Chapter 7 - The Awakening

The three sixteen year olds arrived back at the house and unloaded the car. Mom Long shooed them out of the kitchen and told them to go have some fun. Mike and I were holding the twins and feeding them, Chad got the funniest look on his face, "Everyone is trying to take over my job. Heck, my sons won't even recognize me when we get home."

Kevin suggested, "Come on Chad, let's go shoot some pool. Jon and Mark are being good for the old men. We'll take care of them tonight while the old people get their beauty sleep which they need badly."

Chad reluctantly followed Kevin to the game room, "Kev, I have never played pool in my life. I haven't the foggiest idea what to do."

The two guys returned approximately forty five minutes later. Kevin was scowling, "So much for not having the foggiest notion of knowing how to play pool. Uncle Doug and Uncle Mike, take this creep back to where you found him. After I explained the rules to the boy poppa, he started studying the angles and ran the table in the second game. I am not going to teach him to play any games on my computer. I think he cheats and guides the ball with his brain waves which he ain't got."

Chad plopped himself down between me and Mike, "Dads, you'd better take me home before I make the juvenile delinquent over there black and blue for bad mouthing me. Speaking of home, where is the place that Mark, Jon, and I will be living? I assume that it is not going to be Iowa City, since you were spending Christmas with Grandmother. I guess we can eliminate Ames, since we are staying with Grandpa and Grandma Long. How far away will we live?"

Grandmother was standing there laughing, "Yeh, Doug and Mike, where is it that we are going to be living?"

Mike looked at me and I nodded for him to answer, "We will all be living in West Des Moines. We will be living in a small house, so it will be a little crowded."

Kevin and Kendra started to laugh. Kendra started, "You and the guys will need to sleep in a triple decker bunk bed. I guess you'd better sleep in the top bunk. By the way, there aren't any closets, so you will have to change clothes under the bed."

Kevin took over, "Yeh, and you will be going to one of the worst schools in the state. The school doesn't have any extra stuff, so you have to provide your own books. Each class will have over a hundred students in it."

Chad was unfazed by the what Kendra and Kevin said, "At least we'll have a place to sleep other than my old car. I still need to go to work so I can support my two sons. Dads, what kind of work do you do?"

Everyone was getting into the act, Mike's Dad began, "Mike is one of those people who works in a doctor's office and Doug works as a flunky for a television station."

Chad was looking very confused, "Then why in the world would you want me to live with you? I'll work and pay our way."

The conversation was interrupted when Elaine came into the room and announced, "Dinner is now being served in the dining room."

Dinner was indeed Mrs. Long's special chili. Dinner was served family style and Chad watched what Kevin and Kendra were doing and mimicked them. He started to eat his chili after he put the chili over rice and topped with grated cheese as the others had done. After his second bite he looked Mrs. Long, "Grandma Long, this chili is absolutely delicious."

Mrs. Long was surprised, "Why thank you Chad; it's nice that someone appreciates my cooking enough to say so."

Kevin stopped eating, "That does it, Uncle Doug, take this hick out of here. He is embarrassing the rest of us."

Mike intervened, "Kevin and Kendra, after dinner, why don't you take Chad to the shack and make sure everything is okay. We are going to be going to Iowa City tomorrow, to pick up Chad's jalopy and Grandmother Walker's car and some of the things that she will need to move in with us. Chad, before you object, let me remind you that we will have six adults to take care of the twins tonight, while you teenagers go do whatever it is you do."

Grandmother went and got her purse, "Here Chad, you make sure that you pay for whatever it is that teenagers do. Curfew is 11:30."

Before Chad could object, Mike's sister interjected, "Both Mother and I reared two children, so we have had a great deal of experience with children so don't even start to complain."

The teenagers cleared the table and Mike and I shooed them out of the kitchen. I handed the keys to the van to Kevin, "Take the van, since it has the garage door opener. Make sure that Chad sees the back two bedrooms. Mike and I have decided that is to be their area."

Kevin and Kendra's Dad, Frank, came into the kitchen. "Please check our house and make sure everything is okay. Also, please check the phone messages for me."

Kevin and Kendra practically pushed Chad out the door. I heard Kendra say, "You ride in front with Kevin, so you can get familiar with the surroundings."

The ride to Des Moines was interesting as the Kevin and Kendra pointed out the few landmarks. When they were on Interstate 80 Chad recognized that was where they had been shopping with Grandmother as the they passed the exit to the Merle Hall Mall.

When they pulled into the garage at Mike's and my house, Chad was blown away. "Why are we stopping at this castle, and how did we get into the garage?"

Kevin and Kendra didn't even bother to answer him and got out of the van and strolled to the door, after closing the garage door. It was like Chad was frozen in space. Kevin finally turned to Chad, "Okay, boy poppa, get with the program. Your dads told us to check on everything and so we will. They also said we were to show you the dungeons where you and your sons would be sleeping."

Chad finally moved and went into the mud room. When he saw the shoes and boots lined up, he took off his shoes. Kendra looked at Chad, "Why did you take your shoes off?"

"Because the other shoes and boots were lined up there so I assumed that was what I was supposed to do. My former mother insisted that we take off our shoes when we entered the house."

Kevin and Kendra led Chad through the first floor and Chad said nothing. They took Chad to the basement. There was a family/game room with a large screen television. Chad was all eyes by now. He hadn't said one word since the tour started. Kendra asked, "Chad, why are you not talking? Did the cat take your tongue?"

Chad looked like he was going to cry, "What is there for me to say? I'm overwhelmed by everything."

Kevin led them up the stairs, and went directly to the back two bedrooms. "Welcome to your new home, Chad."

"Why do I need two bedrooms?" Chad asked, as he opened the door that connected the two rooms.

