Book Two

Chapter 11

The cook out on the beach was not a great success. All you had to do was look out into the small lagoon and you could see why. The crew put on a good face, but I knew their heart was not into partying. It broke up early and we headed back to Sandpiper.

I wasn't surprised I had six boys in my bed that night. They were not interested in sex, just wanted to cuddle close to me. Sleep was wracked by vivid dreams or nightmares. I woke up more tired than I went to sleep.

I went up and grabbed a carafe of coffee and headed for my office. I just sat thinking.

Jake walked in and saw me just brooding. He poured himself a cup of coffee and sat on one of the couches.

"All you need do is say the word Ed and Sandpiper is as ready as she can be."

"Jake I'm scared. I'm scared that son of a bitch will do more damage, maybe hit Timatu or even one of the bigger Islands. I'm scared for each one of my crew. How do I tell them one of them might die because I want to destroy that ship?"

"Ed, I'll talk to the crew. I know this was my idea and I'm the one they can blame, if anyone needs to be blamed."

Jake walked to the intercom.

"All hands, this the Captain. All Hands to the lounge now."

I followed Jake down to the lounge. Not caring about the time, poured myself a big scotch and sat down. The crew came in ones and twos, found places to sit and sat down. Some on the deck, some in the loungers or seats. Jake went to the big screen TV and inserted a disc.

When I looked, a picture of the Pau Pau filled the screen.

"Grab a beer or drink and relax boys." He said and poured himself a drink.

"First off, everything that has been done to Sandpiper is my fault. I take total blame. I had to practically break Ed's arm to get him to agree. He did do some of the leg work involved, but changing Sandpiper was my idea."

"You all know what that ship on the screen represents. A menace, a menace not only to Sandpiper, but to every small town, city, or Island within her range. That range is quite formidable."

"A few things you may or not know. The man who controls that ship has vowed to either capture Sandpiper or destroy her. That's one thing I will not allow."

"We know he has sympathizers on most of the Islands in the Pacific. We know he was informed that we left American Samoa for the Marshalls."

Soon after leaving the American Samoa, we shut off the Automatic GPS reporting system on Sandpiper. Effectively now we just disappeared. There are even Maritime Control Messages we have received to watch for us. We should have arrived some where near Timatu two days ago."

Once we disappeared I decided that we needed to change Sandpiper so she didn't look even close to what she really is. Thus all the grey painted canvas and weird add ons we made. All of you can see that Sandpiper is definitely different."

Tonight we will make a high speed run to Tallinn. It's one of the major refueling bases for the US Navy. The US Seventh Fleet will arrive tomorrow morning. The three ships of the Micronesian Fleet will be in Tallinn when we arrive."

"Ed has a plan to take Pau Pau, but it is dependant on getting help from the US Navy. Geo his Father in Law is on one of the Micronesian ships. We hope with him and Ed we can get Admiral Cook to agree to help us."

Now any questions?"

There was a lot of murmuring, but no questions.

"I'd recommend everyone get some sleep. It's going to a long couple of days. Remember we have to look like a warship, so even you as crew must act the part."

"Dress is jeans and white t-shirts, no hats."

Dead on 20:00 hours, anchors locked in place Sandpiper left that no name Island. No lights, but the glow of instruments. Sandpiper was a black ship on a black sea. One hundred miles out from Tallinn we slowed to 25 knots. At fifty miles we were queried by Tallinn port control.

"Send Phoenix of Micronesian Navy." I said.

I hoped no one had a list of ships of the Navy.

We were sent a signal indicating where we were to anchor. It put us in front of the lead Destroyer from Palikir.

Jake hoisted the Pennant of a four star admiral at our main flag hoist.

Now it was a matter of waiting.

Tallinn was a huge anchorage. I had seen pictures from World War 2 showing at least 400 ships at anchor here. Now with just 45 ships of the Seventh Fleet, plus our four and three from Australia and New Zealand, we hardly took any space at all.

The US Navy arrived dead on time. The big Carrier anchored by itself, soon surrounded by picket boats. The water in the big bay was like a sheet of glass. You could be sure that those working on the signal bridge of the carrier were identifying the ships at anchor. I almost laughed when I thought about them trying to identify Sandpiper as she was now.

