LiL Bros Chapter 25:

Michael spent the night at the Parkers home, his two boys and Scott curled up beside him watching movies. At eight Michael sent the boys to shower and get ready for bed, while they were doing that Scott moved over and snuggled with Michael. Peter and Richie showed up at nine Thirty and joined everyone watching the end of Training your dragon. Cory and Derrick thought the movie was good while Scott and Michael thought it was funny.

Have had and enjoyable night with everyone and a good night sleep. Michael woke early and after a quick shower went into the kitchen where he found Mrs. P just making some coffee. "Morning Michael would you like a cup?" She asked.

"Thank you. Sitting at the table the two just sipped their mugs as they waited for the rest of the house to wake up. Hearing the two little ones moving Michael had to smile.

"What is it Michael?" Mrs. P asked.

"Oh I just miss that sound?" Michael answered.

"What sound?"

"The two boys waking up." Michael said as he watched Cory come shuffling into the kitchen. "Morning turkey"

"Morning Daddy, did you stay the night?" Cory mumbled.

"Yes I did."

"Good, I like it when you here in the mornings."

"I like it too, now why don't you go shower and get dressed, maybe I can talk Mrs. P into letting me take you and Derrick to breakfast."

"What bout school?"

"Oh I am sure I can find it, and drop you off." Michael laughed.

"Daddy you silly." Cory said as he hugged Michael.

With the boy's dressed Michael got them into the car and took off to the Waffle house, where the three had breakfast and just talked. The three agreed to find a place they could rent until their new house was built, they also decided to go furniture shopping over the weekend. When everyone had finished and the bill paid Michael drove the boys to school and told then he would see them that night.

Not having to be at the courthouse for the closing arguments Michael went into the Aphex office and talked with Maria for a few minutes. When he was done there he went to the main floor and searched the directory, he wanted to see what floors were empty and who was occupying the other offices, something he had left the accounts to look after, now he was concerned. Having done that Michael went back up to his office and called his account, explaining that the floor below him was to be turned into the offices for accounting and that they had to be done within a month. Having finished with his accounts Michael left the office and headed over to the courthouse. Tomorrow Michael knew he was meeting with the Vice President, so he was hoping that the Heilman trial would be over with this afternoon.

Stopping for a quick bite at a hot dog vendor Michael got himself something to eat and a juice, while watching the traffic and the cops that were following him, thought they tried not to be seen. Walking into the courthouse he was met by Blaskins. "Well you sunk my client, but you haven't won yet. I plan to appeal and ask for a new trial." Blaskins gloated.

"Well I hope you get what you need, though I do know that you will lose again." Michael snapped. "Now get out of my face."

Dylan was sitting in one of the outer rooms when Michael walked in. His note pads littering the table as he read over everything that had gone on throughout the trial.

"Mr. Caine, I was just thinking about you." Dylan said with a smile.

"That can't be good, oh I just ran into Blaskins, he said he plans to appeal and ask for a new trial." Michael stated.

"Well he has the right to appeal, though I doubt any judge would grant it."

"Well I hope you're right, now do I have to be here for this afternoon or what?"

"No, you don't have to be, all that is happening are closing statements. I can contact you to let you know when Heilman will be sentenced, I am sure you wish to be here for that."

"I do, thing is I have a meeting tomorrow that I can't miss, so hopefully it will be sometime next week."

"It usually takes about two weeks, the judge will set the date either this afternoon or first thing tomorrow."

"Great, then I am out of here, I want to pick up my boys and take them to a movie tonight."

"Michael, Zach and I would like it if you and your boys would come for dinner this weekend."

"I don't know about that, we had planned on shopping, and what about my partner Scott, he is upset that I haven't spent time with him."

"Bring him with you, how about we get together on Sunday around two o'clock?"

"That would be fine, I am sure that Cory and Derrick would like to meet Zach."

"Good, then we'll see you on Sunday." Dylan stated and handed Michael his address.

Michael was parked at the Cory's school by the time the bell rang and was leading against the hood when the two boys came out. Smiling he waved to the boys and was soon hugging them. "Do you two have homework to do?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, got to do some math." Cory answered.

"You're lucky I got to read some dumb book and then answer a bunch of questions." Derrick mumbled.

