From Last Chapter: Steve and I listened, and I for one, was impressed that a 14 y.o. had put this much thought into his argument. Once Sean seemed to be done, Steve said, "When you first said you wanted to bring Brian out here I wanted to say hell no, but after listening to you, I can see you have put a lot of thought into this idea. But before I give you an answer,I would like to think about it for a bit. Why don't you guys go out for your horseback ride and let Steve and me discus it."

Sean smiled and jumped up and gave Steve a hug before hugging me. He was so excited that Steve hadn't just said no and was going to at least give his idea some thought. After he gave us a hug, he looked over at the guys with this huge smile on his face and said, "Come on guys, let's ride out to the big pond."

The boys all took off walking toward the barn to saddle their horses. Even though we couldn't hear what Sean was saying , we could see that he was talking a mile a minute. Steve looked over at me with a worried look on his face saying, "I'm not sure this is a good idea."

I took his hand in mine and looked into his eyes. "I will stand by whatever decision you make, but I think you should give it some thought. Obviously, Sean has given it a lot of thought."

Steve: "I know, but I just have a problem with Brian being so close to Sean. I know that Sean has forgiven Brian ; but I'm not sure I can. Every time I look at Brian, I see Sean lying in the hospital bed again."

We sat in silence for a few moments before I said, "Maybe Sean can teach us a lesson and show us how to forgive Brian. Sean has sat and talked to Brian. I'm sure Brian is the person he has been texting all week. Maybe, if we all sit down and talked with Brian, we can learn something about Brian that will allow the rest of us how to forgive him."

After a few minutes of silence, Steve said, "I know this is wrong, but I'm scared of what I might do. I'm afraid that if I found myself alone with Brian, I might lose it and do something to him that I would regret for the rest of my life. I have dreams of me finding him alone in an alley, and beating him to within an inch of his life, just like he did to Sean."

I looked over and saw that Steve had tears rolling down his cheeks. I could tell that he was picturing that dream in his mind. I could feel his hand squeezing mine harder, along with feeling his other muscles tensing all over his body. I started to rub his back, giving him some time to calm himself down. After several minutes I started to feel his muscles relaxing a bit. I kept rubbing his back and shoulders for a few more minutes before I wrapped my arms around him and whispered, "I have had similar thoughts, but know that I could never do that to another human being, and I don't think you have that kind of violence in you, either."

After a few minutes to let that sink in, I continued, "I know that I would feel better if we knew that Brian was in fact continuing his counseling. What if we asked to meet with Brian and his parents to discuss this, before agreeing to let Brian come out here to the ranch."

Steve thought for a bit and answered, "I don't want Brian at our house. Let's ask them to join us for dinner someplace. And depending on how the dinner goes, I will consider allowing Brian to come out here with the stipulation that someone other than Colby or Connor has to be here with them at all times."

Giving Steve a nice squeeze from behind, I said, "I think that is a great idea. Let's have Sean get Brian's parents' number for us, and I will call and set it up for later this week. Since I'm sure Sean will want to invite Brian out here as soon as possible. Of course, that all depends on how you feel after talking with Brian and his parents."

Steve agreed, and relaxed his body back into mine. We sat there enjoying the sun shine, with Steve leaning back against me with my arms wrapped around him. We sat there watching the horses that were still in the corral and just enjoyed the others company. It must have been a good hour before we saw the boys headed back in toward the corral on their horses. I was amazed at how fast the boys have taken to horseback riding. All four of them have become pretty good in the short time that they have been riding. As I watched them ride in, it looked as though they had been riding horses for many years.

The boys all stopped short of the corral and got down off their horses. After loosening the horses girth straps, they walked the horses around a bit before leading them into the barn. Steve and I waited at the picnic table under the big tree for the boys to tend to their horses. About fifteen minutes later, they all walked out of the barn and back to the picnic table, with Sean leading the way.

As they got close, I could see the hope in Sean's eyes, hoping that Steve would give him the answer for which he was hoping. I could also see that the other three boys had a look like they had spent the whole time trying to talk Sean out of this.

Sean came up and sat down next to his dad. I was still holding Steve in my arms. It was so nice not to have to worry about Steve and I showing our affection for each other with our boys. They had all accepted our relationship and were comfortable with our way of life.

Sean sat there for just a minute before he couldn't wait anymore. "I just wanted you two to know that we all talked about this while we were riding. Colby and Aaron are against letting Brian come out here and Connor said he was unsure. I told Colby and Aaron that I don't ever want to be out here alone with Brian, and that I would want Aaron or one of you out here with us if Brian is out here. And once Eric, David and TJ move up here, there would be three more older guys to keep an eye on Brian for you."

Once Sean finished, he just looked at Steve, waiting for him to say something. Steve said, "I know that you have put a lot of thought into this, and think it is a good idea. I'm not sure that I am ready to let you be around the guy who nearly killed you." I could see Sean losing hope as Steve was speaking.

