Now just to remind you this story is completely fantasy and it is not meant to be taken for reality. I do not know what the boys are currently doing or where they are so this story will not be based on what they are actually doing in the present.

Since I have depicted both Kevin and Brian as gay, I do hope you know that this is a fantasy, and in no way true. Kevin has married his fiance and Brian is engaged to LeighAnn Wallace. So I just want to wish them all the happiness in the world...they deserve it.

Kevin & Dustin Chapter 48

By: NM

The next weeks were rough between all of the guys. Kevin wasn't speaking to me or Brian, Nick wasn't speaking to me or Brian, Howie was off in his own world not really worrying about what was happening between us, and Alex was the only one who would talk to me. I did feel bad for Brian, because he didn't have anyone to talk to.

There performances weren't up to par either. All the guys with the exception of Howie were missing cues and, sometimes they messed up some of their dance steps, but they were able to recover without too much difficulty.

The rides to the next cities on the bus were extremely tense. Kevin stayed inside his bunk with the curtain shut, coming out only to use the restroom, eat, or if it was the next stop. I stayed in the back lounge keeping to myself. No one besides Alex would talk to me now, and Howie was just keeping to himself. Nick and I were growing closer, but that was hindered now because he feels I'm responsible for his break-up with Brian. Apparently, he still has some small feelings for him. Alex was trying his best to keep my spirits up, you could tell, but it wasn't working.

"Dustin, did you hear a word I said?" Alex asked waving his hand in front of my face to bring me out of my trance.

"Sorry no." I replied staring out the window.

"I said, that I was planning on hitting the mall at the next city since we don't have to do anything that morning. Do you want to come with me?" He asked again.

"Sure." I replied without much care.

"I'm going up to the front." Alex said getting up and walking towards the kitchen and front lounge area.

I just nodded at him and continued to stare out of the window. This was not working for me. I can't live like this. But then again, it is my fault. Maybe if I had told Kevin it happened sooner, he might not have gotten as mad.

"Dammit." I cursed silently.

"What's wrong?" I heard a voice from behind me ask.

"Nothing. I never thought you would want to talk me now." I said carelessly.

"Why would you think that?" He asked.

"With everything that has happened. I just thought that..." I responded while staring at the passing cars. "I just thought you would be upset for telling Kevin about us."

"Dustin, I will always want to talk to you. I just thought it would be best to give you some space." He explained.

"Well Brian, then I think you should give me more space." I requested.

"I don't want to see you hurt." He stated sitting down next to me on the couch.

"This isn't a good idea." I sighed scooting away from him.

"What? I can't sit next to a friend?" He asked scooting a bit closer.

"It wouldn't be advisable after what happened." I reminded him trying to scoot further away, but I was at the end of the couch.

"Dustin, things happen for a reason. Maybe this was fate saying you and Kevin don't belong together." Brian suggested.

"No, I think that was all your doing. We both made mistakes. I never should have come to you those few months ago after Kevin and I had a fight about the whole `Michael incident.'" I said holding in my tears. "Maybe if I had gone to one of the others, none of this would have happened, and I would still be with my fiance." I choked out.

"But, it didn't happen that way. Don't dwell on the past. Try and look to the future. A future with me in it." Brian requested placing his hand on my shoulder.

"All right." I said. "I will look to the future." I replied.

"Great." Brian smiled placing his arm around me completely.

"A future that has me and Kevin working this out and getting back together. And you only as a friend...if that even." I said standing. I looked up and saw Kevin standing there.

"Kev...it isn't what it looks like." I said.

He just turned around and walked back into his bunk. I started following him and as started to get into his bunk I stopped. Am I doing the right thing?' I asked myself. Is Kevin who I really want to be with?' I asked myself again. He makes me happy.' I told myself. And I love him.' I said. "He is the one I want to be with." I said out loud without realizing it.

"Then don't rub it in my damn face all right!" I heard Kevin yell at me.

"No Kev...you misunderstood...I don't want Brian...I want you." I tried to explain. He didn't listen, and shut the curtain, once again closing his bunk off from the rest of the bus. I heard some faint sobbing coming from the other side. It made me want to pull the curtain back and gather him in my arms, and let him know everything would be all right, but I hesitantly decided against it.

I climbed into my own separate bunk and also closed the curtain. Not so much as to close myself off from everybody. But as an attempt to block myself from the sobbing sound coming from the bunk directly across from me. Bit by bit it my heart was being torn apart as I listened to the sobs come from across my bunk. I was responsible for his pain and heartache, and it was starting to seem as if there wasn't anything I could do to rectify the situation.