"Well then I guess taking you to a movie tonight is out of the question then?"

"NO WAY DADDY." Cory screamed.

"We can go to and early one then do our homework after." Derrick said with a grin.

"Okay we can do that, now get your butts into the car. I'll phone Mrs. P and let her know I have you both with me."

"Okay, but Richie was supposed to pick us up, wonder why he is late?" Cory said frowning.

"I can ask when I talk to his mother."

"Okay, oh and daddy I wuv you."

"I love you both. Buckle up."

Richie was running late and was just pulling in when he saw Michael's car starting to pull away. Instead of hitting the car horn Richie followed Michael to the mall and parked beside him. Getting out he walked over and gave the three guys a hug. "I am sorry I was late, but I had a flat tire." Richie said as they all stood around the cars.

"It is okay Richie, I was thinking of the boys and thought that it would be a good night for the three of us to be together. I don't know about these two, but I know I miss having them around. I also know that soon I have to go away on business and the boys will have to stay with you and Scott while I am gone. So anytime I get with them is a blessing."

"I bet it is and I know they miss you. Have you found a place yet?"

"I think so I will be looking at it tomorrow morning the only thing is doesn't have is a swimming pool, but oh well. I might even talk to the owners and see if they want to sell, if they do then when my place has been rebuilt you and Peter will have a place to stay."

"Oh well, Peter was saying that we should move in with you and the boys."

"Are you kidding, I like my sleep." Michael said with a laugh. "Now I have two guys to feed and a movie to enjoy, so I will see you later when I drop them off."

"Okay, have fun." Richie said as he got back into his car.

The rest of the night the three spent time having pizza and watching the movie Pixels, though Michael didn't approve of it the two boys wanted that so he gave in. after the movie and an ice cream Michael took the boy's over to the Parker's house and making sure they started their homework before he left and went back to his hotel. Michael was just entering the lobby when he saw Sam sitting there. Walking over he sat in one of the overstuffed chairs. "What brings you here this late Sam?" Michael asked.

"Oh nothing really, I just thought you should know that Craig Brookmeir was arrested this afternoon for the death of his ex-wife also his brother was picked up for questioning this morning." Sam answered.

"So does that mean my family can relax now, maybe I can get out of this place and spend my days with my boys."

"I think you can do that, I know that Curtis Anderson has been given community service and has to help the contractors rebuild your house and fix the theatre. So yes go relax."

"Thanks, but I don't know if I want Anderson working on the house, there are going to be a lot of new things put in and who knows what he might do."

"Michael, you have to give him a chance, the judge is hoping this will make him change his ways."

"Sam I agree that it could, but not on my house, please tell Dylan Masters that, and maybe he can work someplace else."

"It's it your call Michael, however I think this time you are wrong"

"I might be, but I doubt it."

When Sam had left Michael went up to his room and after stripping down went and stood in a hot shower thinking over what Sam had said. For some reason Michael didn't believe that Anderson would change. Drying off and slipping into his boxers Michael crawled into bed and soon was asleep.

The rest of the week flew by, Michael had signed out of the hotel and moved into with the Parkers and his two boys. Cory and Derrick were both happy about that. Michael had gotten the house he was looking at, the realtor even managed to get the rent on a monthly basis after Michael had told him that he was getting his house rebuilt. The insurance even agreed to pay the rent for Michael even though he hadn't asked.

Mr. Talbert had been busy also and the insurance company finally came around when the found the policy regarding the theatre and park. The company said they would pay the full amount for the repairs and asked Mr. Talbert to let Michael know that they are sorry for the delay. What neither the company or Mr. Talbert knew was that Bullinger was going to do the repairs for free and had gotten some others to donate their time and supplies also. Michael didn't even know this and wasn't too worried about it at the time since he was still thinking of the Heilman trial. Michael knew that the following week Heilman was to be sentenced and Michael was going to be given a chance to give an impact statement.

Over the weekend with the help of Scott, Michael and his boys spend the day furniture shopping, getting everything that they needed. Then Michael took Derrick and Cory over to the electronics store and got them new games and movies along with a new computer and play station. Sunday as promised Michael took Cory, Derrick and Scott over to Dylan's for Dinner. Cory and Derrick made instant friends with little Zach and the three played Mario Cart and Zelda on the old Nintendo. Something From Dylan's past. Michael joked about it to Scott and Dylan and All Dylan could do was laugh. "Michael I have kept that thing for so long, I sometimes forget when I first got it." Dylan joked. "I don't doubt it, but it looks like it is still in great shape and the boys like it." Scott said with a giggle.

