Resume:- Trevor. a boy born in the slums of the East End of London, has been adopted by a Jew, Isaac, who fled from Austria in the 1930s. This chapter opens in the autumn of 1946.

Two Jubilees and One Spitfire. Part 12. Con.

The beginning of the autumn school term saw an immediate raising of the work pressure. Trevor was beginning to study a syllabus for the General School Certificate, an examination he would sit in two years time. It was as though the whole class was beginning on a new starting line. It had already been decided which subjects Trevor was to study for his General School Certificate:- English - Language and Literature, Mathematics, Physics, History, Geography, Latin, French and German. Most of his class were doing one foreign language and chemistry, but it was decided that Trevor's languages were so good that he should drop the chemistry and do an extra language. The pressure was now on. There was much more home work. Isaac had taught him to be self disciplined, so he just got on with it. Isaac found he was more rarely asked for help, though he continued to keep an eye on Trevor's progress. There was no longer any sense that he was a new comer into his class. He had a wide circle of friends in his class, all of whom called him 'Russ'. Though this is not an account of Trevor's academic progress: that must be kept in mind as we keep up with the other things that were taking place in his life.

If we had looked at Trevor in that September 1946 what would we have seen? He was growing fast. He was now 5ft 4inches. He was getting heavier, and beginning to show signs of muscles and strong shoulders. His hair was very dark, almost black. His eyes were brown, and he knew how to use them to his advantage. He had a retrousse nose, which with his eyes and a broad grin frequently gave him a cheerful and cheeky appearance. His teeth were good, and that was due because of his healthy wartime diet, not to any dental art.

If we had heard him talk, a lot of the strong cockneyisms had gone. Aitches were now rarely dropped. The use of a vee or ef sound in place of th was gone, though anyone from elsewhere in the United Kingdom would have said immediately, 'You're a Londoner.' He spoke with the accents of a middle class Londoner and not that of an urchin from the East End.

The relationship with Isaac was as strong and close as ever. They slept together. They fell into a pattern that Friday nights and Sunday mornings were their special times together in bed. Their love making was as fulfilling as ever. Isaac still delighted as much as ever to suck Trevor off, in spite of the growing size of the boy's cock, and the prolific hairiness that now surrounded it. 'English' and 'Scottish' were still the words they used, though each was done in a variety of ways.

They continued to be able to talk to each other. Trevor shared the ups and downs of school life with Isaac, and Isaac shared with Trevor his working life in the City. Isaac's war time job was now over, and he was back working in the same Merchant Bank as before the war. His war time work in the Ministry of Economic Warfare stood him in good stead, and he now had a more responsible job, and as a result was better paid.

The austerities of post war Britain continued. Rationing became even more severe. In many London streets the effects of bomb damage were only slowly being repaired. It was to be some time before the completely destroyed buildings were replaced. In the City of London St Paul's Cathedral was almost surrounded by an open area of destroyed buildings now razed to the ground. In July and August these open areas were bright with the purple flowers of the rose bay. Trevor, with his friends from school, would go up to London to explore and discover. There were trips to the Tower, and St Paul's. In those days the public were able to go up to the highest parts, and to peer out of openings at the foot of the cross that surmounts the dome. They went up the Monument to the Great Fire of London. With the active encouragement of some of the staff at their school they started going to the re-opened National Gallery and Museums. In the school holidays Isaac often met Trevor after work for a meal and then a visit to a theatre or concert.

Trevor and Fergus corresponded about once a month. Their letters were full of details of school work, and their plans for the next summer. Fergus started trying to persuade his parents, his father was the local G.P. [General Practitioner - doctor] , to let them go off camping in the mountains. Back in Leytonstone the same campaign was being waged on Isaac.

Life for Trevor was beginning to become richer and more diverse. Life was good.

It was one Friday evening in mid November , when a late autumn gale was screeching round the houses in Leytonstone, and Isaac and Trevor were snug together, cuddling in bed. They had had an active session of love making. Now they were in one of their usual positions for talk. Trevor was on his side with his head on Isaac's shoulder, and his right hand idly playing with Isaac's limp penis. Isaac's arm held Trevor close. He was no longer able to reach down and stroke Trevor bottom - the boy had grown too much for that.

"Isaac, we had a shower on Wednesday after games."

"So?"

"There was this boy, he kept looking at me."