"Dustin, wake up. Were at the next city," Alex said shaking me gently.

"Thanks for waking me up Alex," I said while yawning.

I glanced over Alexander's shoulder to see the curtain of Kevin's bunk pulled back, and the bunk empty. Alex noticed my stare. "He's already in the hotel," Alex stated. I nodded in response but continued to stare into the empty bunk.

"Come on this is home for the next 2 days," He said offering me his hand as he stood from the bunk. "Let's get in the hotel and up to our room." Alex said.

I accepted his hand and allowed him to help pull me up from the bunk.

I almost started to correct what he had said, but stopped. Now I did share a room with Alex. Ever since the fight, Kevin and I had stopped sharing a room. Not that I didn't expect that, but I had hoped he would at least talk with me, but so far even that wasn't happening.

"Ok, everyone, here are your room keys," Howie said handing each of us a plastic keycard.

"Today we rest up for a few hours, then head to the venue later this afternoon for tonight's show," the tour manager informed us.

All the guys nodded their heads in approval and everyone headed for the elevators. The elevator ride was long, and uncomfortable with the 6 of us in one tight space. Kevin was taking extra precautions to distance himself from me and Brian, as was Nick, which left Brian standing by me, which only seemed to make Kevin eve madder at me.

The elevator stopped at our floor and everyone filed out and proceeded down the hallway to their respective rooms. I caught up with Alex, "what room are we in?" I asked.

"We aren't sharing a room tonight D," Alex informed me.

"I'm in room 924, and by the looks of it," he said reading off of my card, you are in room 925," he said as we continued walking.

I saw that my room was right across from his, and Kevin was standing in front of room 925. "Hey Kev," I said quietly. He didn't respond so I spoke again, "Looks like the guys stuck us in the same room in hopes of --," I started but he abruptly cut me off.

"Save it Dustin," He said with anger. "I know what the guys are trying to do. Just leave me alone for the next two days and there won't be a problem," He said using his key to open the door. He walked in the room and turned on the lights. It was a normal hotel room. `Thank goodness the guys at least got a room with 2 beds,' I said to myself upon entering the room.

Kevin put his stuff on the bed closer to the door. I walked in and placed my things on the other bed. A few minutes later, bellhops brought up all of the luggage, and I placed mine on the floor beside the bed.

"I'm going to go for a walk," I said placing my key to the room in my pocket.

Kevin didn't respond, instead he continued to put away some of his things.

"I may get a soda from a vending machine while I'm down there, would you like me to get you one?" I offered politely.

Kevin didn't respond, so I took his silence as a no. I turned and started walking for the door. As soon as I opened the door I heard it. I heard him whimper. I almost turned around and ran to him, but he would have just brushed me off anyway, so I ignored him and went for my walk.

After about half an hour my walk was pretty much over. I finished my bottle of iced tea I had bought and was heading back up to my room.

I opened the door and walked in the room. I heard the sound of running water as I slowly shut the door.

I walked over to my bed and pulled out my laptop from the briefcase. I set it up on the table and booted it up. While it was booting up, I took the phone cord I had and plugged it into the phone jack on the wall. I sat down in front of my laptop and began the process of getting on the Internet.

I turned my head to the side and was surprised at what I saw. Kevin was standing in the room with nothing on.

"Oh...umm...I'm sorry. I didn't know you were in here," Kevin apologized reaching for his clothes that were placed neatly on his bed.

"You don't have to apologize Boo," I whispered but loud enough so he could hear.

I got up slowly and walked over to him. As I was walking over he pulled on his boxer shorts and was beginning to put on his sweatpants.

"Kev," I asked quietly while reaching out for his shoulder. Surprisingly he didn't flinch or tear himself away. He just stood there, not moving...quiet. I decided to take an even bigger chance and pulled him closer to me. He moved closer to me when I did. `He's not mad anymore!' My conscious screamed at me.

I pulled him into my arms and he shocked me by allowing me to hug him. But I never felt his arms close around me returning the hug.

"Kev," I whispered pulling myself away to look at him in the face.

"I can't do this," He said pulling out of my arms. He grabbed his sweatpants from the bed and resumed getting dressed.

"You can't do this?" I asked repeating what he said. "What can't you do?" I asked pointing at him.

"This," He said waving his hands in the air, "I cant do this."

"I don't understand," I said.

"We can't just hug eachother and pretend that nothing happened," He said.

"But NOTHING happened. With the exception of a kiss or two, nothing happened," I yelled.

