Blast in Bermuda

As the plane prepared to make its final landing at L.F Wade International Airport in the Carribean country state of Bermuda, Freddie Coleman, Tourism teacher at Clifton Highschool, in Cape Town, South Africa, wondered just what the hell he had let himself in for for the next two weeks. The school was nice enough to donate the finances for the senior Tourism class of 2011 to travel literally to the other side of the world, to Bermuda's tropical world of paradise and tropical breezes to do their practical assignment before their final year. Mr Coleman made it very clear to the class that only the top 5 students would be allowed to go, as the finances unfortunately only catered for as much, and therefore the class of sixteen really studied their asses off. Mr Coleman had two students who were always competing with eachother, leaving really the other 14 behind them. He turned around in his seat, casting his eyes over them. Ritchie McCormick and Nathan Barton had totalled the best ever average for a single student in Tourism at Clifton High, effectivetly thrashing a record that had been standing for over 13 years. He knew at once, the first moment that he met them as new freshman attending his class for the first time, that they would be naturals at a subject such as Tourism. The entire class knew that, really, there would only be 3 spots remaining for the trip to Bermuda as Ritchie and Nathan would most definitely occupy the top two. Nathan had infact defeated Ritchie by less than 1% to take the honour as top student. So here they were, for two weeks to work with real tourists who would be visting Bermuda, and its capital of Hamilton. They had learned all they could about Bermuda, since that is what most of the exams were about, so they were pretty confidant and excited at the same time that they would make a success of it, and that the experience that they would pick up, would be invaluble for their future careers. Mr Coleman sighed out loud. Now one would expect Nathan and Ritchie to have much in common and that they would be good friends since they shared the same interest...HELL NO!! It was always Ritchie who was the top student in the Tourism class, it was Ritchie who was the handsome Rugby player and had all the girls he wanted. But then along came Nathan later in their Freshman year, after moving from Port Elizabeth, and since then the rivalry had not just been in the Tourism class, but on the sportsfield aswell. The two absolutely HATED eachother, and there was nothing any one could do about that, however not for the lack of trying. The captain flying the place suddenly spoke and told them it was now safe to unfasten their seatbelts as they were on solid ground. The teacher and his 5 students could not sit still for a moment! There was an incredible journey that was about to begin...but what they didn't know, was that a certain two of them would face the adventure of a life time, one that will be incredibely dangerous, and that they would help uncover a plot which would shake the once peaceful paradise that was Bermuda...

They were welcomed at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess hotel with cute, tasty drinks in coconuts, each student was presented with a coral reef necklace that glittered in the hot and humid afternoon sunlight aswell as by a dance which the local black inhabitants welcomed them in their own language. It was definitely something to treasure forever! They were then assigned to their rooms. Three was booked and payed for, so unfortunately that created the scenario that one of the 5 students would have to share a room with Mr Coleman. Since putting the two girls with the male teacher would be highly inappropiate, it narrowed it down to the three boys.

"Okay guys, now I've been thinking about this since before we left South Africa. Cindy and Jessica, you guys will be sharing a room, since your both girls. Now...Ritchie and Nathan, I think its high time that you guys are forced to work together on something for once, so you will share the second room and then Donnie and I will...

"Fuck no! Im not sharing a room with...THAT!" Nathan cried out in sheer horror, pointing his finger as Ritchie, who also was angered at the decision.

"Language, Nathan! For once, can't you guys let this rivalry aside? I am not asking you, I am telling you! You will both share the room which the school payed for!"

"Why didn't you tell us about this? Then my father could have payed for me to sleep alone or something!" Ritchie kept on banging on.

"Oh excuse me for all of us not having a rich daddy like you to run to every time your nose bleeds!" Nathan sneered, and Mr Coleman had to intervene very quickly before that statement became a reality.

"Nathan and Ritchie, you bring utter fucking shame to Clifton High's name! Look at you! Seventeen years old and still acting like spoilt kids! If you don't share the room, I'll be forced to put you back onto the plane to Cape Town and allow two other of your classmates who really wants to be here, fly over! Is that what you want?"