"So what? What is it you English say, 'a cat may look at a king'?" said Isaac, more interested in sleep at this stage.

"He kept looking at me ... as though he was interested."

"Shows he is a boy with excellent taste," said Isaac with a yawn.

"He kept looking at my cock."

"And you think he was interested?"

"Yep."

"Is he in your class?"

"No, he's in the year ahead."

"Older than you?"

"Yep. Must be. What should I do?"

"What do you know about this boy?"

"His name is Conway. I don't know his Christian name. Most of the boys in his year call him Con."

"You boys shortening names! What happens to the Smiths and Browns?"

"Brown is Brow, Smith is Smudge, and Dodd is Doddberryfirkin when he isn't just Dodd."

Isaac laughed. "What's this Conway like?"

"Little taller than me. Got a big cock, I think."

"How do you know that?"

"It was half hard, and it was in the showers. I saw it," answered Trevor.

"Well, do you like the boy?"

"I don't know. I've never had anything to do with him."

"I think I should just see if it happens again." suggested Isaac.

The showers at the school were not in individual cubicles. There was a shower area, with sixteen shower heads arranged in a square showering area.

Each shower head had a chain hanging down. Any person having a shower had to hold the chain down, and stand under the spray head. You could bring your own soap, but no boy did. In any case it was still rationed, and no mother would risk it being lost by a teenage son at school. [See footnote] The next Wednesday nothing happened, Trevor looked around, but there was no Conway to be seen.

When Isaac arrived home on the following Wednesday night Trevor greeted him with the words. "He was there again today, like before."

Isaac didn't know what Trevor was talking about. "Who was what, where?"

"Conway. In the shower. Remember? I told you."

Isaac nodded. "And he was looking at you again?"

"Yes, looking at my cock, and then when he saw I was looking back at him, he smiled at me."

"Perhaps he likes what he can see?"

"His cock was half hard again, like last time."

"Got a nice one, has he."

"Yep. Looks big and thick."

"If you don't like him, or if you want to put him off, just ignore him. When you see him looking at you, turn your back on him. He'll get the message."

"But why does he pick on me. There's lots of other boys naked and showering there. Why does he look at my cock, and smile at me?"

"I have heard it said that men who like men, can in some way tell when they meet another man who likes men. They have some inner sense. Perhaps it is like the radar in the war."

"What do you mean?"

"Radar could tell when an enemy aircraft, or indeed any plane was around. Perhaps Conway has a sort of radar that senses you are like him, a boy who likes boys."

"I've not had sex with a boy for years. Only with you, Isaac."

"I know. But we do do it quite a lot, Trev."

"But what should I do about Conway?"

"If you don't want it to go further, don't respond, and show that you are ignoring him. But if you are interested in the possibility of it going further, just give him a slight encouragement, just a smile back at him. But whatever you do, Trevor, be careful. smiles are safe, but doing something with each others cocks at school, or anywhere where you could be found out, could land you, and perhaps us, in serious trouble. But you know that already, don't you."

"Yes, Isaac."

Trevor thought it all over very carefully.

It was now early December with just three more Wednesdays before breaking up for the Christmas holidays. On the first Wednesday when Trevor entered the showers he saw that Conway was already there. Trevor found a vacant shower head, and stood underneath and began to shower. Conway had his back to Trevor to begin with and then he turned. Very briefly his face lit up when he saw Trevor. He turned so he could watch Trevor. He rubbed his crotch with his free hand, and his cock began to harden. He caught Trevor's look and smiled at him. Trevor gave him one of his cheeky grins in return. They stood looking at each other for a minute, and then Trevor left the shower, and went off to dry himself. Trevor's clothes were well away from where Conway had his. They could barely see anything of each other through the melee of dressing and undressing boys.

Trevor told Isaac what had happened.

"I think that was a very careful response, Trev." Isaac ruffled Trevor's hair, it was an action Trevor still liked.

The following Wednesday Trevor was into the showers first. He had just started to shower, when Conway came in and found a free shower much closer to Trevor. Again Conway looked at Trevor. Several smiles, or grins, were exchanged. They stood facing each other, and this time Trevor made more of a show of washing his genitals. Then he turned and let the water wash his bottom with the assistance of his free hand. he turned back and gave Conway a grin. As he left the shower he had to walk past Conway.

