Porcelain Chapter 2 By Sophie V. (wind_phoenix@hotmail.com)

I never meant to hurt you...

Brian was sitting on a bench in a small chapel. He looked in front of him and saw a strange man standing in front of the altar. He was tall and was wearing a long black cape so Brian couldn't see his face. Brian looked around him then at the man, wondering who he was. He stood up, walked near him, and stopped at five feet from the man. The man turned around and Brian gasped at what he saw. The man had his face entirely burned. Brian moved back as he saw the man came closer to him. Brian started to panic as his heart started to beat loudly. He turned away from the man and started to run toward the exit. He ran in a small hall and found that there was no way out. He was breathing heavily and could feel the man came closer. He was terrified. He could hear his heart pounding loudly, and was paralyzed by fear. He hardly swallowed and found the strength to turn around very slowly. He saw the man open his mouth, revealing some long and very sharp teeth. Brian closed his eyes and screamed as the man rushed toward him.

Brian felt somebody cuddled him and a soft pair of lips kissing his face. "Brian, wake up! You're having a nightmare! Wake up, sweetie, wake up!" said a voice. It was Nick's voice. Brian opened his eyes and saw his boyfriend starring at him with attention. Brian quickly sat up and hugged him tightly. "Nick! Oh my god! I was so afraid..." said Brian as he buried his face in Nick's shoulder. Nick hugged him and kissed him on the head as he rocked him back and forth. "Shh... I'm here... it's okay, Bri. It's over now..." he said softly. A few seconds later, they heard a knock on the door. Brian looked at it then at Nick, a scared look on his face. Nick understood what he meant by that and shouted from the bed: "Yes?" "Nick, it's Kevin! I heard Brian! Is he okay?" asked Kevin through the door. "Yeah, it was only a nightmare, don't worry, I take care of him." Replied Nick. "Okay... tell me if you or Brian need something." Said Kevin. "I'll do, Kev. Thanks." Said Nick. Nick looked at Brian who was just starring at him. He looked less scared. "You okay, Bri?" asked Nick "Yes, Nick... I'm better now... Only a nightmare..." he replied. Nick nodded and still hugged his boyfriend. "Why didn't you want me to open the door?" he asked. "Oh... I just wanted you to hold me... I was so..." he said before he felt Nick kiss his forehead. "It's ok Frick-baby... You know, I prefer hold you... you want to talk about your dream?" "No... It was just a bad dream... probably because of this house..." said Brian as he looked at the room. "Yeah, you're right..." said Nick as he started to laugh. "What's so funny?" asked Brian a little confused. "Well... you remember last night? I told you that I was scared because of this house and then you told me that you were there for me... Now, I think it's the contrary... YOU are scared and I'M there for you." said Nick while laughing. Brian just smiled and kissed him on the lips. "We're there for each other..." he whispered as he broke the kiss. "Yeah... for us..." whispered Nick as he closed his eyes and started to kiss Brian passionately. Brian gladly returned the kiss and pushed Nick on his back. He just laid on top of him while they kissed, when suddenly he broke it, a worried look on his face. "What's wrong Bri?" asked Nick, confused. "What time is it? I hope I didn't wake up anyone..." said Brian. Nick took his watch from the bedside table and looked at it. "It's 11:00 AM. I think that everyone but us are already out of the bed. So... no worries..." he said as he put his watch back on the table. "Well... I'm relieved..." said Brian as he smiled. "Now... where did we stop?" asked Nick in a sexy voice as he started to kiss Brian's neck. "I was kissing you... no... WE were kissing..." said Brian seductively as he pulled Nick in another passionate kiss. Nick put his left arm around Brian's back while he ran his right hand in Brian's soft brown hair. Their waking-up will be very pleasant.

Meanwhile, in the garden...

