Chapter 103

Lucas and Josh walked into the kitchen, both hit with the warm aromas of breakfast.

Colton stood at the kitchen stove, fry pans and pots covering it.

He smiled widely as Lucas and Josh both kissed his cheek, Lucas' arm going around him, Josh heading towards the filled coffeepot.

"Morning, Colt. Something smells divine!" Lucas smiled, Colton beaming at him.

"I wanted to earn my keep. Everything's almost ready." he said, his blue eyes staring at Lucas' softly bruised eye.

"Just a minor accident, I'll live." Lucas said, the young man smiling at him.

"Josh getting too rough, Luke?"

Lucas laughed, smiling at his man, Josh smiling at him as he filled two coffee cups.

"He's a wild stallion to ride. He bucks like crazy."

Colton laughed, Josh blushing but smiling.

"Our friend here fell down the stairs after he put you to bed. The man never turns any lights on." Josh said, Lucas smiling at him, walking up to him, his arms going around him, Josh handing him a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

"Thanks, babe. And my vision is usually exemplary." Lucas said, the young man releasing his man, heading to the table, filling his coffee with cream and sugar after he sat down, Josh joining him.

"Need help, Colt?" Lucas smiled, the young man smiling back at him.

"No, Luke. Just finishing off the bacon. The sausages and flapjacks are already warming in the oven. Plus some scones." Colton said, Josh looking with surprise at Lucas, then back at Colton.

"I worked in my grandmother's diner often." the young man smiled, Lucas smiling back at him.

"He'll give you a run in the kitchen, babe." Josh smiled, Lucas smiling back at him.

"He's welcome to it. I'm tired of feeding all the moochers."

"Now you know you love doing that, Lukey!"

Lucas smiled towards the kitchen doorway; Skyler, Trish and Andrew walking through it, Skyler having spoken.

"That I do. Freeloaders et al." Lucas said, the two women kissing Colton's cheek, the young man smiling, Andrew patting his shoulder.

"Smart move, Colt. Best way to Justin's heart is through his stomach. Makes him slow too." Andrew laughed, Colton blushing.

"Then Lance should have no problem." he softly said, the three new guests smiling at him, walking over to the table, Andrew picking up the coffeepot on the way, everyone hugging Josh and Lucas, sitting down at the table, all three sets of eyes staring at Lucas' bruised eye.

"A little accident, it's healing." he said, Trish's eyes going to Josh.

"Wonderboy here fell down the stairs early this morning walking around in the dark." he said, Lucas softly smiling at him.

"My man was playing hide-and-seek. Bastard took forever to catch!"

Everyone laughed, Josh blushing, Lucas kissing his cheek.

"Nah, I just had a small case of the wanderings. Paths needed walking." he softly said, looking at his coffee mug.

Josh looked at him, that gaze interrupted by the phone ringing, Lucas rising up and answering it off the counter.

Everyone filled their coffee mugs, Lucas talking for a few moments and then hanging up the phone.

"The guys are on the way over. Justin called from his vehicle. They'll be here in five." he said, returning to his seat, Josh's arm going around him.

Colton smiled at the stove, Lucas smiling towards him.

"Double up on the toast, Colt. These men here eat like pigs." Lucas smiled, sipping at his coffee, everyone smiling at him.

Josh laughed, kissing Lucas' cheek, the young man quietly thinking.

A few minutes later the phone rang, Colton answering it this time as he shut off the stove.

He hit a button, smiling at everyone.

"The guys are here. I'll let them in." he said, smiling and walking out of the kitchen, his gait filled with happiness.

Trish smiled at her brother, Lucas smiling back at her.

"He seems happy." she said, Lucas nodding his head.

"He's settled in. The emotions are still there but he's opening up more." Lucas said, Trish smiling at him.

"All thanks to you, babe. He's really connected with you." Josh said, Lucas smiling at him.

"He's family now. I'll always be here in every way for family."

Skyler smiled, her eyes going to the doorway, Colton walking through the door, his face showing worried concern.

Lance and Justin walked through next with identical looks; followed by Finn, Harry and Alain following the Welshman.

Skyler was out of her seat in a flash, her arms going around her man.

"Oh God, baby! What's happened to you? Who did this?" she said, everyone rising from the table, Lucas' violet eyes staring at his friend's handsome face.
A face that now was bruised and swollen.

"I got in a scrap with someone, Sky. I'd rather not talk about it." Finn said, Lucas walking up to his friends, the others following.

Skyler's blue eyes were on Justin.

"What kind of a party did you have last night, Justin? Who did this to my man? I'll tear him a new one!" she said, worry and protective anger showing on her face, Finn's arm going around her.

"I did it to myself, babe. I tried to rectify something and it backfired in my face. But he didn't win." Finn said, his blue eyes looking at Lucas, the young man's hand going to his shoulder.

"What happened, Jus?" Josh said, his arm around Lucas now.

"Damned if I know, Joshy. Finn came back to my place like this." Justin said, looking at the Welshman.