"Good shower, Russ?" said Conway.

"Yep," said Trevor in reply. He walking away with a deliberate waggle of his sexy bottom.

But something else happened. On two or three occasions Trevor thought that someone was following him home from school. When he turned, and when he waited, he saw no one. But the feeling was there. Then after three or four days the feeling just ceased. Trevor was puzzled by that.

There were no showers on the final Wednesday, as there had been heavy rain,

and the field was too waterlogged even for school rugby. Trevor and Conway saw each other from time to time around the school., changing class rooms, or in the queue for milk at break time, or waiting to go into the hall for midday dinner. They would now smile at each other, but nothing was said.

Christmas came and went. There were presents from the ladies in Scotland to Trevor and Isaac, and a present from Fergus. There was also a Christmas card addressed to T. Russell. Inside was written, 'Wishing you a happy Christmas, C'. Trevor's best present was a bicycle from Isaac. He was looking forward now to being able to cycle to school.

But it was to be some time before he was able to cycle to school, for as anyone who was at school in the winter term of 1947 will remember, it was one of the coldest winters on record. One train took four days to travel from London to Edinburgh. There was ice on parts of the North Sea. Rivers that had not frozen for years froze. The country was still trying to recover from the war. There were still shortages. Industry had to change from production of war materiel to peace-time production. There was a fuel shortage. The winter was so severe that coal from the pits could not be brought south to London in adequate quantities. Industry had the first call on coal, schools and homes came further down the list. Some boys wore two vests and two pullovers in an effort to keep warm. The cold weather began in January and went on through until the middle of March.

Something important happened to Trevor late one Friday afternoon in February. It was bitterly cold, and the sky overcast, and already beginning to get dark when Trevor left school. Somehow, he never found out exactly how, some of the other boys in his year discovered his guardian was a Jew.

There was very little lighting near the school gate. As Trevor went out of the gate, a voice called out, "Hi Russ, is it right that you live with a Jew?"

He turned and about eight other figures appeared out of the shadows.

"Are you a Jew, Russ?" asked one belligerently.

"No," said Trevor.

"Why do you live with a Jewish pig then?"

"Long story. What's wrong with it anyway. He's good to me. Given me a home."

"Sticking up for a filthy Jew are you then?"

"I bet he sticks it up you!" came a jeering voice.

There was laughter.

"Makes you suck it, does he?"

It was then that someone pushed someone who pushed into Trevor, so that he bumped into another of the boys.

"Hey, don't barge into me, Jew lover." And Trevor was pushed strongly back.

Trevor thought that the abuse was getting near the knuckle, and decided to make a get away. He tried to make a run of it, but a foot shot out, and he fell onto the ground.

"Serve you right bloody Jew fucker."

He got onto his knees in an attempt to get up onto his feet. A couple of savage punches landed in his face and he felt blood pouring from his nose. He fell again, and several kicks landed on him. There were more shouts of 'Jew lover', 'Jew boy'. The shouts grew louder and the kicks more frequent. Trevor curled up with his arms round his head trying to protect his face. Then suddenly it changed. Trevor became conscious that a wider fight was taking place. Another voice was shouting in anger. He heard some blows land on someone; he knew it was not on him. His assailants, being cowards, fled. They had not bargained for a fight, or at least not one where they were not in total control.

He felt an arm come round him. "You alright?"

Trevor turned and saw Conway kneeling beside him.

They looked at each other. "Russ!" "Con!" they both said together in total surprise. They looked at each other for a moment.

"Cor! You're in a mess." said Con. " Can you get up?"

Painfully, and with help, Trevor got to his feet.

Conway supported him. "Do you think any bones are broken?"

"No. I don't think so."

"I think you need seeing to," said Conway.

Trevor continued to feel the blood pouring out of his nose. He pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and tried to stem the flow.

"I'm taking you home with me. I don't live far away. My Mum's a nurse. She'll know what to do."

Slowly, with Conway's aid Trevor limped the three hundred yards to the Conway home.

Soon he was sitting in the kitchen and Conway's mother was attending to him.

She examined him. "I don't think any bones are broken, but you are going to have some bad bruises, and a black eye, too."

She got him to sit with his head back, and he soon felt that he was no longer bleeding. Then she handed him a cup of tea, with plenty of sugar in it. "There goes your ration for the week," she said to her son with a wink.

