Lets get this over with now: I own "Life's Expectations" and every character in the story. There are some events that have actually happened to me, but all the characters are fictional. If it is illegal for you to to view this in your location, then GTFO. You're probably gonna ignore that so have fun. So last chapter Leo's back story was told and Isaac told Cheryl he was gay... kinda? Anyways It was a shorter chapter than usual so this one will hopefully be longer.

I told you last chapter what this chapter is called for a reason. "Cradle To The Grave" by Five Finger Death Punch refers to never changing from life till death. This message is from the fathers of three of the now 10 main boys of this story. Can you guess who?

The chorus is referring to what they have been called and how they are going to stay that way until death. This applies to some of the fathers in this story but not all. Find out which ones this chapter.

So as you can tell this chapter is going to be a serious one. So I will stop delaying the chapter and give it to you.

LE – Chapter 43 – Cradle To The Grave

Shane's POV

Over the last couple of weeks I've been thinking about allot of things. Little bit of everything to be honest. So in today's meeting with Dr. Bear I told her about everything I was thinking. But I finished with the most important one, "I want to talk to my dad."

It caught everyone but Dr. Bear by surprise. Noah looked over at me, "Shane, your can't be serious!"

"I am though. I want to talk to him one more time." Noah just shook his head. Zach hadn't said anything. "Is that really an issue?"

Zach looked over at me, "I'll be right behind what ever you want to do." I smiled but it left my face as I looked at Noah.

"I don't like this idea. Not one bit." He shook his head.

Dr. Bear put down her clipboard. "This is very serious Shane. Are you sure you are ready for this step?"

"What do you mean step?" Noah almost shouted.

Dr. Bear looked at him seriously. "Shane has all the right to speak with his father. I thought he might want to do this. I don't suggest it but I can't stop him, can I?"

"Yes you can! You can tell him how bad of an idea it is for him to see the man who ruined his life." I know Noah has good intentions but I need to... I just feel I need to. "Tell him how bad of an idea it is Dr. Bear."

She sighed, "There is most commonly two results in this type of action. Either you come out and you are pushed farther back or your pushed forward." No one really got it. "What I'm saying is that you either fall back into your one word answers or you defeat your fears."

Zach grabbed my shoulder, "Are you sure your ready?"

He knew it could be taken in more ways than one. His question could be either making sure or telling me I'm not. He was asking me to double check I'm ready... And I think I am. "As ready as I'll ever be. I have to do this Noah... Please?"

He looked toward Dr. Bear. She spoke, "I don't normally advise youth to see their tormentors ever. And today I am sticking to my guns and advising you against seeing your father. However I am not going to go as far as forcing you to stay away from the man. I think you are on the right path with the proper support."

I beamed, "Thank you for your opinion."

"And our time is up for the day. I will see you in a month Shane." Dr. Bear led us out to the waiting room. Got another appointment set up and then started on her next one.

We didn't stick around long, we were going to get ice cream like usual. Noah didn't let the conversation drop though. "I still don't like the idea."

"I know..." Was all I said. Zach said nothing.

Noah sighed, shook his head and rubbed his temples. "If your going to see him I am going with you. I wont say anything nice to him... If anything at all. But I'll be there for you."

Gage's POV

Sam called me earlier and basically said he had to come over. His dad was in town and I figured he didn't want to be around him much like usual. That is until he came over and said, "Gage I wanna tell my dad tonight."

That caught me totally off guard. "Woah woah woah!? On the day he gets back, you wanna tell him?" Sam nods his head. "And this courage came from where?"

"A combination of Nick and Lucas and Isaac."

"And how do you want to do this?"

He stared at me blankly. "You do know we're coming over for dinner tonight right?"

"Nope. I woke up when you called me. And been in my room ever since." Sam looked at me with his look. The look that said 'Nick?' "Okay, Nick might have had something to do with that. He gives really good wake up blowjobs okay?"

Sam giggled. "Well as long as you are now aware." We hung out for a bit. Watching things, playing games and such.

About an hour before dinner was going to be served the rest of Sam's family came over. When they did Sam's mom came up stairs. "Hello Gage."

"Hello Aunt Mary." We were in the middle of watching old pokemon episodes. I was playing pokemon while watching it. "What's up?"

"I just came up to see you and Sam." Sam blushed and looked at his feet. "Has he mentioned what he wants to do?"

