Chapter 233

Alain looked at Pierce and Gideon, the black man moving, Harry's eyes on his husband.

"Welcome to his love, Maalik. We haven't sensed you--or wondered of you--in eons." Alain said, the man's eyes meeting his, their brownness now golden.

Pierce and Gideon exchanged glances with Rosa Sharon, the little girl smiling at them, her blue pools looking now at Haven.

"We all walk our paths, Jibrail." the man said, Alain nodding.

"Yours and Azrael's are the most hidden, Maalik. No one's felt your existence or purpose. I thought you once an apparition of God's truths. The proverbial legend." Alain said, Haven nodding.

"I've always felt that, Jibrail. I've been lost to many for so long. I still can't fathom how Lucas found me." the man said, returning his gaze to the fire.

"I sense you and Israfil as well, Mikail. And you also, Meresankh. Lucas has guided us all here." the man said, Pierce and Gideon nodding, their eyes changing to a soft glowing golden, Rosa Sharon moving, walking up to the man and Alain.

"We walk on his path now, his love echoing in our hearts. I sense you've felt more and have been given more." she smiled, the man's eyes meeting her blue pools, the little girl smiling at him.

"Your love was always the purest, Meresankh. He favored its smiling beauty. You favored the innocence in all of them." he said, the girl nodding.

"Azrael will be happy, Maalik. You were always his closest confidant." she said, the man lowering his eyes again.

"Life and duty change a soul, Meresankh. As does hurt. I have not seen Azrael in eons." he said, looking into the fire again.

Alain met Rosa Sharon's eyes, the girl directing him back to their seats, everyone sitting down again, all eyes on the man standing alone now at the fireplace.

Horace Hampton walked into the room, Lance and Justin at his sides.

"How is my grandson, Horace?" Emerson said, the doctor looking towards the fireplace, Haven staring at him.

"Lucas is sleeping deeply, Emerson. He seems to be completely exhausted." the doctor said, Lance walking up to Emerson and Tristan, the two men standing a few feet away from Haven.

After Lucas' collapse the doctor had taken charge, guiding Josh out of the room with Lucas in his arms, Lance and Justin following.

They'd carried him up to his bedroom, Josh remaining with him there.

"Exhausted, Horace?" Tristan said, his eyes staring at Haven, the man standing by the fire, gazing into it again.

"Yes, Tristan. His vital signs are low, his breathing's relaxed, but he's in some deep kind of sleep. I couldn't wake him." the doctor said, Mavis' arm going in his.

"Magic taxes the most loving soul. He'll right himself, of that I have no doubt." she said, her blue pools looking towards Haven.

"Have you eaten today, Haven?" she said, the man's eyes moving towards her.

"I'm fine, Mavis." he said, the man feeling the caring in her voice.

Tristan and Emerson stared at him, the man's eyes lowering again.

Francesca moved, walking up to the man, his eyes raising and meeting hers, then staring back into the fire.

"You've surprised us, Haven. Or rather, Lucas has. Is what he said true? About you being trapped behind the evil? That evil pulled you into Hell?" she said, the man trembling a little, his hands steadying on the mantle's wooden surface.

"He shouldn't have ventured onto paths not of his making. He shouldn't have done it." he said, the woman's eyes meeting Emerson's.

The man walked up to his wife, his hand going in hers.

"You seem different, Haven. I sense a deeper love within you. Is it your angelic soul?" Emerson said, the man's eyes raising.

"I am as I always was, Father. I'm just lost here." he said, the older man's face softening, staring into his brown pools.

"I see your love showing, Haven. As it always did when you were younger." Francesca said with soft wonder, the man trembling more.

"Please, I. . .I just need more time. This is all lost to me. This place. . .this life." he softly said, turning back to the fire, staring into its embers.

Emerson stared at his wife, Francesca kissing his cheek, the two backing up a bit.

"Alright, Haven. We'll give you some space." Emerson said, the two walking back to Lance, Tristan and Savannah; Tristan staring at his brother

Justin's eyes met his husband's, their sons seated in Justin's lap.

Lance moved, walking up to the man standing alone at the fireplace.

"Welcome back to Kurucu's Haven, Haven. Lucas surprises everyone.  You most of all, I sense." the man said, Haven's brown eyes meeting his green.

"He has shocked me to my soul, Lance. Twice." he said, Lance nodding.

"When he showed himself to you in Hell?" Lance said, the man nodding.

"That was the first. I was forgotten, lost on the sands of time. No one knew the truth. How did he sense it? Why. . .why did he do it?" the man said, trembling again, Lance's hand going to his shoulder.

"For love and family, as always."

All eyes turned to the open doorway, Josh standing there.

