The Wounds Within My Heart

Part Seven

Thanksgiving

Chapter 15

David sat with Triston as he prepared to help him with making the art project. It was a Christmas decoration that they would be putting up in the living room. They had a couple of things he had made for Thanksgiving which were hanging by the front door inside the kitchen. One was a turkey, and the other was a cut-out that was painted to look like a piece of pumpkin pie.

Triston had made them back at the beginning of November, and everyone really loved how nice they looked. Now Triston, with David's help, had cut out a Christmas tree from green construction paper. It was just the shape itself, and now David was going to help him glue some red and green glitter on the front of it along with various colors of beads that gave the appearance of Christmas lights. The beads were red, green and white.

It was just David and Triston at the house since Nohea and Pietro went out for lunch. Pietro's parents would be coming by around 4:00 P.M. to pick him up to return home. Nohea and Pietro left about ten minutes ago, and David was glad to have this time with Triston to work on their project as well as to talk and see how he was doing.

The project was coming along really nice as Triston placed the last of the lights. The last thing that was needed was a star at the top. David helped him cut one from a small scrap of construction paper. They put green glitter on it, then glued it to the top of the tree.

"It looks really nice!" David said as Triston smiled down at it.

"I really love it!" Triston replied on his device.

"Me too!" David answered. "I think everyone else will love it too!"

"Good!" Triston responded.

After sitting it on the desk in David's office to dry, he returned to the kitchen. He and Triston cleaned up the table, and once completed, they both got Cokes and went into the living room. David sat down on the couch, and Triston joined him. Triston immediately snuggled up to him, and looked at David. David looked back at him, then they shared a long hug.

"I really enjoyed our time together," David said stroking Triston's hair back from his forehead.

Triston made one of his happy sounds, then rested his forehead against David's for a long moment before pulling back. He enjoyed the kind and loving look he always saw in his dad's eyes.

"I love you," David said then kissed his son on the cheek.

Triston made the "I Love You" hand gesture against the left side of David's chest, then kissed him on his cheek as they hugged again for a long moment. After separating, Triston grabbed his device and began writing.

"Best dad ever!" he typed.

"That really means everything to me, thanks," David said hugging him again. "You're the best son ever. I'm really glad you came into my life, and I'm also really glad that we have Nohea here with us now too!"

"So am I," Triston replied.

"You and him really connected fast," David went on. "That surprised me. I mean that in a good way of course. I'm glad that you love him as much as you do."

"He's a good older brother, and I really love him so much!" Triston said.

"That's good, and I know he loves you more than anything," David answered.

"I know he does too," Triston went on. "Sometimes I really wish he didn't always have to leave to go to school as much as he does, especially on days when I stay home from school myself."

Triston would sometimes have to stay home from school when he had Occupational Therapy, especially if the sessions ran over the hour-and-a-half time period. Usually though, if he stayed home from school, it was when he had difficulty regulating his emotions if he was having sensory over-load issues for the day. David or Aunt Beth would get his assignments from school, and that allowed him to stay caught up.

"Yeah, I can tell you really miss Nohea a lot when he's not here with you," David responded.

"Yeah, I really do," Triston answered. "He's always so nice to me, and he doesn't think I'm broken or bad for being Autistic."

"I know, and I'm glad he loves you while knowing that you're Autistic," David said. "You do know that I love you and haven't ever thought that you being Autistic is a problem or bad thing, right?"

"I know you don't think it's bad that I'm Autistic, but other people in the world do," Triston said. "I'm just glad that Nohea doesn't think who I am is bad. That's all I'm saying."

"Yeah, he really loves you deeply for who you are," David answered.

"I love him so much, and I don't have a problem with him being blind," Triston went on. "I also enjoy how much he and Pietro love each other. I hope I can find someone to love like that someday."

"I hope that for you too," David answered.

"Would you be alright if it was a boy that I loved like how Nohea loves Pietro?" Triston asked.

"I absolutely would," David answered hugging him. "I only want that the boy you love would treat you right. That's really all that matters to me."

"I'm really glad to hear you say that," he replied.

"So do you like girls romantically at all?" David asked.

"No, just as friends," Triston answered.

"Okay, thanks for telling me," David said stroking Triston's hair. "It sounds like you've known that you're gay for a while?"

"I've always figured I was," Triston replied. "I've just become more aware of it within the last few months. I just wanted to get more comfortable with it before I came out to you or Aunt Beth."

"I completely understand that," David answered. "I'm glad you felt comfortable to come out to me now. You'll always have my love, as well as my full support. I want you to know that."

"I do, and I really am glad about that," Triston said. "I know I can trust you."

"Good," David answered as they hugged again, then they heard the front door unlocking.

Pietro and Nohea came into the house wiping their shoes on the welcome mat. After closing then locking the door, Nohea came into the living room as David stopped and stood in the doorway.

"Welcome home," he said as he shared a hug with the two boys. They replied back to him as they all entered the living room where Triston was waiting for them. He hugged both of them, and was glad to have them back home once again.