"Yes something happened. You have no idea how I feel right now!" He screamed.

That set me off. "I have no idea how you feel?" I asked. "I have no idea!" I yelled. "YES, KEVIN I DO HAVE AN IDEA!" I screamed.

"Don't," He began.

"Don't what? You have NO RIGHT to tell me that I don't know how you feel. Or did you forget I was on the side you are on now not too long ago when you slept with David!" I yelled.

I heard the door open slightly from behind us and saw the guys standing outside the door.

"So what, this is payback for what I did?" Kevin asked in anger.

"No this isn't payback! What happened between Brian and me doesn't even compare in this situation. I DIDN'T SLEEP WITH BRIAN! YOU DID SLEEP WITH DAVID!" I yelled.

"So that just makes it all better?" He asked.

"No, it doesn't make it better. Nothing can make it better except your forgiveness. God Kevin, why can't you forgive me? If I can forgive you, why can't you forgive me?" I pleaded.

"Because I can't!" He yelled.

"BUT WHY?!" I screamed. "What makes it so difficult?"

"It just is all right." He said reaching for his t-shirt.

"Just forget it," I said grabbing my key off the table. I headed for the door and the guys moved out of the way.

"Dammit," I heard Kevin say. "Dustin wait," I heard him yell after me. I turned and looked as he was chasing me down the hallway followed by the guys.

I started walking faster and reached the elevators. I hit the button and waited. "Dustin?" Kevin asked approaching. The guys appeared and Brian stepped forward.

I started walking for the stairway. I couldn't stand being around any of the guys right now.

"Dustin, wait." I heard Brian say as he began to walk after me as well.

"Don't you even," Kevin said moving in front of Brian.

"Don't what?" Brian yelled. "Don't be happy!?"

"I can't believe you, Brian! I can't believe my own cousin is trying to steal my boyfriend from me!" Kevin yelled.

"What do you mean trying," Brian grinned, "Obviously I have, or else he wouldn't have left you in the first place to be with me." Brian argued. "Besides, if you knew how to fulfill your men, they wouldn't have to come running to me for it, now would they?"

"You son of a bitch!" Kevin yelled as his fist connected with his cousin's jaw. Brian immediately hit him across the face in the same manner Kevin had hit him. There was an eerie moment of silence.

"Brian, stop." I begged.

"Well not to go all schoolyard on the two of you, but he hit me first." Brian said enraged as I had my hands on Kevin keeping the two of them separated.

"Get your hands off of me, Dustin! Until you choose between

Brian and I, I don't want your hands on me ever again!" He yelled. "I can stand to look at the two of you right now! I'm outta here!" He said storming off down the hall in anger.

"NO KEV!" Brian yelled going around me and catching up with his cousin, "This isn't over. Let's settle this right now." Brian demanded.

"Get the hell out of my way Brian," Kevin stated.

"Or what," Brian said.

"Sorry cuz," Kevin said. Kevin punched Brian in the stomach and threw him into the wall.

I looked back to see Brian collide with the wall. "KEVIN!" I screamed.

Brian got up quickly and charged Kevin who was now walking toward the elevator. I stepped back to dodge them but realized that I had just made a fatal mistake. I was now halfway off the step and was starting to fall backwards.

"Help!" I screamed.

Both Kevin and Brian stopped their fight and looked my way. They both started to come and help me, but Brian tried to be the hero and push Kevin out of the way. Kevin recoiled and pushed Brian into the wall, as Brian went crashing toward the ground he pulled at Kevin's leg. Kevin tripped and collided with me.

The next thing I saw was the ceiling and then...darkness.

Geeze, poor Dustin. How many fatal accidents has this boy been through now? I've lost count. It seems like every chapter he's getting hurt.

Well I know this is a short chapter for what you are all normally used to from me, but oh well. And I know it wasn't the best quality of writing it could have been but it's the best I could do. Now that summer is finally here, I will have more time to write (hopefully) which means longer chapters and getting them out a little...again (hopefully!) I would have liked for it to have been longer, but with what I have planned I needed it to go this way.

Yup, that's right...I've got something major in the works. Who knows what will happen.

Will Dustin die from this fatal accident?

Or will he wake up?

If he does will he choose Kevin? Brian? Or neither?

How is Alex going to handle Dustin at death's clutches again?

Will David show up since it seems like Dustin will miss his flight?

Will Dustin's parents show up to another hospital to help their son?

I guess you will all have to wait and find out in the next exciting chapter of Kevin & Dustin.