"Back to your place? He went there for the after party with Harry and Alain after we left." Josh said, looking at Harry and his boyfriend.

"That he did, Josh. We all went to Justin's after party. There were about twenty five-people there. Finn left after about an hour stated he needed some fresh air before bed. That he was going for a walk." Alain said, looking at the Welshman as well.

"He went for more that a walk. He took my car." Lance said, Skyler looking at her man.

"You went driving after drinking, babe?"

Finn blushed, looking at his girlfriend.

"I had something to get off my mind. I had to rectify something. Let's leave it at that." he said, his voice edged with reluctance.

His blue eyes met Lucas' violet, Lucas' hand still on his shoulder, rubbing it.

"I love your protective love, Finnegan. But you didn't have to fight my battles." Lucas said, his violet eyes showing soft tears.

Everyone's eyes looked between the two men, Josh's arm tightening around Lucas, staring at Finn.

"You went after Addison again?" he said, Skyler's eyes widening in surprise, staring at her man.

"Oh, Finny! You didn't? What have you done, sweetie?" she said, kissing her man's cheek.

"I found out where he was living, thanks to Adam at Justin's place. He'd talked to Bruno a couple of days ago and he'd told him. He's living in a rich condo in West Hollywood. I went there to give him an ultimatum. To get him to leave."
"You meant to threaten him again, or worse. You got in a fight with him, didn't you?" Skyler said, her finger gently touching Finn's bruised right eye.

"Yes, we fought. He's a tough little bastard, but I'm stronger. I gave him my ultimatum. I told him to get lost. I hope he's listened." Finn said, Lucas staring at him with quiet love.

"You left him after that, Finn?" Lucas said, Josh looking at Lucas.

"Yeah, he was worse looking that me, I'll tell you that. Little bastard came at me with a baseball bat." Finn said, Lucas' eyes lowering, Finn's hand going to his shoulder.

"He ambushed you before with one, Luke. Me, I saw this one coming. I disarmed him soon enough."

Lucas slowly nodded, his violet pools looking at Finn.

"Lucas. . .what happened to your face?" Finn said, Lucas sighing, Justin and Lance looking at him closer now, Harry and Alain seeing the young man's bruised eye.

"Take him upstairs and clean his face, Sky. We'll wait on breakfast. And then I need to tell all of you something." Lucas said, the young man removing his hand from Finn's shoulder, his friend staring at him.

Lucas moved, walking across the kitchen, opening the patio door, walking out and closing the glass door behind him.

Everyone stared after him, Finn's eyes going to Josh's blue.

"Is he okay, Josh?" he said, Josh looking at him and then at Skyler.

"Go get cleaned up, Finn. He'll tell us soon enough, I believe." Colton said, everyone looking at the young man, Colton lowering his blue eyes, going back to the stove, readying breakfast from the counter and from the warming oven.

Everyone exchanged looks, Skyler and Finn walking out of the room.

Josh stared at Colton, the young man's eyes meeting his.

"Everything's ready, Josh. I'll serve it when Finn and Skyler return." he said, excusing himself, the young man walking over to the patio door, walking out of the house in search of Lucas.

Lucas looked up, staring into two blue eyes.

Colton stood beside him, Lucas seated on the pool's edge, his feet dangling in the water.

Lucas wore a t-shirt and shorts, his bare feet submerged

"The water's soothing and warm." he said, Colton sitting down beside him, slipping off his sandals, his feet going into the water as well.

"You okay, Luke? I've sensed something in you this morning." the young man said, his blue eyes meeting Lucas' violet.

Lucas' arm moved, going around the young man, Colton sinking into his body.

"Can't hide anything from you, can I?"

Colton smiled, kissing Lucas' cheek.

"Our magic wanders, Luke. Through each other's hearts, I believe."

Lucas smiled, Colton smiling back.

Lucas' eyes went to the pool's blue water, the young man sighing.

"I've made an error, Colt. I didn't sense the true path he was on."
"What path who was on? Finn?"

"No, not my friend Finn. His path was always to my heart. It was just clouded with his own protective love. And his own self redemption."

Colton nodded, not sure of what Lucas was talking of.

"Something's happened, Lucas. I sense a deep worry in your soul. Not a fearful worry, but worry nonetheless."
"Yes I am worried, Colt. But that worry now comes with a greater sense of relief."

"That Finn didn't greatly hurt that man? Who is he anyway? I saw last night Finn wasn't too happy with him."

Lucas' violet pools met Colton's.

"I saw Finn hit him at the party. Then I saw him avoiding all of you all night." Colton said, Lucas sighing again.

"Jacob Addison was my first boyfriend, Colt. He was abusive, hurtful and a lying cheat. Finn's, Sky's and Trish's protective love saved me from him before he destroyed me. He physically abused me, that ending with me in the hospital." Lucas said, Colton's arm going around his friend.

"I'm sorry, Luke. I didn't know about that."
"I know you didn't, Colton. My past is just that. My past. It's the present and the hopeful future that I'm focused on."

