"Benny the Matchmaker" was inspired by my good old friend Castleton during a chat we had. He told me to write a short and simple story and suggested to use my last encounter with a nice stranger as I was walking my dog in the park.

For some time now I work together with my friend Andy, who tirelessly reads and edits my stories to make them as good as possible.

This chapter I dedicate to you, Andy, as a huge 'Thank You my Friend!'

So, here it is!

Greets, Dylan

Benny the Matchmaker -5-

Mr. Ahmed, Ian the surgeon, Dylan, his Mom, Tony's Mom, and even Benny all seemed to stop breathing for a second, and even the planet Earth stood still, it seemed.

Omar, laying in bed, and Tony, holding his hand, evidently realized that they all knew what had just happened. The two boys were deeply in love with one another, their hands clinging together as if they were about to face a death sentence.

Ian spoke up in a calm and reassuring voice:

" Boys, there is no need to be afraid! No one in the room is mad at you, no one is about to separate you guys, or yell at you, or punish you for anything!"

You could literally hear a pin drop, as the boys started to smile through a curtain of tears, sobbing happily.

Mr. Ahmed stood by Omar's bed his hand on the shoulder of the boy he deeply cared for, while Tony's Mom supported her son .

The only one in the room who seemed to say ' See, I knew it! Told ya!' was Benny, on her Masters bed, wagging her tail excitedly, while Dylan petted her. His Mom smiled broadly, standing by her friend, Tony's Mom, supporting her with a hand resting on her shoulder.

The whole group had all gathered to give the boys their love, support and strength to take the next steps.

Telling his Majesty, the King, and Omar's Mother, the Queen what had happened.

The meeting with them was inevitable, as Mr. Ahmed very well knew. The staff of the Embassy having informed him that the Airbus was already approaching the airport.

Omar was as white as a perfectly clean sheet as he realized his meeting with his parents would mean that he either had to lie about his feelings, or to face the prospects of his Fathers wrath.

King Omar Suleiman, Ruler of the Sheikdom of Ras-al-Haroun was no mild sovereign, that much was clear. He ruled his Sheikdom with the same iron fist his own father had done before him, and even though modern times brought changes, many traditions, long out-dated and obsolete in most parts of the world, were still generally accepted and enforced in Omar's home country.

To be openly gay was impossible, even for the common man, and a member of the Royal Family, especially the Crown Prince, could simply be nothing else then a hot blooded heterosexual man, using and abusing women at will, since women were not seen as important as men.

Homosexuals however were treated even worse, they maybe were tolerated in private, but never allowed to come out to the public.

Omar knew his Father might give him the permission to employ Tony as his trusted valet or even envoy, his Father would turn a blind eye if the two young men spent soo much time together, but Omar would be expected to marry.

A woman, preferably of another noble, at best Royal family.

Children, heirs, were expected.

While Dylan laid back on his bed, Benny by his side, Omar and Tony talked quietly, evidently in their own little world.

Ian the surgeon, the women, and Mr. Ahmed had left the room to give the convalescents some time to recover, while they themselves needed the time to think, talk, discuss the options, and prepare for the meeting with the Prince's parents.

Ian spoke up first, addressing the Prince's bodyguard, valet, and confidant, Ahmed. He knew the King was Ahmed's friend and trusted him enough to give his son's life and well being into the man's hands.

The usually almost stoic, always calm man seemed nervous, and Ian, himself always master of any situation, was of no real help.

It was Mrs. Miller, Kenzo in tow, who had the perfect plan at hand:

" I will invite her Royal Highness, Queen Alia, the Princes Mother, and Tony's and Dylan's mothers for a nice tea. My husband will be there as well. Queen Alia has not met him before, and I think he will be delighted to get acquainted to her."

An almost conspiratorial grin on her face showed clearly that she had a hidden agenda.

Ian picked it up first:

" You think if you introduce your almost immobilized husband to the mother of a boy who needed a wonder of modern medicine so he has not ended up in a wheelchair himself, she might reconsider her values?"

Tony's and Dylan's Moms were indifferent at first. Both were overwhelmed by the prospect of visiting a Penthouse overlooking the Central Park to meet the First lady of one of the richest Countries of the world, a real live Queen.

Dylan's Mom was a little quicker to recover, since she already knew Mrs. Miller and her grandmotherly kindness, and assured her new friend, Tony's Mom, that all would work out fine.

Mrs. Miller would hold the reins, that much was clear, and her husband, even though paralyzed, was a man of intelligence and had a wicked humor. Between the two of them her Royal Highness surely would not be anything but the lovely self Mr. Ahmed had told them she was.

Dylan and Omar, for now alone in their room, discussed the events of the last few days.

Benny , the cute little caramel brown Olde English Bulldog, was once again on her young owners bed, sleeping peacefully, snoring a little. Her example made it easier for the boys to relax, and even though the approaching plane of the royal family hung over them like the sword of Damocles, they for once did not talk about any fight the day might bring.

They talked about sex.

Omar was surprisingly open and descriptive:

" Oh fuck, as I first rode a fat rod, I thought I was dying and going to heaven at the same time! He was a member of my Dads personal guard. He was promoted the next day, but also relocated, and now serves on the border."