The man walked into the room, walking up to Lance and Haven.

"How is my grandson, Josh?" Emerson said, Josh's eyes meeting his green.

"He's sleeping, Emerson. His love has taxed his soul again, magic its accomplice." the man said, Lance's green eyes meeting his determined blue.

"His love moves as always, Josh." Lance said, Josh nodding, his eyes meeting Haven's.

"I think he's sensed much, Haven. He felt your angelic soul, as he's felt the other angels here with us. I think he's sensed the greater you within yourself. So much so, that he ventured into Hell to pull you from evil's grasp.  And I think that trip's hurt him." Josh said, the man's eyes lowering in front of him.

"Why, Josh? Why was I worth that danger?" the man said, trembling, Lance's arm going around him.

"For the love, Haven. For the love only he sensed in you, in the real you. Not the vision of evil we all saw here and back in your family's past, that your family knew before its separation. He saw behind the evil's charade. And when he sensed that, he went in search of the real, missing Haven Marlowe. The man trapped behind the evil. And the angel trapped within the loving man." Lance said, Haven's head raising.

"I wasn't supposed to leave! He doesn't know what he's done!" the man said, trembling even more, everyone looking at the man with concern.

"I know exactly what I've done."

All eyes turned, Lucas standing in the room's doorway, the young man's left hand holding onto the doorway's frame.

Everyone saw Lucas' changed looks, his hair its normal black color, his smile its usual calming self.

Josh moved, walking up to his husband.

"You should be in bed, my love. I feel and see your exhaustion. And you've changed back to your normal self." Josh said, his arm going around his man.

"The heart holds no exhaustion when it feels the love. Love changes all of us." Lucas said, kissing Josh lightly on the lips, the young man smiling at his soulmate.

"I had to feel the love. Familiar and new." Lucas said, Josh nodding, gently guiding his man into the room, everyone's eyes on the man's soft smile.

"Relax, my family. I am alright. The drawing of the truth just taxed my soul. Your love calms it again." Lucas said, walking up to Haven, the man staring at him.

"Hello, Uncle Haven." Lucas said, the man in front of him lowering his eyes, staring towards the fire again.

"I have no cause to earn that name, Lucas. You, most of all, know that truth." he said, Lucas' hand going to the man's shoulder, patting it.

"I know many truths, Uncle Haven. Your being in this family, being loved by my grandparents and father once, guarantees my acceptance of your place in my and their lives."

The man raised his eyes, staring into Lucas' violet.

"I haven't been in this life in many years, Lucas." the man said, Lucas nodding.

His violet pools went to the flames in front of them, the young man smiling.

"The night cools as the fires warm. Please sit in my grandfather's vacated chair by this fireplace, Uncle Haven. Let's open up life to its heart." Lucas said, the man in front of him staring at him.

"There is no warmth in the center of reality, Lucas." he said, the man moving, sitting down in the wing chair by the fireplace.

Josh's eyes met Lucas', the man smiling at him.

"Sit, my love. I won't tax myself further." he said, Josh nodding, releasing his soulmate's hand, his eyes looking towards his other hand.

"The magic stops, the path calms." he said, Josh nodding, returning to Justin and Lance, sitting down beside them, little Joshy climbing into his lap.

"We's here, Papa. Daddy's love finds us." the boy said, snuggling into Josh's chest, his small eyes on his father standing alone.

"Love, my own, finds all of you." Lucas said, looking around the room.

"I feel your love, Father." he said, Tristan rising from his seat, walking up to his son, his green eyes moving to Haven's staring brown.

"I love you, Lucas. What you've just shown us. . .what he's shown. . .it's so unbelievable." he said, his hand going to Lucas' shoulder, Lucas feeling his father's shock and love.

"Life is unbelievable, Father. Love is even more unbelievable." he said, Tristan staring at his brother.

"Is it true, Lucas? Is. . .is my brother an angel?" he said, Haven's eyes lowering.

"Your brother is a being of love and life, Father. His love was always in your heart. No evil could change him. As his own soul showed trapped within it." Lucas said, Haven's eyes rising, staring at Tristan and his nephew.

"You don't know the greater truth, Lucas. No one does." he said, lowering his eyes again.

"Life knows its own truths, Uncle. I think it's time all truth was shown." he said, kissing his father's cheek.

"Return to Mother, Father. I do this for your heart as well as for his." Lucas said, Tristan nodding, looking at his brother again, then returning to his wife, Savannah's arm going around him.

Lucas smiled at both, the young man sighing, folding his hands in front of him, everyone staring at him.

They all saw the greater scar on Lucas' hand now.

"To begin with, let's talk of the path Haven Marlowe has walked. From his path's creation until its freedom." Lucas said, Haven's eyes raising again, staring at Lucas.