"Yes he has."

"When do you want to do it Sam?"

"Right now?"

Aunt Mary smiled, "I'll go get him."

She left the room and went down stairs. Sam was beginning to shake. I rubbed his back and he seamed to settle down a little bit. I mean it is a nerving feeling telling someone something you think they'll be disappointed for. I can only feel his pain cause in my experience both my parents were openly okay with it.

In a small amount of time his dad, my Uncle Jim, was up in my room. "Hello Gage. What's up boys?"

Sam didn't respond, so I did, "Just watching some old cartoons."

He laughed a bit, "Mom said you wanted to talk to me?" He looked directly at Sam. He nodded slowly, "About what?"

"Uhhh... about..." I didn't say anything. This was one thing I didn't want to say anything for him this time. Sam remained quest though.

His dad sat down on my bed, "You can tell me anything Sam. What's troubling you?" Sam remained quiet for sometime. "Do you know what it is Gage?"

"Yes, but I am not going to tell you. Sam needs too." He seamed to understand and went back to waiting. Sam was quiet, "Are you gonna tell him Sammy?"

He nodded but still said nothing. We probably waited for 20 minutes before Sam actually said something. He closed his eyes and tightened his fists. "I'm going out with Gage!" He said it so quickly I didn't think It actually happened.

Sam's POV

Oh god I said it. I told my dad I'm going out with Gage. I didn't even tell him if I was Gay or Bi, Just that I was going out with him. He's gonna hate me now. Peter is his only hope for family lineage and he's probably happy about that. I'm to weak for my offspring to be anything he's happy about.

"Is that all?" Wait what?

I had to take a double take. My dad was smiling. He wasn't mad... he wasn't upset disappointed he was... happy? He even embraced me. I had tears expecting the worse but I got the best?

Between sobs I got out, "You're... not mad?"

He continued to hug me as he spoke. "I could never be disappointed in you Sam. You're my son no matter who you have feelings for." I must have sobbed into him for half an hour. Dinner was even called while I was.

This dinner was the best dinner I've ever had. Not cause of the good food. But because I could be me. It was the first meal I could freely joke around without the fear of being judged by my dad. It was a release.

When we got home me and dad had a long conversation. About just about everything. He even said sorry for being how he was. He thought that I didn't want to spend time with him and didn't want to push me. To put it simply: Me and my dad's relationship is back on track! And that makes me happy.

Lucas' POV

Nick came rushing into my room. "Sam finally did it!"

He said he was coming over after dinner but I didn't expect him till like 7:30, 8ish. He was having dinner with Sam's family after all. Then he comes rushing into my room saying 'Sam finally did it!'. Did what?

Why am I asking nothing? "Sam did what exactly?"

Nick settled down and spoke, "He told his dad he's dating my brother." Well that explains allot actually.

"And how did his dad take it?"

Nick's smile said it all but I let him continue anyways. "It was the best! His dad was fine with it! It was the best dinner our families have ever had!" Nick was ecstatic and told me his version of the events. It must have been somewhere around half an hour of him telling the story.

When Nick finally settled down and laid on my bed Blake came in the room. He was rubbing his eyes. "Can you guys be quiet, I'm tired."

"Sure Blake, good night."

He turned to leave but stopped. "What were you guys talking about? I heard something about Sam and his dad but that's it."

"Mind your own business and stop ease dropping on us." I ordered.

Blake stood at my door. "I didn't ease drop! Nick was yelling when he said it."

Nick gave a questioning look, "No I wasn't..." Blake remained silent. "Blake, you were ease dropping weren't you."

"No I wasn't! I swear!" His defended.

"Blake!" I yelled at him.

"I wasn't." I just stared at him. His comfort level was slowly decreasing. After 30 seconds he broke, "Fine I was."

"Why were you ease dropping on us?"

He shrugged, "I don't know. Nick came in really happy I wanted to know why."

"Do you know why?"

He blushed, "Sam and Gage can finally be open about their relationship in front of Sam's dad."

I gave him the dirtiest look I could give him. "You are not allowed to tell anyone! Got that?"

"Why not? Why is it a problem to tell anyone?"

"Cause if dad finds out there could be..." I stopped mid sentence, in fear.

"Oh no, Lucas please continue. 'If dad finds out there could be' what?" My dad was standing right behind Blake. He was not happy either. Even Blake took a step back form him.

