><> (: ~ :) <>< LANEY'S 'point of view' ><> (: ~ :) <><

Here's a shock, the whole 'Purvis Weird Call' incident from the day before is still on my mind 24 hours later. I even dreamed about it last night, I noted, as I rolled out of bed this morning and went for a shower. Reggie, as always, was planted in front of Taylor's door as I came out of the bathroom a few minutes later. I petted her as she barked a 'Good morning' to me, then sat down in the floor and rubbing her belly as she rolled over and pleaded for it.

"Why is this thing bugging me so much?" I asked Reggie. "It's like something I need to know is on the other end of that phone number."

"What phone number?" Taylor asked as she opened her door and looked down at me.

"Nothing my girl," I said as I rose and kissed her good morning. I love the way she grins at me every time I do that.

"You been brooding about this since last night," Taylor pointed out. "And don't deny it. Now what is it?"

"Purvis called and said he got a call from some guy who said he had information that me and Grandpa would want to know," I said. "Honest."

"Did he give Purvis a number to call him back?" Taylor asked.

"Yeah and for some reason I'm hyper about it," I said. "Just a weird feeling."

"You got the number on your phone?" Taylor asked as she took my phone and looked at the address book for a moment.

"Jessie, Michael, Laila, Grandpa, Easter Bunny..." Taylor said as she scrolled through my address book.

"Shut up," I said as she giggled.

"That the number?" Taylor asked as she came to the first one she didn't recognize. I simply nodded and watched in shock as she hit send and dialed out to the mysterious number and waited for it to connect.

"What are you doing?" I asked before Taylor waved her hand to hush me and grinned as if the call connected.

"Hello, is the Easter Bunny there?" Taylor asked as I looked at her as if she were crazy, not thinking in that moment that she was pulling my chain. "I wanna talk to him I don't give a fuck if he is busy. I didn't get my Easter eggs this year."

"Give me that damn phone," I said as she laughed and handed me the phone. I quickly put to my ear and was surprised at what I heard, "Message 504. The number you are trying to reach has been disconnected or had it's number changed. No further information is available at this time. Message 504."

"Disconnected?" I asked in confusion.

"It's a case of old Purvey getting rattled again," Taylor said. "You know how he is. He probably got everything confused."

"He might have gave me the wrong number?" I asked.

"Probably not," Taylor said. "He always remembers numbers. And can for years on end, you know that."

"Talk about a huge let down," I said as Taylor laughed. My phone buzzing a moment later as we hugged and making me nervous again until I looked at the number and realized, to my relieve, that it was simply Jessie calling to wake me up as she does almost every morning. "Hello?"

"Wake up hillbilly," Jessie giggled.

"I was already up corn sucker," I said as she laughed harder.

><> (: ~ :) <>< TAYLOR'S 'point of view' ><> (: ~ :) <><

"You hungry my Shaggy Waggy?" I asked Reggie as I rubbed her head and she barked her immediately reply. Laney disappeared into the bathroom with her cell phone as I followed a happy Reggie down the steps to find Dad, Grandpa and Mom... I mean Carolyn, already in the kitchen with breakfast almost ready. I joined Carolyn by the stove and felt a warm feeling floor my body as she smiled at me and hugged me good morning with her free arm. "You fixin me anything?"

"Of course I am beautiful," she said as I gave her my best smile. "Laney coming down?"

"Heading for the shower when me and Reggie came down," I said. Reggie whimpered from beside me wanting some food; I petted her and a few moments later poured her a bowl of food and laughed as she attacked it.

"Did you call that daughter of yours back?" Dad (Richard) asked Carolyn.

"Raegan called again?"

"She did and this time I took your advice and called her back," Carolyn said as she scooped the Spanish Potato Omelet into a large serving dish. "And she's fine."

"Nothing wrong?"

"Oh there's plenty wrong, she's my kid so that should tell you something," Carolyn said as I laughed. "Besides she's not gonna tell me even if something was wrong. But she did let it slip that her new boyfriend was lurking around and she had to go."

"Mickie said she mentioned him," I commented as I joined the other three at the table, while Carolyn dished out the food. "You catch a name?"

"Told me his name was Randy," Grandpa said.

"Oh yeah, morning Grandpa," I said as he grinned and let me kiss his cheek. "You talked to Raegan?"

"I answered the phone," Grandpa said. "Seems like a sweet girl."

"She is," I said and blushed as I realized how that sounded. "I just mean that she's a whole lot different than anyone else knows."

"She's different alright," Carolyn said with a smirk as I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"You'd shouldn't talk," I said with a finger point as Carolyn laughed and whacked me on the back of the head. I got up to pay her back when Dad stopped me with a hand on my stomach and said, "Leave your mother alone."