"You have a courageous soul, Luke. It must have been very emotional for you back then."

"It was, Colt. But my friends' love--and now more importantly Josh's love--has healed me. My heart's whole again. I have their love and yours. The future will be better. Once the present rectifies itself." Lucas said, the young man pulling his feet out of the water.

He dried both feet off with a towel he'd picked up off a poolside table, handing it to Colton, the young man drying his feet as well.

Both men stood up, slipping their feet back into their sandals, Colton's hand going to his friend's shoulder.

"I feel a hidden evil, Lucas. Something's coming." he said, Lucas pulling the young man into his arms.

"Life is coming, Colt. And truth as well. I'll always stand for that."
"I'm here for you as well, Luke."

Lucas smiled, nodding his head.

"I know, Colt. And that's a greater happiness for me than you'll ever know."
The young man smiled, Lucas looking towards the house.

"Let's go in, my friend. The past is about to catch up with all of us."

The two walked towards the house, Colton quietly staring at the young man whose arm was around him.

Everyone sat around the large table, quietly finishing their breakfast.

Colton had smiled at everyone's compliments, the young man smiling with wide happiness.

But his blue eyes constantly went to Lucas' violet pools, the young man quietly eating breakfast.

The talk was quiet, Finn retelling his story to everyone, Lucas quietly listening.

Alain walked around the table, refilling everyone's coffee mugs, the black man sitting back down beside his soulmate, Harry's blue eyes on Lucas and on Finn.

"You should have told me you were going to do that, Finn. I would have accompanied you. You wouldn't have been surprised by Addison's weapon. I'd have had your back. And you wouldn't have driven under the influence." Harry said, Finn softly smiling at the bodyguard.

"Thanks for saying that, Harry. I feel your protective love." the Welshman said, his blue eyes looking at Lance.

"I'm sorry for taking your car, Lance. I didn't think about the consequences of my actions. I was just focused on one thing."

"On protecting me." Lucas said, the Welshman staring at his friend.

"I love you, Lucas. I'll always protect those I love." Finn said, everyone hearing his love in his emotional words.

"I know, Finny. But you don't realize what you walked into."

"What I walked into? I walked into that man's arrogance. I won't let him hurt you, Lucas. Or any of us."

The young man sighed, Finn staring at his friend.

"Jacob Addison won't hurt anyone ever again, Finny." Lucas said, the young man's violet pools looking around the table, everyone staring at him.

"My past--and yours, Finny--is about to come full circle." Lucas said, Finn staring at him with confusion.

"What do you mean, babe?" Josh said, his arm going around Lucas, the young man sighing again, his eyes lowering, everyone staring at him.

Lucas' eyes raised, Josh seeing soft tears in his violet pools.

Those violet pools moved, staring into Finn's blue irises.

"Jake is dead, Finn."

The room went dead with silence, everyone staring at Lucas in shock, their eyes then focusing on Finn's surprised stunned face.

"What. . .what do you. . .how do you know that?" Finn stuttered, staring at his young friend.

Lucas' violet pools went around the table, stopping again on Finn's handsome bruised face.

"My love and my magic is singular in its protective soul, Finnegan. I sensed last night after everyone retired your wandering protective soul. I felt the anger and love focusing again. I felt where that anger would lead you."
Colton's blue eyes met Lucas' violet.

"You left here after you put me to bed, didn't you?" he said, Josh staring with surprise at his soulmate, seeing the bruised eye.

"You didn't fall down any stairs, did you? Jake. . .Jake did that to you!" Josh said, his arm pulling his man closer to him.

"No, Josh. Jake didn't do this. And you're correct. I didn't fall down the stairs. I'm sorry for fabricating that story. I just needed time to think on what's happened here. To get my bearings on what I've done."
"What you've done, Luke?" Finn said, staring at his friend with concern.

"I have had a vision everyone. Actually, I had it quite a while ago."

Everyone stared at Lucas with surprise, Finn's blue eyes focused on Lucas' violet.

"You knew I'd go back to him? That I'd fight him again?"

"I've always known you'd always protect me, Finn. But I envisioned something else. You walked your own path, a path that collided with Jake's. Last night I felt the danger you were in. And I left here hoping to curtail your anger. I'm sorry that I was too late."

Finn stared at his friend, Lucas' eyes showing soft tears.

"You went to Jake's place, didn't you?" Josh said, Lucas nodding his head.

"I was scared for your safety, Finn." Lucas said, his friend staring at him.

"Because of what you saw in that vision?" Alain said, Lucas' violet pools staring at the black man, nodding his head.

"I had that vision on the day Adam and Jake met here with us. The day I uncovered Adam's own lost past."
"The day of Jake's challenge of your music." Justin said, Lucas nodding.

"Yes, Jus. It happened when I threw him in the pool."

Everyone stared at the young man, Colton's hand going on top his friend's on the table.