The following days were hectic as Michael got the house ready while the boys were in class. The day that Heilman was to be sentence, Michael woke with a feeling of dread, yet relief as he dressed in his suit. Breakfast with Cory and Derrick was interrupted when Sam knocked on the door. With a cup of coffee in hand Sam sat at the table and watched as the two little guys attacked their plates of pancakes and sausages. "What time do you have to be at the court house this morning Michael?" Sam asked.

"Court starts at ten so I should be there a few minutes earlier, I just hope I can get in and out without too much hassle."

"Do you want me to meet you there?"

"No I will be fine, besides you have other work to do."

Having Alex and Carl drop off Derrick and Cory at their school gave Michael plenty of time to try and relax. Leaving the Parker's home Michael had made it down town and was just waiting to make a turn when his car was hit on the driver's side. The explosion of the airbags throughout the car were was save Michael from being seriously hurt or worse. Michael was still inside his car when the police showed up. Seeing the cars the first officer called for the EMT's and more officers. Walking over to Michael's car from the passenger side he saw that Michael was bleeding on his face. Yanking open the door, the officer carefully sat down. "Easy young man, we'll have you out in a few minutes." He said calmly.

"I got court, will I make it?" Michael asked.

"I am afraid not son, can you tell me what your name is?"

"Michael,, Michael Caine. Can you call Sam Johnson tell him what has happened."

"Do you have his number?"

It is on my phone wherever that is now."

"Just relax Michael I will get the number from the station."

"I need him to check on my boys they should be at school."

"I am sure he will do that."

Forty minutes later Michael was being rushed into the hospital. The EMT's being careful while moving him. The Emergency doctor's first response when he saw Michael was to call for help and for a portable X-Ray machine.

Once the X-rays were done the nurses started to clean up the blood that was covering Michael's face. Seeing that most of the blood was just from scratches the doctor sighed in relief, the one cut was close to his hairline and that would need a few stitches. The doctor was just gloving up when the curtain was opened and an older Doctor stepped in. "Doctor Walsh I am surprised to see you the first Doctor said.

"It is okay doctor continue doing what you were, I just wanted to check on Mr. Caine, the last time I saw him he was in a drunken state."

"Oh, well there is just the cut on his forehead and his left leg is broken in three places, we are going to have to operate to place the bone back together."

"Do you have an OR ready for him?"

"Yes sir they said fifteen minutes, so I thought I would do this first then take him down."

"Very well I will check up on him when he come out of recovery."

The Police were still going over the accident scene after both drivers had been taken to the hospital. When Sam showed up and was going through the Car that had hit Michael he found a cell phone and a Text message that hadn't been sent. "Officer, bag this phone, and get it to someone who can study it, I want to know where these texts went and how long the driver had be texting, and I want it fast." Sam snapped before grabbing his own cellphone and calling Dylan.

"DA"s office how may I help you?" The receptionist asked.

"This is Sam Johnson may I please speak with Dylan Masters, it is urgent." Sam asked.

"One moment please."

"Masters here, what can I do for you Agent Johnson?"

"Dylan, you have the sentencing of Heilman this morning and Michael Caine was going to give and impact statement right?"

"Yes I was to meet him at the court house, why?"

"Michael was just taken to the hospital, he was in a car accident."

"Damn I am sorry about that, was he badly hurt?"

"I don't know I am still at the accident scene."

"Sam I can put this off, is there any way that you can find out if Michael will be able to make court?"

"I will go by the hospital on my way to the school and see what is happening, but I can't promise anything."

"I know and Sam I can ask for a few days delay, but I doubt I will get it, though the judge does seem to side with Mr. Caine."

Phone me if you do get it delayed for two days I am sure we can get Michael there by then."

"I will and wish Michael all the best for me would you?"

"I sure will."

