MICHAEL & ROBERT

By Trevor Johnson

Chapter Twenty-Nine

This story is a spin off from the adventures of Cliff & Derek. Michael you may recall was responsible for putting Cliff in hospital with some horrific Injuries. Here we tell you his story.

Michael changed, was forgiven by Cliff. Met his lifetime lover Robert and between them established Britain's most successful plumbing business.

This story also contains sex between males including young males. If you find this type of reading not to your liking, please do not read any further.

We changed into our swimming costumes, which I must admit were a bit on the small side and made Robert look very horny,

"It's going to be difficult keeping my wobbly bits under control with you parading around dressed like that."

Robert laughed pointing at my body saying,

"How do you expect me to stay soft, I'll have to keep looking away so I don't get to perve on your body."

"I'd love to give you a kiss and a cuddle right now but I'm not game."

"You realize the boys are going to give us a terrible time don't you?"

"Yes it will be a true test of our will power."

Grabbing a couple of towels, we headed for the elevator and the roof top swimming pool. This was the first time we had been up here since the project was finished and it was amazing to see this crystal clear, massive pool, covered by a great glass dome. Around the pool were chairs and lounges, dressing rooms and shower cubicles a diving board (not very high) along with hidden subdued lighting.

I said to Robert,

"This must have cost us a fortune, any idea how much?"

"No, and I'm not game to ask, but I suppose we can afford it."

The boys were already yahooing and carrying on in the pool along with David. David's `parents' Nathan and Damien were sitting on the edge of the pool dangling their feet in the water and looking very sexy in swimming trunks which left nothing to the imagination.

Paul our accountant and Steve's partner was there, while Steve was still busy organizing phones.

We walked around to join the other grownups sitting on the side watching the boys racing around playing some sort of game. I was surprised to see what good swimmers the boys were wondering where they learnt that.

Just then, the most gorgeous looking guy walked out of the utilities room, stopped and looked around. He had blonde curly hair a skin-tight t-shirt with our company name on it and a pair of very tight pure white swimmers and it was obvious that he was stacked in the male appendage department. His age I would put at about seventeen, eighteen

I said to anyone who was listening,

"Who the hell is that?"

Laughing at the way I had said it Peter replied,

"That's our pool man, life guard and security guy for the poolside area. Great eye candy isn't he?"

Laughing Robert said,

"Whoever employed him give them a bonus and a promotion."

"Ok, I'll tell Steve that."

Paul replied with a laugh.

He beckoned him over to meet the rest of us and to introduce him to his bosses,

"Hello and welcome, I'm Michael and this is Robert welcome to our company."

He shook our hands firmly introducing himself as Mark. I continued with the introductions calling the boys over as well.

I explained to the boys who he was and Serge always being too outspoken said,

"Hey dads, he's a sexy hunk isn't he? I bet you'd like to get him into your bed."

I went a deep red while poor Mark went even redder and the other guys had trouble disguising their mirth.

"Serge that's not a very nice thing to say, don't ever talk about anyone like that ever again."

He put his head down obviously upset because I've never spoken that sternly to him ever.

"Sorry senor dad."

He muttered and I instantly felt sorry for shouting at him.

"Serge you have to think what you're going to say before you open your mouth, do you understand?"

"Yes senor dad, it's just that sometimes what I am thinking comes out as words when it's not supposed to."

I couldn't help myself from smiling at that remark, He is a beautiful boy so young and innocent. I turned to Mark,

"Sorry Mark if Serge embarrassed you, he just doesn't think."

"That's all right I understand and they are such lovely boys."

I thought to myself, my god, he even has a deep sexy voice to go with that figure.

I could feel myself getting hard just looking at him so I dived into the water to cover up my problem. The temperature was just right not too hot or cold.

I heard a splash and then hands going around my waist. I looked around to find Robert hanging on to me in a tight hug with the contours of his body being felt against mine. He too was semi-hard.

"He has that effect on you doesn't he?"

"Yes he's certainly a hunk, I bet the boys make a play for him, I hope he has the sense to realize just how old they are."