Then she started asking questions. Trevor told her what had happened. "Are your parents at home now?" she asked.

"Both my parents are dead. I live with my guardian, Isaac Rose."

"Will he be at home?"

"He gets home about six."

"We'll keep you here until just before six, and then James can take you home."

Trevor sat for a further three quarters of an hour. Mrs Conway asked Trevor and James if they knew who had carried out the attack. Neither of them was able to name names. Where it had happened was very dark.

At half past five James Conway helped Trevor to his feet and they set off.

"Thanks Con for coming to my rescue. I don't know what would've happened if you hadn't have come along."

"All in a day's work. I'm glad I came along."

They walked most of the way in silence. Trevor was still suffering from shock. Con just did not know how to say what he wanted to say, but he had the sense to realise this was not the time to say it.

Trevor unlocked the door, and they both went in.

"I must make the fire, " said Trevor.

"No. You're not fit enough to do that. Tell me where the things are, and I'll do it."

When Isaac returned home from work he found Trevor sitting shivering from the cold and the shock, and a strange boy kneeling on the hearth trying to get the fire to light.

"What on earth has happened, Trev?"

Trevor stood up and wrapped his arms round Isaac, and the tears began to flood out.

"What happened?" asked Isaac again, this time directing his question at the other boy.

"He was set upon by a gang of boys. Fortunately I came along and was able to stop them. I took Russ home to my place. My Mum, who's a nurse, saw to him. Then I brought him home here."

"You have been, what is it? A good Samaritan. I think Trev was very lucky you came along."

Trevor began to recover, and was now ashamed of his tears.

"Sorry I blubbed," he said.

"I think I'd better be going," said Jim

Trevor turned to him, "Thanks for rescuing me, Con. Thank your Mum too."

"You sit down, and I'll see Con off."

Trevor sat down in one of the easy chairs, while Isaac and Con left the room, closing the door behind them.

"Thank you, Con, thank you for seeing to Trevor, taking him to your home and then bringing him safely back here. "

"Can I call round tomorrow to see how he is?"

"Of course. By the way, what is your proper name?"

"Most people call me Jim, though my proper name is James. James Conway."

"I think I've heard Trevor speak of you." Isaac looked a little more intently at Jim.

They shook hands, and Jim left.

*** Isaac got the fire burning properly, and prepared a meal. By the time they had finished the water was just hot enough for a bath. Trevor was sent off to have a good soak. "It will help ease those bruises. When you've had your bath it's up to bed, and we can talk in bed."

They talked for a long while that evening. Trevor described what had happened. He was almost certain his attackers were boys from the school. But he had not been able to recognise any of them. It had been a dark place where he had been attacked.

Isaac said he would decide in the morning exactly what he should do. Neither of them slept well. Trevor's body hurt whenever he moved, and Isaac was thinking about what he should do.

In the morning Isaac insisted that Trevor stay in bed for breakfast, and to come down in his dressing gown when the living room was warm. After breakfast, at Trevor's insistence, Isaac went off to the synagogue. Trevor dozed in bed until mid morning, and then he decided to go down stairs.

It was about twelve o'clock when there was a knock on the door. Trevor in his dressing gown and slippers went to the door. It was Jim Conway.

"Hi Con. Come in."

"How are you, Russ?"

They made their way through to the living room. Trevor sat in one of the easy chairs, and Con sat in the other.

"It still hurts. Thanks for last night. Isaac insisted that I stayed in bed for a while, and then come down in my dressing gown."

"Isaac's your guardian?"

"Yep, has been for a couple of years."

"Do you know why you were beaten up?" asked Con. He thought he knew the reason.

"Didn't you hear what they were saying?"

"No. I came out of school and there was this body on the ground being beaten up. I didn't even know it was you."

"Isaac is a Jew."

"Are you a Jew?" asked Con quickly.

"No. Isaac is, I'm not. I thought you would've known! You've seen me in the showers!"

Jim blushed slightly. "Where is he?" he asked changing the subject.

"He's gone to the synagogue. Should be back soon."

"I bet you're black and blue with bruises," said Con.

"Not yet, they haven't got to that stage yet. Want to see them?"

Con nodded.

Trevor slipped off his dressing gown and stood there in his pants.

Con stood up and looked closely at Trevor's bruises.

