"Rise and shine, Anthony!"

Crawling out from under his pillow, Anthony asks, "Is it Monday morning already?"

As has happened on the other hundred or so Monday mornings of the year, Roberto overrides Anthony's question and says, "I'll go put the coffee on. Remember you're on your own this morning. I have to be at the cafe at eight."

With a groan and a moan, Roberto is headed out the door, a pair of striped boxer briefs clinging to his torso. Halfway between their room and the down staircase, he stops mumbling to himself, yelling the greeting, "Randy!" Entering the kitchen he stops in his tracks, saying, "Oh, I thought maybe Randy was up?"

"Oh hi Roberto. He was, but when he saw me putting together the breakfast profish... pro.."

"Proficiently?"

"Yeah that's it. He said he was going back to bed."

"Smells good, Jorge." Roberto sniffed at a cloth-lined basket.

"Thanks," he replied, shaking a skillet full of eggs.

Peering around the kitchen, Roberto notices several juice glasses filled. Picking up on the aroma of parsley, he asks, "Where did you learn to cook like this?" as he lingers over Jorge's shoulder, looking into a heap of cooked eggs.

"Oh, I um...."

Figuring it a `sticky' question, knowing some of Jorge's background, Tino appears just in time to bail him out. Instead of providing concrete details, in general he says, "Some of us have the gift-- others can't even boil water or make toast!"

As Roberto laughed, the other two joined in, Jorge settling his eyes on Tino, his smile all that was needed to protect the secret Tino now shared.

Soon the kitchen filled up with guys in their boxers or other forms of loin cloths.

"Brr! I feel a chill," Tino said, adding, "Be right back!"

However when he returned, the only other article of clothing added to his wardrobe was a muscle shirt. Anthony thought it strange and figured he would eat now and ask later.

"Anybody see Zach this morning?" Nicholas noticed.

"He went home," Barry filled them in. "He called home this morning and his parents were kind of pissed at him for not calling them to tell them he wouldn't be home."

Always on the defense, Tino states, "The kid's eighteen. Old enough to tie his own shoes!"

Anthony thought himself right, when Tino appeared in the muscle shirt. After he voiced his opinion, Jorge stomped out of the room, Tino following on his heels, after cursing himself out. "I wonder what that was all about?"

"Lover's quarrel?" Randy suggests.

"I suppose," Anthony said, but wasn't convinced.

Helping themselves, Randy and Roberto comandeered dishing out eggs onto plates, Nicholas, Anthony, Robbie and Barry making light work of removing biscuits from the basket. Each grabbed a glass of orange juice on their way to the kitchen table.

"I think we better think about getting a bigger table, Anthony?" Nicholas poses, the four of them taking up the four chairs.

Seeing the dilemma of Randy and Roberto needing to be seated, Robbie suggests, "No problem. We'll go sit out by the pool." Picking up their plates and OJ, the two excuse themselves, as the other two take their seats, thanking them for putting themselves out.

No sooner had Roberto sat down, chugged down his juice and forked his eggs in his mouth, he was getting up, carting his eating utensils into the kitchen. "Sorry, but I have to get showered and on my way."

"Me too," Anthony replied even though he really had more time to get ready than Roberto.

"Everything okay?" Roberto asked, first one to encounter Tino and Jorge, heading back down the stairway.

"Things will be fine," Tino assured them, allowing Jorge to walk in front of him as they passed Anthony and Roberto on the stairs.

Still a bit sensitive, Jorge forced a smile. Anthony said to the two, "My offer still stands if you two want to spend some time at Applegate today?"

"Leave the directions," Tino said, Anthony jokingly replying, a smile and salute added for authenticity, "Yes, sir!"

Passing through the foyer, a short distance between the staircase and kitchen, Tino and Jorge stopped in their tracks when the heavy wooden door flew open. Two guys they never saw before helped themselves out, to enter. What probably should have been the reverse reaction, Sep ventured to ask, "You two live here?"

