Edwin had been asleep in a chair for about an hour after leaving his bed the first time for many months. While Garrett dozed off and on sitting next to him.

Suddenly Edwin began to twist and turn and shouting out loud, screaming and yelling, "No, no don't touch me, don't come near me, no not again." All the commotion brought Doctors Jamieson and Evans along with half the ward staff running in to see what was happening.

Garrett was trying his best to calm him but Edwin was still asleep and yelling, perspiration pouring down his face as he began to tremble uncontrollably. It was obvious to the doctors that he was having a nightmare and reliving by the sound of it the time he was raped and given the aids virus.

Dr Evans gently shook him, slowly waking him up and when he came too he looked around at all the anxious faces wondering what was going on, "It's ok Edwin you were having a bad dream that's all and it's all over now. I think we'd better get you back into bed and give you something to relax you."

Gently Edwin was lifted up and placed back in his bed while the doctor gave him a needle and almost straight away his eyes closed and he was back asleep. Keith Jamison was worried because that was the first time Edwin had recalled what happened to him. He honestly thought he had put that trauma so far back in his mind that it wasn't going to bother him. Now it looked as if he would have to do some work on Edwin to help him forget.

Keith also had another problem which he knew he would have to address very soon and which he had been putting off. The authorities were asking when would Garrett be able to return to the special school workshop ad continue learning a trade. Now that Edwin was on the mend the powers that be thought that Garrett should be back learning a trade. Keith didn't want this to happen if he could help it because he was sure it would be a step backward for his young charge and Edwin would suffer also. Right now he had no idea what to do about this and hoped that he could forestall the authorities until he could come up with a valid reason to keep Garrett and Edwin together all the time.

Davey and of course Johnny Walker had by invitation been invited back to high school so that Davey could represent the school in a gymnastics competition between other schools. They didn't go in every day but about three times a week so that they could train with the other school athletes. Being only fifteen years of age while the majority of the team was much older both young boys were treated with contempt. The fact that they were gay made it even more difficult as well because several seniors were definitely homophobic.

Davey took it all in his stride preferring to concentrate and stay totally focused on his preparation and training. As he explained to Johnny who was a bit unnerved by the taunts and snubs, "As you do moves in karate it is important to clear your mind completely of everything else except the program you are working on. This way you can immerse yourself in your training and think of nothing else, so ignore those senior idiots because eventually you are going to become greater than they are."

Johnny began to giggle and Davey asked what was so funny, "Do you clear your mind like that when we make love as well?"

With a serious look on his face Davey said, "Well yes I do." Then he started laughing before assuring his lover that making love to him was something dear and special and nothing was allowed to stand in its way.

Davey's personal trainer Jonathon Mars heard about the problems the boys were having and wasn't too happy, being worried that this may interfere with his young protégé's training and set back his preparation. He made it his business to talk to the school principle about this. The whole squad along with Davey and Johnny were given a very stern lecture that this type of behaviour was not in the schools best interest and must stop forthwith. Any member of the team who continued with these taunts would be removed.

That appeared to do the trick and while most of the squad didn't talk to the two youngest members of the team they didn't give them a hard time either. With the competition coming up fast, training and dedication was of the utmost.

The other problem which appeared unexpectedly was the fact that Johnny Walkers father who worked in Austin Texas came home for a short holiday. He was disgusted with his wife for allowing the boys to remain in the Joey Alvarez Shelter where they still continued sleeping together and hardly ever came home to visit their families. "Our son should have some family life. While I don't want him to think that I am against him because he's gay as that's something he can't help, but two boys that young living and sleeping together is wrong. I blame you for not putting your foot down or at least talking to me about it." He told his wife.

It was a surprised young Johnny Walker junior who was sitting with Davey in the shelters dining room after training doing his homework when his father stormed in. Being wheelchair bound following a wartime wound, storming may not have been the right word. "I want to talk to you son." He proclaimed and by the look on his face both boys knew this was not going to be a pleasant talk.

"Hello dad, I didn't expect to see you." Were the fateful words uttered by his son.

"I'm sure you're not seeing as none of your family see you anyway."

He explained to Davey that he would like to talk to his son alone and Johnny junior took his father into a small side room, "What is it dad, what's the problem?"

"The problem is you and the fact that your family never see you these days. Let me remind you young man that you are a member of the Walker family which is and will continue to be a close knit family who communicate and get along with each other. Now I know you can't help being gay, it is something that is in your make-up and I don't blame you for that. You have just turned fifteen, still a young boy and should be spending a lot more time under the same roof as you're mother and sister. I know because of my job I can't be there all the time but when I do come home and your mother tells me that she hasn't seen you for almost two weeks, well that's just not good enough."

