Okay everyone; remember that is a fictional story. That means anything I write here is from my head. This is not reality. I don't know the Backstreet Boys, David Boreanaz, or any other celebrity mentioned here. It's all made up!

Also, this story contains themes aimed at a mature audience only. It contains (or rather it will) a relationship between two males. If you don't like homosexual themes, then leave. Why are you even at this website? If you aren't at least 18 years old then you shouldn't read this. If you do read this, then don't get caught.

*** 'I still love you' This is the continuation to the series Kevin and Dustin. This story involves a romance between the celebrity Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys and the fictional character of Dustin Richards. If you are offended by this kind of material, please do not read this series. If you have not read the first series, please do not read this one yet because I'd like you to know the story of Kevin and Dustin's story from the beginning. You're Still My Boy -- Chapter 1

By: NM

The sun was slowly setting below the horizon, and a gentle breeze was sweeping through the Los Angeles campus. I was just leaving Ackerman Union on my way back to my apartment. It's a pretty cool apartment, too. I have three roommates, Jason, Davie, and Kyle. There are three bedrooms with Jason and I sharing one. We all drew straws and Kyle and Davie got their own bedrooms. But, because they got their own bedrooms, Davie and I each got our own bathroom and they have to share one.

My trip to the Union was purely for recreation. I met some people there from my physiology class for dinner and a movie. When I got back to my room Jason was the only one there. "Hey man, what's up?" Jason asked as he looked up from his homework.

I must say that it is kinda weird that the four of us paired up together. Each of us is majoring in a different thing. Jason is in law school, Kyle is pursing his master's degree in mathematics, and Davie is studying architecture. Then there's me. I'm in med school. When I first met these guys six years I felt kinda left out since I hadn't declared, but I was able to get past it quickly, especially by hanging out with these fun guys. By the end of our freshman year, and after being in a minor earthquake I had had some resolution. "Not much, Jason," I replied flopping down on my bed. "How was the movie?"

"It wasn't that great," I replied. "How is the studying going?"

Jason rolled his eyes at the question and let out a deep sigh. "That bad, huh?"

"Sometimes I wonder why I wanna be a lawyer," Jason groaned. He closed his book and placed it on the floor next to his overflowing book bag. "I can't believe this year is almost over," Jason exclaimed.

"I know what you mean. It seems like just yesterday we were all freshmen just getting acquainted with each other," we reminisced.

"At least you finally chose what you wanted to major in," He smiled motioning to my anatomy book at the foot of my bed. "Back then you were so cute, still trying to decide what you wanted to do with your life," He smiled. "Had I known it would take an accident to get you to decide I would've pushed you down some stairs or something," He joked. Jason was definitely the funny one among us. He knew how to make all of us laugh, but he also had his serious side.

"I've got my anatomy final on Thursday," I remembered.

"I have two finals left. One tomorrow and one Friday," Jason replied.

"Well I don't wanna bother you so I'll head out," I replied hopping back up to my feet.

"You don't have to go if you don't wanna," Jason replied, his eyes moving back to his book.

"No, its no trouble," I interjected. "I've got somebody I wanna see anyway," I grinned.

"Another hot date with the guy you've yet to introduce us to?" Jason joked.

It was comforting to know that the guys were fine with the fact that I was gay. At first Kyle was a little uncomfortable with it. Jason had supported me fully. Mostly do to the fact that he was gay himself. Jason had come out to Davie and Kyle shortly before I had. Then when I came out after he did, Kyle realized that thee was nothing he could do about it, and that it was okay to be gay.

"Me? Hot date? Yeah, right," I laughed. "I think I'm just gonna go hang out with David or something," I replied.

"Ok dude. Have fun," Jason waved before completely focusing his attention to his studies.

"Hey Dustin," David greeted as he motioned for me to enter his home. "What's going on?" He smiled as he embraced me in a friendly hug.

"Not much. Just thought I might come over and hang out for awhile," I replied as I took of my shoes.

"Cool," David spoke as he headed into the kitchen. "Can I get you anything?"

"I'll just have some water," I answered hopping up onto the counter to sit.

