The next day, Steve called his boss and told him he would be late for work. Aaron picked up the boys as usual, and Steve told them to meet him at the office after they finished with their morning workout.
Aaron and Colby were allowed to wait while Steve and Sean went in to talk with the assistant principal. After they came out, Steve let Aaron and Colby know that the assistant principle had rearranged Sean's schedule to make sure that either Colby or Aaron were in every class with Sean so he would never be alone.
I made a phone call to the detective that was investigating Sean's case and told him about what had happened. The detective said he would see if he could track down Brain at school later that day to have a talk with. We both knew it was a long shot but was hoping something would come of it.

In the room is Brian Walters, Assistant Principle Jones, and Detective Smith from the Killeen Police Department. Brain, were you at school the day of the assault on Sean Crispin?

Brian looked back at Det. Smith with a questioning look, "It's one of the Axe scents, why?"
Det. Smith smiled and said, "Oh I just like how it smells. Thanks again for talking with me." Det. Smith pushed the stop button on his tape recorder with a smile on his face. He knew he had his man. Now he just needed to prove it. On his way back to the PD, Det. Smith called me and briefed me on what he had learned. He was sure that Brain assaulted Sean, but could not prove it yet. Det. Smith told me he was planning to stop at Brain's house when his parents were home later that night.
Aaron dropped Colby off at his house on the way home. Colby's dad was beginning to make a big deal of Colby spending a lot of time over at our house. I just stared at Det. Smith in puzzlement not sure why Mrs. Johnston from CPS would need to be there as we picked up this other person. I was totally confused at the moment.