I went down to dress the part. Helped by Siam and Rad.

"Boy you look like a real sailor Ed." Siam giggled.

I met Jake on the Open Bridge.

"Well let's see if this is going to work Jake. Hoist the signal.

"FLEET COMMANDERS REPAIR ON BOARD." Shot up our main truck.

Geo knew it was going to happen.

"Gig being hoisted out from the Palikir." Jake said.

I was looking at the Bush. So far no activity like an admirals barge leaving it. I could well imagine the Admirals dilemma. He was a three star Admiral and commander of the Seventh Fleet. He was being summoned aboard a gunboat. That gunboat had the four star flag of Admiral of Micronesia.

There was already a gig coming from the Palikir and the Sidney. I headed down to greet our guests.

Geo was the first to arrive. He ignored my salute and wrapped his arms around me.

"Ed, it is good to see you and you look real good in that uniform." A smile on his face.

"It's good to see you to father."

"I am remiss. I don't believe you have met my Flag Captain. Captain Allasioan, this is Ed Somers, My Son in law and friend."

The Captain had a firm shake. He was obviously an islander. His dark skin and piercing black eyes. He had the lines in his face from many days at sea. A seasoned man I figured. He was looking around the well appointed lounge.

"I'm not sure I understand this Sir."

"You will Captain."

Captain Pratt of the HMAS Sydney was next on board. His salute was very navy, belied by the smile on his face. I'm very sure he saw right through the ruse immediately.

"Some changes I see Ed. Looks good from a distance real good."

"All in a good cause Malcolm."

Jake walked in, in full uniform. He shook the hand of both Captains and saluted Gio.

"None of that Jake. You are part of the family too." He wrapped his arms around Jake.

"Admirals barge just left the carrier Ed."

Jake talked to the two Captains, while Geo and I talked while we waited.

"God I hope this works Geo. I am so scared something will go wrong or we don't get what we need from Admiral Cook."

"Relax Ed. I'm sure Admiral Cook has been appraised of the Pau Pau. After all the US has some military agreements with the Indonesian Government."

"ATTENTION ON DECK. SEVENTH FLEET ARRIVING." Boomed from the intercoms

Admiral Cook stepped into the lounge. His eyes darted around the inside and settled on me. I stepped forward and put out my hand.

"Welcome aboard the Sandpiper Admiral."

I watched as a light went off inside his head. Then a smile split his face.

"It is an honor to meet you Sir." His shake was firm.

"No formalities here Sir. It is just Ed."

"Yes well that four star pennant at your truck belies that." He shook his head and then laughed.

"You have my signal and intelligence boys going crazy trying to identify this vessels origins."

"Lets head up to my office and I'll explain this ruse to everyone."

After everyone was comfortable with a drink too.

"The primary reason we changed Sandpiper to look like a warship is we want to find and sink the Pau Pau with your help Admiral."

"Pretty much thought that might be the reason. I have been appraised of the Pau Pau's capabilities and Naval Headquarters Quam, have also decided she needs to be stopped. However we also want the base she's operating from taken out. Intelligence suggests this Emperor also has several high speed gunboats at his disposal, so just sinking the Pau Pau, might not be enough to stop him."

"To that end, The First Marine Amphibious Brigade is enroute from Pearl."

"May I bring my senior Intelligence Officer on board Ed?"

"Of Course."

He used the ship to ship phone to order his intelligence chief to Sandpiper.

While we waited, I explained what I had in mind to draw Pau Pau out of her base of operations. I was very surprised he agreed and added that they had already been looking for ways to get her away from her base.

To have Sandpiper a long way from any base or port and disabled would definitely draw her out.

However he wasn't interested in just sinking her. He wanted her disabled enough that she would run for home.

"If we can draw her out and then disable her enough that she will run, would you in Sandpiper shadow her back to her base. The Marines need an exact target to hit. We think we know where her home port is, but we need to be sure."

I looked at Jake. He never batted an eye.

"Yes Admiral we will."