"OH come on dad let me treat her the way I did my old Mother," I said as Carolyn and Grandpa laughed. Dad stifled a giggle before he too began to laugh. The doorbell sounded and drew the attention away from the good times in the kitchen. "I'll get that, you old timers enjoy your food."

"I'll show you old time..." Carolyn said as she pinched my butt on the way by and sent me running out of the room laughing. That though would end rather quickly when I noticed who was at the door. Of all people in this world to visit on this sunny Cleveland morning... my mother, Viera. I took a long deep breath and heard the pitter patter of Reggie's paws as she came to join me. She sat down and looked up at me happily as I petted her. Mom finally noticed me and motioned for me to open the door.

"What?" I asked as I opened the door and took a step onto the porch.

"What do you mean by that? How are you?" Mom asked as she tried to hug me and I blocked her. "You still mad at me? It's been three long months Taylor, I was hoping we could..."

"I'm not still mad, I'd rather just not talk to you," I said matter-of-fact.

"Dear lord please be with me in this time," Mom said, sounding a bit odd cause I'd never known her to be overly faithful. "Sweetie I have forgiven you for all of your indiscretions."

"And I haven't forgiven you for any of the horrible things you said and did," I replied.

"All I tried to do was keep you on the path to heaven!"

"OK, you can leave now cause you've been brainwashed by those psycho bible thumpers and you are not taking me to the looney bin with you when they lock you up," I said firmly.

"I am perfectly in charge of my faculties," Mom demanded. "Nothing unhealthy about a strong belief in God."

"Believing in God is one thing and believing because someone is gay that they're somehow less than human is repugnant," I said.

"No one thinks that," Mom said in her usual 'that's just silly' voice. "You're just being abusive."

"You think that," I accused as Mom's eyes grew narrow and she gave me a look that was meant to show that she'd had enough of my mouth. That sparked a response, not from me, but Reggie, who first growled and then let out a nasty sounding bark as she rose to all four paws. "Reggie, it's OK, she's just leaving."

"Why can't you just stop being so damn hard headed and realize that what you're doing is immoral," Mom snapped as she took a few steps back upon hearing another nasty sounding bark from Reggie. I grinned despite the moment as I'd pretty much just revealed what I knew my Mother really felt, she had grown to hate gays and now it was very clear to me.

"And you said what I already knew," I said. "You hate your own daughter for loving someone that you can't except and I do love her. Shut up. I'm done having panic attacks over you and feeling like my life was over because you're a bigot. I don't want you to be my Mom anymore."

"You are so filled with hatred and you can't see that all you need is the..." Mom said and suddenly clamming3 up as Laney appeared behind me.

"What's going on?" Laney asked as she moved her hand gently to my lower back. "You OK?"

"I was having a conversation with my daughter before you so rudely interrupted," Mom said in an angry voice. "Go back in the house."

"Bite my ass Cruella," Laney said as I laughed. "No one wants to talk to you."

"Laney, Taylor?" Carolyn said as she came to the door and stepped onto the porch. "Who's this?"

"No one important," I said as Mom now stood on the sidewalk.

"I am her Mother and who are you exactly?"

"Dad's new girlfriend," Laney said with a smug smile.

"He's already moved on? But we've just barely divorced," Mom said in shock.

"Hey what can I say, when you broke up your marriage you did a damn good job," Laney said as I laughed.

"You will both live to regret the way you are treating me," Mom said with a finger point. Reggie had apparently heard all she was gonna listen to as she went tearing down the steps barking and scared Mom into screaming and running off down the street. Reggie chased her a hundred feet or so and then stopped and trotted back to meet us.

"Good girl," I said as I leaned down and petted her as she reached the porch. "I'll bet Cruella won't come back anytime soon."

"Don't be so hard on her," Carolyn said and put an arm around each of our shoulders. "She must be going through hell right now. And you two could try and make it easier."

"Huh?"

"You been smoking something?"

"I'm just saying that if she ever comes out of this hate slash religious conversion that you shouldn't give up on a relationship with her," Carolyn said. "Don't lose that hope."

"It's just hard to imagine that happening," I said as Carolyn hugged me and again I just felt like nothing in the world could make things go bad in those few moments.

><> (: ~ :) <>< MICKIE'S 'point of view' ><> (: ~ :) <><

"Did you see Taylor on your way out?" I asked Jessie as we stood by the car in the school parking lot and the final bell for the day sounded.

"I saw her in the office with Sierra," Jessie said.

"Sierra? Isn't that yours and Laney's friend from the porn shop?" I asked.

"Uh huh, but now she's working here full time," Jessie informed me. "Why?"

"Just wanting to know what my sister is up to," I said and following that with a poke to the stomach as Jessie laughed. Both of us smiled even now, and it's been like 3 months, but we are still on a high about being sisters.