"You poor chap! I bet you didn't sleep much last night." Con would have liked to reach out and touch Trevor, but he held back, uncertain at this stage.

Trevor put his dressing gown back on. "It still hurts a lot when I move."

"You were lucky there were no bones broken." Con looked at Trevor fully in the face. "It is strange that something ghastly like that should have to happen before we could talk."

"Yep."

At that moment there was the sound of a key in the front door. Isaac was back. "Hello, Jim. Good of you to call round. He's covered in bruises as he's no doubt told you."

Jim and Trevor exchanged a fleeting glance. "Yes, Sir, they sound pretty painful," said Jim.

"Please don't call me Sir. That's far too official. Mr Rose will do, but

Trevor calls me Isaac, so I don't see why you shouldn't. I'm not that ancient."

They all laughed.

"Isaac," said Jim with a tentative note in his voice. "Trevor has told me what happened and what they said when they set on him. There's something I don't understand. There are Jewish boys in the school. There are four in my class alone. They are never set upon like that. There may be the occasional name calling, but nothing more. What happened last night seems premeditated, planned. Why poor old Russ here?"

Isaac thought for a moment. "By living with me, Trevor is doing something which some ignorant people find hard to accept. We Jews are Jews, and are used to being a race and a religion apart. Often misunderstood and hated because of what happened nearly 2000 years ago. The Nazi's exterminated many of us. In this country we are accepted, by some people more easily and graciously than others. But Trev is a Christian. He belongs to their tribe. But here he is living with a member of another tribe, with someone who is different. He is guilty in their eyes of committing a sort of cultural, religious, perhaps even racial, treason. They see him as out of step with what is normal and acceptable."

"That's bad isn't it?"

"Yes, very. It is one step down the Nazi path. They could not stand those who were different, whether Jews, Gypsies, or Reds."

'Or man lovers', thought Trevor.

They continued to discuss the matter for a further quarter of an hour, and then Jim Conway left. Trevor spent the rest of the day sitting in front of the fire, reading and sleeping.

The next day he felt much better, and in the afternoon felt able to tackle his homework. Isaac spent a part of the day drafting, and then writing, a letter to the headmaster of the school. Late on the Sunday afternoon, he walked round to the school and posted it in the school letter box. He had marked the envelope, 'Urgent and Private, for the attention of T. Jones, M.A., Ph D.'

The letter read:- Dear Dr Jones, Late on Friday afternoon, after school had finished, Trevor Russell was making his way home. He had just passed out of the school gates and was in the dark area between the bushes leading down to the road. A group of six or more boys sprang out on him. They started calling out anti-Semitic and other filthy remarks. A scuffle ensued, and Trevor was knocked to the ground. There he was punched and kicked. His body is covered with bruises,

and he has a black eye. Fortunately another boy from the school, James Conway, came along and went to Trevor's rescue. The assailants immediately fled. Conway took Trevor to his home where Mrs Conway, who is a qualified nurse, made sure there were no bones broken. Conway then brought Trevor home just before my return from work. Neither Trevor nor Conway is sure as to the identity of the attackers. I am sure you will regard this incident with the seriousness it deserves. I trust that you will take the necessary action. Yours sincerely. I. Rose.

On his way home Isaac called in at the Conway house to thank Jim's mother.

Trevor persuaded Isaac to allow him to go to school on the Monday morning. "I don't want to miss any lessons. I don't want to have to do more catching up."

At school his black eye and the obvious pain in certain movements of his limbs, made him an object of curiosity to all and sundry. He had hoped that his attackers might reveal themselves by the way they looked at him, but the responses of his school mates was too varied for him to be able to do this. "What happened, Russ?" "What does the other person look like?" "That looks as though it hurts." "Pity you can't get a steak nowadays." were typical of the comments that were made.

Half way through the morning in the middle of a French lesson a small boy came in with a note from the headmaster. "Would Russell go to the headmaster's study immediately." Usually this sort of call in the middle of a lesson meant serious trouble to those summoned. As he left his class room there were mutters of "Three of the best." and "You're for it now!"

When he got to the study he tidied his clothes, patted down his hair and knocked on the door. "Come in," came the head's voice. He went in and saw that Jim Conway was already there, sitting in a chair in front of the head's desk.

There followed about three quarters of an hour of questioning from the head.

One of the questions Dr Jones asked was, "What makes you think that it was boys from this school that attacked you?"