David quickly filled up a glass with ice water and handed it to me. I took a long drink before setting it down on the counter next to me. "Thanks," I smiled.

David just smiled and approached me. He stood in-between my legs. His arms found their way around my waist and held me tightly. "I've missed you," He whispered.

"This week has been a killer," I explained. "But all I have left is my anatomy final," I sighed in relief.

"That's good," David smiled. "We finish shooting on Friday," David began. "I was wondering if you were planning on going back home right away, or if you would like to stick around for awhile?" David offered kindly.

"I don't know," I replied. "There's an internship available that I've applied for. If I get it, then I'll have to stay here over the summer," I explained.

"Will you be my physician when you graduate?" David asked.

"Depends," I smiled.

"On what?" He asked poking me on my chest.

"On what I decide to specialize in, silly," I poked him back.

"So, where's your boy?" I asked David.

"I don't know...and right now I really don't care," David spoke, anger evident in his voice. He pulled away from me and stomped into the living room. I hopped off the counter and followed him, taking a seat next to him on the couch.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" I offered kindly.

"Marc doesn't like that I'm still close to you," David spit out. "He thinks that I spend way too much time with you and not enough with him." David sighed and leaned his head on my shoulder. "Do you think I was stupid to try and build something with him, especially after what happened with his ex?" David asked.

"I can't answer that, David." I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and hugged him close to me. "You've got to do what makes you happy. If Marc makes you happy, be with him. But, if he doesn't, then don't. Life's too short," I offered him my words. I placed a light kiss on his head.

David brought his head up from my shoulder and stared into my eyes. Both of us knew what was going to happen, yet neither of us wanted to stop it. My eyes shut after his. I tilted my head and moved closer until our lips touched ever so softly. David took control of the kiss, bringing his hand to cup my face. Soon, I felt his tongue pushing past my lips and entering my mouth. His tongue danced with my own as my hands were running gently up and down his back. His hand caressed my cheek as he pushed me back onto the couch, falling on top of me.

My hands moved to his chest, and I slowly pushed David up, breaking the passionate kiss between us. David opened his eyes, staring down in confusion.

"I...we...we can't do this. I don't wanna come between you and Marc," I whispered pushing him off me completely.

"Dustin, wait...don't go," David pleaded.

I ignored him and quickly headed for the door, stopping only to put on my shoes. "Dustin, wait," David whispered grabbing my shoulder.

"I have a final...I need to get back and study," I lied.

"Promise me this hasn't changed anything," David whispered.

"I can't promise that. It has changed things," I replied. "I just need some time to think about things, okay?"

"Fair enough," David replied. He placed a small kiss on my lips before opening the door for me. I got in my car and drove back to the apartment.

When I got back to the apartment Kyle and Davie were there, too. "Hey Dustin, what's going on?" Davie welcomed me.

"Not much," I replied kicking off my shoes by the door. "How was your day?" I asked.

"Thank God its over," Davie sighed. "One final to go," he cheered.

"Lucky bastard," I joked.

"Well, I'm gonna go study. Night guys," I spoke as I walked down to the bedroom. I fell onto my bed and pulled my book and notebook up into my lap. "Just think Dustin," I whispered to myself. "Only two years left of school and then your Intern and Residency," I joked before beginning to study heavily for my final.

"Nickie, I'm fine," Brian spoke into the phone.

"All right Bri, I'll let it go...for now," Nick relented his persistent questioning of his best friend, Brian Littrell.

"Thank you," Brian sighed in relief. He took a sip of his bottle of Evian. "How did your TRL appearance go?" He asked his friend.

"It was okay," Nick sighed.

"What's wrong, you don't sound happy?" Brian asked in fear.

"Its just that...you think I'd be used to making appearances by myself, but..." Nick babbled not completing his sentence.

"You still miss us?" Brian whispered into his cell phone.

"I always miss you guys," Nick replied honestly.

"Don't worry, next week we're all out in LA recording for the new album," Brian cheered in attempt to raise the spirits of his young friend.