"Um," Tino went to set the record straight, instead Adam reaching out with his hands, introducing himself, "Adam Steel and my um," Adam stuttered not sure the two he addressed were friends, lovers or even gay, resisted the personal greeting, saying, "my friend, Sep."

Taking his hand first, Tino made comment, "Nice grip," before introducing, "and this is my boyfriend, Jorge."

Making mental note Jorge filed away the fact, Tino referring to him as his `boyfriend'.

After smiling at Adam, Sep offered his hand to Jorge, saying, "I'm Adam's boyfriend, Sep."

"Something smells good," Adam said, picking up on the aroma of baked biscuits and eggs, his nose luring him towards the inner area of the mansion.

Pairing off, Sep built up a conversation with Jorge as Adam and Tino led the two off towards the kitchen. Tino overheard Sep tell Jorge he was the gardener and that they had been on vacation during the Thanksgiving holiday. As Sep turned to talking about the vacation, Tino picked another topic, well aware it was probably one of the many `pick-up' lines used to stir up conversation. "You workout?"

Adam smiled back at Tino, retaliating with, "You checking me out there, Tino?"

Not showing remorse for his question, Tino replies, "Your clothes cling nicely to your bod!"

Being they were over by the coffee machine, their conversation wasn't eavesdropped on, Sep and Jorge conversing with Randy and Nicholas.

"Next shift," Nicholas said as he and Randy got up from the table.

"Are you sure?" Sep asks.

"I'm sure," Nicholas responded, patting his full gut with his hand. Filling them in on their plans he says, "We're headed over to Applegate to register Randy for some art courses."

"Sounds `nice'," Jorge replies, trying to feel happy for Randy, as the two make their departure.

Sensing Jorge's dismay over the announcement, Tino breaks his conversing with Adam to say, "Maybe we should head over to Applegate today and get you registered for some courses, eh Jorge?"

"Yeah, sounds nice and all but are you forgetting something, Tino?"

Seeing their conversation weaving into a personal manner, Sep and Adam excuse themselves, headed out to the pool on their way to the gardener's cottage, Sep and Adam's nesting grounds.

"So where were we?" Tino said, both sitting down at the table, the last of the eggs and coffee before them.

Jumping to the conclusion, Jorge says, "I don't have money to go to college, so that's that. I'm going to have to find a job and a place to live."

"What about here? Anthony told us we can stay as long as we want," Tino replied, sipping his coffee.

"You don't get it."

"Apparently," Tino says, sitting back in his chair, folding arms across his tank top. "Care to explain yourself?"

"Don't get me wrong. I'm thankful Anthony has taken me in, but the way I figure it is I have my freedom now and I want to do things on my own...."

"No reason why you can't do it a little at a time. I mean, look at me. I've given up studying medicine at some fancy-schmancy university to attend a smaller college out in the sticks. It's a big move for me and I too feel like I need to get a place of my own... well I was hoping it could be a place for both of us."

"Really Tino? You want me to live with you?"

"No. Actually I was thinking it the other way around. Me living with you?" Reaching across the table, Tino latched on to Jorge's hands, reassuring him of his intentions.

"But I've gotta get a job. I don't want you paying for the rent, even though I know... you... you have the money."

"Like I said, Anthony doesn't mind putting us up til the time arises when we can strike out on our own, but why don't we make it a point to shop around for a place to live while we're out today?"

Uncoupling his hands from Tino, Jorge draws back in his chair, exhaling. "Everything's happening so fast."

"Biscuits are good."

"What?"

"I said the biscuits are good and so are the eggs. I guess I can't give you credit for the orange juice."

"Wait. You're changing the subject, Tino."

"I know. So how about we jump in the shower, get dressed, take a drive over to Applegate and then check out the area?"

"I guess," Jorge says.

Not waiting for the twenty-three year old to regress into his hardluck feelings Tino gets up, takes Jorge's hand and says, "C'mon. I'll wash your back if you wash mine!"

Accepting the invitation, Jorge lightens up a bit, replying, "I'll wash more than your back!"