"Good now, we have to figure out to damage her enough that she will run. We hit her with even one anti-ship missile, it will blow her in half."

"If we could get the missiles to explode near her rather than hit her would cause considerable damage, but might not sink her."

"Too bad the Navy took out its big guns. A proximately fused round would explode over her decks. That would definitely damage her real good." Jake said.

"I'll get my Ordinance Officer on that." Admiral Cook said.

Like we had decided, the Bush's Intelligence Officer agreed that the base of the Emperor had to be in the vicinity of Timor. Probably on one of the Northern Islands. But with so many islands, we didn't know exactly. So getting Pau Pau to run home was imperative. In reality the MNS Palikir was the Flag Ship of the Micronesian Federated States, so the four star flag was moved to her. I'd stay on board Sandpiper and our disguised vessel would be just another escort. That way all the attention would be at Palikir.

We weighed with the fleet and took station far to the rear of the fleet. After dark on our second day, Sandpiper turned South and increased speed to fifty knots.

The Fleet would traverse the Channel to the north of the main Island. Sandpiper would head south, go through the channel to the south and come up on the west side of the main Island. We'd slip into the Bay formed by that old volcano, next to Geo's Home. Here we would stay for the ten days we needed to let the Pacific Fleet finish at Palikir and move south to the Marshalls.

After the Fleet left the Marshalls, they were due to go to Sydney Australia. As soon as they were close to the Australian coast, four Marine FA18A strike aircraft would be flown off the carrier and head for Darwin. They would be going to use the missile and bomb ranges in the NT.

Support and maintenance and armor specialists would be flown to the base as well. How they planned to stop Pau Pau or damage her I had no idea.

Once we received a message that the Fleet had left the Marshalls, Sandpiper would head south. We would avoid all shipping. Timing our arrival in the area designated for our fake breakdown after the F18's had arrived in NT.

There were a lot of things that could go wrong. Pau Pau might not come out of her base. She was reported to have a helicopter now. We didn't know if it was armed and how. We only knew Pau Pau's approximate radar range. We knew ours was 40,000 yards. The guns she mounted we knew were Chinese 76mm in double open mounts. The Chinese 76 had a real range of 14,000 yards. We could do better than that at 15,000 yards.

We could definitely out run her 35 knots.

Well we had ten days here and I told the boys and crew to enjoy themselves. There would be no one at Geo's home that knew about what was going on, so they could mingle as I said.

To my boys and most of the crew meant they could use if they wished the large number of Young men Geo employed at his home.

Maybe, although I doubted it I'd get some one on one with my lover Calvin.

The holiday spirit soon returned to Sandpiper. The very open boys, the sunshine, beer and alcohol, soon had the crew back in great spirits. I did get sometime alone with Calvin, but didn't limit him. He too enjoyed the company of one or more boys from the Island.

I was sitting on the open bridge, alone for a change. Sandpiper was almost deserted. Jason I knew was on board, always working, too much I told him on many occasions. Jake and the engine crew were also on board.

I was thinking of maybe getting some one on one with either Jason or Jake when both walked onto the open bridge.

"We might have a problem Ed." Jake said.

"Really! What?"

Jason handed me a message he had received.

Aaron aboard Sandpiper 2 had cut short the sea trials of Sandpiper 2 and was on the way to Timatu. He had told Sydney shipyards he was going to back track from Timatu to American Samoa looking for us.

"Well as long as we stay away from anyone, we should be okay."

"Ed, Sandpiper 2 can do near 100 knots. Once we break radio silence and say we are broken down he's going to come hell bent for leather to our position. He could get to us before Pau Pau does. From Timatu, we don't know where he will be. Hell he could figure we just wanted away from entanglements and head for Beagle Bay. That would put him real close."

I had agreed to meet Sandpiper 2 at Beagle Bay after he had finished the sea trials.

"So any suggestions? Do you think we should brief him our plans?"

"I imagine the Emperor of Asia would like to get his hands on Sandpiper 2 as well. I think we should send him on a wild goose chase and then intercept him."

"What do you mean Jason?"