Nathan and Ritchie looked over to eachother. There was sheer and utter hatred in both of their eyes. Richie hated Nathan for taking away all that he had...the girls's attention, being the main man on the Rugby team aswell as the top place in the Tourism class, as it meant more to him as all his other subjects. Tourism was where his heart layed, and he desperately wanted to be a tour guide in a exotic, foreign country such as Bermuda. Nathan, in turn, although he would never admit it, was fucking jealous of everything Ritchie seemd to have had going for him...a rich, wealthy family, drop dead georgeous looks and being clever aswell. Nathan was brought up in a very poor suburb in Goodwood, Cape Town. There were times in the month were there was absolutely no money left at the 15/16th of the month, where they often had to borrow and work extra jobs. Nathan had to work at the local Spur Restaurant as a child minder, and he only recieved R50 for it per shift, but it helped! As a result of his working, he knew that he could not afford to drop his schoolwork efforts, since it was key in getting a better life for himself and his family. And here was Ritchie...it just didn't seem fair that Ritchie had everything that Nathan wanted out of life. He hated Ritchie...he fucking LOATHED him! But there was no way either boy wanted to be sent home after seeing this beautiful place just off the coast of the United States of America.

"Okay Sir, I'll share the room with Ritchie. But just please tell him to stay out of my way." Nathan grumbled.

"Yeah, and Sir, would you tell Nathan aswell not to even look at me for the entire trip..."

"SILENCE! Both of you! Im not your fucking interpreter, you do it yourselves. I cannot understand why you two are not friends, at the least! Use this time your gonna spend together wisely and hopefully you will see that you have so much in common, just like I do."

And with that, Mr Coleman gave Nathan and Ritchie each their own key to their room and walked off to his own with Donnie. The two girls, Cindy and Jessica, of which Cindy was Ritchie's girlfriend, walked along with them.

"Come on you guys, are you really gonna be this way for two weeks?" Cindy asked miserabely.

"Oh my gosh Cindy, they were like this ever since they met! What makes you think it will change just because we're in Bermuda?" Jessica said sarcastically.

"Because I get what Mr Coleman is saying! You guys should be very close friends! You both play Rugby, you're passionate about the Tourism industry and you're always competing with eachother! You really upset me sometimes," Cindy said tearfully shaking her head before she unlocked their room, and Jessica followed her with a scowl directed to the boys before slamming the door in their faces.

"Now look what you've done, Ritchie Rich!" Nathan said with a sly smile on his face.

"Shut the fuck up," Ritchie said very quietly before placing the key in the lock and opening the door to their room. It was very spacious, with huge windows which outside of it painted a beautiful scenery of the sheer paradise they were in, with crystal clear water, so much so that you could actually see the fish swimming along their merry way. A big screen TV on the living room and a built in kitchen with all the utensils aswell. The bedroom was spectacular with...wait...there was only one bed inside the bedroom...Nathan and Ritchie looked at eachother before storming off towards Mr Coleman's room. Nathan arrived their first and hammered onto the door, until Mr Coleman opened it furiously.

"Nathan! Is your fucking room on fire, or what?" he blasted at him, before Ritchie joined.

"Sir, it was a lot that you asked us to room together, but there is only one fucking bed in that room, and THAT no one can expect of me!" Nathan hissed at Mr Coleman, with Ritchie agreeing.

"Too bad, you're both boys and you knew that finances were cut to the limit on this trip. Its actually very simple, one gets in at the left hand side, and the other on the right. If you didn't notice, its a very big bed indeed, and I really doubt it that two skinny guys like you would actually end up touch eachother while sleeping. Was that all? Then good night!"

For the second time in a matter of minutes a door was slammed in their faces. Nathan ran a hand through his hair while breathing in and out slowly, trying to calm himself down. Ritchie had sunk to the tiled floor in desperation.

"Just wait until my dad hears about this..." Nathan could hear him mumble.

"Oh please, what's he gonna do? Charter a plane out here to buy you one of the hotels?"

"Fuck you, Nathan! If you hadn't come to Clifton at all, I would have not been in this situation!"

"And if you weren't already at Clifton when I got there, neither would I!"

The two boys looked at eachother with sheer disgust on their faces before Nathan turned around and walked back to their room. Ritchie closed his eyes and had no choice but to follow. He was tired after all. It was two very long flights from South Africa to the United States, and from there to Bermuda.

Meanwhile, outside the hotel, someone was sitting at the beachside bar, drinking a Pina Colada smooth, when they recieved a call on their mobile. Ah! They had been waiting long for this one.

"Cristo? Yeah, I have everything under control. I know that you must be worried, but really, I have everything ready. Its just a matter of time before we get what was rightfully ours. Just don't be late tomorrow morning. Gracias."

The clock on the wall in the living room area of the hotelroom was slowly creeping towards 20:00, and although neither boy would normally be yawning already at this time, the effects of the flight and the jet lag for the two first time flyers was getting to them. But neither was ready to go to bed, since that would mean a step closer to sharing that same bed, which neither was looking forward to. Ritchie's head bobbed up and down slightly as he was fighting the need to sleep, and Nathan wasn't far behind either. He turned to telly to ESPN, hoping that the energetics will keep him awake. The last thing he wanted to do was sleep with Ritchie Rich next to him. It was when he heard a "thump" that he saw Ritchie's head hit the back of the sofa, and that's when the latter stood up, clearly giving up the fight.