"You have freed more than me, Lucas." the man said, Lucas smiling at him.

"You were born into a family of love, Haven. To a young couple of giving love. You lost their love at the tender age of seven. A fire killing both. For evil's gaze was always upon you. Not for yourself, but for what you'd represent further down the path." Lucas said, Emerson looking at his adopted son, then Lucas.

"His entering my family?" Emerson said, Lucas nodding.

"All paths led to you and the Belmont family, Grandfather. Evil knew the path Haven would walk. The path it needed to gain a hand in. So, Haven's family was taken out of the picture, removed so that he could find his way to you. Adopted and loved by all of you."
Emerson and Francesca stared at the man seated at the end of the fireplace, the man's eyes on both of them.

"From love to hurt, then back to love. Evil has toyed with all your emotions all your lives. But someone else formulated the true path this man would walk."

"God, Lucas?" Lewis said, Lucas smiling at the minister.

"Yes, Uncle Lewis. God walked a heroic warrior onto the path that evil created. The angel Maalik was born into the child known as Haven Marlowe. God's hand was always guiding you, Haven." Lucas said, Haven's eyes showing soft emotion.

"I know, Lucas. I've known since my existence. Not the trueness of the path I would walk, nor the love and hurt I would find on it. Only that I felt God's loving presence within myself. I loved my true parents, I love this family as well to the depth of my soul." he said, Emerson and Francesca tearing up, Tristan staring at his brother.

"Goodness followed you, Uncle. Evil as well. You gained the love of my family at a greater cost. To find it then lose it." Lucas said, his eyes meeting his father's.

Tristan's eyes met Haven's, the man staring at him.

"I found a father and mother of great love. And a brother who was the second part of my life. His love and theirs fed my soul. I loved them all deeply." he said, Tristan staring at him with emotion.

"And then you felt the truth coming, the evil following all of you." Lucas said, Haven nodding.

"Yes, Lucas. I felt the coming evil. And what it wanted." he said, the man rising from his seat, his hand going to the fireplace mantle, staring into the fire again.

"The soul of my family's love." Lucas said, Haven's eyes meeting his.

"Yes, Lucas. All of them shared a deep love for each other, and for me. Mother Isadora evil had already claimed, killing her with its evil meanness. I felt the evil that night. I felt her then return in Mother Francesca's soul. Her singular love never left." he said, Francesca's eyes meeting his, changing from violet to blue.

"You knew she was Isadora?" Emerson said, Haven nodding.

"Love never changes, in a touch or a kiss." the man said, Francesca nodding at him.

"We both loved you, Haven." she said, Haven's eyes lowering.

"You felt the evil's next plans, didn't you?" Lucas said, the man nodding.

His eyes met his brother's, Tristan staring at him with quiet emotion.

"Its eyes were on you, Tristan. I felt evil's focus on my brother. I saw your love for Savannah, I saw your deep love. Evil was drawn to it. It would destroy both of you to hurt my father's soul. To destroy all of us. I just couldn't allow that to happen. Not when I had so much love." the man said, Tristan and Savannah rising from their seats, Emerson and Francesca rising as well.

Lucas' hand went to the man's shoulder, leaning forward and kissing his cheek, Haven surprised by his touch.

"You felt the evil's plan. Your angelic soul felt the path God had chosen for you." Lucas said, Haven's eyes meeting his family's staring eyes, the man nodding.

"His voice came to me, giving me a choice, one that I knew I needed to make." he said, Tristan walking up to his brother, staring at him.

"What choice, Haven?" Tristan said, the man staring at him.

"To walk a different path than I wanted, Trist. To lose everything to save everything." he said, Lucas' hand going to his uncle's shoulder.

"You. . .you risked your own life for us?" Tristan said, Haven's eyes meeting his green.

"I loved you, Trist. I loved Mother and Father. And Savannah and Vivian. You were my family." the man said, turning and looking into the fire again.

"Haven, we. . .we loved you." Tristan said, his parents, Vivian and Savannah walking up to him, joining as a family.

Lucas looked between the six, the young man moving, his hand going to Haven's shoulder again.

"You bartered with the evil, didn't you? At His request." the young man said, his family looking surprised, staring at the man.

"He asked me to give into the evil's need. To offer myself for their lives. It was an easy choice to make, when love was its core. It happened about a month before Tristan returned from college the first time, about a year before the last ball when Tristan disappeared after that. It wasn't me here that last year. It was a personification of evil's deception. I was consumed by the evil." Haven said, Tristan moving, turning the man in his arms.

"You gave into the evil to save us?" he said, Haven's eyes showing tears.