"You were staring out at the pool this morning while we talked. What did you see?" Colton said, Lucas' eyes meeting his blue, a soft glow showing deep in them.

"I saw the future, Colt." Lucas said, everyone staring at him.

"I saw Jake in a different pool, everyone. And that's where I found him last night. He was floating dead in the middle of his condo's pool."

Finn looked stunned, all eyes wide with shock, staring at Lucas.

Their shocked wonder was interrupted by the phone ringing again.

Harry stood up, answering it, everyone staring at Lucas.

"You mean he's really dead? He drowned?" Andrew said with shocked surprise.

"He's dead, Drew. But he didn't drown. There was blood on the back of his head, a lot of blood."

Both of Josh's arms went around his Lucky, Lucas feeling his protective love.

"He could have fallen and hit his head on the pool's edge, Lucas." Lance said, Lucas' violet pools meeting his green.

"No, Lance. Jake was hit with that baseball bat, as was I."

Everyone stared at Lucas' blackened eye, Josh's finger gently going to it.

"Who. . .who hit you, babe?"

"I don't know Josh." Lucas said.

Harry closed off the phone, staring at Lucas.

"The police are here, Lucas." Harry said, Lucas nodding.

"I know, Har." he said, everyone looking surprised.

"I called the police last night after I left the house. I informed them of Jake's death, then informing them of my own involvement. I gave them my information so they could talk to me this morning."

"You walked away from a crime scene?" Justin said, Lucas staring at his friend, his violet pools then going to Finn's blue.

"I had to make sure you were all right first, Finn. That you weren't involved in last night's tragic ending." Lucas said, his eyes showing tears again.

Finn stared at Lucas, seeing his love shining in his violet pools.

"You thought that I. . .?"

"That your anger would finally get the best of you?" Lucas said, Finn slowly nodding, his eyes showing soft tears as well.

"No, Finn. I would never believe that you would do such a thing. I just had to stop you, Finn. When I got to the condo and realized it was too late and that Jake was dead, I was just glad that you weren't dead as well. And I knew it couldn't have been you. My attack after that cemented in my heart the truth. That your love is all protective but it isn't dangerous."
"I love you, Lucas. But I could never do that."
"I know, Finny."

"You said your attack, Lucas. What happened to you?" Josh said, Lucas sighing, looking around at everyone.

He quickly told them all of his attack after he'd found Jake, and the disappearing figure who'd hit him with the baseball bat.

"I'm glad you're okay, Lucas. You didn't see who it was?" Finn said, Lucas shaking his head no.

"No, Finn. I didn't see that person."
The front door buzzer went off, Harry looking at Lucas.

"Let them in, Har. I'm ready for all they wish to discuss." Lucas said, his violet pools looking at Josh.

"We both need to tell them the truth, Finn." Lucas said, Finn nodding.

"Why would anyone want to. . .to kill Jake? I hated him, but I didn't want him dead." Finn said, Lucas nodding.

"Jake's soul was filled with want and need, Finn. A man's choices in life always lead him to destiny." Lucas said, the young man getting up from his seat.

Josh rose as well, all the others rising, staring at Lucas.

"I feel all your love, everyone. Come on Finn, let's open up the truth."

Finn nodded, the young Welshman following Lucas out of the kitchen, Lucas' arm around him.

The older detective stared at the two young singers, Finn and Lucas both seated together on one of Josh's leather couches, their friends surrounding them.

Across from the two young men sat an older distinguished looking detective, a younger man seated beside him.

The older of the two was in his mid fifties, the younger around thirty years of age.

Harry had walked the two men into the living room, the two policemen introducing themselves.

The older one was named Charles Cameron, the younger Raymond Harris, both police detectives.

A uniformed police officer was with them, that man standing behind the detectives' couch, his eyes glancing around at all the famous celebrities surrounding him.

A cell phone was on the coffee table between the four men, the younger detective requesting that their conversations be recorded.

The four men had sat down after Lucas had introduced everyone surrounding them.

Lucas had had Finn relate his story first, Lucas then telling the two detectives his part of the story.

He informed them of his appearance at Jake's condo last night after Finn's departure and his discovery of Jake's floating corpse.

As well as the attack on himself and his calling the police himself an hour later.

"An interesting tale, Mr. Carver." the younger detective said, staring at Lucas, the older detective glancing at his associate.

"So you didn't see the assailant who attacked you, Lucas?" Detective Cameron said, Lucas shaking his head no.

"No sir. When I came back up from the bottom of the pool all I heard was a door slamming and no one around."

"How convenient." Detective Harris said, the older detective staring at his partner.

"We're dusting the place for prints, Lucas. It is officially now a crime scene. And we do have witnesses that saw you leaving the premises, Finn. Around three o'clock." Detective Cameron said, Finn nodding.

"Yes, I'm sure it was that late." Finn said, Skyler looking at her fiancé.

"Are you sure Addison wasn't dead when you left, Mr. Delaney?" Detective Harris said, staring at Finn directly.