"Did you guys have a nice lunch?" David asked.

"It was really good," Pietro answered.

"I liked it too," Nohea replied.

"I'm glad to hear that," David said.

Nohea

I had been enjoying my time with Pietro up at the cabin that weekend, and once we got back home Pietro and I went out for lunch. We both didn't want the time together to end just yet. It was almost 3:00 P.M. now, and we all had returned home from the cabin a little after 12:00 P.M. that day.

I sat down beside Triston on the couch, and Pietro joined us. Dad went into the kitchen to get a Coke for Pietro who asked for one. It was good to be home, and as I sat there, Triston waisted no time in hugging me again. I held him for a long moment, then he rested his forehead against mine for what seemed like forever then pulled back.

"I'm really glad to see you," I said.

He made a happy sound then rested his head against my shoulder as we continued to embrace. After another moment, he let go then reclined against the back of the couch as I snuggled into Pietro's arms. He kissed me on the cheek, then Dad was back with his Coke. Pietro took it and drank a couple of sips out of it.

"It's always nice to be getting Coked up on a Sunday," Pietro typed.

Triston laughed, and I was smiling.

"Great, teach my youngest son drug references," Dad said.

"He's doing the right thing," Triston typed laughing.

"That's your opinion," Dad answered smiling.

"Seriously though, I really had a wonderful time with you guys at the cabin," Pietro said. "I totally enjoyed all the things we did. I'm really hoping we can all do that again soon."

"I'm so glad you had a good time," Dad answered. "Absolutely, we'll definitely be doing that again soon. I would really love that too."

"I enjoyed myself too," I said. "It really was a lot of fun this weekend."

"That's really good to hear," Dad replied.

After Pietro finished his Coke, he and I excused ourselves to go to my room for a while. We wanted to cuddle on my bed for a little bit before his parents came to pick him up. Once we entered my room, I shut the door. Walking over to the bed, we lay down on it, and I snuggled into Pietro's embrace.

"I really love the time you and I spent together over the weekend, just between the two of us in our room," I said looking deep into his eyes. "I loved the sex we shared, the cuddling and the conversations we had."

Pietro moved onto his back then typed for a moment.

"I really loved it all too," he said. "It felt amazing to make love with you like we did. I loved holding you in my arms again, as well as falling asleep with you by my side. Talking and hanging out with you was totally fun as always. It was truly special, and I wish it didn't have to end."

"I feel the same way my love," I answered.

"I'll miss you," he said. "I mean, when I go home here in a bit."

"I'll miss you too babe," I responded.

He moved his device out of the way, and took me into his arms once again. We kissed deeply for a long moment, then I rested my head against his chest.

"I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving," I said. "I can't wait to see you again, as well as to share a really amazing meal with you and the rest of the family."

"I know, I'm really looking forward to that as well," Pietro typed. "It's going to really be a lot of fun!"

"Yeah, it definitely will be," I replied.

We kissed again, then I looked deeply into my soul mate's eyes. He looked back, and I could have stayed like that with him forever!

He eventually moved, then typed again.

"You truly are the love of my life Nohea," he said. "You complete me in every way. When we're together, I feel like our hearts are one, and that we're one with each other. I feel more connected with you than I can put into words. When you're by my side, I feel safe, loved, protected and truly cared for. I'm so in love with you that it's hard to explain it in words, and I never want anyone else but you to share my life.

The biggest thing for which I'm truly grateful this Thanksgiving is that you came back into my life. I'll always treasure that memory of when I saw you again."

"I'm really grateful for that as well!" I replied. "I'm grateful for that, as well as the friendship you and I have. Well, that and the relationship as boyfriends we also have. I love that, and I always will. I'm also truly grateful for my dad and brother. They, along with my Aunt Beth, are the best family I've ever known!"

"I'm really glad to hear you say that," he said as he stroked my hair. "You really are amazing!"

"So are you!" I answered.

We kissed once again, then just lay there looking into one another's eyes for a while. I enjoyed the silence as Pietro lay there holding me. I rested my head on his chest, and I could have easily fallen asleep like that. Eventually though, I heard a knock at the front door. Sitting up, I moved so I could get off the bed. Pietro stood up as well, and we went out into the kitchen.

Pietro's parents were standing in the entry way wiping off their shoes, and they were talking with Dad.

I greeted them, and so did Pietro. We then hugged both of them, and I thanked them for letting Pietro spend that weekend with us. They said they were glad to do it, and we all talked about how excited we were for that up-coming Thursday and the Thanksgiving gathering we were going to be sharing.

The days leading up to Thanksgiving seemed to fly by. I got work done for the assignments due over Monday and Tuesday. We had Wednesday off, as that was the start of Thanksgiving Break. I was really happy about that since I would be able to sleep in. Pietro and I had plans to meet that afternoon to hang out at my house since Dad and Triston would be out shopping for a couple of hours as well as watching a movie that Triston had been wanting to see. In short, it was a really good week at that point.