Kendra reminded Chad, "Chad, your two sons are not always going to be little. They will need their own bedroom and you will need some private time and space as well."

When Chad saw the bathroom the two rooms would share. He just about lost it, "This is bigger than the bathroom my entire former family had to use."

As they were heading for the stairs, Kendra opened a set of doors, "The washer and dryer are right across the hall from your bedrooms."

Chad shook his head, "Whoever heard of having a washer and dryer upstairs? They are usually in the basement."

Kevin started to laugh, "Chad, think about where most of the dirty clothes are found in a house. It only makes sense to have the machines near to where most of the dirty clothes and linens are going to be generated."

When they had entered the car, Chad asked, "Why was everyone making fun of me, and giving me a difficult time about where we would be living? I suppose that my Dads both have good jobs too?"

Kendra got a serious look, "Chad, we were not making fun of you. We were giving you a hard time because you took everything so very seriously. Now please just accept the fact that your Dads can well afford to take care of you and your wonderful sons. Uncle Mike is a well established pediatrician and Uncle Doug is the lead anchor person for one of the local television stations as well as the program director."

Kevin drove by a school and pointed "This is where you will be attending school shortly. It is one of the top rated high schools in the state. I wonder if you will be in any of my classes."

Chad frowned, "That's hardly likely since I have missed a entire semester."

When they pulled into the Hutchins house, Chad started to laugh, "We could have walked here faster than drive. I guess your family doesn't have to worry about where their next meal is coming from?"

They quickly checked the house, and Kendra was checking the messages on the phone and Kevin took Chad to show him his room. Kevin pushed Chad onto the bed, and laid down beside him, "Chad, you are a beautiful person and I wish you would let me love you to death."

Chad pushed Kevin away, "Kev, this is not the time or the place. Kendra will be wondering what we are doing. Please save it for later."

The two guys rejoined Kendra and they took off. Kevin and Kendra decided they should go to see the movie Sweeny Todd over Chad's objections. It must have been an interesting experience because Chad was sitting between Kevin and Kendra and it was like they were vying for his attention. They both kept touching him on the thigh. Chad was having a difficult time concentrating on the movie. When the movie ended, they stopped at a pizza shop and had a pizza. Kevin announced, "We can't go home until your broke Chad."

Chad retorted, "Then I guess I'll start walking back to Ames, now."

When the three teenagers arrived back in Ames, everyone had gone to bed. They locked up the downstairs and made their way to the second floor. Chad went to their bedroom, hoping to find Jon and Mark in his and Kevin's room. They were not there because Mike and I had taken them to our room. We did leave a note on the guys' bed, telling Chad that the boys were in our room.

Chad and Kevin knocked lightly on the door and I went to answer. Chad and Kevin were standing there still in their clothes. I looked at them, "Why don't the two of you go get ready for bed and we'll bring the boys over in fifteen minutes."

When we got to the guys' room, Chad was coming out of the shower. Both Mike and I stopped. Chad looked so puny. He looked like he was all skin and bones. My first thought was that we needed to take care of that quickly. The one feature that stood out was his penis. If the rest his body developed to match that part of his anatomy, he was going to be having people chasing him day and night.

We put the boys on the bed and after Chad had pulled on his briefs, he checked on them. He came to Mike and me and hugged us and whispered, "Dads, please don't play games with my mind again. Please be honest with me and I will be with you too."

Mike held Chad, "Son, if you will recall, it was not us who were giving you a hard time but the rest of the family. Just be thankful that they love you enough to feel that they can do that. Now get your butt in bed. Tomorrow is going to come early for you since we are going Iowa City and back tomorrow."

As Mike and I were leaving, Chad hugged and kissed us again, "Thanks for everything Dads."

We were to find out the next morning what happened in the guys room that night.

Kevin and Chad had one of the twins on either side of the bed. When they crawled into bed Chad asked, "Kevin, would you please hold me? I am feeling a little insecure. So much has happened and I don't know how much I can take. It is like everyone is telling me what to do and I don't know what I am supposed to do anymore."

Kevin turned Chad to face him, "Oh Chad, you don't realize how lucky you are. I can't believe that everyone has responded so positively to you. Heck, I would love to make love to you, but I know that you aren't ready to accept that yet. I also realize that Kendra has her eyes set on you. Can we be friends and mess around as long as we do it quietly?"

Chad snuggled close Kevin, "Kevin, thanks for not pushing. I am so confused. Just hold me and give me a brotherly kiss for now."

The two guys settled down. Chad fell asleep immediately, but Kevin was having a difficult time going to sleep. Finally about two thirty, he went into the bathroom and relieved his pent-up frustrations. When he was returning from the bathroom, he noticed Chad was lying on his back and very prominent bulge was showing in Chad's briefs.

Kevin quietly crawled into bed and started running his fingers up and down the bulge which was increasing in size. The bulge started pulse and Chad bolted awake. "Kevin, what are you doing?"

"I was just rubbing the bulge that was showing in your briefs."

Chad was almost in tears, "Kev, look what you made me do. I creamed in my briefs. I suppose you want me to do the same to you now?"

Kevin started to laugh, "That's okay. I just relieved myself in the bathroom before you creamed your briefs. Now go get cleaned up."

The twins were starting to stir.

Editor's Notes: That was quite an interesting chapter.

I think the other kids were a bit mean to Chad when they told him all those terrible things about how he was going to have to live. I mean, poor Chad has been so badly treated by not only his parents but his former in laws as well. No wonder he believed them.

It looks like Chad and Kevin will become very close, if they keep on going the way they have started.

I hope the next chapter comes out pretty soon, after all, like all the other wonderful chapters we have received from Uncle Ed, This one was great and left us wanting more.