In no time, Roberto was out of the house on his way to the Eskridge Cafe, Anthony jotting down on a piece of paper directions to Applegate University.

"Whatcha doin' there Anthony?"

"You're home, Adam. When did you two come in?"

Setting two mugs in the sink, Adam replies, "About an hour ago. I met your two friends, Tino and Jorge. Cute, especially that Tino!"

"Oh? He compliment you on your incredibly blue eyes?"

Chuckling, Adam says, "Not exactly, but he thinks I have a body that's seen the inside of a gym often!"

"He ask you if you were a bottom?"

"No, but I gather he's a top?" Adam replied, leaning up against the counter, the creases in his security uniform contorting to his worked out bod.

Glancing up at the clock, Anthony says, "Oh, I've gotta get going. Got a meeting with Dean Harriot this morning. You know Doug Irvine took with a heart attack and died?"

"Who?"

"Track'n'Field coach. That's what Harriot wants to see me about... taking on the team for the interim."

"Hmm... I hadn't a clue Applegate had a Track'n'Field team at all!"

"It's been low-keyed. But look, I have to finish jotting down these directions to Applegate for Tino and..."

"No problem. Let me save you the trouble. I can give him a lift if it's okay with him," Adam offers.

"I think he can follow you."

"Oh, so that's his Astra parked out front, huh?"

"Yeah. Nice set of wheels, huh?" Anthony says, trying to inch his way out of the conversation as well as the room, grabbing his car keys and attache.

"Very. We were thinking of investing in a second hand car, so Sep can get around easier," Adam tossed the idea out, along with, "We were thinking maybe you can help us out with a loan?"

Almost ready to walk out the front door, one foot in and the other outside, Anthony stops and reenters. Setting his attache case down, he walks back over to Adam, placing a hand on Adam's shoulder, saying, "Sep means a lot to me and I've grown quite fond of you too Adam. If it's on your mind to look for a car today then do it and we'll talk about it tonight."

With a little smirk on his face, scratching his head, Adam says, "Um, we've already done the legwork actually."

"Oh really?"

"Ah yeah. We kind of know how much we need," he fills Anthony in, a sheepish grin on his face.

"I've got exactly fifteen seconds before I have to walk out the door, Adam."

"Is it asking too much to borrow ten grand from you?"

Walking out the door, he hears Anthony say, "I'll have it transferred to your account. Later, Adam!"

"The pool feels great. Too bad you didn't have time to take a dip, Adam." Sep stood there, only article in his possession, a towel draped over his shoulder. "What's up?"

"Anthony said he would lend us the money for the car. Ten grand, like I was asking for a quarter!"

"Not that I'm one to take advantage, but he's loaded you know?"

Smiling, Adam couldn't help saying it, seeing his eighteen year old lover standing there, dripping wet, his smooth balls accenting his hairy pubes, his 8c nestled among the mix. "Looks like he's not the only one loaded?"

"Don't start what you can't finish," Sep said as Adam threw his arm around his lover, a hand fondling his swollen balls.

"Oh shit!" Adam called out, jumping back, when he realized Sep was all wet, his Applegate security uniform soaked through at the chest and stomach.

Grabbing the middle of Adam's shirt, Sep pulled back towards the pool, to make exit to the cottage, saying, "C'mon, I'll help get you changed!"

Just as Anthony figured it, Alton Harriot presented him with all the details, concluding with a contract usually awarded to those acquiring an interim position.

"And here's the class list," Harriot presented, turning the paper around on the mahogany desk from facing himself, to Anthony.

Reading down the list, just as he thought, the numbers were not at all impressive. "Aldo Yaccovino, twenty years old, science major, a sophomore... Kelan Windsor, nineteen years old, freshman, major in english... Vitaly Ig.. Igda...."

"Igdalev. Vitaly is one of our few foreign students. Nineteen years old, speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish, as well as his native tongue. He majors in journalism," Dean Harriot spelled out.