"He was lying on the living room floor, holding his bruised face in his hands. He was very much alive when I left." Finn said, his gaze showing a determined look at the young detective.

"Just collecting the facts, Mr. Delaney. Why did you and Mr. Addison fight?" the young man said, Finn's eyes going to Lucas'.

"Tell him everything, Finn." Lucas said, Finn staring at the two detectives.

Finn informed them of his fight earlier last night with Jake at the party, and Jake's destructive past with Lucas.

Charles looked at Lucas, the young man quietly staring at him.

"You have a lot of courage for living through that, Lucas." he said, the younger man staring at Lucas.

"You're gay? Jake Addison was your spurned lover?" he said, Lucas staring at him.

"He wasn't spurned, Detective Harris. He abused me and left me for dead. The London police can verify those facts. That was almost two years ago. I hadn't seen him until a few months ago. And only a couple of times since then. He's been slinking around following me."

"Following you? You mean he was stalking you? You're not that big of a celebrity." Detective Harris said, staring at the young singer, his eyes then going to Justin's handsome face.

"Jacob Addison was nothing if not resourceful. If you check into his past you'll find a path of less than glowing moments. He was trying to undermine my life, gentlemen." Lucas said, Finn staring at his friend.

"A valid reason for ending his." Detective Harris said, Lucas' violet pools meeting his blue.

"I'm a loving, giving man, Detective Harris. I wouldn't hurt anyone."

Everyone smiled at their friend, the young detective staring at him.

"Extortion is a good reason for murder, Mr. Carver."
Detective Cameron sighed, staring at his partner.

"Let's focus on the facts, Ray." the older man said, the younger lowering his eyes .

The older man focused on Finn again.

"So when you left him, Jacob Addison was still alive?"
"Yes, sir. Bruised, but alive. I gave him an ultimatum to stay away from Lucas."

"It's always good to have a protective friend who loves you, Lucas." the older man said, Lucas smiling at Finn.
"He's my best friend, and my brother." Lucas said, Finn smiling at him.

Detective Cameron smiled at the two, his eyes on Finn.

"You should have stayed away from him, young man. From your stories that young man was greedy and vindictive."
"He was an asshole, sir." Finn said, Lucas sighing beside his friend.

"That won't help, Finn."

Finn blushed, lowering his eyes.

"We'll need both of you to come down to the precinct for fingerprints and blood samples. We want to verify the evidence at the crime scene."
Lucas nodded, looking at Finn.
"We both want to cooperate fully, Detective Cameron. We have nothing to hide."

"That good to hear, Lucas." the man said, Justin looking at the older detective.

"How did Jake die, sir?"

"He was bludgeoned from behind, Mr. Timberlake. By a hard object. His skull was crushed." the younger detective said, staring at Justin, his eyes showing a soft look of idolizing worship hidden behind the policeman's resolve.

Lucas quietly stared at the man, Harris' eyes meeting his violet.

Lucas saw another look embedded there.

"The baseball bat? I saw blood on it." Lucas softly said, the older detective staring at his partner again, then looking at Lucas.

"Perhaps, Lucas. We'll let the forensics department sort all that out." the older detective said, closing a notepad he'd held in his hand throughout the interview, writing in it occasionally, the older man smiling at Lucas whose eyes were on the pad.

"New technology can't hold a candle to old ways." he smiled, Lucas smiling at him, the detective standing up, Detective Harris rising as well.

"If you'll come with us, please." the young detective said, nodding towards the uniformed officer as he stared at Finn and Lucas.

"That won't be necessary, Ray. You can both come down to the precinct any time this afternoon to sign your final statements and do the fingerprinting and blood tests, gentlemen. We're both there all day." The older man said, handing Lucas a card.

"But, Chuck!" Detective Harris said, staring at his partner.

"You and Officer Morrison wait outside, Ray." he said, the younger man lowering his eyes, he and the uniformed cop walking out of the living room.

The older detective smiled at Finn and Lucas.

"Forgive my partner, gentlemen. He's a good man but he sometimes gets a little gung ho. He lives for high profile cases. He loves the world of fame. Myself, I collect facts and judge all fairly by their own selves, not their celebrity status." the man said, a soft smile showing on his face.

"A good attitude to have, Detective Cameron." Lucas said, smiling at the man.

"Take your time, gentlemen. I'll see you this afternoon."

Lucas nodded, Harry showing the detective out of the room to the front door where his partner and the other cop waited.

Josh's arms went around Lucas' waist, Skyler's around her man's.

"That young man was sniffing for blood. He was intense." Justin said, Lance's arms going around his man.

"And he was undressing you with his eyes, babe." Lance said, Justin smiling at him.

"I felt so naked." he said, Colton smiling at him.

"I wish." the young man said, covering his mouth immediately.

Lucas laughed, Colton blushing, Justin smiling at the young man, his blue eyes focusing on Lucas again.

"What's going to happen, Lucas? We all know you and Finn had nothing to do with Jake's tragic death." Justin said, Finn smiling at his friend.