"I think we'll have to have a quite word with them."

Just then four young highly excitable boys surrounded us. Serge said, "I hope you dads are going to play a game with us and not get sexy?"

"Maybe later just give us chance to relax for a while were both very tired boys, ok?'

"Ok dads but don't be tired too long or we'll come and get you."

We both swam from one end of the pool to the other while the boys went back to their game.

Steve and Paul joined us and I commented on the pool guard. Grinning Steve said, "Yes he certainly hot and he is gay as well."

"How did you find that out?"

"At the interview he said I hope you don't mind but I'm gay. As if, we'd mind."

"And the sixty four thousand dollar question does he have a boyfriend?"

"From what I can gather he's just broke up with his lover and feeling a bit down at the moment."

"Which of us is going to cheer him up then?" I asked with a laugh.

Just then, the boys surrounded us splashing water. Apparently, each boy had to get on an adults shoulder and chase the other three the winner being the last one standing. I got Serge and Robert, Miguel, with David and Ferdy choosing Steve and Peter.

I don't know if it was deliberate or not but Serge kept rubbing his hard cock up and down the back of my neck.

He whispered, "You like senor dad?" "No I don't senor Serge."

He laughed before urging me on to knock David off his perch. By the time a voice came over the loudspeaker system telling us dinner would soon be ready I was exhausted. We all quickly changed and showered before heading down to the dining room.

The boys were still hypo over the swim and a couple of times I had to tell them to settle down.

After dinner, we all sat around watching television too tired to do anything else. I think everyone had an early night.

Next morning after breakfast, we took the boys to school, and then it was time for the usual management meeting. We had decided that only Steve and we two need to know about the phone tapping. The meeting had just started when Bill arrive back from the Channel Tunnel project. He looked as if he had aged twenty years since he left just a few days ago. "What's the matter Bill you don't look too good?"

"Nothing really just a bit tired that's all." "Well you have been very busy and working under a lot of stress lately so I suggest you go home right now to your lovely wife, pack a couple of bags and take two weeks holiday at our expense anywhere you like except Spain."

Everyone laughed at that but Bill shook his head saying, "Thanks but no thanks, but I will take the rest of the week off and just rest up at home."

While we kept onto him to take longer time off, he was adamant that a few days at home would be enough. After he had gone, Shirley remarked just how ill he looked,

"I think that attack on the work camp didn't do him too good and I hope he rests up properly."

After the meeting we went to our office signed a few documents and sat around chatting.

"Talking about holidays the boys only have a couple of weeks left before school holidays and Christmas is coming as well, what can we do with the boys over the break?"

Robert thought for a while then said, "We've been invited to Brighton with Cliff and Derek after Christmas while Cliff's in pantomime so that a week maybe more but the ten days before Christmas what do you think of the idea of taking the boys to Disney world in Florida?"

"Stuff the boys I've always wanted to go there as well." I answered with a laugh.

"We won't tell the boys just yet but go ahead and book anyway, and of course David will have to come as well."

"Let's go the whole hog and invite his fathers as well."

Laughing I said, "And I suppose you'd like the pool boy as well?"

"Now that would be good, but it wouldn't be setting a good example for the boys."

"We spent the rest of the afternoon planning the trip and before we went to pick up the boys it was all arranged.

We didn't let on to the boys what was being planned and over dinner that night I asked the boys what would they like to do over the school holidays.

"Senor Dads we don't care what we do just as long as you are with us."

"Of course we'll be with you, but is there anywhere special you would like us to go?"

They all thought for a while before answering, "Are we still going to see Cliff and Derek after Christmas?"

"Yes, that's all arranged but is there anywhere else you'd like to go?"

"What about Disneyworld dad, we'd love to go there but it would cost a lot of money."

Robert and I both smiled at each other and winked, "we were going to keep it as a surprise but as soon as school is finished for the year we're off to Florida and Disneyworld."

A mighty cheer went up and we were swamped in kisses and hugs, you're the best dads ever we thank you so much."