Leaving the accident scene, Sam drove over to Cory and Derrick's school. Walking into the office Sam noticed that the receptionist was busy polishing her nails while talking on the phone. After standing there patiently for five minutes Sam turned and walked over to the principal's office door. Knocking Sam opened it and walked in. "Excuse me, you cannot just walk in here." The principal said as she looked up from her desk.

"I can when I am ignored by people who would rather talk on the phone and not do their job. Now I need Cory Caine and Derrick Alston brought to the office immediately."

"I see. As for those students I cannot take them from their class without proper consent." The principal stated.

"I understand that and I commend you on your diligence, however I am Agent Sam Johnson with the SCU. And I need to speak with those two. Their father was in an accident and they need to be told."

"You're right they do and I apologize Agent Johnson."

Going back to the main office both Sam and the principal saw the receptionist still on the phone. "Maureen what classroom are Cory Caine and Derrick Alston in?"

"I don't know, check the computer." The receptionist snapped. "Can't you see I am on the phone?"

"I can see that and you have been on the thing long enough. Now do you job or go home." The principal yelled.

Looking up the receptionist was surprised to see the two standing there. "Mrs. Thompson, I think that once you have found me the information I asked for you can grab you purse and go home. I am terminating your employment with this school."

Cory was looking out the class window when Sam walked in. Hearing the door open he turned to see who it was. "Uncle Sam, what are you doing here?" Cory yelled.

"Cory Caine, I won't put up with yelling in my class." Mrs. Westdad said. "And who are you sir?"

"I apologize for disrupting your class ma'am, but I need Cory and Derrick."

"I see well boys go with this gentleman."

Out in the hallway Sam knelt so he was eye level with both boys. "Guys I am sorry for taking you from class, but I had to come and tell you that your dad was in a car accident this morning. He is in the hospital?." Sam started to say when Cory let out a loud wail and started crying. "Guys I need you to get your coats and whatever you need. I will take you to the hospital."

Going back in both boys excused themselves as they grabbed their jackets and backpacks. The class could see that the two were crying and wondered what had happened. Mrs. Westdad walked up and hugged the two then led them back out into the hallway. "Sir, is everything alright?" She asked.

"Ma'am I wish it was, I don't know how long the boys will miss class, but I will have one of their security team pick up their school work."

"Cory, Derrick, my prayers are with you, I hope it isn't something really bad. Now off you go and come back soon."

"We will ma'am. I am sorry."

"Go on, you have nothing to be sorry for."

On the drive over to the hospital Cory called Scott and told him what had happened. Scott who was in a lecture heard his phone chirp after asking it and hearing what Cory had said he quickly grabbed his books and bag and getting Richie and Peter's attention left the lecture hall and ran towards the front door. Both Peter and Richie soon caught up with him as he reached their car. "What's up Scott, what happened?" Peter asked.

"Michael's been in and accident I have to get to the hospital."

"Okay, let me drive. You're too scared to think right."

"Okay but let's go, Cory and Derrick are going there with Mr. Johnson."

"Sure, Richie call our mom's and let them know, that way they won't worry if we aren't home when they get there." Peter said as he started the car.

"You're right, they will probably meet us though, you know how they feel about Michael and those two boys."

The waiting room at the hospital was getting crowded when Scott and the others rushed in. Seeing the two boys sitting there looking sad Scott rushed over and hugged them both. "Cory, Derrick everything is going to be okay, Michael isn't about to leave you two, he loves you both too much." Scott whispered to them.

"I scared Unca Scott." Cory mumbled.

"I know you are, so are the rest of us." Peter said as he joined the others.

"Mr. Johnson, can you tell us what happened and is Michael going to be okay?" Richie asked.

"Richie is it? All I can say right now is that someone hit Michael's car in the driver's side. The first officer that was there did talk to Michael and said he was coherent and doing well, I haven't heard anything from the doctor's here yet."

"What about the other driver?" Scott asked.

"That I don't know, but I do plan on finding out. I do know that the person was texting at the time of the accident." Sam answered.

"Stupid son of a? beach." Scott said changing the last word before he said it."

"It is okay Unca Scott you can call him a bitch, he hurt our daddy." Derrick said.

Cory hearing Derrick Call Michael daddy for the first time made him smile a bit. The five boys were still sitting there holding each other when Mrs. P and Mrs. A came walking in. Going over to the boys they gave all five a hug before sitting down and having Scott tell them what they knew so far. Cory was still curled up on Scott's lap and Derrick had sat on Peter's both boys soon feel asleep sitting there as they all waited for Sam and the doctors to come out and tell them something.