He paused to let that sink in before continuing, "Also I don't want you sleeping with young Davey all the time that's not right, so in the future after school you will go home to your proper home is that understood?"

"But dad I have training every night either here or at school and don't finish until quite late and that is the reason why Davey and I live here at the shelter." He then went on to explain to his father about the athletic competition and how hard they both had to train. How their coach Jonathon Mars wanted him to train alongside Davey to keep him motivated and that eventually they hoped to go to the Olympic games representing their country.

This set Johnny Walker Senior back in his track because he hadn't been told any of this, in fact he was sure his wife had no idea either, " All right I can understand that and I'm proud that you are making the effort son but don't neglect your family totally. I want you home at least two nights a week for supper and to sleep alone in your own bed, is that understood?"

The young Johnny Walker knew that it was impossible to argue the point any more with his father and nodded in agreement. Just then Davey walked in with Jonathon Mars in tow. He had asked Jonathon to come along and give some moral support because he had a fairly good idea what this was all about. After the introductions were made Jonathon spoke up, "All of us are very proud of your son and have high hopes for him and Davey in helping put their high school back on the map as far as gymnastics is concerned. While Johnny is not up to the same standard as Davey here, he does a wonderful job motivating my young protégé and that is why I would dearly like him to remain at the shelter were we have all the facilities provided most generously by Davey's older brother."

"That's all well and good Mr Mars but he does also have a family. While I am proud of what my son is doing I would like him home for some meals with his family."

"I agree with you wholeheartedly Mr. Walker. May I suggest that a couple of nights a week after training that I take your son home, but I would like him to come back here each evening so that we can go on our early morning training run before breakfast and school?"

"I'm still not one hundred per cent happy with that idea seeing as it means he will still be living here and in the same room as Davey. In my mind they are far too young to be living together and that part of the arrangement I am not happy with. For now Jonathon I will agree to what you are saying but he must come home for supper no matter how late at least twice a week."

With that agreed upon he shook hands all round before leaving. Beaming all over his face Johnny junior said, "Thank you for sticking up for us, you know Davey and I are very much in love and can't bear to be apart. I do also miss seeing mom and my little sister sometimes and I know seeing as they live close to Davey's family we both would love to see more of them but then we have to be strict about our training."

All three of them chatted some more deciding on the best days to do as Johnny's father wanted before Jonathon suggested they finish up their homework and get to bed. After showering and getting ready for bed they climbed between the sheets and began to make out with lots of kissing cuddling and tongue hockey until Johnny broke free and looking at Davey with longing in his eys said, "You realize Davey that I must obey my father. Being from a strict military background he has always brought me up to respect authority so perhaps it will be for the best if I do spend two nights a week at home as he has requested."

These remarks shocked Davey and he began to wonder if his, what he thought would be his lifetime partner was having second thoughts on their relationship, "Does this mean were breaking up, you're growing tired of me?" He asked with trembling lips and tears forming in his eyes.

"Of course not silly, it's just that I must obey my father and you could spend those nights with your family as well." He began to giggle and then laugh.

"What's so funny?" Davey asked.

"Well we do live almost next door to each other anyway. We could take turns of sneaking out at night and into each other's beds. Because of training we would be up very early and running into the shelter for training anyway, so no one would be any the wiser." Both of them cracked up laughing at that thought. Picturing each other climbing out of windows and sneaking among the bushes to the other's home.

Feeling in a better frame of mind and more at ease Johnny leant over kissing Davey on the lips and whispering, "I do so love you Davey and I will be around for ever and ever as your lover and friend." This was followed by more monkeying around and foreplay before they got into the sixty-nine position for two incredible blow jobs.

Sally and Bethany both had some time off so they decided to go into police headquarters and see Pru and Luke about their own particular wedding ceremony. It was a surprise visit and if they were busy then they would turn around and head back home.

In fact they were shown into Luke's office right away and Pru arrived a few minutes after with coffee and doughnuts, "We really should stop eating the doughnuts." Pru said with a laugh before continuing, "But being a police station that's all we have."

After making small talk for a while Sally explained the purpose off their visit, "Bethany and I have decided to make a more permanent commitment to each other regarding our relationship. While we can't officially get married we would like to have some sort of ceremony were we could exchange rings and some sort of vow to each other. We believe there are some celebrants who would be happy to participate in such events. What we would like from you two is firstly your blessing and then any ideas you might have."

Both Pru and Luke stood up and gave both of them a kiss and hug before adding their congratulations, before settling back down and working out some details, "So you're going to tie the knot so to speak before we are." Luke said with a laugh. "Well I think it's wonderful and we both are looking forward to the event. As for a venue, well the ideal place would be the shelter with the boys doing the catering. They did a wonderful job at the official opening with the mayor and it wouldn't cost and arm and a leg either."