"Look Nathan, we are both exhausted. Its been a long few days. We have no choice but to share that bed, dude. So lets just make the most of it. Im gonna sleep, and you can join me, but if you don't want to, Im not gonna make you."

And with that, Ritchie walked into the bedroom, and Nathan's face got angrier when he heard the soft matress giving way underneath Ritchie's weight. There was nothing more that he wanted than just to do the same...but NO. He would not give that rich fucker the satisfaction. It was somethere between nine and ten o'clock that he last looked at the clock on the wall before the sleep finally defeated him.

About 4 in the morning, Ritchie woke up with a startle...he had defintely heard something in his sleep outside their room, which caused him to wake up. Ritchie slowly rised himself off the bed and quietly walked over to the bedroom window and peered through the blinds. In the true Carribean nature, some minor sun beams was already starting to generate from the clowds. But he could see nothing out of the ordinary. He just wanted to close up and fall back to sleep when a sudden movement caught his attention. It was a young man a few feet away from their window, and he looked like he was talking to someone on the radio microphone in his hand. It was all in Spanish, so Ritchie couldn't understand a thing. But then another movement caught his eye...someone dressed in what looked like diving gear came rushing out of the nearby ocean, and the young man rushed up towards him. It looked like they were arguing, and then they rushed away, with Ritchie unable to see where they were going. Why would anyone go diving at four in the morning? Ritchie knew that things seemed weird and even dangerous, and he knew he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep now. He walked inside the living room to get to the kitchen, when he saw Nathan on the sofa, fast asleep in what looked like a VERY uncomfortable position. Ritchie sighed. He had envied Nathan ever since he came to Clifton High. All that Ritchie had before Nathan attended Clifton he always took for granted. He never knew that it could be taken away that easily. The truth was, even since meeting Nathan, Ritchie had began feeling stuff that he was hating and that he hoped and prayed would go away. The truth was that Cindy was not appearing in his jack off fantasies as often as she should...but what was freaking Ritchie out, was that he often dreamt about the guy he hated most on this Earth. If there was a God, why would he allow this? Ritchie walked quietly over to Nathan and sat down on the coffee table, studying his sleeping roommate and rival. For the first time, Ritchie allowed himself to really look at Nathan. He was fucking beautiful, thick brown hair standing up in all directions, his athletic toned, six pack body heaving up and down as he slept, and with muscles on his arms and legs that made Ritchie wanna cry out with frustration. Before he met Nathan, it was always Cindy, and it was to Cindy which he had lost his virginity to at age 14. For him, he dreamed to someday marry her and have lots of little Ritchie's running around. But the moment he layed his eyes on Nathan...he knew it was love at first sight, and THAT is why he went out of his way in wanting to beat Nathan at EVERYTHING he possibly could! So that he could SHOW Nathan that he was fighting back these fucked up feelings! That he would NOT give in!! And now...they were rooming together, something that for Ritchie, sitting there in his pj's, quietly watching the boy he loved but hated aswell, was becoming more and more agonising with each moment. Nathan was no doubt gonna have aches and pains all over his body when he woke up, and with them starting training at the tourism agency later that day...Suddenly Ritchie wondered why that would bother him...if he was so damn competitive with Nathan, why would it bother him that his direct competition would suffer? But then a little voice inside his heart answered that question, and he hated it. He hated himself for allowing himself to care about Nathan this deeply. Ritchie stood up and leaned down...very carefully he picked up the skinny boy in his strong arms, trying very hard not to bother him with the electricity flowing through him as he and Nathan were flesh to flesh for the first time. He walked over to the bedroom and careful not to wake him, placed Nathan's sleeping body on the bed and covered it with the soft blanket as best he could. Long he stood there, just looking at Nathan, the boy he loved inside but hated on the outside. Nathan would fuck him up good and proper if he ever knew. Why must life be so fucking complicated? Ritchie walked out to the kitchen and switched on the kettle. His hatred for Nathan had been born from his feelings for him, because he didn't wanna let it be known. But all in all, he loved Nathan. Ritchie really loved Nathan...

A man was seen coming into the hotel, where he saw his associate sitting in the breakfast lounge. Carefully he walked up to him and dropped a file in the chair next to him before walking on further, a movement so swift and quick, no one noticed. The associate waited a few seconds before picking up the file and going through its contents with a eagle eye. This was it. This was the time for their revenge. What was taken years and years ago would finally be theirs once more. If not...Bermuda and all its members would pay...DEARLY.