"Here comes your girl toy," Jessie said as she ran off to meet Laney as Taylor bounced down the steps and came to meet me by the car. She kissed me and then watched Jessie sway away into the distance.

"Hey," I said to get her attention. "That is my sister you are gawking at."

"MMMMMM HMMMM," Taylor cooed as I laughed. "What? You can look at Laney like that and I won't complain."

"After what you told me you saw them doing I might do just that," I said with a soft kiss. "MMMMMMMM."

"Oh yeah," Taylor said and following it with one more kiss. All of the good times got broken up by a clearing of the throat, both of us looking to see a girl with a severely sourpuss of a look on her face. "Yes?"

"You Taylor Rangewater?" Sourpuss Girl asked.

"No, but I am Taylor Raynewater!"

"Whatever," she said with a flip of the hand. "I'm Carrie Ames and we need to talk."

"OK," Taylor said as she turned and pulled my arms around her. "About?"

"I've heard, from a reliable source, that Mr. Kennedy wants you to run for Student Body President," Carrie said. "And I just wanted to make it clear to you and your... friend... that you had better not even think about it."

"First I've heard of it," Taylor said. "And for your info, this is my girlfriend, not my uhhhh friend."

"I don't care what you two think you are," Carrie snapped. "But I do wanna hear you tell me you're not running cause this year, is my year to run this school and no one will stand in my away."

"Are you not listening?" Taylor asked. "I've never thought about it before. You must have heard Mr. Kennedy talking about us starting up a chapter of the Gay/Straight Alliance."

"Won't happen when I become President," Carrie bluntly stated. "The Student Body President has say so over how and when the clubs are formed and meet."

"Mr. Kennedy asked us to do it," Taylor said as she glared at Carrie. "Epic fail there Ms. President."

"You just better stay out of my way or I will make you regret it," Carrie said in a nasty bitter tone. "You hear me and I wanna hear you say yes Carrie."

"I've had enough of your mouth bitch," Taylor said with a finger point. "You either get out my face or I'll give you a story to tell on me. The one about ME KICKING YOUR ASS."

"Calm down, Tay, calm down," I said as I held her tight in my arms and we watched Carrie storm off.

"Bitch does not wanna push me or I will run against her just to beat her bigot ass," Taylor seethed.

"She's a nasty little viper alright," I said as I kissed the back of Taylor's neck. "Can I be your Vice President?"

"MMMMMMM yes you can, maybe we can even switch positions once in a while," Taylor suggested as I laughed out loud.

"GIRLS!"

"Yeah?" Taylor asked as she saw Mr. Kennedy's head poking out the door.

"My office first thing in the morning?" he asked. "Get things rolling for the GSA?"

"You know it," I said. He smiled and headed back inside as Darcy came out of the building chatting with Sierra and both came to join us.

"You can really get me a job?" Darcy asked Sierra as she stopped by us. "I could really use one with my Aunt being a pain about giving me money."

"I'll look around and find you something over the weekend," Sierra said. "Cause you need to stay in school."

"Sammi would kill me if I dropped out," Darcy said as everyone laughed. "Sad thing is, I care more about her opinion of me than me anyone else."

"What? Even over me Dar Dar?" I asked as Darcy laughed.

"Yes even over you Mick Mick," Darcy said and this time it was Taylor who laughed. "Can I bum a ride?"

"Insulting me with one breath and asking for a favor with the next," I said as Darcy gave us that adorable dimpled grin. "OK, pick up Sammi first?"

"You're the best," Darcy said. "Ready to roll?"

"Let's do it," I said as all three of us piled in and Sierra said her goodbyes and headed back to the office. We made the cross town trip to pick up Sammi in about fifteen minutes or so. We arrived to find her wrestling with Carolyn's dog, Reggie, in the front yard of the Marvel's place. Grandpa Hal and Mavis were relaxing on the porch as we pulled in. Reggie left Sammi laying in the yard laughing as she ran to meet Taylor by the car.

"Hey my shaggy Waggy," Taylor said as she petted her. Darcy pulled Sammi up as she joined her in the yard.

"Did she leave you hanging SammiKins?" Darcy asked.

"Bite me," Sammi said as she took Darcy by the belt and pulled her along towards the car as everyone laughed.

"Stop that," Darcy demanded as her and Sammi started play fighting.

"You two take them with you and don't come back till they're worn out," Mavis said from the porch.

"You guys wanting some snuggle time?" Taylor asked with a smirk.

"Get going before I take my belt off," Grandpa Hal said as he stood. Everyone laughed as we piled into the car and found that poor Reggie was now whining to go with us. Pawing at the door.

"Can we take her? I'll watch her," Sammi asked. "She'll love... where we going again?"

"Mickie?" Taylor asked. "It's your car."