"One of them called me Russ, and that name is only used at school," said Trevor.

"I caught sight of them as they were running down towards the road. But I only saw them against the street lights," added Con. "I'm pretty sure they had school caps on."

Dr Jones thanked Trevor for telling his story so clearly, and praised Conway for going to Trevor's rescue. He told them to say nothing more than what they had already said about what had happened on the Friday evening. Nothing further happened that day.

The school day always began with assembly in the school hall. It was a formal occasion with the whole school, pupils and staff present. The only absentees were Jews and Roman Catholics. A hymn was sung, a short passage from the Bible read, and prayers were said. This part was led by a member of staff, who was on the platform with the head. If the headmaster wished to give out any notices to the school he did it immediately after the service part of the morning assembly.

That morning Dr Jones, dressed in a dark suit, and wearing his black M.A. gown stood and walked to the front of the platform. He waited until the Jews and Roman Catholics, who had been waiting outside, entered the hall. He stood there looking seriously at the school assembled in front of him. All knew from his whole demeanour that something serious was afoot.

"Two year ago the war ended. It was fought in the cause of freedom. Boys from this school gave their lives and service so that we could live in a free and tolerant society. It seems that the Nazi evil they fought against is to be found in a certain section of this school society. On Friday evening a boy was leaving this school on his way home, when he was set upon by a group of six or more others. They called out various anti Semitic and crude remarks of an unrepeatable nature. In the scuffle the victim was knocked to the ground, and was punched and kicked."

At this point several boys turned to stare at Trevor.

"The whole incident would certainly have been even more serious had not another boy who was going home come to the rescue. The perpetrators of this violent act then made a cowardly quick exit. I view this as a matter of utmost seriousness, and one of the worst incidents to have happened since I became headmaster of this school. It is an incident that brings shame on the whole school, staff and students alike. If any of you have information that could lead to the identification of the culprits, I would be grateful if you would inform me, or any other member of the staff."

He turned to the master on the platform with him, nodded slightly, and they left the platform. There was a look of anger on his face, as he strode out of the hall, his gown billowing behind him.

Unfortunately the culprits were never identified; but there were no further acts like it.

The relationship between Trevor and Jim Conway had entered another stage. They greeted each other with warm smiles, and brief words were exchanged. There was no developments from there over the next few weeks.

Then in the middle of March the long cold winter of 1947 relented and gave way to sunshine and warmth. The snow disappeared. But this brought its own problems. The sudden thaw brought flooding. The river Lea flooded into the reservoirs in the Lea valley that supplied water to Leytonstone and the surrounding area. Pollution in the water supplies was a problem for several days. School was closed for four days.

But the thaw meant that Isaac would now allow Trevor to cycle to school.

On the first morning that he cycled to school he went to the cycle sheds to lock up his cycle, and Jim Conway came with his bicycle to the next vacant place to him. They locked their cycles. Now school cycle sheds have a special place in English school mythology and history. More illicit smoking and sexual activity has gone on behind the school cycle sheds than anywhere else. That was not possible at the school to which those boys went. You could not get behind the sheds unless you were in the chemistry lab!

"I didn't know you cycled to school," commented Jim Conway.

"First time. This cycle was a Christmas present, and Isaac would not allow me to cycle before."

Con examined Trevor's green Raleigh bicycle. "Three speed and hub dynamo.

Everything. It's great."

"I think so." said Trevor with a grin.

Con decided to take the plunge. "Fancy a cycle ride on Saturday afternoon?"

He looked Trevor straight in the eye.

"Yes. Why not!" replied Trevor, giving Jim one of his cheeky grins. Both knew that they had reached a significant point in their relationship.

Con called for Trevor and off they went. Isaac had invited Jim Conway back for a meal, and waved them off. He turned back into his house with a smile on his face, and feeling slightly sad.

Petrol was still severely rationed, and there were very few private cars on the roads, so cycling was pleasant even on the main roads. They got onto the A11 and cycled out through Woodford into Epping Forest. They turned off along the road just after Connaught Road, and up to High Beech. They stopped there and wheeled their cycles across the grassy mounds until they could look across the Lea valley and north London. They sat back, perching their bottoms on their cross bars.

"How's it to ride, your bike?" asked Con.

"Fine. Want to change bikes for the next bit?"

