Another Short Note: Well...I thanked all those people and COMPLETELY forgot a few REALLY important people...but I am excused cause I am blond. So, I'd REALLY like to thank Clive, author of A Grand Encounter, who has been nice enough to host this story as well as a few other ones on his site (which looks awesome! I am gonna have to jump into learning html and give up Adobe Pagemill so that I can do cool stuff with my site like he does with his.) I would also like to note a few other stories and authors that I think are outstanding. There's the "intimate stranger" from Diana that is really quite interesting, and "dealing" from CJ. This is a great story, and I always look for the updates on it. Also, there's "Not Meant To Be/Unseen Moments" by K_Magic and Jeff Kaiser's "Twist of Fate", (Jeff is an AWESOME writer...I've checked his website and he does some really awesome stuff!)

I'm gonna try to keep it short this time and mention a few people again next time, so that this isn't as huge as the last one was....oops...too late.

I would also like to thank some awesome readers who write me and provide support and encouragement. So...thanks goes out to Ryan in Cali and to Rich in Ohio, both of whom I chat with on a regular basis and both of whom are awesome guys!

Last time...

Bill: <Looks down at JC, snuggled up against his chest, fast asleep, and smiles.> Wow...that worked...Goodnight Josh.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin: Awwww..........that was so nice!

Lance: oh God....I was so wrong to treat them like I did!

Joey: Let's go back to bed guys!

<Joey, Chris, and Justin head back to their bedrooms leaving Lance alone standing by the doorway, tears still falling from his eyes, staring silently inside at the sleeping forms of Bill and Josh.>

--------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 9: Admissions and Advice During The Wee Hours Of The Morning

Bill awoke with a start a few hours later, confused at his surroundings as well as to the identity of the young man still latched onto his chest. A second later his head cleared and the memories of the goings-on from the previous night fell back into his mind. Smiling slightly, Bill untangled his body from JC's grip and he made his way to the bathroom. A few minutes later, Bill walked out of the bathroom and over to the bedroom door. Quietly, so as not to awaken his bedmate, Bill opened the door the rest of the way and walked out into the hallway. Bill closed the door behind him and then looked down and saw Lance huddled in a ball out beside the bedroom doorway, fast asleep. As he went to wake Lance up, Bill noticed the wetness around his eyes as well as the puffiness that comes with crying. Bill lightly nudged Lance's shoulder a few times, rousing him slightly from his slumber.

Bill: Lance...Lance...Wakies.....let's get you to bed!

Lance: MHmmmmmmmm...huh?

Bill: C'mon Lance...let's go put you to bed in Justin's room...wherever that is....Lance?

Lance : HUH!?!

Bill : Quiet...its just me. You fell asleep out here for some reason. Let's go.

Lance: I need to get a glass of water.

Bill: That's why I woke up too. Can you show me where the kitchen is?

Lance: I can if you put me down.

Bill : Sure Lance.

<>

Bill: So...what's up....and before you say nothing is up....let me remind you that I just found you curled up in a little ball sleeping outside JC's room.

Lance : oh.......ummmm!

Bill: Did JC tell you that I have a really accurate "bullshit meter"? So let's have the truth, OK?

Lance : OK. Ummmmmmmm...I wanted to start out by saying that I am really sorry...I was really wrong about everything...about JC, about you, about everything...but I acted the way I did for a reason.

Bill : Uh huh...and that is?

Lance : Because I was afraid...I...I didn't want anyone to know....to suspect....

Bill: <grabbing Lance's hand> It sucks doesn't it? Watching your friend go through and make it past what you were too scared to go through with the same people?

Lance: Yeah...yeah it does. How did you know?

Bill: I didn't know until you just told me....but I suspected from your reaction to JC. Shakespeare said it best in Hamlet, "The lady doth protest too much methinks."

Lance: What am I gonna do? If I tell them...they'll all call me a hypocrite and hate me for treating JC the way I did when I am no better.

Bill: I think you underestimate your friends. This isn't a game of one-upsmanship or "mine is better than yours", this is LIFE...more importantly...its your lives. Friendship is based on trust; family is based on love. You have both with the guys, friends and a kind of family. I think that you should love and trust them enough to tell them what you told me...about how scared you were and everything else. I think they'll see your side of it...and be glad that you were brave enough to be upfront with them about everything, the same way they were with JC.

Lance: I heard you singing to him...my heart ached...I couldn't breathe...the song really hit me...It hurt so bad I couldn't think...just had to listen...then I knew I couldn't keep denying myself anymore.

Bill: I am glad you liked the song. Its a favorite of mine from a gay acapella group called the Fabulous Flirtations.

Lance: So now what do I do?

Bill: Now....you've said it to one person...congratulations! Now it should get easier for you. So now...you and I are gonna march up those stairs and we're gonna go to bed. Tomorrow, when we wake up and things look brighter, and trust me Lance, they will look brighter, you and the guys are gonna sit down and you are gonna tell them what you told me, about your feelings and about yourself.

Lance: And then...?

Bill: I dunno....we'll take it one step at a time. Let the pieces fall where they may.

Lance: Bill...do you love Josh?

Bill: I just met him under 12 hours ago. I only know him from chatting with him online. We click...and that's a good start, you know what I mean?

Lance : Yeah. Bill...?

Bill: Yeah?

Lance: Thanks for being here for me...and thanks for being there for Josh. I'd have never faced this if he hadn't faced it as well.

Bill: No problem....I'd do anything for my friends....

Lance : Friends?

Bill : Yeah...Friends... Someone grab the mud mask mix and bring out the Judy Garland records... "We'll have a gay old time!"

Lance: Let's go to bed. I think I am gonna have a long day ahead of me...and you have had a long day today and tomorrow will be one as well and we both need more rest.

Bill: I agree with you totally Scoopy...lets go to bed.

Lance : Scoopy?

Bill: You don't like that one?

Lance: It's just gonna take some time for me to adjust to that one...its just so...CUTE!

Bill: It is...its kinda just like its namesake...cute and sweet.

Lance: Thanks!