Steve took a deep breath before he continued . "However, Mike and I will consider the idea. But, only after we meet with Brian and his parents, so we can make sure that they are continuing with their counseling and gauge how far they have come. Once that happens, we will consider allowing Brian to come out here only when Mike or I are out here. Once we feel more comfortable with Brian, we may allow him to come out with Aaron being out here with you."

Sean's eyes lit up as he listened to his dad give his answer. Once Steve was done, Sean came over to give us both a hug. As he was hugging Steve, I looked over at Colby and knew that he didn't like our decision. I knew that we were going to have to have a talk with him in private about this. As Sean let go of Steve I said, "Why don't you ask Brian for his parents phone number and give it to me, and I will call them to see if we can set up a time for us all to meet for dinner later this week."

Later that evening at dinner, Steve and I both noticed that Colby seemed to be very quiet. Everyone else was talking about the upcoming week, and how fast the house at the ranch was coming along. I was sure our decision to let Brian come out to the ranch was weighing on his mind, and figured I needed to have a talk with him after dinner.

As usual, the boys helped with the dinner clean up and before we knew it, the kitchen was cleaned up and we were all heading to the living room to relax and watch some TV. I asked Colby if he would help me load some things into my patrol car. Usually, I load all my stuff into my patrol car in the morning, but I figured this would be a way to get Colby away from Sean so I could speak with him. I only had a couple of bags that needed to be loaded and I think Colby had figured out my plan by the time we got out to the drive way.

We put the stuff in the trunk of the car, and before I closed it, I said, "Colby are you ok with our decision to allow Sean to invite Brian out to the ranch? I noticed you have been unusually quiet this evening."

Colby looked at me and said, "I'm not real happy that Brian will be out there with us. I don't trust him. I know that Sean has forgiven him, but I'm not sure I will be able to. But I know that this is something that Sean really wants, so I will deal with it. I did feel a little more comfortable when you guys said that he can only be there when you and Steve are with us. But what happens if we go out on the horses and you and Steve don't go with us?"

"I guess that is something Steve and I will have to talk about. But, you guys always go out in a group anyway, which Steve and I like, just in case something would happen to one of you guys, so I don't think that should be much of a concern. I will talk to Steve about setting some kind of rules about you all going out as a group."

Colby looked at me with a smile on his face. "I think I can live with that."

I pulled him into a hug saying, "We will get through this together, so try not to worry too much. Speaking of worrying, how are you dealing with your father's upcoming trial?"

Colby took a deep breath and said, "I'm trying not to think about it. I know it's coming up in just a few weeks. I'm not sure that I even want to go to the trial. I know that Sean doesn't have to testify, but then I want to be there to support my mom, also. I guess I should talk to her about it first, before I make up my mind."

Still holding him in a hug, I said, "Yeah, that might be a good idea. Steve and I have decided to go so we will be there to support your mom, as well. I don't see any reason that any of you boys need to go, but I can understand you wanting to be there for you mom. So if you decide to go, let me know so I can get you out of school. Now, let's get back inside before they think we got kidnapped."

We went back in and found Steve sitting in the love seat with Sean lounging on the couch. Of course , Aaron was sitting in the overstuffed chair with Connor lying across his lap. Colby went to Sean and laid down with him as I sat down with Steve, pulling him into me.

We watched a couple of TV shows before Aaron had to leave and get back to his place. There were hugs all around before he left. The rest of us watched a little more TV, and before long, everyone was yawning and, soon thereafter, Connor was sound asleep in the chair.

Steve got up and carried Connor to bed. I'm not sure Connor ever woke up, since he is such a hard sleeper. I went in to help Steve with Connor, knowing he would have to get him out of his clothes while he was still sound asleep. We got him down to boxers and laid him down in his bed. Steve lifted Connor's hips and I slid his boxers off, knowing he likes to sleep naked like the rest of us. Both Steve and I got a nice look at Connor's almost 14 year old soft dick. I smiled at Steve, saying with a little laugh, "Like father, like son. He looks just like you."

Colby and Sean were both in the bathroom getting ready for bed. Leaving Connor's room, we stopped at the open bathroom door to get our good night hugs from the two of them before we walked to our bedroom.

Colby and Sean finished up and climbed into bed, with Sean lying down with his head on Colby's chest. Sean looked up at Colby, asking him, "Are you OK? You have been quite all night. You don't want me to invite Brian out to the ranch, do you?"

Colby was running his fingers through Sean's hair, looking up at the ceiling. "To be honest, I don't like the idea, but I know that this is something you want, so I will deal with it." Colby looked at his boyfriend in the eyes, "Will you just promise me one thing? Will you promise to follow whatever rules your dad and Mike put in place?"

Sean leaned up to put his face right up next to Colby's face, "I promise I will, and I promise that I will make sure that I am never alone with Brian. Thank you for being so concerned." Sean then leaned in, kissing Colby. The boys ended up making out for a few minutes before settling in for the night.