It was wonderful to see their happy beaming faces. Robert looked at his watch and said,

"Come on boys it's time for showers and bed."

Ferdy and David gave us both a kiss before heading off but Serge and Miguel waited until the other two had gone and then approached.

"Senor Dads, can we ask you something?"

"Of course anytime you have anything to say or tell us we want to hear it."

"Well, it's like this dads, Ferdy and David are living together right?" We nodded our heads in agreement, neither of us sure, where this conversation was going.

"Well, Miguel and I have got very close just lately if you get what we mean." Again, we nodded our heads.

"We both love each other very much, but not as brothers like we used to but as lovers and would it be all right if we moved in with each other and become a couple like Ferdy and David?'

Both of us smiled and agreed, "Of course boys, we love you dearly and if you both want to be together all the time we think that is wonderful, after all you're not blood brothers anyway, I think this calls for a group hug and a kiss."

After we had hugged and kissed for a while the boys ran off hand in hand to move Serge's stuff into Miguel's room because he had the bigger bedroom.

"I thought it was going to be something a bit more serious than that, but our boys are now happy in relationships which look like lasting."

"A bit like ours." Robert replied.

Whenever something drastic happens, in the company it appears to be in the middle of the night and tonight was no exception. We both woke up at about four am with someone banging on the door.

I jumped out of bed to answer and it was Steve. "Sorry to disturb but I thought you would like to know that Bill had a massive heart attack about an hour ago and is in intensive care in the hospital."

We were both shocked at the news, because Bill had been with Robert's father when he started the business all those years ago and since his parents were killed as been our mainstay helping us through some difficult times.

"Could you organize a car for us Steve to go to the hospital his wife Marjory will need some support right now, because all their children live some distance away, also can you let Shirley know as well please?"

Steve went to do as we asked while we quickly got dressed and rode down to the car park were Natalie was waiting to take us to the hospital. We rode down the hill in silence and with no traffic around that time of the morning we got to the hospital in quick time. We were shown into intensive care almost straight away, and found Bill lying there looking deathly white with tubes coming out of various parts of his body.

Marjory came rushing over tears in her eyes, "Thank you for coming, he keeps drifting in and out of consciousness, but keeps asking for you two."

We comforted Marjory as well as we could. A doctor came in to check on Bill and we asked to speak to him, introducing ourselves we said, "How bad is he doctor is he going to come out of this all right?"

"I'm sorry but there's no other way to put this but to say that Bill as had a massive heart attack. The heart is seriously damaged and I doubt if he will last more than another few hours if that. I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do but make him comfortable."

"Have you explained this to his wife?" "Not yet I was just about to do it."

"Would like me to tell her?" The relief on the doctor's face said it all, "I would be grateful if you did, I have trouble coping with grieving relatives, thank you so much."

We both moved over to Bill's bedside looking down at this poor man struggling to stay alive wondering how such a wonderful caring man could become a human vegetable in so short a time.

"We both spoke to Bill not sure if he could hear us but anyway we spoke softly to him, "Hi Bill how you going? You'll have to get well and out of that bed pretty quick."

We tried to sound cheerful but didn't appear to be doing a good job of it and both of us were close to tears.

Marjory came back in to the room and with one of us on each side we took her over to an area which had several chairs for visitors to sit on.

Holding her hands I said, "Marjory the doctor as just spoken to us and while they are doing everything possible to help Bill it doesn't look good." She put her hand on my lips to stop me talking.

"You don't have to say anymore Michael, Bill is dying I can see that and there's nothing can be done." Tears began to silently flow down her cheeks as we both held her hand consoling her the best we could.

"He was a good man and the best husband anyone could possibly have. Although he isn't like you two he thought a lot of you and admired the way you stood up for gay rights. He never stopped talking to anyone who would listen when you brought those wonderful boys of yours home; he loved you two and those boys as if you were his own."

By now, all three of us were crying and we stayed hugging each other for quite a while.