He handed me a message. I read it and laughed.

"Yeah that would get him both out of harms way and well off any shipping lanes. How long to intercept him from here?"

"At max, five days. I would suggest we leave and send the message to him when we are 24 hours away."

"Okay, Jake set up a course. Where possible we will travel at night and stop during the day. Recall the crew and I'll brief Gio."

"Consider it done Ed." I had a long talk with Gio, my Father in law. I expressed all my worries about what I was doing and all the things that could go wrong. He assured the plan was a good one and all I needed to do was trust in the people around me.

After the sun set, Sandpiper left the bay in Micronesia. Our next stop would be the test.

The fake report sent to Aaron only said that a deflated Zodiac had been found on the small island of Attu. Attu was just an uninhabited speck in the middle of the ocean. So far from anything that it was seldom visited. Knowing Aaron, I was sure he would head for the Island, if only as a starting point of his search for Sandpiper.

Attu, like most small islands in the Pacific was once a volcano, long since dead leaving only a circular atoll. I had Jake move Sandpiper into the deepest part of the lagoon away from the entrance. We anchored a stones throw from the pure white beaches. Where we were anchored the trees were pretty thick. After dark we would be invisible to anyone entering the lagoon. We just sat and waited.

Jake and I were sitting on the open bridge drinking beer. Siam was on the radar. A couple of other boys were milling about.

"Contact." Siam said

"Range 30,000, speed 40, course 105."

Jake ran a line on the chart.

"Should be him. What do you want to do Ed?"

"We'll wait until he anchors and then pay him a visit."

"That's going to be the shock of his life." Jake laughed. "Swing out a zodiac."

I still couldn't believe I had accepted the radical design. It looked nothing like an ordinary yacht. Almost like an upside down elongated bowl. Aaron was taking no chances as he brought Sandpiper II into the lagoon.

He moved inside about 400 yards then used both engines to swing him a 180. Then he dropped his anchors. WE watched as they swung out a Zodiac and opened a hatch and set a gang plank in place.

"That's our cue. Let's go."

Jake and Siam followed me off the bridge and down to the Zodiac. Gary was at the controls.

"I'm going to." Siam said.

I wasn't about to argue with my Number one Son, so just nodded.

Gary moved us to Sandpiper 2 quietly. We pulled up to the gangplank and stepped aboard. A dimly lit hallway stretched in both directions. It felt like a ghost ship, no sound other than the soft purr of an auxiliary engine someplace. I turned and head forward. I came to one of the spiral staircase and headed up.

As my head came up past the next deck, I saw Aaron and Simon bent over a chart table. Both had their backs to me.

"It looks like you did a real nice Job Boys."

At my voice both spun around. Two mouths dropped open and then I was almost knocked off my feet as both were holding me crying their eyes out. Both started to fire questions at me. I let them settle down. A moment later Siam was holding them. Another long string of questions as they hugged and cried over Siam. Jake and Gary were last up and it was almost a carbon copy of my first words.

"Is this all Father?" Simon asked as the tears started again.

"No Son. Everyone is okay. Why don't you get your crew together and come over to Sandpiper. I'll explain everything."

We didn't need to get them together. The commotion in the large chartroom brought everyone else aboard Sandpiper 2 into the large area.

"I knew them all but three young Abo boys. Aaron introduced them as Larry, Curly and Moe. I almost laughed. Those three names were associated with the Three Stooges of Television fame. Aaron explained that their real names were almost unpronounceable in English, so had called them that. He said they were real good hands. I took his word for it.

"Aaron, lets get over to Sandpiper."

It was almost a mob scene when we got back to Sandpiper. After everyone got reacquainted and a drink we settled down in the lounge. Jake explained everything to Aaron and his crew.

"Well we're going with you. We can mate the Sandpiper to Sandpiper 2 and go together." Aaron said.

"Not a chance son. There's no way on this earth I am putting more people in Danger."

"But."

"No buts Aaron. It is not going to happen. Look, first off we don't know how well the two yachts will work hooked together. Second I have a mind to put most of my crew on your Yacht. Sandpiper can run with a skeleton crew."