"I see," Anthony just said, studying the next name on file. Jayab Yousef, nineteen years old, freshman, major undeclared, here on a track'n'field scholarship? How can that be?"

"Hey, he might be one of your best assets, Anthony," Alton tried beefing up the aspects of the team.

Looking down at the paper in his hands, Anthony comments, "Somebody better be!" He concluded with the last one, "David York, twenty-two years old, special education... a sophomore?"

"He started out part-time before becoming fully matriculated." Quickly coaxing Anthony over to the door, now that he's signed on the dotted line, Dean Harriot leaves him with one good standpoint, "If you can do for the track'n'field team what you've managed to do with the swimming team it'll be a feather in your cap Anthony. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some important paperwork to go over."

With the contract in Harriot's possession, Anthony picks up his briefcase and walks slowly down the short flight of stairs leading away from the administration building. Still in his hand he held the roll call of the `track team'. He was startled back to reality when he heard his name called.

"Hey Coach Torricelli! Wait up!"

It was Sean Duffy, Jim Stoan and Josh Berg, three swim team members who skipped campus to be with their families for Thanksgiving.

"Um, hi there... guys."

After pleasantries had been exchanged, Josh asks, "So where you headed?"

"The pool, dah?" Anthony replied in `their' lingo.

It backfired on him when Sean claimed, "The pool's back over that way?"

"Oh yeah," Anthony replied, about-facing, remarking, "I knew that!"

"Yeah, sure coach," Josh said, Jim offering, "Whatever you say coach."

The quartet walked, the swimmers trying to interest their coach in some trivial matters happening over the last five days. Seeing they weren't interesting him in any of the subjects, they made up having class or needing to use the library, leaving Anthony on his solo pace across campus.

"Hey coach!"

"What now?" Anthony asked. Turning around he had to place his flat hand over his eyes, blocking out the sun to view the five guys running towards him. His eyebrows flared upwards as he spotted a tall, medium brown-skinned guy taking the lead, clad only in a tank top, shorts, socks and sneakers, a backpack flying over his shoulder as if a flag. `Damn he's hot!' he heard himself whisper when the leader of the pack got within a yards view.

"You're Coach Torricelli, right?" the `leader' spoke for the other four.

"That I am and you are?"

As he was shaking Jayab Yousef's hand, Anthony found it tough to keep his mind on the big grin, his eyes wanting to see beyond the shoulder-to-shoulder hairy chest. Fortunately for his crotch, he was introduced to the other four, Kelan Windsor, Aldo Yaccovino, David York and Vitaly Igdalev, whom greeted him in all the languages he knew, Anthony assumed.

"We are very excited we are going to have you for a coach," Vitaly said as if reading off cue cards.

"Thanks." Then almost choking, saying it, "I'm sure we're going to make a great team."

"Hey, coach," came the familiar greeting from behind him, Anthony making the circle larger, admitted Robbie and Barry into the conversation.

Upon introducing the track'n'fielders to the swimmers, all stopped talking when Barry looked up at Jayab and said, "You sure are tall!"

His face lighting up, a huge grin painting his face, Jayab, five inches taller looked down on the blonde said, "Yeah? Well you're kind of cute!"

"Uh, excuse me big guy," Robbie wedged his bod in between the two, "but he's already taken if you don't mind!"

Standing an inch shorter than Jayab, he thought it over, coming to the conclusion the hunk standing before him was hotter than hell. "No problem, stud," Jayab replied, adding, "We got to go, but maybe we'll see you later in the gym."

With the five heading off, Anthony giggled saying, "I couldn't figure out which one of you guys should be more on your guard!"

"He better watch himself. If he lays one hand on Robbie I'll punch his lights out!" Barry did his best to make threat.

"Um, I'm feeling kind of hungry babe. How about we catch a burger and some fries?"

Bidding goodbye to their coach, Robbie and Barry headed off towards the student commons. Anthony smiled, thinking of how Robbie could be so hungry after eating only an hour and a half ago. "Burgers and fries at ten o'clock in the morning?" Then he remembered once too he was a crazy college student.