Marjory laid her head on the table closing her eyes so we left her going back over to Bill one on either side holding his hand. We just sat there not looking at anything in particular we heard a soft familiar voice say, "You can hold my hand but no kissing me all right?"

We looked up with a start to see Bill a weak smile on his face, his eyes open looking at us both.

"Hi Bill how are you?"

"Not too good guys, I'm not long for this world so please listen. Look after Marjory for me will you she's never been on her own for long, and the kids don't call round much anymore they have their own lives to lead. Take extra care of those three lovely boys of yours they are worth their weight in gold. Robert, I'll say hello to your mum and dad and tell them how well your doing, but I bet they already know that and watch over you all the time. I'm proud of you two, you have done your family proud and I know you will be all right from now on in without me."

I think that was the most I have ever heard Bill say in one sentence before. He sighed deeply closed his eyes and the machines he was hooked up to began beeping like crazy. Doctors and nurses came from everywhere pushing us to one side. Marjory let out a big scream and came rushing over, but it was too late he was gone.

All three of us cried on each other's shoulders as one of the nurses guided us out of the ward to a small reception area. She sat us down with a cup of coffee as we continued to mourn the passing of a dear old friend.

It was daylight when we left the hospital. First of all Natalie took Marjory home. We did offer to take her back to our place to stay for a few days but she refused. Robert told her that if she wished we would attend to all the funeral arrangements and she thanked us for that.

We stopped outside her house, and a couple of neighbours came out to see what was happening and they offered to look after Marjory.

By the time we arrived back at the office building word had already spread about Bill. Tributes and condolences had already begun to flow in from customers and rivals alike. There was an air of gloom in the dining room when we arrived for breakfast. The boys came up to us crying asking if it was true that `daddy Bill' had passed away. We told them yes and more tears flowed. Nathan and Damien came in suggesting that they take the boys to their place for the rest of the day. We agreed that would be better than school, considering the state they were in.

We hugged the boys as they left telling them that we would see them later.

The rest of the day was spent organizing the funeral, which would be in three days' time. We rang Tony and Trent near Folkstone telling them the news and they were both very upset because it was Bill who organized their apprenticeship with the company and mentored them throughout their careers.

We also sent word out that the day of the funeral no work would be done and any workers on jobs some distance away would be flown into town to pay their respects if they wished.

By the end of the day we were both exhausted both psychically and mentally. The boys were still with David's fathers and we headed down there after dinner to find everyone laying around in the lounge watching television. The boys jumped up to greet us both, with no smiles or happiness, which is how we are usually greeted. The death of `Daddy Bill' had hit them just as hard as it did us.

Nathan suggested that we leave the boys with them overnight and we agreed.

That night as we went to bed we missed tucking the boys into bed and kissing them goodnight and that made us more depressed than ever. Just then the phone rang, which was strange for this time of night.

It was the boys calling to wish us goodnight and telling us how much they loved us. We loved them back before saying goodnight and both of us were in a better frame of mind as we kissed and cuddled before dropping off to sleep.

It was a very quiet management meeting the next morning with the main topic being the funeral. It was going to be a very big turn out because Bill was well known and respected in the community and in the plumbing industry. After the funeral, everyone was invited back to the office with plans being made for a massive marquee to be erected on the roof next to the pool area. Sally said she would arrange the caterers while Steve looked after the marquee and security. Two elevators would run from the car park to the rooftop, express with no one allowed to get off in between for security reasons.

Nathan arrived with a press release to go out offering our sympathy and saying how much he would be missed and so on.

"I know he's not buried yet but we should begin thinking about Bill's replacement." Robert said.

"Would you all give it some thought over the next couple of days so we can announce who it will be straight after the funeral. First of all I think we should look at promoting within the company and then if no one catches our eye look further afield."

The next couple of days went by in a blur. Phone calls from people we hardly knew, flowers and tributes arriving by the van load. The boys came back home and we sent them up to the pool out of the way most of the time but they too weren't very happy.

The police had arranged for some streets to closed off near the church because of the crowds expected, while the mayor declared that flags on all public buildings would be at half-mast. The boys looked immaculate in suits and ties as did all of the male staff for that matter.