"This is so big!" said Lance "And so badly kept... Look, there are weeds and ferns everywhere!" said Chris. "In my opinion, nobody take care of the garden since 100 years! But... It's probably a good occasion to search some treasures..." said Joey, smiling. "Yeah of course! What do you want to search? Some old boots and other stuffs like that?" asked Chris sarcasly. "Joey is right! Maybe we'll found something interesting! Who know?" said Lance. Chris just shrugged and continued to walk in the garden with his two friends. A few minutes later, they arrived near a ditch and a small bridge... or rather the last bits. Lance looked at the ditch. Grass covered each side except the bottom, which is covered by stone. "There's some stone... as if there were a river in the past..." said Lance. "Hmm... Even if the ditch isn't deep and very large, we can't cross it... So what do we do, now?" asked Chris. "Well... we can try to walk around it... Let's go in this direction." Said Lance as he started to walk at his left. The two other followed him and one minute later, they found some large bushes blocking their way. "Great! What now?" said Chris, impatient. "Calm down! We can passed them, 'right Lance?" said Joey. "Yeah of course! Come on!" said Lance as he crossed the bushes. Joey followed him, then Chris. Suddenly, Chris lost his balance and fall. "Shit!" he screamed as he laid on the ground. "Chris, are you okay?" asked both Lance and Joey. "Yeah... I think I stumble against something." Replied Chris as he got up and looked behind him. "What's...?" he said as he looked at something. "What Chris?" asked Joey, looking at him. Chris just pointed his right hand at something. Lance and Joey looked at each other and looked at what Chris was starring. It was a big metal ring covered by rust. "What..." said Joey as he took it. Suddenly, at the same time as he left it, a trap door opened. "Hey! It's hiding place or something like that!" said lance happily. "But we saw nothing in it!" said Joey. "Look! There's a ladder here!" said Chris. "Hey, why don't we explore it?" said Lance at his friends, a big smile on his face. The others smiled and nodded. They looked in the trap for a few seconds before Joey said: "Do you have a flashlight? It's too dark in it! " said Joey. "No, sorry." Said Chris. "Mine is in my bag! I come back!" said Lance as he ran toward the big mansion. He was in it quickly and ran toward the first floor. Kevin, AJ, Howie, JC and Justin saw this and looked at each other, wondering why Lance was in a hurry. He quickly reached his room and looked for his flashlight. After a minute, he finally found it and went out of his room. As he closed his door, he heard some loud moans. It was coming from Nick and Brian's bedroom. "I wondered if they know the verb 'to be quiet'..." he thought, smiling, as he quickly reached the stairs. As he came down, he looked at the other five guys and said, as he showed his flashlight: "Electric lamp, very useful!" before he exited the house. The three BSB and two N'Sync just looked at each other and shrugged, not understanding what happened. Lance ran as fast as he could toward his friends. A minute later, he finally met them. "Good job, Lance!" said Joey as he took the flashlight, switched on the light and, while he pointed it toward the fond of the trap, started to went down the ladder. "I'll guided you from the bottom." He said. "Alright." Said the other two. It was only twenty seconds later, or so, that Joey finally reached the ground. The cave was humid and a little cold. "You can go now!" he said from where he was. Lance soon met Joey, followed by Chris. The three N'Sync looked around them with the flashlight and finally spotted a small hall. "Well... here we go..." said Joey to the other two. But nobody was moving. "What are you waiting for?" asked Lance to him. "What do you mean?" asked Joey. "It's you who have the light so go!" Joey looked at the light and placed it in Lance's right hand. "But it's yours!" he replied. Lance looked at Joey and just rolled his eyes. He then started to walk in the small hall, followed by his two bandmates. Further in the hall, they can see which they thought was a big cave. They arrived a few seconds later at it and gasped at what they saw. What they thought was a cave was in reality a small chapel. They were some big holes at the ceiling so the sunlight lighted the room. They were two rows with, for each one, three bench in stone, an altar at the bottom of the room, an easel next to it and a statue, which represent some unknown characters, at each corners of the room. Since it was humid, there was moss everywhere and the stone cracked. "Oh my god... it's... a..." stammered Chris, amazing. "A chapel... underground..." said Lance. "But why here?" asked Joey. "How would I know?" said Lance looking at the altar. "Hey look! What is it?" "What?" asked Joey. "The altar." Replied Lance. They walked toward it and saw a box on the altar covered by a big book. "Hey! It's look like... a book." Said Lance. "IT'S a book, silly." Said Chris, laughing. Lance took the book very carefully and inspected it. The cover was brown with a blue sun drew on it. It looked very old. Chris saw the easel next to the altar. "Lance, put it on the easel. It will be easier to read." He said. "Okay..." said Lance as he put the book on the easel and opened it. The three boys read what was on the first page but saw that it's all in Latin. "Great... does any of you understand Latin?" asked Lance "No, I don't." said Chris. "I have a few notions, but... I don't understand what it's writing." Said Joey. "It's amazing that the book isn't very damaged despite the humidity." The other two nodded, when Lance noticed something. "Hey! Look at the bottom of the page... 'Marcario, 1607'... My god! This book is near 400 years old?!" said Lance, eyes widened. "It's impossible..." said Joey. "Then how can you explain that?" said Lance, pointing at the date. "Anyway... What's 'Marcario'? Is it a country? A city ? Or a name?" asked Chris. "I don't think that a country or a city named Marcario exist... Perhaps the name of the author..." said Joey. "Yeah, I think you're right. It must be the author..." Said Lance. As they looked at the book, the top of the box, which is on the altar, moved a little... That made a small noise, which was heard by the three guys. "What was that?" said Joey as he looked at the chapel. "I think that was from the altar..." said Chris. Lance closed the book and the three guys walked at the altar and saw a box. "A box... made in very old wood..." said Chris as he looked closely at it. "I wondered if there's something in it..." said Lance. They looked at each other and nodded. Each one put a hand on the box and opened it... Suddenly, a big draft hit their faces, making them closing their eyes. It was for only a second, but it was strong. They opened their eyes and looked at each other. "What... was that?" asked Lance a little surprised. "I don't know." Replied Chris and Joey at the same time. "Maybe a draft..." said Lance. "Yeah, I think it was that..." said Chris. They turned their heads toward the box and saw in it... nothing. "It's empty!" said Chris, disappointed. "It's very strange..." said Joey, looking at it and at the chapel. "Hum... I think that we must get out of this... I'm a little scared..." said Lance. "Yeah, you're right... By the way, take the book. We must show it to somebody who understands Latin. I really want to know what is it." Said Joey. "Yeah, me too." Replied both Lance and Chris. Lance carefully took the book from the easel and the three guys quickly exited the chapel and went back to the garden. "Whoa! That was strange!" said Chris. "I'm happy that we found this book! Perhaps it's a bible or something else... I'm so excited." Said Lance, all smile. "I thought that you were scared..." said Chris. "Not now... We're in the garden, not in this chapel..." said Lance. "Come on guys! We must returned to the house and show that to the other!" said Joey. As they walked toward the house, Lance asked: "Do you think that the other guys can understand Latin?" "I don't know..." started to say Chris as he remember something "Wait... I think that Kevin can! Since he read many books, maybe he will understand this one!" "You know... the fact that he read many books doesn't mean that he understand Latin..." said Joey. "We'll see..." said Chris as the guys reached the house and walked in it.