"Yeah," Nick sighed. "So, are you gonna call him?" Nick asked hesitantly.

"Call who?" Brian asked.

"You know who, B-Rok," Nick shot back. "Are you gonna call Dustin?" Nick asked.

"I don't know, it's been awhile since we've spoken," Brian admitted.

"How long has it been since you two last talked?" Nick questioned.

The line was quiet for a moment before Brian answered. "Two years."

"Then I think its time that the two of you talk," Nick commented. "I mean come on, you're gonna be in LA, he goes to school there," Nick pointed out. "Do you mean to tell me you aren't gonna try and see him?"

"I don't know Nick," Brian sighed in frustration. "I don't think it would go over well with Kevin," Brian conceded.

"Listen to me Bri," Nick stated firmly to get his friend's attention. "You've got to do what will make you happy," Nick advised. "Quit worrying about what Kevin or others will think. Do something that makes you happy," Nick advised his friend. "Besides, Kevin has someone else now, it shouldn't matter if you call Dustin," Nick pointed out.

"Thanks, Nick," Brian sighed softly. "I'll let you go. Talk to you later, Nickie," Brian spoke.

"Later B-Rok," Nick replied.

School was officially over for the semester. I took my last final and I think I did pretty well. I'd studied heavily and David had helped by quizzing me on some of the stuff. Kyle left for home for a few weeks once finals were over with. The rest of us all stayed in LA.

"So, tomorrow's your first day at County, right?" Jason asked as we sat on the couch. Davie had gone out on a date, so the two of us ordered a pizza and watched some movies on TV.

"Yup, I'm getting kinda nervous," I admitted.

Jason wrapped his arm around me and rubbed my shoulder lovingly. "Don't worry about it," He whispered. "I'm sure you'll do just fine," He smiled.

"Yeah, you're probably right," I admitted. "Besides, it'll be nice to work with the gang again," I smiled.

"The gang?" Jason asked. "Did you find out what department you were working in?" He asked.

"Yeah, when Dr. Brooks found out I applied, they requested me," I explained. The thought of working with Dr. Brooks and everyone else brought a smile to my lips. I enjoyed working with those people in the ER.

"Well, good luck tomorrow, I'm sure you'll do great," Jason spoke before heading to bed. I went to bed about half an hour later.

"Hey, I'm looking for Dr. Brooks," I greeted Cindy, the ER receptionist.

"Just one mome—Oh, hey Dustin, how are you doing," Cindy exclaimed when she recognized me. "How are you doing?" She asked.

"I'm doing pretty good," I replied with a smile.

"Well, don't be a stranger, come on back here," She motioned for me to come around. I walked around the counter and stood behind the nurses' station.

"Hey Dustin, how's it going," Rachel, the charge nurse asked me.

"I'm doing pretty good. How about you?" I returned the question.

"Another day in the ER. We've got a double MVA rolling up, wanna give us a hand?" She asked as she tossed me a pair of gloves.

"Don't mind if I do," I agreed dropping my bag to the floor. "I'll move it when I get back Cindy, I promise," I spoke before running out the ambulance bay to catch up with Rachel. Outside waiting was Dr. Doug Brooks, Dr. Lori Snider, and Jill Walker, another nurse.

"Hey guys, look who I found inside," Rachel cheered as we approached the group.

Everyone greeted me with open arms again into their circle. We waited patiently for a few more moments before the ambulances arrived.

"Ok, Dustin, Jill, you're with me," Snider ordered. "Rachel go with Doug," she added.

"Car accident. Driver, male, mid 30s, wasn't wearing seatbelt, unconscious when we arrived," the paramedic gave her report to Dr. Snider.

"Ok, let's get him to Trauma 1. Doug, get the girl to Trauma 2," Snider ordered.

Quickly we pushed the gurney into the Trauma room. "I'll hook up the monitors," I yelled out. Dr. Snider placed her stethoscope on and quickly felt around the patient's chest sounds of a heartbeat. I placed the last EKG patch on and flipped on the machine.

"Pressure at 92 and dropping," Jill reported.

"His pupils are at 5 millimeters...equal and reactive," Dr. Snider spoke.

