand in its day and I suppose it could be again, but it would take a lot of time, work and money to get it back in shape."

"We could do it, Ry, I know we could."

"But we both have full-time jobs in the city. How would we have the time and energy for that?"

"It doesn't matter how long it takes. We'd have to hire someone for the big work anyway. And maybe we could get someone to help with the other stuff."

"You're talking about a lot of money. We could swing the house itself on our salaries, and I could cash in some investments to pay for the major improvements, but hiring someone to help out would be an ongoing expense."

"It might not cost that much. I was thinking about Kyle. This might be the answer to his problems."

Kyle had come to see us in the city about a week after the divorce. He was practically in tears. Things had gotten steadily worse between him and his parents since he'd come out months before. The episode with the picture of the two of us hadn't helped matters. He'd just graduated from high school and his parents had informed him that the only college they would pay for was a Christian school down south. Also, in order to have their financial assistance he would be required to see a therapist to be cured of his homosexuality. There was no way he would go along with either of their demands, so it looked like he wasn't going to college. He already had a summer job lined up but that wouldn't pay for much. We would have loved to have been able to help him in some way but all we could do was offer him our friendship and moral support.

"Kyle could come live at the house and help us fix it up. He could even have an outside job to make money for college."

"You've really thought this all out, haven't you?" I was surprised that he'd worked all of it out and hadn't even mentioned it to me.

"Not completely. You know how things go when ideas start racing through my head. There are lots of details we'd have to iron out but I think it would work."

When we got back to the hotel we spent the evening going over our finances. Anne and I had quickly found a buyer for our house and my small share of the profit on that would make an ample down payment on the house in Asbury Park. Carlos' salary and half of mine would qualify us for a mortgage. I'd have to cash in some of the investments I was left with to fix up the house, but at least the money was there. The realtor had told us that the city seemed to be finally poised to make a turnaround and that property values could explode in the near future, so between that and fixing the place up, we would probably make quite a nice profit even if we decided to sell a few years down the road.

We took a few days to think and talk it over and then when we'd pretty much made up our minds we invited Kyle to dinner. He absolutely loved the idea. To be honest, things were so bad with his parents I think he would have jumped at any plan that would get him out of their house. We contacted the realtor and the three of us spent a day going through the house, sharing ideas. We realized it would take a lot more than cosmetic work to turn the old place into a decent home, but I still had some of my assets. It would just be an investment of a different kind.

The sale of my old house was going through at the end of August so we set the closing for our house for a couple of weeks later. Moving out of the hotel didn't entail much. All we had there were our clothes, a computer and a few personal possessions. Most of my things were in storage and would stay there until at least some of the work on the house was done. The only furniture we needed right away was a couple of beds. It took two trips from the city to the shore to get all of our stuff there. As we left the hotel for the last time, dropping our keys off at the desk, Carlos turned to me.

"I took care of Jose yesterday."

"Took care? What do you mean?"

"Well, he doesn't know where you're working now, doesn't know where we're moving to and he's already done his worst to me at the bank, so I figured it was time for a little payback. After all, there's nothing more he can do to us."

"So what did you do?" As much as I hated Jose and wanted revenge, I was nervous about crossing him again.

"I called his landlord, the management company in midtown, and told them about his aunt going back to Puerto Rico a couple of years ago and Jose living in the apartment in her name. They said he'd either have to move out or sign a lease in his own name at more than twice the rent. I'm sure he's been having enough trouble paying the rent on his own since I left, so he's gonna have to move."

"Couldn't happen to a nicer guy."

It took all fall and winter to get the house in decent shape. I had thought the big expenses would be a new furnace and installation of central air conditioning, but our decision to create a large master bedroom suite with its own luxury bathroom threatened to turn the house into a money pit. We had to contract out most of the work but over the months the three of us became experts at painting and refinishing floors and woodwork. By spring the house was pretty much done and my investment portfolio was pretty much empty. But at least we'd managed to get the job done without having to borrow money.

What helped even more was that Carlos changed jobs in the spring. Since he probably had no future at the bank he'd been planning on a change all along, so when an opportunity with another investment firm arose for a position with somewhat more responsibility and much more money he grabbed it. My situation wasn't as rosy. My new job had been a huge step backwards for my career and even though it was work I was used to, I had no enthusiasm for it. Maybe it was a case of 'been there, done that' but I began to realize that a big part of my drive to succeed in the corporate world and make more money had come from Anne's determination to move up socially. I was still fascinated by investments and the financial world but I had no interest in office politics or intrigue.

Kyle seemed determined to show us how much he appreciated our giving him the chance to get away from his parents and go to school. He had a fulltime job at a local supermarket and worked weekends as a gofer at Paradise but spent many hours every week working on the house as well. He also spent many nights in our bed. Carlos enjoyed his role as the dominant versatile top in a household with two submissive versatile bottoms. We hadn't really become a threesome, though. Carlos and I were definitely a couple and Kyle was just as clearly a single young man. But as we lived together and got to know one another we became a family of sorts. And more than the fun we occasionally had in bed we all enjoyed the emotional support we gave one another. Kyle and I both needed that kind of support as we were both coming from broken family relationships, as different as they were.

Our first summer in the house we began our cocktail party tradition. In spite of our jobs and the time we'd spent working on the house we'd made an effort to get to know local people by frequenting the gay restaurants and bars in town. Carlos had no problem approaching anyone he found interesting and by early summer we had a short guest list to start with. As the parties were more or less open houses the number of guest varied and grew from week to week. In addition to the cocktail parties we also hosted an occasional Saturday night party. Those were the events that often came close to becoming orgies, although we were usually able to confine any sexual activity to one or both of the guest rooms.