It had been two hours since everyone met at the hospital and finally the doctor came out. "Who is here to take care of Mr. Caine?" The doctor asked.

"We are. " Scott said as he stood still holding onto Cory.

"Well young man, Mr. Caine is going to be fine, he is in the recovery room right now, we had to operate on his left leg to reset the breaks, so it will be at least another hour before he wakes up. I can tell you that young man has a strong will to live. I can honestly say that from what I was told about the wreck that young man shouldn't be here."

"I am glad he will be okay, and now I am glad he bought the car he did." Peter stated.

"Well gentlemen we will be keeping him here for a few days, then he can go home, but he has to relax."

Laughing at that Scott looked at the doctor. "Michael relax I don't think he knows how too doctor."

"Well if he doesn't he will be back here so make it clear to him."

"We will make sure. Mom looks like we have to find him a housekeeper and cook." Richie said with a grin.

"I can do that this afternoon, are you boys going to be okay here alone?" Mrs. A asked.

Yes we'll be fine we'll see Michael for a bit when they move him to a room, then we'll all be home, the little ones will stay with us." Scott said more firmly than he needed to.

"Scott Parker, I know you didn't mean to say it that way, and you know that I would never leave Cory or Derrick alone." Mrs. P admonished.

"I know that mom, I am just worried."

"I know you are, but relax and things will be fine."

Michael was moved to a semi private room two hours later, the boys went to see him and saw that even though he was awake he was still out of it due to the pain medications that the doctors were giving him. Just after the boys had left Sam Johnson and Dylan Masters came into see him. The pair didn't stay long, they just came to tell Michael that the judge along with Blaskins had agreed to adjourn the case until the following Monday.

For three days the doctors kept Michael in the hospital, then it was home to his rented house and onto the couch. True to her word Mrs. A had gone out and gotten a housekeeper and cook to look after things until Michael was better. Cory and Derrick were there staying close to Michael, afraid that he would leave them. Snuggling with them Michael watched movies and reassured the boys that he wasn't going to leave them alone. The rest of the week and weekend Michael stayed at home letting his leg heal and the wounds to heal some.

On Monday morning Michael was up and dressed in jeans with the left leg slit open, a plaid shirt and jacket and was about to head out to the bus to take him to court when Carl and Alex showed up. "Mr. Caine Alex and I are here to take Cory and Derick to school, Jamie will be here in a few minutes to take you to the court house." Carl said as he waited for the two boys.

"Okay, but I can take the bus, I mean it isn't that hard to do."

"I am sorry but that wasn't up for debate Michael," Alex stated. "That came from both the DA and Agent Johnson."

"Damn, can't I do anything on my own anymore?"

"Sure you can, but only when Brookmiers is in jail and Heilman is sentenced."

"Great, okay Cory, Derrick you have a good day, call me if anything goes wrong. I love you both."

"Bye daddy." The two said together causing Michael to smile as he hugged the boys.

"You guys know that these two mean the world to me please keep them safe." Michael said.

"We know Michael, and nothing is going to happen to them."

Just after Carl and the boys left Jamie showed up in an all-black Chevy Tahoe. Once Michael had locked up and made his way down the sidewalk to the vehicle, Jamie stepped out and opened the door. "Well if it isn't the elusive Jamie Algrave." Michael Chuckled.

"I haven't been elusive, I have been working in the background. I have been helping a Mr. Bullinger with the security arrangements you want for your new house, plus some security around the theatre." Jamie retorted.

"Oh well you could have said hello once in a while that way I knew you were around."

"No Mr. Caine this was something that Mr. Johnson and I agreed on, just let Carl and Alex be seen and the Sarge and I would be out of sight but close if needed."

"Okay, Sam seems to know what he is doing half the time." Michael said with a laugh as he hauled himself into the back seat.

Parking at the courthouse was a problem, the parking lot was almost full when Jamie got there. Finding a spot in the far back corner, Jamie waited until Michael had gotten out and moved before pulling into a space. Making their way inside Jamie was about to lead Michael past the security scanners when one of the sheriffs stopped them. "You both have to go through the machines." The man spat.