Well the words were barely out of my mouth when I had almost a riot when my crew said they would refuse. Mutiny, I thought of and then chuckled.

"Okay, okay. Let's settle down."

"Jake how long from here to where we set the trap?"

"Two days, 48 hours or so at max."

"When is the Fleet due at Majuro?"

"Four days and then a stay of Four days. They leave for Sydney in 8 days."

"So we have six days to figure out what we want to do. I suggest we all sleep on it. Tomorrow or the next we can come up with a plan that suits all parties." I doubted I would be getting much sleep.

It was as I predicted. There we so many in my bed it was hard to tell whose cock was inside me, or whose cock or ass I had in my face. It seemed everyone wanted me or part of me. It lasted well into the early morning.

I awoke to the soft murmur of the diesel. I was also alone.

I staggered into the head and did my morning ritual. After a hot shower I felt better. I headed up to get my morning coffee. The first thing I noticed was the lights were on in the lounge. When I looked out a window, it was pitch black. What the hell, was I up that early? I looked at the bulkhead clock. Shit it was well after 0800, why was it still dark out?

I headed up to the open bridge. What a shock. Sandpiper was mated to Sandpiper 2. I suddenly realized how big Sandpiper 2 was. Sandpiper was completely inside the aft length of Sandpiper 2 and before me over the bow of Sandpiper was at least 65 feet of Sandpiper 2. The main deck of Sandpiper was not flush with the hull of Sandpiper 2, but about 18 inches below it.

"What do you think Ed?" Jake asked.

"Fuck is she huge. I didn't know it would be this big."

"One hundred and forty six feet stem to stern and 53 feet at it's widest. Sandpiper fits in perfectly and all controls except weapons are on the Sandpiper 2 Bridge. The two AI's mated perfectly."

Forward over the bridge I could see several people working.

Jake looked where I was looking.

"Teething problems. The moveable cover for the pool won't retract all the way."

"Well let's go have a look."

We exited the Sandpiper on the main deck into a hall. Almost at once we came to a hatch.

"We came onboard just ahead of the Starboard Zodiac Storage."

As we stepped through the hatch, I saw two Zodiacs. They were on rails.

"That hatch in the hull lifts up. The Zodiacs are slid down the rail and a small crane lifts them off. They can unload these two and the two on the port side in less than ten minutes."

"This isn't how it was in the plans." "Well Aaron made a lot of changes once it was decided that there would be no quarters in the outriggers. The Zodiacs originally were to be on the aft deck. This way every thing is under cover. They also have the scuba equipment here to."

When we approached the hatch on the opposite side of the chamber it slid into the wall.

"Well I see where some of the 125 million went."

"Ed, they are a safety feature Aaron had installed. Every compartment that joins the outside hull has an automatic hatch. They can be controlled from the bridge. If the hull is holed the hatches to that compartment can be closed isolating the Compartment."

"Even the windows in the staterooms have steel shutters that can be closed automatically."

"Jake I wasn't faulting him." I chuckled.

We moved to a corridor of the yacht. The long hallway stretched forward. Several doors broke the walls at intervals.

"These are the Starboard Staterooms. There are four more on the port side."

Jake knocked and then entered the Stateroom. I saw a suite about 8 feet wide by 12 feet long. Two windows broke the curved surface of one end.

"The head for this suite is shared by the one next to it. All have King sized beds and that chair or a couch on the seaside under the windows."

We headed down the hall. At the end to the left were stair going up. On the right they went down. Directly at the end of the corridor was a spiral staircase going up. This was where we first saw Aaron. "Those down stairs lead to storage and engines spaces."

We headed up. Came out onto another corridor. Two doors broke these walls.

"The ships office is on the right and the Galley on the left."

When we came to the end of the corridor it opened out into a huge central lounge. Large windows allowed in lots of light. Deep leather chairs and couches were spread through out. On the office side a large bar was set up with closeable glass shelves lined with all manner of hard liquor. On the other side a serving window set into the wall of the Galley.

I was barely inside the huge lounge when I heard.

"Would you like anything Father?"

