I've changed things around for this chapter to give it a little twist. Let me know what you think. Now lets get back to what you came here for.

*** Encountering Nick - Chapter Seven

NICK

I stood there not having a clue as to what was going on. Why the hell was Britney Spears at my door? I thought she fired Geoff, so why is she here?

"I got your message," she told Geoff after he asked about here presence. Message? He called her? Why did he call her? Britney continued, "and you asked for help. So I'm here to help."

Why didn't he ask me for help? Does Geoff not trust me?

"Wow," Geoff said, "You're the greatest Brit!" He got up from the bed, ran up to her and gave her the biggest hug. I realized that she must have interrupted her tour to come here, but what could be so important?

Things just weren't making sense to me. I figured Geoff would hate this girl for firing him, and now she's at our doorstep. I wonder if there are things Geoff's keeping from me?

Geoff then looked over at me. I think I had the most confused and puzzled look on my face, and he realized that immediately. He walked over to me and gave me a quick kiss and reassuring smile. I know there is a reason behind all of this, but I just don't know what it is. I has to be about that new dancer guy. I think his name was Jack.

"Nicky?" Geoff said smiling up at me, since I'm a little taller than he is. I was in love with that smile. It is just so beautiful and heavenly. I melt every time I see it. But that isn't the only thing I'm in love with. I'm in love with the boy who possesses that smile. I really hope things never change.

"Yea?" I finally answered after coming out of my temporary daze.

"I think you know who this is, and I know she knows who you are," Geoff said, giving Britney a quick glance, "And I want to assure you that everything's okay."

"Okay..." I said doubtfully, and then looking at Britney. "Don't take this the wrong way, but if everything's okay, then why are you here?"

"She's here," Geoff began answering for Britney, "because I called her and needed her help." I looked at Britney and she nodded. Geoff continued, "She's my best friend Nick. I realize now that I never told you about my friendship with Brit, and I am sorry I didn't. This just makes it so much more confusing for you. I realize now that there are a lot of things I haven't told you."

What did he mean by that? What could he possibly be keeping from me? But before I could ask Britney cut in.

"Geoff has always been there for me, Nick, and I have always tried to be there for him. I got a call yesterday from Geoff in which he said he needed help."

"I can help," I said kind of pitifully. I was feeling kind of useless. I was feeling kind of upset that he never asked me for help.

"I know you can," Geoff agreed with me, "and you will. It was just impulse to call Brit. Ever since I started with them, she's always been there for me, Nick. Whenever anything was bothering me, there was always her. Do you understand?"

"Yes I do," I told him, "But I just want you to know that there will always be me as well."

"I know Nick," he said as I took him in my arms, "And I will love you forever because of it!"

"I love you too," I said as I brought his face to me, lips crash into one another's.

"Awww... You two are so cute!" Brit teased.

I had forgotten she was in the room and then became immediately embarrassed. When I get embarrassed I turn seven different shades of red. It's actually quite amusing.

"Cut it out, Brit!" Geoff exclaimed, "Look! You're making my beau embarrassed!"

"Oh, so sorry!" Britney laughed, "I didn't think it'd be so easy!"

"Shut up!" I joked, and was finally becoming more comfortable with her. I also figured her to be a stuck up snobby bitch. However, she was far from it. But maybe it was just a good impression.

I've met Justin many times, and he only had great things to say about this girl. Besides if Geoff trusts her, than I can too.

"So what are we going to do about Jack?" she asked us. I was right. It was about the new dancer. I knew it would be. But that was a good question she just asked. I knew we couldn't just fire him. As much as we would like to, we cannot just fire him because of his past.

None of us really had an answer to that question. Just then Brian stepped through the door. He told me earlier that he would be stopping by later this morning.

"Good morning!" Brian said as he entered the room. As soon as he noticed Britney, a questioned look formed upon his face. "What's going on guys?"

"I'm Britney Spears!" she said. You have no idea how ditzy that sounded. I realized that she may be a great friend to Geoff, and a genuinely kind person, but when it came down to it she was honestly extremely dim-witted.

"Yea, I kind of figured that part out," Brian said a little sarcastically. "So what's the deal?"

Geoff answered, "Last night, when I ran away from the hotel, I called Britney asking her for help. I didn't actually get to speak to her, but I left a message. So, instead of calling back, she did one better and caught a plane to LA to come and help me in person."

"Hey! What are best friends for!?" she retorted.

"Ahh, best friends eh?" Brian stated, "Alright. I think I've caught up with the basics. So what do we do now? How exactly do we help?"

"That's where we're stuck Bri," I told him. "We're kind of short on ideas."

The four of us sat for what seemed like hours, but all suggestions we deliberated seemed futile.

"Maybe I should just try reason with him?" Geoff suggested. "I mean, we used to be friends."

"You did?" I asked, "I thought the two of you always hated each other?"

Britney laughed. "Are you kidding? Geoff was madly in love with the guy!"

I couldn't believe what I just heard! Geoff loved this Jack guy? But does he still love him? No, he couldn't. There's no way. He said he loves me... but does he really?

"That was a long time ago Brit," Geoff explained himself, "I have no feelings for Geoff other than hatred right now. But if I have to, I will try reasoning with him. It frankly seems like our best bet right now. Am I right?"

"I think you're right," Brian agreed, as did I. However, I was little uncomfortable with it. But I have to trust Geoff.

"Do you want me to come with you?" I asked Geoff.

"No Nick, I think I should do this alone."

"Oh, alright." I sighed.

Brian then told us that he better get back to Lee, and then took off. Britney decided she'd stay until we left LA, so she went to go check in at the hotel. Geoff deiced he'd go and talk to Jack right away, so I wished him good luck and sent him on his way.

I then sat in the hotel room, alone with my thoughts. I don't think I understand this Jack story completely. When Geoff first told me about him, he said Jack always had something against him, because he was gay. But then how could he love Jack? I think there is more to this story than I am completely aware of.

"Knock knock... anybody home?" TJ said while opening the door.

"Uhh... hi TJ. Geoff isn't here." I replied.

"Oh, hey Nick. Where did he go?"

"To see if he could reason with Jack."

"Oh, that's good, I guess."

"Yea, I guess."

Then the room filled with an awkward silence that. It seemed to last an eternity.

"So, you and Geoff make a nice couple."

"Thanks," I said.

The awkward silence arose again. It was becoming very uncomfortable in the room.

Finally, he broke the silence. "I miss you, Nick."

"TJ..." I began but he cut me off.

"No, listen. I don't want to come between the two of you, but I can't hide it anymore Nick. I still have feelings for you."

"You do?" I asked.

"Yes I do Nick. I still love you." TJ said.