"I had to, Trist. I now see it was for the formation of the true path. My false evil image showing itself, you then leaving here and creating the path to Lucas' existence. God's hand was in all of it." Haven said, his eyes meeting Lucas', then Tristan's.

"Oh, Haven! You didn't have to risk all!" Tristan said, tears now showing in his eyes.

"I loved all of you! We all loved each other so much! I couldn't let that giving love end!" he sobbed, Tristan pulling him into his arms, his brother sobbing against his chest.

Emerson and Francesca moved, their arms going around the two men.

Tristan's wet eye met Lucas' tear-filled eyes.

"Love never ends when it's true. He always was your brother. You have him again." he said, Tristan nodding, moving back from his brother.

"I love you, Haven. Your friendship and brotherly love I've missed." he said, Haven staring at him.

"You've. . .you've seen the real me, Trist. The person I've always been. My angelic self. Can you. . .can you really get past that?" he said, Emerson and Francesca staring at their adopted son.

"Look upon your lost angelic brethren seated around you, Haven. They are loved for their own selves. Others love them as they always have. Your family always loved you, and still does." Lucas said.

Haven's eyes met Alain's, his soulmates surrounding him with their love.

"I am your brother, Haven. I've never been prouder to say that today. I see your real self, the person I've always known before the evil showed itself." Tristan said, Lucas smiling at his father.

"Oh, Trist! I've missed you all so much!" Haven cried, his family enveloping him again, Lucas smiling at the man's showing emotions.

Grayson rose from his seat, walking up to Lucas, the young man smiling at him, the two taking in the reuniting family love in front of them, Vivian now having joined them as well.

"You unite all, Lucas." Grayson said, his brother smiling at him, Emerson releasing his sons, Haven wiping his eyes.

"Welcome home, Haven. We see your returned self. We should have seen the love behind the evil." Emerson said, Haven smiling at him, Tristan's arm around him.

"You didn't know, Father. You didn't know." Haven said, Tristan smiling at his brother.

"Welcome home, Haven. I have my brother again." he smiled widely, Haven smiling at him.

"I have my sons together again!" Emerson said, smiling with tearful happiness, Francesca's arm going around him.

Everyone arose from their seats, the man welcomed by all.

Josh's eyes were on Lucas, the young man sitting down in the vacated wing chair, watching everyone.

Haven broke his sister's hug, Vivian smiling at him.

"It wasn't me, Vivian. It wasn't me that attacked you. It was so soon after I fell to the evil. It went for the first love it saw. You must believe me. I. . .I couldn't stop it." he said, Vivian nodding her head.

"I remember your brotherly love, Puck. What happened that night shocked me to my soul. It was such a change in you. Now I see it was evil's touch, not yours." she said, wiping tears from his cheeks.

"I haven't heard that name in years." he said, Vivian smiling at him.

"Always our Puck, our little imp of life and happiness. We have you back again." she smiled, hugging him again.

"I've missed so much. The family's grown." he said, everyone smiling at him.

Trish walked up to her mother, Vivian smiling at her, her eyes meeting Haven's.

"Hello, Father. I guess in a sense I am your daughter. Conceived by the evil's intent. I now see the goodness within myself must have come from you." she said, Haven staring at her with emotion.

"I would never hurt your mother, Patricia. She was and still is my loving sister." he said, Trish smiling, leaning forward, kissing the man's cheek.

"I know that now, sir. I still can't believe this." she smiled, the man nodding, looking at Vivian.
"She has your blue pools, Vivacious. I can't change what I did in evil's grasp. I saw it all from evil's prison. I seek all your forgiveness." he said, Lewis and Jacques walked up to everyone, the Frenchman smiling at him.

"It is good to see the real Puck back again, mon ami. You are the mirror image of the goodness we all knew back then. Evil is now gone." he smiled, Haven smiling, he and Lewis hugging the man.

"God's love can stand against any evil. I'm hugging another angel!" Lewis said, Haven laughing lightly, the sound changing the man's calm face, a more handsome beauty showing.

"My grandson's love spreads even farther." Emerson smiled, his arms going around his two sons.

The three men smiled, looking towards Lucas, the young man still seated in the chair Haven had just vacated, his violet pools staring around at everyone.

"God's love shows in many ways, in many places. The Pompous Darlings are now united in their love again." Lucas said softly, his hands going together, everyone seeing the scar now covered half the back of his hand.

"Lucas. . .your hand?" Lewis said, Lucas' violet pools meeting his blue.

"I need to rest. . ." he started to say, his own self suddenly disappearing.

Everyone looked surprised, all rising from their seats, Colton walking up to the Belmont family.