The other three decided that was a great idea and Sally said once they have a date she will approach the owners of the shelter for their permission and blessing. Luke checked his phone directory and came up with a couple of people who performed these kind of ceremonies suggesting that they try them first.

The next item was the guest list and several names were added as they went on until Luke burst out laughing. The others looked at him as if he had gone mad or something before joining in when he explained, "You will of course have to invite Pru's parents but at least her mother won't be able to keep raising the subject of when you're going to start a family." He then noticed that both Sally and Bethany laughed but not as loud and as long as he expected. He then realized that more information was coming. "Well." Said Bethany, "We have discussed maybe adopting a child or two and bringing them up as our own. We wanted to know if you could help us there as well Luke with names and numbers of respectable agencies and also what the legal position was as well. Of course this wouldn't be straight away but further down the track"

Luke thought for a while before telling the happy couple that he would do some digging around and try and come up with some answers for them. Personally I think it's a great idea for the two of you to start a family, but now I really must get some work done or the chief will be breathing down my neck. Following kisses and hugs they parted with Sally and Bethany both feeling very happy and contented with the world.

Luke meanwhile was already running late for a meeting with Jason his rookie cop who was working on the schools program with him. In fact, Jason was waiting in the outer office for him armed with a big bundle of banners and posters which he had made, ready for their crime prevention visits into schools.

The work Jason had done was very impressive and showed not only initiative but some skill as well, a fact which Luke remarked on. I always liked to draw and do art at school so I suppose some of what I learnt remained in my head.

Luke was still puzzled about Jason, there was something which didn't quite sit right as far as he was concerned. Jason was a great worker who often stayed back to finish a project and was always in early. He was very keen but something was different about him compared to the other recruits that had come in at the same time, but as long as he did his work and did it well he pushed his doubts to the back of his mind.

These banners and posters would do for some time for the presentations and Jason was given some additional work to fine tune them and get ready for the first talk which was scheduled in three days' time. Luke made arrangements for a full what you might call dress rehearsal tomorrow in front of some of the staff. They were just finishing up when Pru came in suggesting it was time to go home and call it a day. They left together after Jason put all his material away and they left the building together.

It was then that Luke realized what was nagging him, waiting outside was a real hunk of a young man, six foot, blonde wavy hair and smile to die for. Jason's face at first lit up when he saw him and then realizing his boss was with him looked terribly embarrassed. Jason was gay, that was it. Now at that time homosexual police officers while accepted were frowned upon. A sort of don't know don't tell mentality and Jason went white as a sheet when he saw what was obviously his boyfriend waiting.

Luke as they walked down the steps of police headquarters whispered, "Don't worry Jason you're secrets safe with me."

The look of relief on his face said it all as he mumbled a thank you sir. He introduced the two of them to his boyfriend telling Pru and Luke that his name was Francis and they shared an apartment to save costs. Francis certainly was a handsome well-spoken guy who said he worked in a major law firm as a clerk but hoped to become a lawyer.

After shaking hands and saying their goodbyes they headed in different directions with Pru not saying anything but with a secretive smile on her face. Once they were out of earshot she remarked, "Well now you know."

Jake who became Garrett's friend, mentor and roommate at the facility had calmed down ever since he trashed his room because he was missing his friend and lover, Garrett. While regular therapy sessions with Dr Jameson had worked wonders in calming his temper, he secretly was still in love with Garrett and longing to see him, if only to make sure he was all right. He dropped several hints to Keith Jameson but to no avail and he was really hurting inside because he truly loved this guy even though he wasn't sure if Garrett was gay or not.

While he was learning a trade and would soon be graduating into the workforce as an engineer he was lost. Not having any family who wanted to know him he was yearning for male company. The fact that he was totally gay didn't sit too well with his friends at the special school. For a while when he first arrived there he was the king pin and most of the others followed him doing what he asked. That had gradually changed and now being the only black person at the school made him a bit of an outcast as well.

It was finally the day for Luke and his rookie cop Jason to visit their first school to talk to students about violence and firearms in schools and in their neighbourhood in general. Both of them were nervous but especially Jason who had been found out by his boss that he was gay.

While being a gay cop in El Paso wasn't a bad thing it was frowned upon and could make promotion within the ranks more difficult and cause friction with fellow officers. Luke had already assured Jason that as far as he was concerned his secret was safe with him and all he was interested was a job well done.

Today they were at El Paso high talking to groups of senior's selected by the principal. The principal had explained to Luke that among the group were known gang members with a history of violence.