"Yes, please. It's good to get some exercise and fresh air." Con was searching for a way to get the conversation round to what he really wanted to talk about.

They changed bikes, and rode to the Wake Arms. They stopped and explored Amesbury Banks, wondering at their history. Were they a Roman Camp or something earlier, possibly to do with Queen Boudicca, who had rebelled against the Romans.

They moved on, turning off the A11 down towards Upshire. As the lane they were on came out of the forest they were greeted by a fresh view over the Lea valley. This time they were facing more north over the countryside of west Essex. They stopped to admire the view. When they saw a stile leading into a field, they got off their bicycles and went and sat on the stile with their backs to the lane. The stile was quite narrow, so they had to sit close together.

"Have you had any more trouble with those bully boys?"

"None at all. I sometimes wonder who they were, but I've really got no idea."

"When the head spoke that morning after assembly he said the remarks were anti Semitic and of a crude unrepeatable nature. What exactly did they say?"

Trevor thought for a moment before answering. "They said a lot of nasty things. I don't want to tell you."

"Go on, You can tell me."

"No, Con, I'm not going to."

Con could see from the determined look on Trevor's face that he was not going to get anything more out of him. "The bruises all gone then?"

"Almost. You can just see one or two, if you look hard."

"Who are your closest friends in your class?"

That started a conversation about friends, and it was obvious to both of them that neither of them had a particularly close friend.

"Do you realise that this is the first time we have really been fully alone together," said Con.

"There was that time you called round, the day after."

"But we weren't alone for long. Isaac came home."

"I showed you my bruises, didn't I?"

There was a pause. "I would have liked to have been able to do something to take away some of the pain."

"What! Kiss them better, like my Mum did when I was a kid?"

"If it would have helped," said Jim with a laugh. "If Isaac is Jew why aren't you?"

"You know he's my guardian, not my father. He's Jew. I would have to have a Jewish mother to be a Jew. A very few goys convert to Judaism."

"Goys?"

"People not Jews. I don't fancy becoming a Jew anyway."

"Why not?"

"I'd have to be circumcised, you chump." Trevor slapped Jim on the back. "You know I'm not circumcised, you've seen me in the showers often enough."

"Yea, I hadn't thought of that."

"We're the same on that score," added Trevor.

"Do you toss yourself off a lot."

"At least once a day. What about you?"

"Much the same. Usually last thing at night, and first thing in the morning."

"Same here," said Trevor. There was no way he was going to tell Con that it was often with Isaac.

"Have you ever done it with some one else?"

"A few times," answered Trevor, being very economical with the truth. "Have you?"

"I have with a couple of class mates a few times. It's good isn't it?"

"Better than by yourself," commented Trevor.

"My cock's getting hard," said Con. "Is yours?"

"Just talking about it usually makes mine hard."

Con put his arm round Trevor's shoulder and held him close. "I'd like to do it with you, Russ," whispered Con.

"And I'd like to do it with you. I liked what I saw of you in the showers."

"Same here. Shall we go back into the Forest and find somewhere?"

They made their way back towards the Forest. The fields at the edge of the Forest had hedges. The side of the hedge in the Forest had become overgrown with spreading bushes. They quickly found a secluded spot. They hid their bicycles and in a small space turned and faced each other.

"Trev, I hope you won't think me a sissy, but I want to kiss you."

Trevor stepped closer, and pulled Con to him, and kissed him chastely on the lips.

"Some chaps don't like that."

"I don't know why, if you like the other person."

They kissed again this time longer. Their groins came together, and they pushed against each other.

"I can feel your cock.." said Trevor.

"And I can feel yours. I want to touch it."

"Go on then, Get it out." Trevor backed an inch or two away.

Con reached down and undid Trevor's fly buttons. He put his hand in and pulled out his cock. He held it in his hand and looked at it. "I've wanted to do this for a long time."

"Now let me get yours out," asked Trevor. He undid Con's fly buttons and extracted Con's hard cock. He held it on the flat of his hand and looked at it. It was hard, and slightly tapered towards the end. "I think yours is a bit longer than mine."

"Not much in it."

A drop of pre-seminal fluid appeared on the tip of both penises. They rubbed the slippery glans together. Then taking their hands away they pressed together. They kissed each, more ardently than before.

"Let's get our trousers and pants down, it'll feel better," invited Con.

