DISCLAIMER: O-town, Backstreet Boys and N'Sync are all bands that I don't know. I am not implying anything here. This is strictly created in my fantasies. I wish it was actually happening but I highly doubt it. I am in no way affiliated with Jive or J records, MTV or any other way with these bands. If homosexual content offends you or is illegal for you to read then please leave.

The only thing I have remotely in common with these guys is that Ashley Parker Angel and I were born on the same exact day-August 1, 1981.

FIRST THINGS FIRST: Hey everyone...sorry I haven't been around much lately. I finish college in 2 days so as you can imagine things have been hectic. I've been hanging around the Niftywriters chat room though if anyone wants to talk. I'm an op in there so come visit all of us...we usually get a great crowd going towards nighttime. Anyway, I had a great idea to put into the story so I'm gonna pick this up right where I left it. I expect to put out a lot of chapters during the summer (which is in 2 days for me) so bear with me. Thanks!

All I Need Is You-Chapter Sixteen

Ashley walked back into the hotel feeling very out of it. He honestly felt like he was in an episode of the Twilight Zone and was just waiting to wake up out of this dream. It wasn't happening though. It felt too real. He walked towards the elevator and went past a large ballroom. He saw a figure standing in the middle of it. Curiosity got the better of him as he walked towards the room.

A young man about the same age as Ashley stood towards the back of the room with a microphone in front of him and he was belting out notes like a pro.

'Justin' Ashley thought to himself.

Ashley walked towards the young man singing a song he had never heard before. This was all too weird to him.

"Hey Timberlake." Ashley said, which startled Justin as he turned to see who it was.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" Justin asked getting scared.

"Relax Justin, I'm just a friend." Ashley said, "You're a pretty good singer"

"Nah I'm ok. No one else seems to feel the same way you do." Justin said, which confirmed Ashley's notion that in this world Justin was just another guy.

"That was a pretty good song you were singing." Ashley said.

"It was ok. It's not catchy enough." Justin said.

"Well I was working on one myself that I was gonna show to my band later but I'd like to see if you'd like to take it and run with it. I don't really think we can use it." Ashley said as he grabbed the microphone.

"Run it by me and I'll tell you how it is." Justin said.

Ashley took the microphone and put the song in his head. He started singing the first verse of "Like I Love You", which was Justin's new hit single in Ashley's world.

"If you let go the music should move your bones

Just remember

Sing this song with me

Ain't nobody love you like I love you"

Ashley did whatever moves he remembered learning off Justin in the Odyssey Tour. Justin always told him he wanted to go solo and he showed Ashley some of the moves and songs he was working on backstage a lot.

Ashley completed the first verse and chorus then stopped and looked at Justin.

"That was great. You should take that for yourself and run with it." Justin said.

"Nah we can't really use it. I want you to have it. Do what you want with it." Ashley said.

He started to walk towards the door. He stopped when Justin called out to him.

"Who are you man?" Justin asked.

Ashley turned with a smile and said, "Just a friend"

He walked towards the elevator and got in. It started to go up without him even pushing a button. Ashley clinged against the wall as the elevator seemed possessed by another power. It went to the top floor and opened.

Ashley looked out and saw the roof. This was a little weird considering elevators usually don't go to the roof. He slowly stepped out and looked around. He was in New York already. He looked out over the city and saw the Hammerstein Ballroom where O-town played their first show ever that put them on the map.

"Pretty weird huh?" A voice came from behind him.

Ashley knew that voice. He had a feeling he was behind this. He turned around and saw the smile he was looking for.

"Randy." Ashley said.

"Did you ever have a doubt?" Randy said as he sat perched on top of a small shed on top of the roof.

"Not really, I think you're enjoying this whole afterlife powerful spirit thing a bit too much." Ashley said.

"Actually this one came from upstairs. You asked for things to be different." Randy said.

"Yeah I did but not this different." Ashley said.

"What's the matter Ash?" Randy asked.

"I don't know things have been crazy lately. Sometimes I just wish I could live a normal life like everyone else. I always wanted to be famous and dreamed about this life but I'm not sure I can deal with it anymore." Ashley said.

Randy jumped down and landed next to Ashley. He put his hand on his shoulder.

"Ash, it's ok to be scared and stressed out about stuff. It's ok to make mistakes too...You're human. Just don't forget to bring your friends along the way so they can help you." Randy said

"I'm not sure what I would do without you brother." Ashley said.

"I'll always be watching over you but right now someone's waiting for you." Randy said as there was a flash of white light.

Ashley wasn't afraid this time though. He knew what was happening and he faced it calmly. He opened his eyes and he was back in his bedroom at the house he shared with his husband Nick. There was no Matt. There never was. It was just a test and they passed it with flying colors and they're still around. It must have been 9 or 10am but the room seemed alive with light. It truly was a new day except this time it was in his normal world, where he was meant to be.

Ashley looked over and saw Nick lying on his side facing the other way. He was breathing regularly and Ashley watched as his husband's frame went in and out peacefully. He sighed. Nick was more than he ever needed.