"His changed looks should have alerted you to his walking self. The tiredness still claims him, but his love had to go on a voyage of reuniting love." the young man smiled, Haven staring at him.

"I feel the touch of God within you, young man." he said, Colton smiling at him.

"You feel Lucas' love and magic, Haven. I feel his wandering magic. And I feel a greater truth." Colton said, Josh walking up to him.

"What's Lucas doing, Colt?" Josh said, Colton smiling at him.

"He's spreading his love, Papa. We'll just have to wait until he's awake again to find out the truth surrounding us. I think he'll sleep all night now." he said, Josh nodding, looking at everyone.

"I'm going to return to him. I miss his love. Goodnight everyone." the man said, everyone saying goodnight, Josh walking out of the room, Justin and Lance following, their sons in their arms.

Everyone's eyes were on Colton, the young man smiling around at everyone.

"Dad's love never stops. And I feel the rising truth." he smiled, Hemi's arm going around him.

"Are you alright, my love?" he said, the other three of their heart surrounding him.

"I'm fine, Dad's fine. Let's welcome the new family of love he's created. Then let's call it a night." Colton smiled, Haven smiling at him.

Everyone walked up to the Belmont family, Haven welcomed by all.

The Next Morning

Grayson smiled, walking into the dining room, everyone smiling at him, Judge Navarro's hand in his.

"I just met Josh in the hallway upstairs. Lucas is awake and coming down for breakfast." he said, Emerson having risen from his seat, hugging his brother.

"Grand news, Gray. Our day shall begin with his love." he smiled, Grayson nodding, his eyes meeting Haven's and Tristan's, the two brothers seated together smiling at him.

"Our day begins with all your united love. The boy's beyond remarkable." the man smiled, walking his husband to their seats at the end of Emerson's table.

Two tables were filled with everyone, all awaiting Lucas and his family's returning love.

Emerson smiled, his eyes meeting his sons' eyes.

Haven and Tristan had been the last to retire last night, the two talking for hours, their brotherly love again cemented in their hearts.

Tristan had told Haven of his son's life, the man moved by the young man's courageous resolve.

"A family again united. My grandson's given me my life's happiness." he said, his family all smiling at him.

"Your life is at its center, Grandfather. It still has a long path ahead."

Emerson smiled, turning to the doorway, Lucas standing there, his family around him.

Little Joshy and Justy stood in front of him, the two boys moving, running up to a kneeling Emerson.

"Me's hungy, Gampa!" Little Justy said, Emerson laughing.

"Food my little grandsons need. Your grandfathers will feed you with their love, boys." he smiled, Henderson and Randall picking up the boys, their fathers walking up to the tables, two twosomes' hands joined.

"I'm hungry for your love, Grandfather. The Belmont family love is most delicious." Lucas smiled, hugging his grandfather, Emerson smiling at Josh.

Josh saw the total happiness on Emerson's face, the man patting his grandson's back.

"The meal is now complete. Its center has arrived." he smiled, Lucas releasing him, kissing his cheek.

"The allure of the Mavises' cuisine awoke my nostrils before myself. Let's all dine on their love." Lucas said, the two Mavises walking out of the kitchen, both hearing Lucas' words.

"You'd find a free meal in anyone's heart, Luke." Momma Mavis smiled, Lucas smiling at her and Mavis.

"And we already have a platter filled with the largest cuts with your name on it, smooth talker." Mavis said, Lucas laughing, everyone smiling at the young man's energetic laugh.
"Feeling better this morning, Lukey?" Finn said from his table, little Julian in his lap.

"I'm surrounded by all the love, showing and hidden. I'm damn near fantastic." he said, winking at his soulmates, Justin and Lance sitting down at the table, Lucas joining his Josh on Emerson's left side.

"More hidden love, Luke?" Nick said, seated beside Gio and Gideon.

"Love always hides in the shadows of life, my friend. Today's a day of drawing life." he smiled, Emerson smiling at his grandson.

"More surprises, my grandson?" he said, Lucas smiling and rising to his feet.

"Good morning, my family. Today is the day of life's beginning. The path needs to be organized today so that tomorrow can see its end. The world awaits." he said, Grayson nodding.

"So we were informed this morning, Lucas. The security detail gave us a full report this morning. The front gates are surrounded by the world's needs. All the television stations have been going nonstop since last evening's raining stars.

"We're kind of trapped here." Gabriel said, Lucas nodding.

"You are all trapped within my love. It is the safest place upon this earth." Lucas said, his eyes meeting Haven's across from him, the man smiling at him.

"I'd like to say grace before we dine on this impressive feast. Please everyone, let us give thanks." Lucas said, everyone bowing their heads, Lucas looking towards the fireplace.