I turned toward the voice. One of the Black Australian Hands stood a few feet away.

"I'm just Ed son."

"But Aaron said you are the head of the Family. Custom says you are all our Father."

I stepped closer to him. His name was stitched onto the T-shirt he had on.

"Well Larry that's true, but I prefer to be called by my name. I know some here have my last name, but even they call me Ed. Thank you Larry."

"Would you like anything Ed?" He said with a smile.

"How about a scotch?"

I was very surprised when I found out it was my 100 year old Talisker that he gave me. I knew you couldn't get it in Australia. Aaron must have brought it in from Scotland.

The lounge was big enough you could get both crews in here all at once and still have room to move about. I walked to the end of the lounge and out onto the aft deck, which in reality was about amidships. A couple of hands were in the pool working. From the amount of swearing the work wasn't going well.

"So what's the problem Allan?"

"Ahh the stupid manufacturers put two of the rollers on upside down. Their a bitch to change."

The pool wasn't all that big. It was one of those new Spa pools. You could get the water moving and actually swim. There were also jets around the edges and I guess if the water needed could be heated.

Gary had wanted a pool. Well it was a pool.

I just turned and headed forward. Jake followed as I made my way up to the lower bridge.

Dead center was a slim pedestal with a conventional wheel. A digital readout gave the course. On one side was a radar repeater and another bank of instruments gave engine status plus a map showing the bulkhead doors. All were green. Windows stretched from one side to the other. I noticed all had windshield wipers on them. Something Sandpiper didn't have.

A small chart table sat to one side. There were a half dozen comfortable chairs at all the stations plus three dead center forward close to the windows.

Aaron stepped out of the Chart Room.

"We are in here Father."

Inside the Chart room I got a real big surprise. The room was dominated by a flat glass table 8 feet by 5 feet. What I found out it was a large flat screen monitor under the glass. A map of Northern Australia was projected on the screen.

Aaron laughed.

"We use digital maps Ed. We download them from 'GOGGLE' maps. We do have paper charts for an emergency but these are more accurate and up to date. We can plot our course, input the information to the AI and let it do the work."

It's also a touch screen." This he demonstrated by using a stylus to touch the screen and then draw a line. The line he drew was shown on the screen.

"Very impressive."

The chartroom also had a set of spiral stairs leading up. Access to the upper bridge.

Aaron walked across the chartroom and opened a another hatch.

"This my Day Cabin. Gives me instant access to the bridge, but is also far enough away that I don't look like I'm watching everyone."

The day cabin was about the same size as the chartroom. A large hardwood desk dominated the room. Several big leather chairs and a couch sat in the spaces. A head in one corner allowed him easy access.

An enlarged Photograph of Sandpiper coming down off foils at high speed was on the wall. That I remember happened in the Indian Ocean when we stopped the attack on that tanker.

"Very nice Aaron. Gives you some privacy."

I didn't hear the hatch close, but instantly I had Aaron hugging me and crying.

"Easy Aaron. I'm okay and so is everyone. Everything is fine now."

"God Dad, we were so scared. First the GPS beacon stopped. We figured it was malfunctioning. Then Maritime Control reported you were late arriving in the Marshalls. They though you might be gone. I couldn't accept that so we cut short the trials and headed for Timatu. We were going to search back along the line from Timatu to American Samoa. Then we got the report of the Zodiac."

"That message I sent Aaron. I knew you would head for Attu."

"Sal and I have missed you so much Ed."

"Something else missed me too I see." I ran my hand down over his thickening cock under his shorts.

"Oh God yes Ed."

"You want me to take care of that now or later Son?"

"Now and you got us both Father." I had not even heard the hatch open and Sal come in.

They had obviously planned this ambush, not that I minded. Very quickly I had Aaron sitting on my chest as he fed his thick smooth cock into my mouth. Sal had my legs on his shoulder as he prepared to enter me. Tag teamed by these two was heaven.

It quickly came to mind that Sal had one of the biggest cocks in the whole crew with only Jason and Momo bigger. He was very gentle as he entered me. Soon I was in heaven as Aaron fucked my mouth as Sal reamed my ass. After barely ten minutes they changed places.