"You clean anything she leaves in my car out?" I asked. Taylor nodded and opened the door and let Reggie scramble into the backseat and settle in between Sammi and Darcy. With that we finally headed to my place to check on Mom and then hopefully down to the storage unit as Dad agreed to once again pay us if we sorted out and threw away all of the crap in those thousand or so boxes we'd already moved. But arriving home some fifteen minutes later brought a surprise. Not only was Ryan's truck in the front yard, a massive amount of dirt was currently filling the back of it and a loud noise was coming from the backyard that sounded and looked like someone was using a backhoe.

Everyone piled out as I asked, "Who let that hoe near my house?"

"Damn Mick that was bad even by my standards," Darcy said as I laughed and had to agree. Taylor laced her fingers with me as we made our way around the side of the house, Sammi now with Reggie on a leash. "WOW, you're getting a pool, huh Mickie?"

"How can you tell?" I asked as Taylor laughed. Ryan and Alex spotted us and stopped all work as they came over to meet us. "Hey, what's up now?"

"Michael decided to hire us on to put in a pool," Alex said. "Ryan's buddies are doing most of the work we're just helping out with moving the dirt."

"We're getting a pool?"

"What your Dad said," Ryan commented. "A nice one too."

"Well if it ain't a pool you guys are making a huge mess for nothing," Darcy giggled.

><> (: ~ :) <>< TAYLOR'S 'point of view' ><> (: ~ :) <><

"You're goofy," I said to Darcy with a finger point. Then I kissed Mickie and said, "I'll check on your Mom for a while. You and Dar Dar gonna play in the mud?"

"We sure are," Darcy said as she took Mickie's hand and dragged her off. Ryan and Alex joined them and gave a tour of the soon-to-be-pool site.

"Wanna come?" I asked Sammi as she grinned and Reggie barked as she lead the way. We found Laila resting on the couch in front of the TV. She smiled as she saw us come in. "Hey."

"Oh thank the good lord someone to talk to who's not male," Laila said as I laughed. "Sit down?"

"Reggie noooo," I said in protest as Reggie went scampering onto the couch and laid down by Laila as she smiled. "Girl get down."

"She doesn't have to," Laila said as she petted Reggie. "You're a pretty girl."

"She's made another friend," I said as Sammi and I took seats on the floor as Reggie laid her head on Laila's lap and looked at me with one eye. "You got lucky that time."

"That's Taylor's Shaggy Waggy," Sammi said.

"Didn't know you had a dog," Laila commented.

"She really belongs to my Dad's new girlfriend, Carolyn," I said.

"So the divorce is final?"

"Pretty much," I said. "No hope of them getting back together."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Laila said.

"It's better this way," I said. "Now Mickie and I can be ourselves and just be in love. My Mom didn't want that."

"I have always wanted my daughter to be happy and in love," Laila said. "How narrow minded can you be to nitpick something like that?"

"A lot of people do in the name of the lord," Sammi said. "They love everyone you know?"

"Laughable at best, sick at worst," Laila said as we agreed. Michael coming3 in through the backdoor from which Sammi and I had just come in.

"Who's your new friend?" Michael asked.

"This is Reggie," Laila said. Everyone laughed when Reggie rolled onto her back to get her belly rubbed. Something that Laila happily did a moment later.

"She's kind of my new dog," I said. "She adopted me."

"Kinda like Alex and Mavis did with me," Sammi giggled.

"But you're much cuter, SammiKins," I said as I bumped my shoulder against hers.

"Hush," Sammi said with a finger point and a crimson red blush.

"So how's the pool coming?" I asked Michael as he sat down by Reggie on the couch.

"Very slowly," he said. "But Ryan and Alex are hard workers and their friends are too, so I think we can have it done in no time."

"Doorbell," Sammi said. "Want me to get it?"

"If you don't mind," Michael said as Sammi hopped up and went to do just that. "Should be Doctor Rice she's dropping off the new medicine for Laila."

"A doctor that makes house calls?" I asked, thinking that that didn't even happen back home anymore.

"Virginia is a good friend and she's just doing us a favor," Michael commented. "She wants Laila off her feet as much as possible."

Sammi came back into the room with the aforementioned Dr. Virginia Rice following her.

"Afternoon everyone," Doctor Rice said as Sammi rejoined me and the Doctor took a seat in the chair opposite Michael and Laila.

"What's up Doc?" Michael asked her as we all laughed.

"You know that's only funny the first thousand times," Dr. Rice said. "Anyway, I have the prescription and some news that's better discussed in private."

"Is it serious?" Michael asked. "Just tell us... I can't wait."

"Michael, maybe we should ask Taylor and Sammi..."

"No it's not that kind of news," Dr. Rice said.

"Just tell us," Michael demanded.

"You're having twins, Michael!"