"We'll be open and truthful, Jus. That all we can be. Right Finny?" Lucas said, Finn staring into Lucas' violet pools.

"Yes, Luke. We'll just be ourselves."
Lucas smiled, Josh smiling at him.

No one sensed the facade showing on Lucas' face.

For his soul was sensing something else.

Colton's blue eyes remained focused on Lucas' calm face.

His own soul walking the same path.

Josh stared at his man, Lucas pulling onto their street, cruising towards their home.

Finn and Skyler sat in the SUV behind them, the car rather quiet.

"That was an ordeal. I felt I was being watched." Finn said, Skyler's arm going around him.

The four had driven down to the Los Angeles police headquarters, the two young men meeting Detective Cameron again.

They'd been interviewed again, both men signing final statements.

Fingerprints had been taken as well as blood samples, both men cooperating fully with the police.

The older detective smiled often at both men, Lucas sensing the man was a professional to the core.

He seemed well at ease, not like the younger man who'd been at the house.

Detective Harris wasn't around them, the older detective stating he'd left on other duties.

But the two singers saw a lot of staring eyes on them, their fame and handsome looks drawing watching eyes.

"It's over, Finn. That's what matters." Josh said, looking at Lucas, his man smiling at him.

"I don't think it's over, babe. Just look ahead of us." Lucas said, the young man slowing their vehicle.

Everyone gazed forward, their eyes widening with surprise.

Several vans and camera trucks were lined up on both sides of the street passing in front of Josh's home, the four seeing people mulling about in front of the double gates that closed off Josh's property.

"Looks like the press has caught wind of our involvement." Lucas said, the young man slowing the vehicle more, Josh looking at him, their hands squeezing together, the two having been holding hands.

Lucas' released Josh's hold, smiling softly at him.

"Into the face of stardom we go." he softly said, his eyes focusing ahead, Josh nodding.

Josh pulled his cell phone out of his pocket, calling the house.

He talked for a few seconds, then closed off the call.

"Just keep calm everyone. Keep focused. Justin has manned the gate with security, they're waiting for us." Josh said, Lucas nodding again, driving forward.

Within moments their vehicle was spotted by the surrounding press, Lucas just reaching the laneway to the gates when the car instantly became surrounded by flashing cameras and reporters holding microphones.

Their windows were all closed, Finn's arm going around his soulmate, Skyler looking out into the flashing cameras.

Everyone was thankful for the tinted windows on Josh's SUV.

Reporters were screaming at their vehicle, Lucas staring forward, slowly driving the vehicle off the main street onto the short paved lane into Josh's home, the iron gates ahead of them.

The gates were slowly opening, Lucas seeing four men walking forward through them, Lucas seeing their large size and calm, serious faces.

The reporters on the front sides of the SUV saw them as well, slowly backing away from the vehicle, Lucas slinking forward, the four uniformed guards moving onto both sides of the vehicles, pushing the reporters back, Lucas slowly passing through the gates, the four guards now at the back of the vehicles, a line of reporters between them and the vehicle.

One of the guards motioned to Lucas in his rear view mirror, Lucas hitting the gas pedal and picking up speed, driving up the circular driveway in front of Josh's home.

Finn looked behind them, seeing the four guards walking back onto the grounds, the gates closing in front of them.

"Damn, that was intense! They all looked so focused." he said, Lucas stopping the car in front of Josh's front door.

"Welcome to fame, guys. You've just seen the intense side of it. The news must be out." Josh said, climbing out of the vehicle as Lucas turned off the engine.

He and the others climbed out, Lucas' violet pools going to the front gates, seeing cameras focused on them, their wide lenses zooming in.

Lucas sighed, walking around the vehicle, four guards walking up to them, the lead man smiling at Lucas and the others.

"They'll stay out. This is private property. Your property, Mr. Chasez." the man said, Josh nodding at him.

"My name's Clive. This is Mario, Simon and Karl. Mr. Timberlake's called us in for security." the large man said, Josh staring into his steely blue eyes.

"I'm Josh, guys. This is Lucas, Finn and Skyler, three quarters of Orion. They're my guests here."
The man smiled, nodding at all three, the four men now encircling them, the group hidden from the focusing paparazzi.

"You guys head into your home. We'll patrol the area and make sure they all stay out." Clive smiled, the man nodding at the other three, Josh and his friends walking to the front door, the four men heading back towards the front gates.

The four walked into Josh's home, Justin and Lance meeting them at the front door.

"Welcome to the celebrity world, guys. You're all over the news, Finn and Lucas." Justin said, his face showing a look of protective love, the man hugging all three, then Josh.

The four were then hugged by Lance, Justin's arm going around Lucas.

"Colton and Trish almost have dinner ready. Let's go out onto the patio." he said, the man guiding Lucas with him, Josh following with Lance's arm around him.

They all walked out onto the patio, the four surprised by the showing faces.

Piney stood up, his arms going around Lucas as Justin broke his hold.