He crawled over and put his arm around him and snuggled up next to him. Nick breathed out and instinctively spooned to Ashley's body. A smile came to Ashley's face. They just fit together perfectly and no one could ever say differently. Many people have tried. Ashley just lie awake thinking about that thought and how many people have tried to come between them. Flashes of Shellie, his ex-girlfriend working with Lou Pearlman, his old manager taking pictures of all the couples and trying to frame them. A smile came to his face when he remembered all of his friends speaking out in favor of them and how they all tried genuinely to help them. Ashley remembered when he and Nick found Lou and faced him at gunpoint. Nick showed such bravery as he jumped in front of him thinking Lou was going to fire.

It was all the memories that made them this amazing couple. They preceded them everywhere they went but it was all worth it. Knowing that there was a baby sleeping in the next room safely and soundly made it all ok. It was an image of Randy but it was also an image of Nick and Ashley. Johnny was there's now and they were going to make a family out of it.

Jacob stood on his deck in San Diego that faced out over Mission Beach just watching the waves crash against the sand. His house was on a secluded part of the beach and he usually didn't have to deal with a lot of people, which was just the way he liked it. He ran his hair through his dreads that were braided back. He heard a knock come from behind him. It was his friend James. Jacob had decided to take some time off and go home as he was feeling the stress of life lately. He had set down his section of the vocals and everything they needed early just to avoid it and told them to call him if they needed to make any decisions. He had to get out of Orlando, his life was out of control right now. Things weren't the best with AJ, they seemed to be drifting and Jacob just needed his friends from home.

James was a close friend from before Making The Band. They never really lost touch but rarely saw each other with Jacob's tight schedule. Most of his friends resented him after he got big but James never did. He couldn't just drop a friendship like that.

"What's up Jake...good to see you again bud." James said as he gave him a hug.

It felt good to be with a friend again, no drama. Jacob returned the hug.

"What's up J, it's been too long." Jacob said as they both looked out over the ocean.

"Nah, you've just been busy. It's alright." James said.

"Too busy. I miss you man." Jacob said.

"Small price to pay to be famous bud." James said.

"It's not all it's cracked up to be." Jacob said.

"Come on man don't worry about it. Let's go smoke." James said

"I quit cigarettes." Jacob said.

"I wasn't talking about cigarettes." James said.

Jacob had a feeling this was going to happen. Before Making The Band Jacob used to smoke weed pretty regularly. He never got caught and never really thought it was abuse. It was just to calm him down. He never really liked doing it but it always made him feel good. He saw O-town as a way out of that and it was. He hasn't smoked since he left San Diego.

"I don't know dude. It's been a long time." Jacob said.

"Come on man, you'll forget about everything." James said as he pulled out a bag full of dark green stems and what looked like weeds that we would step on our front lawn.

Jacob thought about it for a minute as he followed James inside the house. Maybe that's what he needs right now. He needed to forget about it all. He needed to just relax. He sat down on the couch as James handed him the piece and sat next to him. In his right hand he reached for the lighter on the table. Jacob hesitated at first then clicked the lighter on.

He watched as the spark caught oxygen and flamed up. He thought about it then went for it. O-town stopped drug testing him after the first year. He could easily get away with it. He needed it. He put the piece to his mouth and then the lighter to the weed and it lit. He pulled in the smoke and let it go through his lungs. He blew it back out as he passed the bowl over to James and sat back and let the high kick in.

Dan and Brian sat at a table in the mall food court eating some Chinese food discussing a very important topic. Although these two don't hang out often they are still good friends and have come to each other many times for advice about their friends. The two of them liked to think of themselves as the calming factor between all of their friends, the people that each of them could go to but they could use each other to let out that steam. This was about a completely different topic though.

"So what's the countdown now Danny?" Brian asked as he opened up a Snapple bottle.

"One month exactly." Dan said right before he put a piece of general chicken in his mouth, followed by some rice.

"Wow, it seems like yesterday we were giving the speeches at Nick and Ashley's wedding." Brian said.

"Well, that's why we're here. It went by so quick but now I gotta find a ring. It's gotta be perfect Bri. Just like Devon." Dan said.

"Wow, you're really hung up on this guy huh?" Brian asked with a smile.

"I love him Bri, I really do." Dan said.

"Alright then, let's go buy the Canadian a ring." Brian said as they both got up to go look for a ring.

They walked around and came upon a Zales and they walked in.

Dan looked around the store and then stopped and looked down through the glass. It was all so hard to choose from.

"Can I help you sir?" A women in her mid-thirties said from across the counter.

"Ummm yeah sure." Dan said

"Something wrong sir?" She asked

"I guess I'm just waiting for you to scream and ask for an autograph." Dan said with a laugh.

"Sorry sir I don't know who you are. But if you want I can pretend and start screaming." She said with a smile.

Dan laughed "No that won't be necessary. But you know what I'm gonna be completely honest with you. Don't tell anyone cuz my management will get really angry with me but you've been so nice already and this is a very important decision for me." Dan said

"I'd be happy to help you. My name is Melanie." She said

"Melanie, it is a pleasure. My name is Dan" he said smoothly talking up a storm. "Ok here it, remember shhh" Dan said as he put his finger to his lips and spoke softly. "I'm looking for a wedding ring for my boyfriend. We're getting married in a month. I want it to be perfect like him so I need your help." Dan said.

Brian watched on and just laughed as Dan sweet talked the lady at the counter and looked across the mall. The smile dropped to a frown as she saw who it was heading in their direction almost like she was looking for someone.

'What the hell is she doing here?' Brian thought to himself.