Sal's cock was a test swallowing it, but with Aaron banging away at my hole I hardly noticed. I soon found out I wasn't going to be left out. Sal moved back on my chest, then lifted up and fed my cock into his hot hole. After that they got into a real rhythm, with Aaron entering me and me going into Sal.

It didn't take long for m to blow inside Sal. That tightened my hole on Aaron's cock and he blew inside me. They almost smothered me as they just collapsed.

We untangled ourselves and dressed.

Aaron poured a drink for us all. We had barely sat down when Siam barged in.

"So this is where you been hiding Ed?"

Siam was quick to kiss both young men. He had a big smile on his face too.

"More than hiding I think." Then laughed.

That broke us all up.

I knew this was going to the norm for a while. We hadn't seen the crew of Sandpiper 2 for more than 6 weeks and both crews missed each other.

After finishing our drinks Aaron led the way up the spiral stairs in one corner of his day cabin to the Upper Bridge. My first impression was it was huge. A dozen comfortable chairs lined the forward part of the bridge. The controls were all in front of the Center chair. Sandpiper 2 was like most modern vessels a fly by wire ship. Everything was hooked to the AI although in an emergency could be handled without input from the Artificial Intelligence.

A radar station also had a chair unlike Sandpiper. A large covered area had the charts pinned to a table. All were plasticized to prevent them from getting damaged in a storm.

"We decided against having a similar chart table as in the main chartroom."

A wind screen extended all the way across the bridge. When I looked over the screen all I could see was the gentle slope of the bow and a line of windows of the enclosed bridge. The two forward outriggers stuck out forward by several feet on both port and Starboard.

I looked back at the main mast. The ships bell I had bought for Sandpiper 2 in Fiji was dead center. Above it about four feet was a search light platform with two large Naval Search lights. Above it again by several feet was a slowly turning radar dish. Above the Radar platform was a smaller platform with several antennae and two small domes. Above that the flag hoists had the Ensign from Australia and a small diplomatic flag from Micronesia.

"Aaron until Sandpiper 2 is registered in Micronesia, don't fly the diplomatic flag. Also what are the two domes for?"

"Satellite receiver is in one and air search radar in the other. I'll lower the diplomatic flag before we head out."

"You have a very fine Yacht Aaron." "Well it's your yacht Ed. I'm just your Captain."

From the way he said it, I knew something was bothering him, but I'd find out later.

Aaron and Sal led me off the bridge, down two flights of carpeted stairs. We stopped at a hatch.

"This is the entrance to your quarters Ed. You can also use the spiral stairs."

He opened it and let me lead the way down one flight of stairs. The bottom opened into a 30 feet and 40 foot suite. The suite was dominated by the largest bed I had ever seen. Easily 12 feet by 14 feet.

"Jesus Christ. Where did you get that?"

"We had it special made Ed."

"Think we'll all fit?" I laughed.

"We haven't tried it yet." Sal said with a straight face.

The suite also had a small bar. Several leather chairs and couches. Floor to ceiling windows forward. I did notice blinds could be used to close off the windows.

"There are sliding shutters outside in case of Storms Ed."

The head you could get ten in the shower. For one person it was really too much, but I didn't say it. I knew Aaron and Sal made this for me and I wasn't going to hurt their feelings by saying anything.

"Very nice guys, Very nice indeed. Guess we'll have to christen the bed somehow." Calvin and Siam both came in the suite.

"Wow! Can we ever have fun on that bed Ed." Siam said.

"Is that all you think about Siam?" Sal said.

I think Siam thought Sal was rebuking him.

His face changed and I thought he might even cry. Sal grabbed him and pulled him into his arms.

"Siam I know we can have real fun in that bed. Especially if you are in it too."

Siam, ever Siam just smiled.

I led the way up and into the lounge.

"Okay, that's a tour. Now let's hear the rest."

I got nothing but blank stares.

"Aaron, you showed me Sandpiper 2. Now tell me about her. Besides the obvious teething problems, no ship comes out perfect. Tell me her strengths and short comings. You have sailed her. I have not."