Jason set up all his pictures and posters along with a collection of firearms which had been seized over the years from high schools in the district. The group assembled before them were a tough looking group. Luke's no holds barred graphic presentation set them back a bit because it was obvious that they just expected a this is what's happening guys don't do it sort of thing. But Luke pulled no punches and spoke to them in a language they could understand telling them that if they did carry firearms and use them then they were fucking' idiots. That kind of talk brought a senior police officer down to their level. The gory pictures of shooting victims with their guts' hanging out lying dead on the floor that was passed around by Jason upset some and shocked others. This was the message Luke wanted to get across.

The questions that followed were interesting with some thought provoking points being raised, demonstrating that most of them had taken in and inwardly digested what had been shown to them. When the bell rang for the end of the session and the students moved out to their regular classes several hung around to talk some more. Even a couple of them suggested that they might consider the police force as a career. This is where Jason came into his own explaining the process and what happened at the academy.

On the way back to headquarters Luke thanked Jason for his efforts and they discussed what happened and if anything could be done to improve the talks. They then went on to talk about their next presentation which was in a couple of days' time at an elementary school. They would be talking to younger students and they would have to water down the more graphic parts of their lecture.

Davey had been receiving some strange phone calls of late with someone calling the shelter asking to speak to him. Then when he gets to the phone no one speaks, yet he is sure somebody is still on the line.

This happened once before when his old next door neighbour Jared Dempsey, who seduced Davey, was paroled from prison and tried to contact him. Davey had an uneasy feeling that perhaps history was repeating itself but kept his thoughts to himself not telling anyone, even Johnny.

It all came to a head when one evening he answered the phone and a muffled voice said, "I still love you Davey."

"Is that you Jared?" Davey asked and there was a click as the phone went dead. Davey was puzzled and also a bit scared because he wasn't sure if it was Jared or not so he decided to remain silent about the whole affair. The trouble was both Johnny and Jonathon Mars spotted that there was a problem due to the fact that Davey's training had taken a downturn and that something was bothering him.

When they tackled him about it he flared up telling them to mind their own fucking business which was totally out of character for this passive mild tempered young man. Johnny was upset thinking that he had done something to upset his lover but after racking his brains for some time could think of nothing. Both him and Jonathon decided separately to wait and see and when Davey was ready to talk about he would.

To be continued.

Writers corner. Well here we are with another chapter in the Davey saga and several changes are now taking place as some plot lines change or come to an end.

Edwin continues to improve although the nightmares are something new. The other problem looming is will the authorities split up Edwin and Garrett by making him go back to the special school to learn a trade and will Jake try to resume his gay relationship with Garrett?

Sally and Bethany appear to be determined to cement their relationship even further with a civil ceremony even if it will not be recognized in the state of Texas. I hope all goes well for them.

Luke and his gay sidekick Jason had the first school lecture completed successfully but will this success continue?

Johnny Walker's father also appeared in this chapter and put his foot down with a firm hand, but being away with his job the boys still have more or less a free reign and while Davey's training is progressing well what about those mysterious phone calls? Is it is old lover Jared Dempsey looming in the background or something more sinister. Only time will tell.

Please let me know what you think by contacting me through my e mail address and also welcome back to my editor Richie who spent most of the time on a cruise ship dodging around `Sandy' by going round in circles.

Hugs

Editors corner.

Trevor, what an intense chapter this has been. You have covered so much territory with so many of the players. I am praying for Edwin and that he and Garrett eventually become an item. It is scary though about the dreams poor Edwin is experiencing. I am scared for him that the bastard who gave him AIDS to begin with is possibly now back in the picture. I am definitely going to be looking forward to the next chapter to hopefully find out more.

It was really nice to see Sally and Bethany go to Luke and Pru and ask for their blessing. I hope they are able to have a really nice ceremony with no protests.

I think Luke needs to let Jason know that his mom is gay. That will help this poor guy know that Luke is serious when he says it does not matter to him and that he will keep his secret. Glad the presentations went well.

It will be very interesting to see who the mystery caller is to Davey. Most likely it is Jared Dempsey. The big question is, will he cause problems for Davey and Johnny.

It is good to be back home. As Trevor mentioned I was on a cruise ship that was supposed to go from Baltimore to Bermuda. Never got there. We went to sea for a day and then anchored in the Chesapeake Bay off the Virginia coast. Because the captain was able to point the ship into the wind the ship remained quite calm. Anyway, good to be back.

Again, I ask our readers to please let Trevor know how you are enjoying his story. I know I love it. It is the only payment he gets for all his work in writing a truly amazing story.

Have a great day....

Richie