"I don't think so." Jamie countered. "If this young man went through he would set it off due to his crutches, plus the pins in his leg. At that point you would take him to a room and strip search him which wold be embarrassing not only for the young lad, but for you also. Then there is the issue of pissing him off plus a DA and judge. So do not give me a hassle over this."

"Sir?" The sheriff started to say.

"Jamie, Michael what is the problem here." Sam asked as he and Dylan walked inside.

"Well Mr. Johnson it seems this officer takes offense that Mr. Caine here didn't go through the machine." Jamie replied.

"I see, Officer did you not get the memo that Mr. Caine would be here and that he was not to go through any scanners." Dylan asked.

"We may have, but who cares we have our rules and they say everyone goes through."

"Very well, Sam, Jamie, Mr. Caine let us all go through there infernal machine." Dylan stated.

"Sir I didn't mean that you had to." The sheriff back stepped.

"You said everyone so be it, from now on no exceptions, lawyers police everyone goes through."

With the verbal wrangling over Michael and his group made their way to the elevators and waited. The ding of the bell brought Michael out of his thoughts as they all stepped in and made their way to the third floor. The courtroom was empty when everyone entered. Making his way towards the front seats Michael gazed around wondering who else would be here to see this.

It wasn't long after Michael had sat when Blaskins walked in. Seeing Michael sitting there he walked over and with a smile on his face stared at him. "Well Mr. Caine, I see that whoever hit you did a good job, now it is my turn, I plan to file an appeal on everything the judge has done and I am filing to have your testimony struck as it is nothing but lies." Blaskins gloated.

"Mr. Blaskins, you do whatever you want." Michael started. "However nothing you do will save your client from life in jail. Now get out of my face."

"Mr. Caine admit it you lied on the stand." Blaskins pushed.

"Sir, you have made two accusations against me now. I feel that it is time for the Bar association to know just what you are doing and to look into your intimidation of other witnesses. Like I said get out of my face."

"We'll see." Blaskins said as he walked over to his table.

Judge Frost was sitting in her office going over her notes for the first case when her phone jangled. "Judge Frost, how may I help you?" She answered.

"You can free Heilman, if you don't then some kids will get hurt." The caller stated before hanging up.

Staring at the phone in her hand for a minute Frost started to shake. At first she was scared then she got angry. Calling the Naples police she talked with the captain explaining what had just occurred. "Sir I want every school, mall and playground searched, and watched until this case is over. I also want you to find whoever this caller is and put him in jail. "Frost ordered.

"Ma'am we will get on it right away. I assure you that no child or children will be hurt." The Captain replied.

Hanging up Frost slipped on her robe, grabbed all her notes and left the office. Entering the courtroom she glanced around and saw that everyone was there. Seeing Michael she smiled as she sat behind her desk. "Mr. Caine I am happy to see you, and I am glad that your accident wasn't worse. Now let us finish this case. Mr. Masters do you have anything more to add?" Frost asked.

"No your Honor we do not."

"Mr. Blaskins do you?"

"Not at this time your honor."

"Very well then. Mr. Caine I understand you wish to say something."

"I do Ma'am." Michael said as he stood and grabbed his crutches.

"Please Mr. Caine state what you have."

"Yes Ma'am." With that Michael started to read his letter.

"Death is the final page of our life, one that has been written on the day we are conceived. We can never tell how short or how long our lives may be, but we have to take what we have and go with it.

Life itself is a precious gift one that should not be squandered or wasted, but lived to the best and fullest that we can.

When we are young we feel that life is never going to end and we are a happy carefree child. When one loses a family member or a loved one, the pain is intense, the loss never leaves you.

I have been unfortunate not to lose one family but two. My parents and Brother Adam died when their plane crashed almost three years ago now. I suffered through there death and there loss. After a time I got myself back together and started living again, I became a big brother to many kids that were in group homes. It was through this that I found Tommy, I became his big brother and more.

Tommy became my life line, my sole purpose for going on with life. When I was first told that I could not adopt Tommy I felt that life wasn't worth it. My friends, their parents all got together and through them I did get to adopt Tommy. Those few months that we shared together, the laughter, the tears were all part of our lives.