Trousers and pants were soon down round their ankles. Then with shirts pulled up they got close, and enjoyed rubbing their cocks together. Four hands went round and found four buttocks, and pulled.

"I've wanted to do this to you ever since I first noticed you in the showers," whispered Con in Trevor's ear.

"I thought that you may be wanting this. I'm glad. It's what I wanted too."

They stood for several minutes enjoying the warmth of each other's body, and the closeness.

Trevor gave Con a more purposeful kiss, and broke apart. Immediately he crouched down and took Con's cock firmly and fully into his mouth.

"Trev! Trev." The first 'Trev' was said with a note of shock and disgust; the second, which followed immediately, was said with a note of pure bliss. "Trev. Trev. That's wonderful. I've never felt anything like it. Where did you learn to do that?"

Trevor broke off for a moment, and with the gift of the quick answer, even if not truthful, said, "Oh, I read about it in a book. You like it?"

"Oh yes."

Trevor resumed his ministrations. He liked the taste and smell of Con. The taste of the pre-seminal juice was like nectar. The smell of a young teenager fresh from the exertion of cycling several miles delighted him. But Con was young, he was horny, it felt very good, and he could not hold back. The greatly experienced Trevor knew what was happening and what to expect. Soon great gushes of Con's spunk were filling his mouth. He swallowed and held it all. When Trevor tried to continue to suck, Con pulled away. "My cock's gone all sensitive, it almost hurts." Trevor was forced to watch the last oozing from Con's cock.

Trevor stood up. Con flung his arms round Trevor's neck and hugged him close. "Russ that was wonderful. Thank you. I've never felt anything approaching that. Not even the first time I tossed myself off in the bath."

Eventually they broke apart. They looked down at their cocks. Con's had shrunk back to a semi-erect state, Trevor's was as hard as ever, and pointing slightly up towards Con.

"I don't know that I can do that to you, Russ? I've never thought about doing that."

"Don't do anything you don't feel happy doing. Just toss me off, you've done that before, haven't you."

Con positioned himself so that he stood slightly behind Trevor with his cock pressed into a buttock, while with his right hand he began to toss off Trevor. Jim's hand worked hard for a couple of minutes. Then Jim too crouched down in front of Trevor. He looked at Trevor's cock just six inches or so in front of his face. It had a drop of the harbinger juice on the tip, it looked as though it was about to drop, leaving its long tail down to the ground. Jim lent forward and licked it off. He looked up into Trevor's eyes.

"You don't have to do anything you don't want to do," said Trevor softly, looking down into Con's upturned eyes.

"I know." He lent forward again and this time kissed the top of Trevor's cock. And then plucking up courage, he took it into his mouth.

It was not the best blow job that Trevor had ever received, but it certainly meant a lot to him. Perhaps not as much as that moment when Isaac first took Trevor's young cock into his mouth three and a half years before.

Trevor had learnt how to keep some control over himself. He decided not to delay. He felt his juices rising.

"I am going to shoot, very soon."

Con pulled his mouth away, but not quite quick enough. Trevor's full blast, or rather blasts, caught Con full in the face. He spluttered, and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his face. Then looking up at Trevor he laughed. They both laughed.

"Sorry about that," said Trevor, still giggling.

"That's alright. All in a day's work."

They stood, arms around each other, and kissing.

Slowly, reluctantly, they realised that it was over for that day. They pulled their pants and trousers up. They got their bicycles. It was down hill into Upshire. They free wheeled down the hill, hands off handle bars for some of the way, shouting out aloud, with all the exuberance and joy of fulfilled early youth.

Isaac realised as soon as they got back what must have happened. He was both pleased and sad. The three of them had an enjoyable evening playing cards.

"You had a good time, then?" said Isaac later, when he and Trevor were in bed.

"We played in the forest. And it was good. But Isaac, know this, you are still my number one. I like Con, I like him very much. But I love you. And now I want to say thank you for being such a wonderful man to me. For being so understanding. For allowing to happen, what you knew would happen. For giving me freedom. For encouraging me. I am even more totally yours tonight, when, how and for as long as you want. Con's got a nice cock, but my old familiar friend down here," he took hold of Isaac's cock, "is still the best in the whole world, and I want it in whatever way you want tonight."

Their love making that night was prolonged, and completely satisfying to both of them.