Omar looked down in shame, since he evidently had known that the palace' walls had ears, and his encounter with the hunky soldier had not been gone unnoticed. Even though he suspected higher ranking officials had their sexual escapades as well, he thought they kept their cool and stayed unnoticed. He, at least, felt like he'd been constantly supervised since his first fuck.

Dylan didn't smile as he heard the voice of his new friend sadden. Dylan's own first few experiences were too good to let them slide, but he fully knew Omar needed his compassion at least as much as some distraction, so he decided not to talk about his first time, but about funny accidents that took place later.

He started, grinning: " You won't believe what you can find in the park if you have a nosy little doggy!" he petted a still sleeping Benny's head.

" She often runs off for a few minutes, and usually comes back with something. Once she came with a jeans, and a screaming guy followed her, since he was having fun in the bushes as she walked up and stole his jeans, together with his wallet and phone and keys."

Omar giggled and prompted Dylan to go on and finish what promised to be a good, funny story.

" The guy had forgotten he didn't wear any undies, and he could be thankful Benny was not after his impressive bone ..boner.. " Dylan giggled his ass off while he told the story of the man who soon after had been arrested for public indecency.

Omar was laying back , giggling as well, as he groaned.

" Wassup my friend, you in pain?" Dylan already had the button for the nurse in his hand.

" No.. no problem as long as you don' t make me laugh!"

As the nurse walked in, with Dr. Austin in tow, Omar laid back again and regained his composure. He had stopped giggling now, and the pain had subsided. Dr. Austin looked at the boys and Benny before he sternly determined:

" You guys seem to be having fun. Too much fun, I suppose? "

He enjoyed the boys' evident embarrassment, relishing the moment as long as he could, before he himself broke into fits of giggles: "Busted, you two!"

He sat down on Dylan's bed, where his moment was spoiled by Benny who woke up just in time to paw her way into his lap and lick his face. Giving in, he just reminded the boys to be careful, especially since Omar's surgery had not been easy and he needed some rest. Without even asking he did what doctors do: He adjusted the drip and increased the amount of pain killers and sedatives in Omar's infusion. The boy was still smiling as he drifted off to sleep.

Dylan was petting Benny as he pouted playfully:

" You don't play fair! We had fun for real, and I guess it was good for him!"

A quick peck on the cheek and his concerns were as forgotten as he protests. His lover carefully inspected the almost invisible scar with the few stitches, his hands softly caressing Dylan's hair.

The man held the boy as they silently talked. Dr. Austin revealed that the plan was for the women to talk to Omar's mother while they were having tea. Ian, meanwhile he would talk to the King and his Chief of Staff , the Ambassador and Mr. Ahmed, and maybe several ministers and even some delegates of the American Government. Omar was Royalty, and his well being was important not only for his family, but also for the relationship between the US and his own country.

Dylan was scared that he might have ruined his boyfriends life and career, and he said so. Ian held him close to make sure the boy understood, since he was also a patient after a life threatening episode.

He carefully explained:

" Listen, Love! The King, Omar Suleiman, has been my friend for years. He and his family trust me, and they trust my intellect as well as my common sense. Don't be nervous for me, Dylan, be nervous for your friend Omar."

He paused for a second, his eyes quickly checking Omar's heart monitor to make sure he would sleep deep enough to be unable to listen to their conversation.

" Omar tried to commit suicide on his motorbike, that much seems clear. He is gay, as you surely know by now, but in his country to be homosexual is a deadly sin and usually gets punished."

Ian petted Benny's head while he carefully considered his next words:

"His father, the King, cannot simply declare their traditions and laws null and void for the sake of his son. He might cause a revolution. I have to tell you I am sure he is the best King his country has had for ages now, and with time he will be able to change many things for the better, but not with one word or his signature on one single piece of paper."

He had known how Dylan felt. The boy's rage boiled over as he forcefully replied:

" That's bullshit! He's the King, he can simply order it!" Dylan was much too involved to be rational enough to think logically, so Ian had to prepare his boyfriend before the King visited his son. Dr. Austin had been more than grateful as Mrs. Miller and Dylan's Mom had asked him for a short talk, and the deep insight the women had and conveyed to him made sure he knew how to handle the dangerous and delicate situation.

The Doctor felt his patient relax while he still caressed his hair and they quietly exchanged notes, figuratively spoken.

The Doctor knew Dylan was planning to deliver a heated speech he had prepared to help his new friend, since he wanted to convince the King to accept his son's lifestyle, his sexuality and the fact that Omar loved Tony.

Ian was able to change his lovers mind, and carefully explained the devious plans the women were to follow. .

Meanwhile Royal Family's the plane had touched down, and the motorcade had reached the city limits. The King and the Queen had been informed that Omar was well but sleeping, and Ian planned to give the two of them all the details about the successful surgery and the most promising process of Omar's healing.

The day had been eventful enough to make Dylan sleepy, and he did not realize that his Mom took Benny with her for a walk through the park, back to Mrs. Miller's Penthouse to meet her friend Kenzo.