"Dear Lord, it is us, your devoted children, assembled together, joined in family love. We give thanks today for your ever-giving love, for its surrounding life, for its nourishing warmth. Today begins it all. Our love joins, our lives given over to your guiding path. We seek nourishment from this bounty, we seek love from our souls and family. We will dine on life, we will dine on love. I am ready, surrounded by the family I always wanted. I am whole, as is the world to be. Let's walk in your love and with our own souls filled with love. Amen."

"Amen." everyone said, Lewis looking at Lucas when he sat down again.

"Moving words, Lucas." he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"Spoken from my heart, Uncle Lewis." he smiled, Lewis smiling at him.

Mavis smiled, walking up to Lucas, setting a platter down in front of him.

"Dig in, my grand-nephew." she smiled, pulling the lid off it.

Josh's eyes widened, seeing a heaping platter filled with large sausages, bacon, pancakes and eggs.

"You've outdone yourself, Aunt Mavis. I'm never leaving!" Lucas grinned, Mavis laughing, leaning down and kissing his cheek.

"Only for you, smooth talker." she smiled, setting a basket of steaming fluffy rolls beside the platter, returning to her seat beside Horace.

"Lots panskates, Daddy!" Little Joshy said, seated in Randall's lap beside Justin.

"Eat your fill, my son. We're going to bust!" Lucas smiled, everyone diving into the food, filling their plates.

Lucas smiled at Haven across from him, the man eating from his plate.

"How finds your first day back in life, Uncle?" he said, Haven smiling at him, Tristan smiling at his brother beside him.

"It is wrapped in my family's love, nephew. How I've missed it." he said, Lucas nodding.

"To find family is to find life." he smiled, looking at all his parents and family, everyone smiling at him.

"We'll talk of the rest after breakfast. I've a few things to organize." Lucas said, Josh kissing his cheek.

"You're relaxing today, my love. Let's give the theatrics a rest." he said, Lucas smiling his Josh smile.

"I've already had three standing ovations this morning. I think the show's a hit." he smiled, Josh blushing, Finn laughing out loud, Chris joining him.

"Broadway here you come!" Chris said, Finn exploding again with laughter, others joining in.

Lucas smiled, staring at Chris.

"And for an encore, the Kirkpatrick solo play. Piney's gone on the road." he said, Piney laughing, Chris blushing deeply.

"We're a duet, Carver." he said, Piney smiling, kissing his man's cheek, filling more sausages onto his plate.

"Eat, my love. He's full of energy this morning. He'll devour you." he said, Lucas smiling at Chris Pine.

"I'll starve first, thanks. Too much hair."

Finn laughed loudly, Joey joining him, Chris blushing more.

His eyes met Lucas', the man smiling at him.

"Don't ever change, Luke." he said, Lucas nodding.

"Your mirth stokes my soul. I'll let Piney fill the blow hole, Orca."

Chris laughed, diving into his food, everyone smiling and laughing, a family joining in nourishment.

Haven looked up at the portrait of his brother, the man feeling a hand going to his shoulder.

"Mother's love coming out on canvas." Tristan said, Haven smiling at him, the two brothers standing in front of the fireplace in the Receiving Room.

Francesca smiled, seated with her husband and Savannah, everyone relaxing in the room after breakfast an hour later.

"The day's coolness is felt in the soft breezes rattling through this old place. Put another log on the fire, Tristan." Emerson said, Tristan reaching down and picking up a log, Haven moving the grill, Emerson smiling at his two sons working together.

Josh sat with Enrique and Colton, awaiting Lance's and Justin's return with their sons, both in need of changing.

"Where's Lucas, Josh?" Lance said, he and Justin walking into the room, their sons walking in front of them, heading for their grandparents.

Vivian smiled, picking up Justy, Joshy already in Savannah's lap.

"He said he needed to do something, Lance. He was adamant about doing it himself." Josh said, Colton smiling and kissing Josh's cheek.

"And the hundreds of kisses he gave you made you give into his wishes." he said, Josh smiling, nodding.

"I don't like him out of my sight now. He gave me a promise." he said, Colton smiling, cuddling against the older man, Josh's arm going around him.

"He gave us both a promise, Josh. Lucas' word is life." Colton said, Justin and Lance smiling at him, the two sitting down with Finn and Skyler, Julian and Diana in their laps.

"I feel more surprises coming." Finn said, Justin nodding.

"Not unless you've grown an inch. That would surprise Sky's small hands. Too much work with four." Lucas said, smiling around at everyone, the young man walking into the room.

Chris burst into laughter, Joey joining him, others laughing as well at a blushing Finn.

"He's got ears like a hawk." Finn said, folding his arms, little Julian now lying beside him, sucking on a pacifier.