"Glad to see you're both okay." he smiled, the man then hugging Finn with friendship, Chris doing the same to both, Lucas smiling at him.

"Your past is over, Luke. Let it now rest in peace." Chris said, Lucas nodding.

"The past never ends, Chris. It's always in our memories. But love's future keeps us going." he said, everyone smiling at the young man as Josh's arm went around him.

"Our future's going to be amazing, babe." he said, Lucas quietly staring at him.

"Are you okay, Lucky?" Josh asked, Lucas sighing, the young man sitting down at the patio table.

Everyone stared at the young man, Josh joining him at the table, everyone sitting down around them.

Finn's blue eyes were on Lucas.

"You're worried about something, aren't you, Luke?" he said, Lucas' violet pools meeting his friend's blue.

"I have one of my feelings again, Finny."

"Your magic is sensing something?" Finn said, Skyler looking at her man then at Lucas.

"I just have a sense that something's not right." he said, Josh's arm going around his man.

Their eyes met, Josh leaning forward and kissing Lucas on the lips.

"What do you sense, my love?"
Lucas sighed again, his violet pools going to the patio doorway; Trish, Andrew and Colton walking out of the house.

"Dinner will be ready soon. The roast is almost ready." Trish smiled, Lucas smiling at his sister.

"I'm not that hungry, Patricia." Lucas said, Trish looking at Josh.

Josh's blue eyes were on Lucas, their hands going together.
"With all that's happened, you haven't talked much about Jake, Lucas."

Lucas' eyes lowered, Josh staring at him.

The young man's eyes raised, everyone seeing a soft wetness shining there.

"I never wanted him dead, Josh. He hurt me so much but I never wanted him to die. All I wanted was to be free of the pain."

Josh moved, wrapping both arms around his Lucas, everyone staring at the young man with tearful eyes.

"When I saw him floating in that pool I felt sorry for him, Josh. I felt sorry for the life he chose. For the love he never sought out. I tried to love him and he couldn't accept that.  He never let love into his heart. He sought out the other side of life--lust, greed and hurt. I'm sorry that he chose that. Is that strange? Is it strange that I feel sorry for him?"

Justin's hand went to Lucas' shoulder, Lucas sitting between him and Josh.

"It's not strange when all of us have felt your loving soul, Lucas. We all know the beauty of your giving love. Jake couldn't see what he once had, Lucas. He had your love and he couldn't see the beauty of what he had. He chose his path as you said. His life is over. We all know you never wanted that ending for him. Your giving heart shows your love."

Lucas nodded, his tearful eyes staring at Justin.

"I loved him once, Jus. He at one time was my world. I at that time didn't realize how false that world was. That his love wasn't real. But now when I see the end he's come to, the path he's walked, I just feel so guilty."

Josh's arms pulled him closer.

"You have nothing to feel guilty for, Lucas. You loved him and he couldn't see that. Justin's right, Lucky. You gave your love in every way. I know how real that love is. His life is over, yours isn't. You have a path of love to walk. My love. Our love." Josh said, Lucas wiping his wet eyes.

"I wish I could have just talked to him, Joshua. I wish I could have made him see the path he was on. I had the chance to make him see. I should have tried!" Lucas said, his eyes tearing again.

"You magic and love are beautiful, Lucas. You can't save everyone." Lance said, Lucas looking at his friend.

"I know I can't, Lance. But I won't ever stop trying. Even he deserved that chance." Lucas said, the young man rising from his seat, Josh and Justin rising as well, everyone rising up after them.

The young man walked over towards the pool, Josh following him, Justin and Lance putting their arms around each other and following.

Everyone followed them, Lucas stopping at the pool's edge, staring out into the blue water.

Josh stood behind him, his arms going around him.

"The waters of my life, my love. The tears of my existence." Lucas softly said, Josh kissing his neck, being close for him.

The young man turned, looking around at everyone, the young man and Josh surrounded by everyone.

"Could I say a prayer, everyone? For. . .for Jacob?" he said, everyone staring at him, Justin's blue eyes meeting Josh's blue.

"Alright, Lucas." Josh said, his arms still around him.

The young man's head lowered, everyone's eyes meeting Josh's blue, seeing his deep love for Lucas there.

The pool was bathed in silence, Lucas' voice softly filling the quietness.

"Dear Lord, our God and loving Saviour. Today, a lost soul walks into your kingdom. Into the arena of your judgment and love. You know of the path he has walked. Of the trail of lust, hurt and need that claimed his soul. I ask of you today forgiveness. Forgiveness for a young man who couldn't grasp the reality of what love is. I only ever wanted him to find that love. Perhaps today he can find that love in the forgiveness of your redeeming love. Let him find the peace and happiness I once thought he could have with me. I forgive him, Lord. For all that anger he showed me. I only ever showed him love. It wasn't enough. But today I have my own happiness. The happiness of the love surrounding me. I only want him to experience the same. Let your forgiving love give him that." Lucas said, everyone tearfully staring at him.