While Dad and Triston were out that Wednesday, Pietro and I lay on my bed cuddling. He was telling me how excited he was for our Thanksgiving dinner the next day at his house.

"I'm really looking forward to it as well," I replied. "I can't wait to enjoy the food, as well as spend more time with you. I'm also looking forward to spending time with your parents and sister. You have a really nice family."

"Thanks, I really love them," Pietro said. "They've been really supportive and loving towards me. They definitely care about you a lot too."

"I'm really glad to hear you say that," I responded. "I truly care about them equally."

"Well, here's something else I think you're going to really like," he said.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Well, we won't be spending tomorrow night together, but you know how we planned to spend this weekend together?" he asked.

"Yeah," I answered.

We had talked to my dad and Pietro's family Sunday when they came and got him a couple of days ago. We asked if I could come over to spend the weekend with him, and everyone agreed.

"Well, when you come over on Saturday," Pietro went on. "My family will be out for a couple of hours. We agreed that you'd be coming over around 3:00 P.M. Right?"

"Yeah, I remember that," I answered.

"Well, I wanted to let you know that I have something planned for us while they're out," Pietro said. "Of course, it's a surprise. I think you'll really like it. It's something I've been working on for a few days. I got the idea for it towards the end of the week before last, and I have been working on it throughout this past week. I mean, that I've been putting it together and planning for it, so now it's ready for when you come over on Saturday."

"Now I'm really curious," I said.

"I'm sure you are, but no hints," he said.

"Not even one?" I asked smiling.

"No, and another thing," he answered.

"What's that?" I asked.

"You have to promise to not tease me about rats for the rest of this week," he responded.

"Not even one joke about them?" I asked laughing.

"No, not even one," he replied. "If you do, I'll spend the time we have completely alone playing Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers and Miley Sirus albums non-stop," Pietro said as he laughed. "I'll even put on the Twilight Movies and you'll have to watch all of them. Oh yeah, and on Sunday I'll even put on an eight-hour block of all of the House Wive's shows."

"Okay!" I said in mock fear. "I won't make fun of your rat fear for the rest of this week."

"Starting when?" he asked smiling and putting his forehead on mine.

"Starting now," I said smiling back.

"Good," he responded.

At that point, I pressed my lips to his, and we enjoyed a deep and long kiss. We kissed several more times, then I broke the kiss. I helped Pietro onto his stomach then he removed his shirt. He knew what I wanted to do so I got started on massaging his shoulders.

"Your shoulders are really tense," I said as I began pressing and working my fingers over his shoulders then down his back. "I can imagine that it was a busy past couple of days for you."

Pietro made a sound of agreement as I continued massaging his back and feeling the tension leaving his muscles. It was silent in the room now, save for our soft and slow breathing. Pietro's muscles were looser now, and I lay back down, but continued to gently rub his back up and down slowly, which was getting him even more relaxed. He would soon be asleep if I kept it up.

I stopped long enough to remove my own shirt, and Pietro turned so he could take me in his arms. It felt good to be in his warm embrace, as well as to feel his warm stomach and chest against mine. His hand rubbed my own back up and down slowly, similar to what I had been doing to him a moment ago.

"Thanks," I said softly as I rested my head against his chest.

He nodded his head, and I continued to lay there enjoying just being there with him like that. He really knew how to make me feel loved, and I knew from some of the sounds he made how much he enjoyed the massage I gave him just moments before.

Soon we got up and put back on our shirts. We were just in our pants and shirts which made the two of us feel relaxed. I was sitting at my desk at this point with Pietro sitting beside me while we watched a couple of videos on YouTube. They were ones about some of the different music groups we liked. It was really fun being there with him as we watched together.

Soon it was time for Pietro to return home. Dad and Triston were back a little while later, and at that point, Pietro got a text from his parents that they were on their way to pick him up. He and I cuddled on the couch, and soon they were at the front door. Pietro and I hugged then kissed goodbye, with the promise that we would see each other tomorrow. I said goodbye to his parents and sister too, then they were driving back to their house. After closing then locking the door, I smiled. I was glad that Pietro and I would be together again tomorrow. I was also really happy that our families would be together for the day as well!

Author's Notes

This ended up being a sort of lead-up to Thanksgiving for the boys, but I wanted to include some stuff here pertaining to the holiday. I hope you all enjoyed the time they all spent together, as well as the scenes between David and Triston in the beginning of the chapter. In the next chapter, you'll get to read about their actual Thanksgiving Day. I hope you all like it. As for the surprise referenced in this chapter, you're all going to have to wait, but I think you'll really enjoy what Pietro has in store for Nohea. That will come in Chapter 17, the one after the up-coming chapter.

All that being said, I hope you're all doing well, and having a good evening. I hope everyone has a really nice Thanksgiving tomorrow for those who celebrate it. I'll see you in Chapter 16.