"Make that an eagle, Finny. My family's symbols of greatness." Lucas smiled, walking up to Haven and his father.

"Where's the bear, Luke?" Gio said, cuddled together with Nick and Gideon.

"He's sitting with his family, right Finny?" Lucas smiled, Finn giving him a one-fingered salute, others laughing.

"I'm shaving, I'm done with all these taunts!" he said, Skyler kissing his cheek, smiling at her husband.

"No way, babe. The downy fields of heaven I love to wake up against." she said, Finn smiling, kissing her lips.

"They're all just jealous." she said, Lucas smiling at his friends.

"Your love is great, Finn. It echoes through all of us." he said, Finn smiling, cuddling with his wife and children.

The buzzer on the wall went off, Jefferson rising from his seat, looking towards Emerson.

"I'll answer the door, Sir." he said, he and Myles walking out of the room together holding hands.

"Were you expecting someone, Em?" Grayson said, Emerson shaking his head in the negative.

"It's someone I've invited to visit, Grandfather. I answered the call from security a few moments ago, allowing them entrance." Lucas said, his grandfather's green pools meeting his violet.

"All are welcomed if they are invited by you, my grandson." he said, Lucas smiling at him, Tristan's hand going to his son's shoulder.

"Who has arrived, Lucas?" he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"The world's eyes searches, Father. I've decided to allow it to see." he said, folding his hands in front of him, the young man standing between his father and uncle, both men staring at him.

Josh's eyes were on his husband, the man now seated with his soulmates and sons, little Justy in his lap talking adamantly to his father.

Lucas smiled, the door of the room opening again, Jefferson and Myles walking in, staring at Emerson.

"Some guests have arrived, here to see Lucas, Sir." he said, Emerson nodding.

"Let them enter, Jefferson." he said, the man nodding, holding the door open, Myles at his side.

Everyone arose from their seats, staring with surprise at the man walking into the room, another unknown man standing in the doorway behind him.

Two blue eyes met Lucas', the man who'd walked into the room going to one knee.

"Faith and life surround me! I walk into your truths, Lucas." the man said, Lucas smiling, the young man moving, walking across the room, helping the older man kneeling regain his feet.

"You need not kneel to me, my friend." Lucas smiled, kissing the older man's cheek.

His violet pools went to the other man still standing in the doorway.

"I see the Holy Father has given in to my request. Welcome to my family's home, Hudson." Lucas said, the other man walking forward, a look of quiet awe showing on his younger face.

Two violet pools met the other man's grey pools, the young man staring at Lucas.

"Thank you, sir." he said, Lucas smiling at him, his eyes directed back to the older man standing beside him.

"You're just in time, Fredrick. The path readies." Lucas said, Cardinal Fredrick Santiago nodding, crossing himself.

Lewis rose from his seat, Jacques following him, the minister walked up to the cardinal, Fredrick smiling at him.

"Hello again, Lewis." he said, the two men embracing, Jacques smiling at the touching reunion.

"God's love guides us together again, Fred." he said, the two smiling as they broke their embrace, Fredrick's eyes moving towards Tristan.

"Hello again, Tristan. Like old times." he smiled, Tristan walking up to the two.

"Freddy Santiago! My God, you're a cardinal now!" he said, the two men embracing, Lucas smiling at the three united friends.

"Yes, I've been blessed by the church's worth." he said, the two men breaking their embrace.

"School friends brought together by life's paths." Lucas smiled, the three looking at him.

"More by your loving divine intervention, Lucas." Fredrick said, Lucas smiling at him.

"Let me introduce you to everyone you aren't acquainted with." Lewis said, guiding the cardinal around the room introducing him to those he didn't know.

Tristan's eyes met Lucas', his son smiling at him.

"All walk on my path of love, Father." he said, his violet pools meeting the grey eyes of the young man who stood in silence beside him.

"You made fast time, arriving just when needed, Hudson." he said, the young man nodding, everyone staring at him as Lewis walked the cardinal around the room.

The young man's grey eyes meet two other pools, the two locked in a short stare.

"We caught an earlier flight out of Rome, sir." he said, now focusing again on Lucas, the young man smiling, shaking his hand.

"My name is Lucas, Hudson. We'll be working together for a better life." he said, the young man staring at him.

Josh stared at the young man, taking him to be about twenty-five, blond haired, rugged good looks, a slim but muscular body showing in the tight jacket, shirt and pants he wore.

Cardinal Santiago smiled, walking up to the two young men, Lewis at his side.

"Forgive me, everyone. This is Hudson Gordon-Carlisle, from the Vatican's press corps." Fredrick said, Lucas smiling at the cardinal.