As Carlos' career thrived I grew more and more dissatisfied with mine. Carlos was the one who suggested that I might be happier as a self-employed financial consultant. The idea intrigued me but I knew I couldn't afford to quit my job to give it a try. While Carlos was making enough so we could have supported ourselves and the house on his salary, I still had that enormous alimony to pay every month so I had to keep working. Nearly two years after the divorce, Anne took care of that problem by finally marrying Chaz. Once free of my obligation to her, I set up an office on the first floor of the house, advertised in the local gay and straight communities, quit my job and went into business. I'd always had a knack for investments and enjoyed it even more with a personal connection to my clients. Within a year I'd built up a comfortable little business.

Aside from our frequent sexual encounters with Kyle when he wasn't dating anyone else, which was often, Carlos and I seemed to be slowly creeping toward monogamy. We still went to the club in New York now and then but often just watched when sexual activity was taking place. Carlos was the one to decide if we took part and over time he didn't seem as interested in that scene. We were occasionally propositioned by a guest at one of our parties but unless it was someone really special suggesting something Carlos had never tried, he usually politely declined. When we did have sex with someone else I didn't mind. Carlos had shown me that I was a real slut for cock and, as long as he was a part of it, I enjoyed any scene within reason. But Carlos was the only man I really needed and his long cock was enough to satisfy my cravings.

Once our guests were gone Carlos and I started cleaning up. Kyle walked over to Carlos and snuggled up against him.

"If you guys don't mind handling this yourselves, I've got to get ready for my date."

Carlos wrapped his arm around Kyle and grabbed one cheek of his ass. "I'd rather handle this."

"I know you would but my ass belongs to Wade now. You'll just have to make do with Ryan's."

"Hey, I think I resent that. My ass isn't second-string. It's prime meat all the way."

"Don't worry, Ry. Kyle may have a hot ass but yours is still my favorite. Always has been and always will be."

"I know, babe, but it's still nice to hear." I grinned at Carlos before turning to Kyle. "So are you boys going to be late? Doesn't Wade have to work in the morning?" Wade and Kyle had met in class at Rutgers several months earlier. They both had summer jobs but while Kyle had been a bartender at Paradise since he turned 21 and worked nights, Wade's job was during the day.

"We're just going out to a movie and then we'll come back here and fuck our brains out. Wade's gonna spend the night."

"As long as you two keep down the noise. Remember you've got a couple of old farts across the hall trying to sleep," I said.

"Knowing you guys the old farts will probably keep us up all night."

"I'm sure we could keep you both up in more ways than one," Carlos leered at Kyle.

"I'm sure you could too but I don't think Wade is into group sex."

I walked over to Kyle and hugged him, putting his head on my shoulder. "You really like him a lot, don't you?"

"Yeah, I do. He's a great guy and totally hot, but it's more than that. He's a dominant, take-charge kind of guy, a lot like Carlos. He takes what he wants. I like that."

Carlos stepped up behind Kyle and wrapped his arms around both of us, sandwiching Kyle in the middle.

"Just make sure he knows what he's doing and you know what you're doing. Don't let him make you do anything you don't want to."

"Don't worry, Carlos, I'm not that submissive. Besides, you guys have taught me a lot about myself so I know what I'm doing."

Kyle went upstairs to get dressed and Carlos and I went back to cleaning up. We were just finishing up when he came down looking like a preppy college kid, kissed us both goodnight and left.

"Our little boy's growing up," I sighed to Carlos.

"Yeah, he is, but then he's never been very little as long as we've known him."

"I know you're as protective of him as I am but I was surprised by your comment before. I don't remember you ever warning me not to let you do anything I didn't want."

"That's because I know you and have never done anything with you that you didn't want, Ry." He paused. "Have I?"

I thought about that for a minute.

"I don't know about that. There have been a number of times you've pushed me into doing things I didn't want to. Sometimes I found I enjoyed them, sometimes I didn't."

"But have you ever regretted doing anything I asked you to?"

'Asked? More like demanded.' That was a question I really had to think about. My life had gone through so many changes since I met Carlos, many for the worse, at least it seemed at the time. So often it seemed like I was out of control, being directed by Carlos into a series of wrong turns. It had been quite a ride, sometimes fun, sometimes confusing, sometimes terrifying, but always exciting. In four years Carlos had taught me more about myself than I'd learned in the previous thirty. And I'd loved and been loved more than I ever thought possible.

"We've made a few mistakes along the way, Carlos, but we've ended up in the right place, I think. I wouldn't change a thing. I'm right where I want to be, with the man I love."

"The same thing goes for me. You've tamed the beast, Ry, made me settle down more than I ever thought I would want to. I love everything about my life because I love you. I still never know just what I'm going to do next, but I do know that whatever it is, it will be with you."

He took me in his arms and kissed me. Carlos' unpredictability had kept me off-balance though the early months of our relationship, but once I'd realized how much I meant to him it had been a source of positive excitement, not negative stress. As I pulled back from him a little he was squeezing my ass with one hand and toying with a nipple ring with the other.

"Why don't we go upstairs?" I suggested. "If you're nice I might let you have your way with me."

Carlos arched an eyebrow and gave me that quirky little smile of his. "Might? You'll do as I say, sir."

The End.