The director of the hospital, Dr. Brown, was pacing in his office, not able to relax enough to sit down. He knew down to the last cent how much the money the Kingdom had donated his hospital after the successful heart transplant of the late King, Father of Omar Suleiman and Grandfather of Prince Omar and how it helped helped them to thrive.

The Palace had sponsored the hospital again in preparation of the prince's surgery, and the new MRI and the latest technology of a robot-assisted surgery that was installed in one of the operating rooms was not only extremely expensive, but would provide a help that was beyond a price tag.

Dr. Ian Austin, the man who had pulled the strings behind the two surgeries and by the sponsoring, was the hospital's star by now, and Dr. Brown knew he better not risk their relationship.

Dylan and his dog would have never been allowed inside the hospital, the boy for not being able to pay the bills, and Benny ..... well, Benny for being a dog.

But now , Dr. Brown was nervously pacing around while he waited for the King to be introduced to him.

He looked at his watch and realized the motorcade of their Royal Highness's would arrive soon, so he left his office and basically ran to the back entrance of the clinic, where security was higher and the prominent parents of the hospitals most important high profile patient could be greeted without the Paparazzi and the cameras of the news outlets.

As Dr. Brown walked out, Dr. Austin was already waiting, looking relaxed, checking his mail or something on his I Phone.

Brown addressed him: " Please, Ian.. how do I address the King and the Queen? Your Highness's ..or such ..do I have to bow.. or kneel?"

Ian had to suppress a giggle: " None of those, my friend. Relax and follow my lead. If you really need to be formal, say " Your Royal Highness" , but follow my and Omar's lead and don't be nervous!" Ian did not even realize he had called the King by his first name.

They saw a few black SUV's enter the back parking lot, as the Secret Service Agents that accompanied the Royal Motorcade arrived to check security.

Dr. Austin and Dr. Brown had already been checked, and the two Agents that had arrived earlier gave the heads up to their colleagues, indicating the two Doctors had security clearance , so everything ran smoothly.

Austin knew the two Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV's were manned by the King's Royal Guard, and the next cars would be Rolls-Royce Limousines with their Highness's and the high ranking members of their staff.

The parking lot behind the hospital had been empty as the motorcade rolled in. Now it was full of the most expensive cars that had ever parked here.

Dr- Brown was again overwhelmed, even before he had seen one of the members of the palace. Ian Austin had his hand on his friends shoulder to help him overcome his nervousness, and they both waited the few seconds before the first door opened.

Mr. Ahmed, not only the man being responsible for Prince Omar but also for the boy's parents, looked around one last time before he gave a nod to Dr. Austin and the Secret Service Agents, and several more men jumped out of the SUV's and opened the limousine's doors.

The King stood by the door for a second while his wife, Queen Alia, stepped out behind him..

Ian Austin heard the hospitals chief operating officer, Dr. Brown, hold his breath. He exerted a little more pressure on his shoulder, pushing him forward slightly, leading him just a little, and Dr. Brown was able to concentrate.

As the poor nervous man just wanted to open his mouth to stutter an address of welcome, the King smiled broadly and just shook Brown's hand in a genuine gesture.

Dr. Austin surprised the executive even more as he almost giggled:

" Don't break him Omar, he is a nervous wreck and doesn't need more pressure!"

The chuckle the King gave as he said: " Oh we don't want his, right, Dr. Brown", shaking the stunned man's hand with added warmth. That was all it needed to give Brown enough strength back to take a deep breath and answer:

"uhg uhm ..yeah ..uhm .. I ..I ..mean we.. wanted to greet you ..uhm ..warmly .. your ..uhm ..!"

The Queen saved him by saying: " I am from Connecticut, and so are you, right, Dr. Brown? You must call me Alia, I insist, and my husband is Omar!"

Ian could not help himself, greeting the Queen with a warmth only real friends feel, also helping his friend and colleague Dr. Brown out of his embarrassing situation.

The group walked in, talking like the old friends they were, and even Dr. Brown, now called by his first name, John, had survived the stressful first moments without needing an ICU. They carefully walked through the hallway to look through the glass into the room were Omar and Dylan slept peacefully.

Omar had had his first of many sessions of physical therapy that morning and was exhausted, and Dylan slept peacefully, with a little help of a pill Ian Austin had given him.

The Prince's parents had already been informed about the health of their son, and trusting their son's physician fully, they just watched their son in his bed.

Dr. Austin just said: " Omar needs his rest! He will be wide awake and ready to talk in about six hours, I would estimate. Do you want me to call you when he wakes up?"

The Queen laid her eyes on the bed next to her son. She asked, still full of trust and with warmth in her voice: " And may I ask you why you decided it would be good for Omar to share a room?"

The price the Palace paid was enough to give the Prince a suite, that much was clear.

Dr. Ian Austin, for a second assuming his position as the boy's leading medical doctor, calmly answered: " Because he needs friends!"

---------- This chapter was longer again, as promised, but also ended in a cliffhanger. The next chapter is already in preparation, and will be out real quick this time! ----------------------