The surrounding Carlisles stared with surprise at the young man, Lucas' eyes meeting his mother's.

"He's a Carlisle?" she said, Francesca rising from her seat, staring at the young man.

"Hello, Hudson. I'm an old friend and relation of your grandmother's. How finds your grandmother Melinda?" she said, the young man looking surprised.
"She is well, Madame. She had informed me you had returned." the young man said, Francesca smiling at him, her eyes meeting Lucas' violet pools.

"You draw all to your love, my grandson." she said, the young man looking between the two.

"So, it seems." Cardinal Santiago said, Lucas smiling at him.

"Thank you for agreeing to my request." Lucas said, the man smiling at him.

"He's the best, Lucas. His equipment is in the foyer. But I sense you already knew that." Fredrick said, Tristan staring at the young man.

"He's a reporter, Lucas? And a Carlisle?" he said, Lucas smiling at his father.

"He's a servant of God, Father. Devoted to finding the truth, in all corners of life." he said, the young man nodding at him.

"I am seeking all truths, Lucas. Thank you for this honor." he said, bowing his head, Lucas smiling at him.

"You won't be thanking me when you see where it leads. All paths lead to truth. Let's start on the path running." Lucas smiled, the young man looking around at everyone.

"Please, everyone. Let's sit down again, I need to focus on the path." Lucas said, everyone nodding, the young man staring at him.

"Come, Hudson. Sit with us." Fredrick said, the young man nodding, following Lewis and Fredrick, the men sitting down with Jacques, the Frenchman hugging the cardinal.

Savannah rose from her seat, staring at Lucas as she walked up to him.

"Another Carlisle, Lucas?" she said, looking at the young reporter staring at her.

"Their love surrounds me. I asked for his presence based on his felt love." Lucas said, Cardinal Santiago smiling at Lucas.

"You requested him personally, Lucas. I left your home with his name in my heart. Pope Francis said he was at your complete disposal." the cardinal said, Lucas smiling at him, then at the young man.

The young man stood up, walking up to Lucas again.

"We. . .we are related?" he softly said, Lucas smiling at him.

"Your family history is entwined with my own family's heritage, Hudson. I felt your love across the earth's surface. We were always destined to meet. For many reasons." Lucas smiled, the young man tearing up.

"I. . .I can't believe it. I. . .I am unworthy." he said, the young man about to kneel, Lucas' hand stopping him, going to his shoulder.

"The worthiness of our destiny is our friendship that will grow, Hudson." he said, the young man nodding.

"Your love I want to know, Mr. Carver-Belmont." he said, Lucas waving a finger at him, the young man smiling.

"I'm sorry, Lucas." he said, Lucas smiling.

"It's Luke, Hudson. Please sit." he said, the young man nodding, returning to Cardinal Santiago, sitting down again, the two exchanging glances.

"As you may want to know, I requested from Cardinal Santiago—when he visited me at my home a few days ago—a connection to the media, through His Holiness' church. I needed a man of faith, family and intellect. I believe I've found all in my grandmother's cousin's grandson." he said, Adam rising from his seat, walking up to Lucas, the young reporter staring at the handsome famous singer.

"You knew you'd need a reporter to cover all the coming reality." he said, his hand going to Lucas' shoulder.

"Yes, my confidant. Very smart." he said, Adam smiling at him.

"So, the world can see the unfolding events."

Lucas nodded, everyone now seeing what Lucas was doing.

"But why did he have to be family?" Tristan said, staring at the young man, Lucas smiling at his father.

"Family is love, Father. I need only love around me. Plus, he'll look at things with true eyes of life. I have full confidence in my cousin's intellect and integrity." Lucas said, the young man smiling at him.

"I've always looked through my lenses and seen truth, Luke." he said, smiling around at everyone.

"So have I, Hudson." Lucas smiled, his eyes meeting Cardinal Santiago's blue pools.

"Is it time, Lucas?" he said, Lucas smiling, nodding.

"Come to me, our brethren of life." he said, the cardinal rising from his seat, Lewis looking up at him.

The man smiled, walking forward, stopping in front of Lucas.

The young man smiled, embracing the older man, kissing both his cheeks.

"Welcome to your true life, Ridwan." he said, the older man smiling, Lucas releasing him.

Alain traded looks with Pierce and Gideon, Haven staring at the cardinal with surprise.

Rosa Sharon smiled, Lucas smiling at her.

"Excellent!" she grinned.

Everyone's eyes widened in surprise, Cardinal Fredrick Santiago's form changing.

Two large white wings now expanded behind him.

"Welcome to life, Ridwan, the seventh of our gathering angels." Lucas smiled, everyone staring at the now shown angel.