The young man's head turned, looking back at the pool.

"Let the waters of your forgiving love warm his lost heart. Go into God's forgiveness, Jacob. The path of your happiness begins. Amen."

Everyone stared at Lucas, his arms going around Josh, Josh hugging him close.

"I think God will hear, Lucas. And your love and forgiveness will wet even his eyes." Josh said, Lucas nodding his head.

"I'm sorry for softening the mood, guys. I just had to close off my own soul in regards to Jacob." he said, everyone moving, the young man enclosed in a circle of love, Lucas hugged by everyone, the young man feeling all their love.

Lucas smiled, wiping his eyes again.

"I suddenly feel hungry. Let's enjoy Trish's and Colton's feast."

The young teenager smiled at Lucas, Lucas smiling back.

"Let's eat out here in the evening's dying sunshine and coolness." Trish said, Andrew kissing her cheek.

"The waters and sunshine of life. I'll need them both tonight for the briefest of moments." Lucas said, everyone smiling at him, finding his words strange.

"I'll help you set up the buffet table." Lucas said, Colton smiling at him.

"You relax, Dad."

Lucas smiled, nodding his head, Chris looking at the two of them strangely.

"Dad? You're only a couple of years older than the squirt."

Colton blushed, Lucas' hand going to the young man's shoulder.

"An inside joke between me and my son." Lucas smiled, Colton laughing, smiling widely.

Everyone smiled, seeing Lucas' mood a little lighter, Josh smiling at the young man.

"You sit, Luke. Justin and Lance can help." Colton smiled, Justin smiling at the young man.

"Would you like me with or without my shirt?" he grinned, Colton blushing.

Justin winked at him, Colton smiling again.

"With, Jus. If you went topless I might add more to the hollandaise cream."

Everyone laughed, Lucas smiling and sitting down at the patio table again; Colton laughing and walking into the house with Trish; Andrew, Justin and Lance following.

Lucas sighed, wiping his mouth on the napkin in his hand, settling back into his chair.

"A meal fit for a condemned man, Colt. Justin's going to have wide hips soon." Lance smiled, Justin snuggled against his side, their chairs joined together, Justin's arm around his man.

"More for me to love, babe. I'll have to branch out to Colt. He can love the extra. I think that's why he's stuffing me."

Colt beamed, smiling at Justin.

Lucas smiled, the young man staring at his young friend and his older friend.

"I think Lance can wear that off you. Colt could well exhaust you." he smiled, Lance smiling at him.

"Nah, I'd switch between the two. Two for the price of one."

Justin laughed, kissing his man's cheek, Colton smiling at Lance.

"We'll keep you in mind, squirt." he winked, Colton smiling at him.

Lucas suddenly sat up in his chair, Josh staring at him.

"Something wrong, babe?" he said, Lucas lowering his eyes for a moment.

He raised his violet pools, looking into Finn's blue eyes.

"No, Beamy. I'm on the true path."

Finn looked at Lucas, the phone on the patio table ringing, Harry picking it up.

"Chasez residence, Harry speaking." he said, the young man listening into the phone.

"Certainly, please come ahead in." he said, hitting a couple of buttons, closing off the phone.

"Detectives Cameron and Harris are here again, Lucas." Harry said, the young man rising from his seat, Lucas nodding as he watched Harry walk into the house.

"Why are they here, Luke? I assumed we were done with statements." Finn said, Lucas staring at his friend.

"They may be looking for answers." Lucas said, Josh staring at his man.

A few moments later the two detectives walked out onto the patio, two uniformed policemen following them.

Detective Harris' blue eyes were staring at Lucas and Finn, Lucas and Finn rising from their seats, the others around them rising as well, Finn staring at the young detective.

Lucas' violet pools looked past the younger detective into the older eyes of Detective Cameron.

"Can I help you, gentlemen?" Josh said, walking towards the four men, the younger detective glaring at Lucas.

"We're here on a mission, Mr. Chasez. Please step aside." Detective Harris said, Josh stopping, the man looking surprised by the arrogance he heard in the young man's voice.

"That's him, men." Harris said, pointing towards Finn and Lucas, the two young men staring at the young detective.

Finn's face showed a deep look of worry as he saw the two uniformed policemen walk towards him.

"What's. . .what's going on here?" Finn stuttered, the two policemen stopping before the two young singers.

The young detective walked forward, Detective Cameron staring quietly at Lucas.

"You can't hide behind lies, fame-seeker." the man smiled, two eyes meeting his.

"Lucas Carver, you're under arrest for the murder of Jacob Addison."

Finn looked totally stunned, as did everyone around the patio, the room covered in silence.

Josh's blue pools were on his lover's violet, the man seeing a soft glow in those violet pools.

The young detective smiled a smile of triumph, Charles Cameron's eyes softening with compassion.

Lucas lowered his violet eyes, the two policemen walking forward.

Lucas raised his hands, a set of handcuffs going around each.