Mr. Heilman, I don't know where things went wrong in your life, and I wish that someone had come along and given you the help that you needed before you took my brother's life. I honestly want to stay angry with you, I don't want to find it in my heart to forgive you. What I can do is hope and pray that while you are in prison that you suffer, that each and every night you hear the screams of all your victims. I hope that you can pray for forgiveness from the man upstairs, because I will never give it to you.

Mr. Masters, Judge Frost I thank you for this time, and I pray that your judgement is acceptable." When Michael had finished reading his statement he sat down and listened to the commotions that his statement had caused. Looking up he saw that the Judge was shocked and her face had taken on a ghostly look to it. Dylan's face wasn't any better, but it was Blaskins' face that made Michael cringe. The Man's face was red with anger and Michael could see that he was trying to control himself. Standing Blaskins leaned on his table before speaking. "Your honor, I ask that Mr. Caine's statement be stricken from the records. I find it very inappropriate and horrific."

"Mr. Blaskins, I do agree that it is horrific, however I do not feel that it was inappropriate as your say. I feel that the anger and hurt that Mr. Caine has felt over the past while has come out and he feels that what he has said is fair, so I am allowing the statement to stand as is. If neither side has anything more then I ask Mr. Heilman to stand." Judge Frost stated. "Mr. Heilman, you have been found guilty on rape and first degree murder. Why you have done this only you can answer. Now before I pass sentence do you wish to say anything to this court?"

"No I don't." Heilman said with a smirk.

"Very well then. It is the judgement of this court that you be taken from here and incarcerated in the state prison while waiting your time to face your maker. I have considered the request of Mr. Caine and the DA's office and I find that I cannot follow through with it so therefore I am sentencing you to extenuating circumstances. Mr. Heilman may God have mercy on your soul. Case dismissed." Judge Frost snapped.

Malcolm who sat there listening to everything was shocked, his jaw was resting on his chest when the Judge left the courtroom. Looking at Dylan, Malcolm could see that he was just as surprised as he was. "Mr. Masters, what just happened?" Malcolm asked.

"Malcolm, I am sorry, but the judge just gave Heilman a death sentence."

"WHAT! I thought it was agree that he wouldn't be?" Malcolm said in shock

"It was, Mr. Blaskins and I worked that out. Something must have gone wrong."

"So I guess this is finished now and I can go home?"

"You can go home Michael. This isn't finished though, with a death sentence there is an automatic appeal unless the accused doesn't want it. Knowing Blaskins he will push Heilman to follow through with the appeal and the whole thing could last for another five to ten years."

"Oh great." Michael snapped. "Well it is out of my hands, I did what I had to. Now I have two boys to raise and a life to live."

"I wish you good luck Michael in whatever you do."

"Thank you Dylan, and before I forget I hope that you can make it to the open-house I will be having when my new place is built."

"I am sure to be there and I know Zach will enjoy himself with your two boys again."

"Count on it." Michael laughed as he made his way out of the courtroom. Sam and Jamie were seated by one of the windows when Michael came out and where just standing when a heavy set man stopped Michael. "Well Caine looks like you got what you wanted. You ruined a lot of people with this trial and now I am about to ruin your." The man spoke.

"I don't know who you are, nor do I care for that matter, I did what I had to for what happened to my brother. Now if you will excuse me I have things to do."

"You don't get it do you Caine, you're not going anywhere but to hell." The man snarled as he brought his hands up towards Michael's face.

"Freeze Mr." Sam yelled pointing his weapon at the man.

"Go to hell cop, this kid is dead."

"No and if you move one more inch I will put you down."

"Who are you Mr.?" Michael asked.

"I am Arthur Heilman that boy's Uncle. I was also the coach that you got fired."

"Well Mr. it looks like you will be joining your nephew then."

"Arthur Heilman, you are under arrest for uttering a death threat, attempted assault and four counts of conspiracy to commit murder in the use of a speed boat with remote control. You have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford an attorney the court will appoint one?" Sam said as he read Arthur Heilman his rights.

"It's over." Michael mumbled as he made his way out of the court house and over to a taxi. Giving the driver his address Michael went home, changed his clothes, laid on the couch and waited for his boys to get home. His cook brought him a light lunch at one and then went back to her duties. When Michael had eaten he once again laid down and was soon napping.