"Nothing... nothing at all..." I spoke, barely audible from Nick's position.

My had crossed his arms. "Speak up Lucas, I cannot hear you." His voice was fierce. He wanted to know what I was gonna say and bad. He doesn't like not knowing things.

"Trouble." I spoke up, as I was ordered to. "I was going to say there could be trouble."

His eyes somehow got even more threatening. "And what would there be trouble for? What did you do, Lucas?"

"Nothing I swear!"

My dad looked at Nick who shook his head. Then he looked at Blake who backed up again. "Blake what is this all about?"

"Lucas said not to say anything..." Wrong thing to say little bro, but thanks. Dad took a step forward, Blake backed up even more.

I could see the tears forming in Blake's eyes. He wanted to tell dad, but I told him not too. He knows more doesn't he? He knows about Nick and I!? He's ease dropped before. Suddenly I feel a mixture of mad, proud and fear.

"Blake go to you room. I'll be there in a few minutes." Blake rushed out of the room. "Lucas, if you don't tell me what 'it' is Nick is going home."

I remained silent. My eyes challenging my dad. "It's about my brother." Nick said.

My dad looked at him, "What about your brother would make 'trouble' for me?"

Nick swallowed and spoke, "He's bi and his boyfriend came out to his father today."

My dad's face calmed a bit but not much. "As long as 'that' doesn't infect my son there wont be any 'trouble' from me." He turned to leave but stopped, "You aren't 'that' are you Nick?"

Nick remained silent. "Why does that even matter dad?"

"Did I ask you Lucas? Nick it's polite to answer any questions people ask you."

"No, I'm not bi." He told the truth. Would it be enough for my dad though?

"That's not what I asked." Shit! "I asked if you were 'that'. By that I mean into guys. Gay or Bi." Nick froze and said nothing.

He looked towards me. He wasn't looking at me in fear, it was in concern. He had to be concerned for me. The fact that he's asking this now means that he's gonna ask me soon. Maybe not tonight but soon.

I had to say something, "He's not gay, dad!"

Once again my father wasn't happy I answered, "I didn't ask YOU Lucas, did I?" He stared at Nick saying absolutely nothing. "Get out of my house, 'Thing'." Dad pointed to the door.

Nick started to grab his jacket when I spoke up, "Why does he have to leave?"

"Because he's a faggot and I wont have any of that in my home infecting my children."

I have no idea where this courage came from. As if from thin air I spoke, no screamed at my father, "My boyfriend is staying the night!"

I could see Blake in the hallway gasp. Nick looked at me in surprise. The courage it took to say that... was it really worth it?

Zach's POV

As if by chance it was happening. Shane called the lawyer that was on his case way back when. Found there was to be no attempt from his father to contact him, but he was in free games. So he called the prison and asked when visiting hours were. This all happened in 24 hours too...

So here we are on our way to the prison. Noah is driving of course. It was only a hour and a half to get to this maximum security prison. It had like 40 feet tall concrete walls. If anyone could get out I would be surprised.

We walked into the little phone booth area. Asked from Shane's dad and waited for him to be brought out. When he got there his face when from surprised to smiling.

He sat down and grabbed the phone. Shane did so as well. Shane spoke first. "Hey, asshole. I wanted to see you one last time before I never have to see you again." His dad laughed a bit. "I wanted you to meet my boyfriend, Zach. I wanted to show you what my life has become: A happy I don't need my father life."

He hung up the phone and walked away. His dad looked at me and smiled. You could speak though the glass too, and he did. "Have fun with my sloppy seconds."

I smiled and laughed at the man, "What I do with him, is not your sloppy seconds. It's called love, learn it and stay out of his life, forever."

Me and Noah walked away. His dad was brought back to his cell. Shane was standing just outside breathing deeply. "That was the best feeling I have ever had. Lets never do that again."

It's official Shane came out as a better man and didn't fall back into his shell. Now for some revenge ice cream!

Chapter end.

And with that there is only 2 more chapter left! I hope you enjoyed this chapter I know it was all serious but needed.

Next chapter is an outing chapter. It's all about telling your parents your gay/bi or what ever you need to tell them. That is why it's going to be called Aftermath. Adam Lambert's song I find to be perfect.

So until next time!

Thanks for reading!