We arrived at the church standing around outside supporting Marjory. Bill and Marjory's family had arrived but they kept to themselves and more or less ignored their mother.

Finally, it was time to move into the church. We had seats down the front but those arriving late found that it was standing room only.

Bill's coffin at Marjory's request was closed which was good because I don't think either of us could have coped with seeing Bill lying there.

The service was just that a funeral service and a very sad affair. Serge and the boys wanted to sit between Robert and I, which we agreed to. All four boys where finding the whole service hard to handle and I thought it might have been better if we had left them at home.

Afterwards we all slowly followed the coffin out with Shirley supporting Marjory.

Steve was very much on edge because of the crush of people and he was finding it difficult for his team to look after the boys and us. On the fringe of the crowd was a lone protester with a banner saying `All gays should be banished to the fires of hell,' or something like that but the local police very quickly moved him on. The media also were out in force and Nathan had his work cut out keeping them at bay. After standing around for about thirty minutes the funeral director asked us to move to our vehicles ready to follow the hearse to the cemetery.

At the cemetery, we found it very difficult to control our emotions as Bill's coffin was being lowered into the ground. thankfully, it was soon all over and we headed back to the office for the wake. Bill wasn't much of a drinker so we had decided that only wine and beer would be served, but we didn't skimp on the food. I estimated about four hundred people joined us on the rooftop to farewell Bill. Robert, the boys and myself stayed close to Marjory giving her moral support.

Tony and Trent had travelled up from Folkstone and the channel tunnel project and Robert suggested that they stayed for a couple of days while we looked at reorganizing the management setup to cover the work Bill did.

Finally people began to drift away saying their goodbyes to Marjory, Robert and I until only residents of the building and people like Shirley were left. I asked everyone left to gather round and gave some instructions to the caterers. Everyone had a puzzled look on their faces wondering what was going on. The waiters brought glasses of champagne round and we even allowed the boys to have half a glass each. When everyone had a glass, Robert stood up.

"Ladies and gentlemen the only ones left are people who were close and very dear to Bill. I would briefly like to say that I knew Bill from the time I was a kid in short pants, he and my father started this company and through their hard work, it grew to what it is now. We will miss Bill dearly but not half as much as Marjory who has lost her lifetime mate. Please raise your glasses and drink a toast to a wonderful, kind caring man, to Bill.'

We all drank a toast before Robert continued.

"From this day the companies head office will always be known as the `Bill Taylor building' in his memory."

This came as quite a surprise to me because Robert had never mentioned anything like that.

Just before Marjory left she asked to talk to us and we moved down into the dining room a floor below.

"Thank you very much for your help and support I would never have got through the day without you two." Hugging her, we said,

"It was the least we could do for you Marjory."

"There is another problem, which is worrying me and I shouldn't be involving you in it but I don't know what to do."

"Whatever it is Marjory if we can help we will."

"Our family have never been close to Bill and I and our two boys and daughter left home as soon as they could, we tried to bring them up right but for some reason all three turned bad and have been in trouble with the law. They are demanding a share of Bill's will right now although everything comes to me and they have threatened that they will get three doctors to sign that I am insane and have me committed if I don't give them at least half."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing, how could anyone be so cruel, bearing in mind they had already threatened Marjory before Bill was even in the ground. Robert was livid I could see the anger rising as Marjory told her what was happening.

"They can't do this Marjory, leave it to us and we will get our lawyers onto it tomorrow. We were going to send you a cheque of monies which Bill was entitled to because as you may be aware we introduced a profit sharing scheme a few months back and he is entitled to a fair sum of money but it might be better if we will hold that back until this problem with your family is sorted. In the meantime if you need any cash just ask and we will forward some money to you."

"Thank you so much boys, Bill was right when he called you the salt of the earth."

"Will you be all right in your own home tonight Marjory? If not you can always stay here we have plenty of room."

"Thanks you for the offer but a couple of my neighbours are coming in to keep an eye on the place for me and keep me company."