"Oh god," Lori exclaimed. "He's got a hematoma in front of his trach," she sighed.

"Stats are dropping. Pulse-Ox is at 88," Jill read the monitor.

"Ok, lets crack him," Snider decided. "I need an 11-blade," Lori requested from the nurse. She made the incision and continued with the procedure.

"Dustin clamp it," she ordered. I clamped it off.

"Ok, we've got an airway," Lori said in relief.

"Dustin, you wanna intubate him?" She asked offering me the tube and scope.

I took them and inserted the tube in his throat. "I'm in," I sighed out in relief.

"Stats climbing. Pulse-Ox at 95," Jill sighed in relief.

"Man, interesting way to start the day," I spoke as I pulled off my gloves.

"Welcome back," Lori smiled before leaving me in the trauma room.

The rest of my first shift was pretty uneventful. Thankfully there weren't too many more traumas. I was pretty much left with treating the fast track patients who had minor problems. "So how was your first day back?" Rachel asked as she put her chart down.

"Wasn't too bad," I answered.

"Do you like being back?" She asked.

"Yeah, I do," I replied. "Its nice to be back somewhere where I was useful," I smiled. "And, even though I'll probably regret saying this tomorrow," I laughed. "I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else."

Rachel just laughed. "Yeah, you are gonna regret that one," She chuckled. "See ya tomorrow Dustin," she said before grabbing another chart.

I finished my charts and put them back and went to the Doctor's lounge. "Hey Doug," I greeted when I entered the lounge.

"Hey Dustin," Doug smiled. Although I'd never have any type of relationship with him, Doug was a pretty attractive man. He was in his mid 30s. He had brown hair and really light blue eyes. He was very good looking, but I would never do anything with him. He's not gay for one thing, and he's dating Jill. "Enjoy your first day back?"

"Yeah, it was pretty good," I replied taking off my lab coat and putting it in my bag along with my stethoscope. I grabbed my bag and tossed it over my shoulder.

"Hey, wait a sec," Doug said getting up from the couch. "We've got a surprise for you," He smiled. He grabbed my arm and pulled me over to the lockers. One of the lockers had my name on it.

"You guys got me a locker?" I asked confused. Doug nodded his head yes. "But I'm not even a doctor yet. This should probably go to someone else," I spoke.

"Well, too bad," Doug grinned. "We all decided it should be yours," He added.

"Thank you," I smiled at him. "Thank you so much."

"Your welcome," Doug replied as he pat my back. "See you tomorrow," He replied leaving the lounge.

"Bye." I turned around and let out a breath. I opened the locker and found a card inside.

Dustin,

We hope you enjoy

your new locker!

The ER Staff

I opened my bag and pulled out my lab coat and hung it in my locker and placed my stethoscope on the shelf inside. "I'll have to bring some pictures and stuff," I told myself. I shut the locker and left the ER heading home.

"Hello, this is John Norris with an MTV News brief. The Backstreet Boys will be in L.A. for the next few weeks recording songs for their upcoming album. They will also be appearing at several photo shoots, autograph signings, and an appearance on KISS-FM. Stay tuned for more news 10 to the hour every hour on MTV."

"Oh shit!"

"What's wrong?" Jason asked from the kitchen.

"Nothing," I yelled back. "Nothing at all," I muttered under my breath.

Just as I was getting up off the couch the phone rang. "I got it," Jason yelled out from the kitchen.

"Hey Dustin, it's for you," Jason spoke handing the cordless phone to me.

I took the phone from him and brought it to me. "Hello."

To Be Continued...

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed the first chapter of the sequel to Kevin and Dustin. I know it probably wasn't as exciting as some of you may have hoped judging from the time it took me to complete it, but I hope it was enjoyable nonetheless.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, story ideas, etc. please, feel free to e-mail them to me at author_nm@yahoo.com

Now that this chapter is finally finished, I feel like I have a solid footing on where I plan on taking the sequel, which hopefully means it won't take as long to write each chapter.

That's it for now; again I hope you all enjoyed it. See you next time!