We said out goodnights and a car was arranged to take her home, and we had a quite word with Steve arranging for a vehicle and two security guards to be outside her house all the time for now, until this business was settled.

Making our way towards our bedroom, holding hands as always, we called in to check on the boys. Serge and Miguel were curled up in bed spooning with Serge's arms around his lover, both sleeping peacefully. In Ferdy and David's room, it was pretty much the same except both boys were facing each other with arms around each other looking so happy and in love even while sleeping.

Silently we closed their door heading back to our own room. After undressing we began making out moving towards the bed but by the time we fell back onto the bed we were far too tired to make love and getting between the sheets fell asleep straight away.

Next morning after breakfast, Nathan called in and took the boys back to his place for the day. We thought because they were still traumatized over Bill's death that we would keep them home from school for the rest of the week.

We called everyone in for the management meeting straight after breakfast because we had a lot to get through and our lawyers were arriving later in the morning to discuss Marjory's problem with her children.

The main item to be discussed was Bills successor as General Manager. "He will be a tough act to follow, so we must remember that and not expect too much too soon from whomever we choose."

"I agree with Robert there, plus they have to be aware that they will have to work long and odd hours to keep the business running smoothly."

Shirley agreed with everything we said and suggested that maybe the job could be split into two with one person looking after new business and the other handling the day to day running.

We discussed several names finishing up with a short list of four people. Site manager John Jenkins who had been with us for about six years, Peter Dawson another manager with a fair amount of experience who had only been with us for about ten months and our two ex-apprentice's, Tony and Trent who as you may be aware were mentored by Bill since joining the company straight from school.

Paul our accountant then made a comment,

"If you promote Tony or Trent or even both of them this may cause problems and you could be accused of favouring gay people for the top jobs. I don't think they will but the Union might have something to say." I could see Robert's temper beginning to get the better of him and jumped in right away.

"That's true Paul, but if they look to be the right ones for the job then they should get it no matter what their sexual preferences are."

"That's right and I will fight the union or anyone else who decides we are wrong."

I grabbed Robert's hand squeezing it gently to calm him down.

Finally we decided that we would interview the four contenders for the job that afternoon, with Shirley and us two making up the interview panel.

The meeting closed and we had just got back to our office when reception informed us that our lawyers had arrived. Back in the conference room, I organised coffee and some snacks for our guests and us. Shaking hands with our visitors, we already knew Gary Perkins who had been working with us for quite a few years. Our dicks gave a bit of a twitch when he introduced us to his companion Shane Wilkinson, who was about six foot, slim build, jet-black hair, which highlighted his deep blue eyes and a smile which would melt anyone male or female. I put his age at about twenty-three.

"Shane as only recently joined the company after graduating with honours and we are proud to have him on board, and if you're thinking what I think you are thinking he won't mind me telling you that yes he is gay."

That last part shocked us because Gary is quite conservative about such things. We shook Shane's hand and got semi-hard when he smiled that sexy come to bed smile he had.

Gary brought us back to earth by suggesting that we get down to business.

We explained to them about Marjory's problem with her family and the threat to have her committed. Steve spoke first,

"They might find it difficult to get three doctors signatures, although there are some unscrupulous doctors out there who will sign anything if the price is right."

"I suggest that Shane and I go to see Marjory straight away and organize a court order protecting her form her family for the time being. This means that they cannot approach her or her property."

We both agreed to that right away suggesting that we go along to introduce them to Marjory.

Just as we stood up the phone rang. I answered it and it was the security outside Marjory's house telling us that her family had arrived in force and were trying to take her away dragging her towards their car.

"Stop them and don't let them take her away we'll be there with our lawyers in a matter of minutes."

I explained to the others what was happening before calling Steve and requesting back up. Robert said,

"We can't let these bastards get away with this. These evil pricks must be stopped at all costs, as we raced to go to poor Marjory's aid.

To be continued.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, which was a bit sad. Things will brighten up when the boys go to Disneyworld or will they?
